Season 2 of the Creative Contemplation podcast returns with a discussion between host & creator, Suzanne Lago Arthur and Puerto Rican artist Jotham Malavé Maldonado about his work, his formation as an artist and his inspirations. Jotham Malavé Maldonado studied at the School of Plastic Arts of San Juan in the Department of Painting, from which he graduated with honors (Magna Laude, 2014). Upon graduation with an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts he was awarded prizes such as The Judith McGregor Caldwell Purchase Prize for the Academy's Permanent Collection and The Woodmere Art Museum Purchase Prize, and his work is included among their permanent collections. He has also had several exhibitions in museums such as the Museum of Art and Design of Miramar, Museum of Art of Caguas,  Museum of San Juan, Museum of Contemporary Art and in alternative spaces such as La Productora in Santurce,  Puerto Rico.  He currently lives and works in Philadelphia.

Suzanne Lago Arthur is a contemporary realist painter from Northern Virginia. Born in Puerto Rico to Cuban-American parents, her artistic explorations were nurtured from an early age by her family.

Through her paintings Suzanne explores the themes of beauty, transience and memory. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally in such venues as the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Art Museum of the Americas in Washington DC, the United States Interests Section, Havana, Cuba and in art galleries across the United States. She holds a BFA from the Corcoran School of Art and an MA in Museum Studies from George
