Newman has written a dozen books, including "Harrison Town", "There Is No God - Or Is There?", "Hope When Your Heart Breaks" and "Getting Through Grief" among others. He serves as president of the Texas District of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) church body.
