Viewpoints
«Viewpoints» is the latest podcast and news magazine produced by the Community Radio Fund of Canada. It provides an overview of what’s happening across Canada, thanks to some 20 radio reporters posted across the country (British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, North West Territories, Québec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) and working for the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI). The Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) supports the production of original civic journalism news content that covers the diverse needs of underserved communities across Canada. Politics, society, environment, community, arts and culture take the air on «Viewpoints» hosted by Boris Chassagne. The Community Radio Fund of Canada works in collaboration with the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC).

On today’s show, we will have only positive news and stories for you. In small-town Liverpool, Nova Scotia, big hearts raise $16,000 for cancer research. To Québec, where a local organization encourages people with disabilities, to conquer Mount Orford during the 5th Edition of the Everest-Orford Challenge. To BC, where a portion of the downtown village of Nanaimo is returned to the Snuneymuxw First Nation. And a horse-drawn theatre caravan finds its first summer home. Giddyup!
Our journalists this week, Lauryn MacKenzie, Derek Bullard, Brenda Little, and Rick Conrad. National Editors Victoria Fenner and Maureen McEwan. Host and producer Boris Chassagne. Viewpoints is brought to you by the Community Radio Fund of Canada and your radio station.
