Speaker 1:

Welcome to our bonus episode of SCI Care. What Really Matters the Edinburgh Conversations. I am Dr Ali Jumous, the President of the International Spine Court Society. You are about to hear a selection of interviews recorded live in Edinburgh during the course of the 60 Seconds Excos Scientific Meeting. Each bonus track will have discussions with speakers, delegates, partners, Excos Committee chairs and teams attending the Excos 2023. Join us to find out what the hot topics of the day are within SCI Care.

Speaker 2:

I am Christine Henry. I am the CEO of the. Spinal Research Institute, and I am here at Excos 2023 with one of our grant recipients, zishi Dr Hallelujah Moshi, would you like to introduce yourself?

Speaker 3:

Yes, my name is Dr Hallelujah Moshi from Tanzania. I am a senior physiotherapist in one of the consultant hospitals in the northern part of Tanzania, but also a lecturer, because I have done a PhD in Spinal Code Injury. So that's a little bit about me Fantastic.

Speaker 2:

Can you talk a bit about your research?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, my research area is a traumatic spinal code injury and I've looked at three different areas. That means how it will occur in the rural areas and the hospitalization complications, mortality rate. And after that I've gone ahead and looked at the quality of life of people who live in the rural areas and how they make life possible in these difficult areas Fantastic.

Speaker 2:

And how are you finding ESCOS this year? Yeah, it's fantastic.

Speaker 3:

I think I'm overwhelmed by information and networking and I'm learning a lot of things. And you know, you come with here with your own narrow way of thinking about spinal code injury and you find people who are doing a lot outside what you think and you learn a lot from other disciplines because, like now, I like the workshop and the psychosocial, because I could see that we can do a lot more outside the human body to support the lives of people with spinal code injury and building more interest also in doing some studies in those areas.

Speaker 2:

Excellent, glad you're having a good time. So pleased that we're able to support you to come to ESCOS this year and enjoy the rest of the conference.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I really appreciate the support. I think it's something to like, something that is also not quite enough to be able to meet people and to be supported, and that is being made possible by ESCOLI.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, welcome, thank you very much. Thanks.

Speaker 1:
