A Sales Coach Moves to the Suburbs and Becomes a Working Stiff
May 23, 2023 Episode 16
Andrew Wendt and Karen Sandvoss of Be Realty

It’s not often that you go to the bathroom and come back to a different persona! Well, that’s just what happened to David Fisher at a gig one night. He left the stage "David" and came back to it as D.Fish! And is still D.Fish to this day 20 years later. Topics in this episode range from selling to toddlers to the coaching process for new salespersons to gender politics to downtempo heroes. We focus on moving from near the city in Evanston to Glenview and all that entails. It is a fun and educational discussion with a good friend of ours! Listen in...

Bullet Notes:

  • Miss the lake! Miss being walking distance to ethnic restaurants!
  • Lives near Roosevelt Park in Glenview.
  • Korean food fan!
  • Started become a music lover in the early days of hip hop.
  • Huge Bostones/Ska fan.
  • DJ’ed more of an open format that leaned towards hip hop.
  • Nujabes. Downtempo inventor. Downtempo is an evolution of electronic music and hip hop for the afterparty lounges.
  • D.Fish origin story. Trumpet player was drumming and David started rapping the Humpty Dance. Everyone calls him that except for his wife and his mom.
Sometimes you go to the bathroom and come back and your life is changed forever!
  • A book called the Good Wife is a gag book filled with delightfully ridiculous advice given to wives in the 40’s and 50’s.
  • Expanding opportunities to be a father.
  • We had a discussion about gender politics.
  • Beer, beats, and business! 100 episodes.
  • CCRD.info
  • Tips for young realtors.
  • Got started at Cutco.
  • Coaching process is talking to the individuals and asking them their goals.
  • If you are trying to get somebody to do something then you’re a salesperson, including getting a toddler to wear pants!
  • January 1 is not inherently different, but can be useful.
  • This episode was delightful!
