My mission has been to improve student achievement, especially for poor and minority students. I was born in Altadena, California, and raised in Compton and Pomona, California. As the fourth of six children in a single parent home, I was taught the importance of strong and healthy relationships. Growing up in gang infested streets made me no stranger to drugs and violent crime, it also strengthened my understanding of the fact that education would be my path out. Some would say that I am skilled in topics of Diversity, Educational Leadership, and Curriculum. As a Co-Founder of an organization dedicated to helping all students achieve their post high school academic goals, we have successfully created paths for students of color and poverty to gain college entry. As well as being a Producer and Songwriter, I have also served as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal in the Pasadena Unified School District since 2000. I attended UC Santa Barbara, where as a member of the basketball team, I made many connections. I have a masters degree in Education and a masters in School Administration earned at Azusa Pacific University, as well as, a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of Southern California.
