Black Coffee Northwest

Welcome to Episode 4 of Grounded Conversations by Black Coffee Northwest, an intergenerational conversation about ourselves, our blackness, our world, and our favorite drinks. Today’s episode is all about Health! We are so honored and excited to be able to talk with Dr. Margaret Towolawi of Nurture Well Center and SkinStatMD about Black health and skin care.

Tune in to hear:

  • Her journey to pursue medicine (even though she tried to avoid it!)
  • Her passion for Lifestyle medicine and it’s 6 pillars
  • The importance of plant-based eating especially in the Black community
  • How she developed her skin care line

Meet Dr. Towolawi

Dr. Margaret Towolawi is a double board certified  physician who has practiced for over ten years in the Seattle area. She is the founder of Nurture Well Center and SkinStatMD. She is originally from Los Angeles, but has called the Pacific Northwest her home for almost two decades. She is inspired by her patients who have taught her far more than she could ever teach them. She snorts when she laughs, loves fashion, enjoys putting her own spin on vegan recipes, and is constantly adapting with life’s lessons. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, mentoring students and exploring/participating in the arts. She is also a certified Zumba Basic 1 instructor.
