Welcome to episode #99 of the Building Great Lives podcast!

In this episode we’ll answer the intriguing question, what does God expect from us? Does He expect us to do the impossible.

We begin by exploring the significance of expectation in spiritual growth by drawing from Acts 3 and the miraculous healing of a lame man. Expectation is learned by our past experiences with God's faithfulness. Because He has in the past, we expect He will again. Expectation is a key ingredient to the miraculous. However, an often overlooked aspect to expectation, is God’s expectation of us!

So what does God expect from us? Mark 14:9 reveals a profound revelation. The story of the woman with the alabaster box answers the question—she did what she could. God doesn't expect us to do the impossible but rather what we can do.

Through biblical examples like the crossing of the Red Sea, the resurrection of Lazarus and Paul and Silas in prison, we learn: when we do the possible, God does the impossible.

We challenge listeners to assess their own actions—are they doing what they can? And we encourage them with the reminder that when we speak to our mountains, God will move them.
