Lindsay: [00:00:00] Hello. Welcome to how to become a coach. I'm so glad you're here. , so I've been doing the live calls and I just want to say that as I just tweak it a little bit each time. I feel like it gets better and better. And I feel so called for the work that I do. And so I hope that the energy of, my ultimate goal of creating as many safe spaces for humans to just , come as they are and land wherever they are and be accepted and loved and celebrated.

, that really is my goal and as I go through this little slideshow with you, I really hope that that comes through because that's what matters to me is people feeling safe because safety is foundational for healing, for healing from trauma or letting, emotional wounds be released and different things like that.

And so we want to feel safe. And that's why my vision of every human becoming trauma informed. , feels so good and aligned for me because I see things happening so differently if [00:01:00] humans were trauma informed nervous system informed, understood the nervous system so that we can receive people who.

Who deserve to be seen and held and heard and celebrated and validated in their experience and so that we can feel that way in our communities and in our circles as well. Okay. So, without further ado, let's get going. I'm just gonna share my screen for this webinar. I named this call how to become a coach.

 But what if it's about becoming a certified trauma informed coach? And what would be different if we approached our coaching in that way? If the coaching industry shifted towards this trauma informed space where we see being trauma informed is essential so that we can meet our clients where they're at.

And there's so many different reasons why. I think this is important but I'll get into it and you'll know by the end of the call what I'm talking about. Exactly. Okay.

All right. So this call is for you. If you like helping people, this call is [00:02:00] for you. If you want to find a way to utilize your gifts, passion, while earning an income that supports yourself and your family.

This call might be for you if you know in your gut, in your heart of hearts that you're meant to do more, or meant to do something different. But really you feel like there's something else out there for you where you can utilize your gifts for your benefit, of course, and also for, , however you're wanting to impact humanity, this call might be for you.

If you've been through stuff, maybe you've been through a lot of tough stuff in your life. And maybe you didn't have the support that you had, but now that you've been through this stuff and you've healed, you want to be the guide that you didn't have.

That's something that I felt really deeply when I was going through my betrayal trauma and healing from so many different layers of trauma. Really. I just remember thinking, where was I like, where was the Lindsay? If I could have had me four years in the future. That's what I would have wanted.

I wanted to be that for other people. 

It might be for you if you want to be a part of a safe healing community, so there might be a lot of other reasons why you're here. And if you [00:03:00] want, you can put a question in the question box and tell me why you're here too, because my guess is that it's probably a fit as well.

Lindsay: And first off, I just want to share with you why this certification that I'm doing is unique, because I know there are a lot of certifications out there. But what I want to talk to you about today is that this certification is different because we don't isolate mindset work.

Okay. And so when we There are certifications, life coaching certifications that focus on mindset, mindset, mindset, and while that is important, and while that is a bridge, what I have noticed is if we only focus on one dimensional mindset, it's almost like we've got this spectrum of humanity , and someone finds, , finds a way for mindset work to work for them.

Right. And then they're like, oh, this works for me. It can work for everybody else. But what I feel like this one dimensional approach. Does is it creates this, it's just like a sliver in humanity. So it's an approach, but it's not the approach. 

Okay. Another [00:04:00] thing that I feel is really important and impactful is that classes are taught live. Okay. So 

when you are Consistently exposed to just normal behaviors because when we're isolated and we notice that we receive something one way and we don't think anyone else received something the other way, we might discount dismiss or think that something's off with us when we're in this group, just really normalizing how everybody receives things differently.

And being exposed to that consistently can really just dissipate so much shame and so many things so instantly. So these live calls are incredibly impactful, especially with respect to connection, which is a huge part of the healing process. Okay. Also you become a part of a community of coaches.

And being a part of this community is, Okay. It's awesome because it just, I feel like it creates this full circle experience where we really can when it comes to healing and connection, there's just something about being [00:05:00] live with people that can be so connecting. And so that's something that is really important to me.

And that's something that I do think distinguishes my certification from other people's. Now, the other thing is. That I take very seriously is the work of healing, the work of being a human, I take safety very seriously it's like the very first call is what we talk about, and I show you how to, create supportive environments like that for yourself and for your clients.

And also how to feed that in through, different calls by making sure we're creating this environment of safety, empowerment and choice for our clients. It's a huge deal. And there's so many beautiful ways to do that. And a really loving, compassionate place that will support your clients and creating safety for themselves, which is a really big deal.

So what we are going to cover today is what you need to know, or what you need to become a trauma informed coach, and not just any type of trauma informed coach, certified trauma informed coach.

 We're going to talk about mistakes people make when they try to start coaching [00:06:00] practices and what to do instead. Okay. And my promise today is.

One of today's challenges that I'm going to talk to you about. I'm going to talk about different challenges, but I think the overall theme is just noise noise. So many of us have been born and raised to be busy, [00:07:00] busy busy bodies and really just be up here and not here.

And while that can support certain systems , it doesn't support us in stepping into our power, okay? So, if we stay busy enough, yes it supports other people and their interests, but what about you? Okay? And when it comes to starting a practice, a coaching practice or a business, what I see, one of the big challenges, a big challenge is inadequate training.

Okay. I talked about why you might be here. You might be here because maybe you've been through a lot of tough stuff and you're like, I've been through it. I've been in it. I'm coming out of it. I've come out of it. I want to use this to help people. Yes, please. And let's make sure we couple your lived experience.

With appropriate training. Okay. Because when we assume what worked for us works for everyone again, it's not taking into account the spectrum of humanity. Right? Another challenge or another thing that I see sometimes is or that thing that people worry about is just this idea of the.

Growing industry. 

Another challenge [00:08:00] that people worry about is like technological advances. What about AI? What about this? Now you can just like type in three words and have a whole online program created for you. Thank you. How do I compete with that? Okay, another challenge is not having very much contextual understanding of.

Different groups, different subgroups, population different things like that. And that's, that is a challenge that I see with a lot of coaches starting out today. Okay. Now with challenges, of course there's opportunities. And of course there's a reality that, you could create for yourself.

It can be really positive and beneficial with each thing. First of all, yes, there are a lot of people out there who are inadequately trained, who don't know what they're doing. I really do think that having a trauma informed lens is the key to starting a successful coaching practice. And not only is it key the way that I teach it is a way that you're learning and you're self applying, okay?

And as you self apply, you're going to figure out how you want to teach and share [00:09:00] this stuff with other people, which is great. is a really big deal. Okay. And so, yes there are a lot of inadequately trained coaches out there. And yes, a quick answer is becoming trauma informed and knowing how to integrate and teach this to others and support the broad spectrum of clients that come your way.

Okay. And again, people might worry about a growing industry, right? But also, the thing is the collective consciousness of humanity is shifting It's rising and it's different and people are not only ready for more right to hire more coaches. I don't think coaches can meet, can even meet the current demand to be completely honest.

People are ready to go deeper too. Okay. So there might have been a time where just that one little dimensional mindset work was helpful. And I think for a lot of people, it's like it is a thing. It's like a bridge to bridge into the body work. And so. Yes, people are recognizing that this stuff [00:10:00] helps, and people are ready to go deeper.

People are ready to release stuff. People have been carrying stuff that's been passed down to them transgenerationally. So the more we can understand that as coaches and meet people where they're at. You are going to stand out as a coach and they're going to get the relief and the support and the grounding and the healing and everything that they need and deserve and want.

Okay. And then again, some people might worry about these technological advances, AI, different things like that. What I want to just offer is, first of all, As a solopreneur or what I like to say, a soulpreneur, um, , I wish I could say it. I coined that term. I came up with it live on a webinar, but when I went to the hashtag, it was already in there, so I'm not the only person.

I can't say I coined it, but, but anyway. As a solopreneur or a soulpreneur, you do a certain level of admin work when you're getting a business started and you can totally make this AI stuff work for you so you get to a place to, potentially build or scale or things like that.

[00:11:00] So I think you can use these technological advances for yourself. The other thing is y'all AI cannot replace your soul. Okay. And so, yeah, there might be more stuff, but souls, no souls. Even if someone coming to you and hiring you doesn't see it at that level, our unconscious has a knowing. Other people, too.

So you being able to access, those deeper parts of yourself and decide how to express or put that into the world in a way that feels safe for you. People will gravitate towards that. And of course, you will stand out. Amid the noise, right? There's plenty of noise, even without AI. So, all right.

And then the next one, as far as opportunity for think challenges that I see in the coaching industry, people not having enough context, contextual understanding. Yes, use let's use that lived experience because it's there. You've learned [00:12:00] from it. You've been in it. You might be in it. Right. You might be in it.

And let's couple that with training. And other contextual understanding. So we understand terms like intersectionality, feminism conditioning, socialization, or things like that, because sometimes for clients just having an understanding and having words to put to their lived experience is enough for whatever they were worried about to just dissipate, disappear.

And sometimes that's all they need. And then sometimes they need to go a little bit deeper. And sometimes they need to go a little bit deeper. But when you can be that person to help someone understand what they experienced by just providing language and context, having that information to support them as they share with you, it's huge.

It's so huge. And I see it is something so many coaches miss. Because they think all they need is this one dimensional tool, and they're good. Okay, so it's a [00:13:00] tool, but I just don't think it's the tool. That makes sense. And again, the tool, the trauma informed lens and tool that I teach in my coaching certification prop program.

It's multidimensional, because guess what, humans are multidimensional, so we want to make sure that we have a trauma informed approach to mindset work from the get go, and that's what I'm going to teach in my coaching certification, okay? So, a little bit about who I am, I feel like in a lot of ways, I went through this typical check the box lifestyle, right? Where, I grew up, in America, I grew up in a conservative community, and there was a check the box, like life laid out for me. And when I met my husband, he was kind of the same.

So we probably jived in that way. And we both really valued certainty. We both thought that there was a way for us and we. Met and dated and got married and we did all the things right. We checked off those boxes. I had just gotten my undergraduate degree. I got a very technical advanced degree while I was getting my technical advanced degree.

My husband was applying to demo [00:14:00] school, right? We both valued certainty. I used to be an accountant. He went into dentistry. I mean, does it get more like certain and reliable than those two careers? I'm, not sure but anyway So I got my advanced degree My husband got into dental school and I worked for a big four county firm in los angeles for three years had my baby and then I thought I was like kissing the working world.

Goodbye I had no problem with that, especially because I'd been a little bit of a slave for, three solid years. And then we had our second baby, my husband graduated, we had our second baby, and then we had our third baby. And my husband, we just moved to Utah, and my husband was about to buy into a dental practice.

We bought our house, we just had our third baby, it was the year for him to buy into a dental practice with this awesome partner. And then he came to me with a secret that he'd been holding for me. So he'd been lying to me about porn use for years and and I was devastated. And then within a week of that, he started having, within a week of that, he started having panic attacks and he became non [00:15:00] functioning and he's just stopped working.

 If you grew up in a high demand religion or in a super conservative religious community or something like that finding out that your husband's been lying about porn use can be. Can be very traumatizing and it was for me, I thought, even when it was just that I was so worried about the outlook of our marriage and our life and everything like that and then you couple that with suddenly he can't work anymore and then I was like, what's this world like?

What is this world that I live in? What just happened to everything I know? And so he's suddenly nonfunctioning. It almost felt like I had two newborns I had because there was him and he couldn't fall asleep by himself. He couldn't, he can't stay asleep. He needed help falling asleep. If I woke up to go feed my newborn, it would wake him up and then I'd have to feed her.

And then I have to back to our room and help him. It was so much. And then we had a two year old, we had a four year old. And on top of that, I was like, and I guess I have to figure out how to earn money now. Like I have to start working again. Like, what is this? [00:16:00] What's happening to my life?

And, luckily we had a little bit of savings. So I had some time to think through, but I realized within two or three weeks of him not working, that he was not going back anytime soon. Cause he was just. He had a bunch of childhood trauma coming to a head. So basically, within six months, it took about six months to get him stabilized with medication.

So if you guys have partners with mental illness, I feel you that way. The game can be hard, or if it's you, I feel you and I see you and it's hard. And so it took six, six months with a very brilliant psychiatrist to get him stabilized, and then within six months, he started having flashbacks and had to work for a bunch of childhood stuff.

And it was hard and so I'm helping my husband, try and figuring how to support him while he heals from his childhood trauma, but also figuring out how to support myself, which I wasn't even thinking about myself because I was socialized to have him be the sun and maybe the planet resulting revolving around the sun.

So, in my head at the time, I thought if we can get him better than I'm good. [00:17:00] But then what would happen is if he didn't get better when he wasn't getting better on my timeline, two years go by and he's still not working. I was pretty frustrated, right? Because I didn't have control. And so it was really frustrating.

But I also learned a lot about myself. And, I got to a low point where I just remember being like. I got to figure myself out like this. This is too much like this. I can't control him. I can't change. So how do I figure out me, and I've been doing therapy at the time, and it took me to a certain space but I remember just.

Asking my therapist once is this it? Is this always going to be a thing? Is this Pornhube's always going to be a thing? Will it always be a thing in our lives? And she, and I remember her just looking at me with this pitying look, like, yeah, kind of like a once an alcoholic, always a sober alcoholic type thing.

And I remember just thinking no, there has to be more than this. Life of apathetic acceptance. And of course there was more to it. I have my babies and things like that but I just remember thinking like there has to be more and that's when I found coaching. And so I found coaching and I went through [00:18:00] certification and it was awesome, but I realized I always coach a little bit differently because I was working with women in betrayal trauma.

And then what happened is coaches started hiring me for lots of things that were not betrayal trauma with. respect to porn use, right? There were coaches coming out of other coaching programs who had come away, discounted, dismissed and harmed. 

Everyone, people were coming to me for help with their personal experiences. And then when I started seeing is like, Oh, it was trauma thing. Yeah. Isn't just specific to betrayal, like humans are carrying trauma everywhere. So let's make sure we approach every client with this trauma informed lens so that they can be witnessed and feel validated and heal and work through whatever it is that's coming up for them.

And so whether you're a business coach, a weight loss coach, a betrayal trauma coach, like whatever coach you are, if you're a web designer that helps. Coaches get their websites out trust me, it comes up, it comes up no matter what your niche is.

And so the more coaches that have this understanding, the [00:19:00] more we'll just support clients and meet them where they're at. Because a lot of people, when they reach out to a coach for help, they don't know they're carrying trauma. They don't know that it's potentially past traumas holding them back. And so the more that we can know, the more we can support them.

And putting appropriate language to their lived experience so that they can have the support that they need to heal. Okay. And I just want to be really clear. This isn't us as coaches doing trauma therapy. This is us being trauma informed so we know what we can do and also when to bring in conductive support.

Okay. And that really matters. And that's the other thing that I see with a lot of coaches is they don't know what they don't know and they don't want to know what they don't know. Okay, but then when people are coming and having trauma response and things like that on call, they don't even know what to pick up on.

That's a problem, right? Okay, so basically, once I started seeing all these parallels, I just thought. All right, we've got to get as many coaches educated on trauma as possible. And at the same time [00:20:00] I had a colleague friends reach out to me and she was just like, what are you doing? I want to work. I want to do whatever it is you're doing.

And I told her my idea for coming up with a certification and she was a trauma, therapist and she was like, wow. How do I get on board with this? And so she and I put the curriculum together for an advanced relationship trauma certification for coaches.

And then what started happening is I had past clients who weren't coaches want to do my advanced, but then they had to go find a certification. And so that's what gave me the idea to just help people have a one, one place for a certification so they can learn a trauma informed mindset from the get go, but also just include all this information while self applying while integrating.

And being a part of a beautiful community of loving humans. Okay, so as I share my story, just kick back and ask yourself, like, how do I relate to this? Right? Like, how do I relate? For me I guess the part that I didn't share with you is that.

I [00:21:00] was working two part time accounting jobs, one in Silicon Valley and one for public accounting firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. And I just remember thinking like, okay, if I can't be with my kids and if I need to work, I need more. I need something that fuels my soul that I'm passionate about, that feels like an outlet and not a drain.

And while I believe that there are plenty of accountants who experienced that with accounting, it wasn't me. And that's when I found. Coaching as well, because I realized that, when I chose my degrees back in 2000 I didn't know I had a choice to pick something. I just loved.

I thought I just have a skill and something I could do as a mom. And while that worked, especially when my husband was sick, I realized in the long run, if I'm going to be working for, 20 plus years, I have to be doing something that fuels my soul. And so this. Yeah.

 And so just think about that. How do I relate to this? How do I relate to this story? What does this mean to me? What am I doing? Am I [00:22:00] in corporate right now? And I want to switch it up. Have I not been working for a long time and I want to get into something like this.

Just think about it because it was all scary. It could be scary either way. It really can leaving corporate. Has its own animal, but also not having a resume or have, doing something or having a degree in something totally different or not having a degree and getting into this entrepreneurship thing has its own.

It has its own little blocks as well. And so just know that it's possible if you have a desire to do it, if you have a desire to do something. Big or different with your life, that desire that you're not wanting that curiosity is there because it's God given it's source given and that's the beauty of just being curious and letting yourself want because it's possible.

So let's kind of shift gears a little bit. You've heard a little bit about me. I'll share a little bit more about me, but I'm still talking to you about. [00:23:00] What you need to become a certified trauma informed coach. Okay. I've been in this world for a while and, when you really peel it back.

This is what I see. I think we need to have a trauma informed mindset with appropriate training. Like, I'm just going to say it. I think it's essential. We need to, you need to be willing, like, if you want to get into this like sphere and this world of being a coach and support people with their healing, If you don't like self applying, if you don't like growth, like self growth, self help, self development, if you don't want to apply this in any way, and you're just thinking, oh, here's a business idea, I would advise maybe going a different route because when I see the coaches that.

That I see making the difference that they want to be making our coaches that walk the walk, right? They're learning tools and they're applying tools, okay? And you can do that in a really safe, lovely way. And so don't think that you have to jump into a certification have to get it all figured out.

It's more just like open [00:24:00] to self application, self awareness, self integration. Because that's what's going to help you stand out as a coach. If you apply this stuff, then you can know how to work it for people who May think like you or grew up in certain bubbles, similar social bubbles and things like that Okay, you need to be willing to edge Edging is this idea of knowing where your growth zone is But also making sure you're aware of your cute little nervous system and keeping yourself safe So knowing when to edge out into discomfort, but also knowing where those limits like knowing how to find those safe limits Right.

And so it's kind of like, developing out muscles.? If I never push to discomfort. Am I going to develop my muscles in the way that I want to, and it's this developing out, whatever it is you want to develop out with respect to your business. Okay. And you need to learn how to create enough safety in your body to put yourself and put your work out in the world.

Okay. And the way I like to think about this is more of like a, it's not like a, you have to. Learn all this more like let's return to this. [00:25:00] Hey, you came to this earth connected. You came to this earth. Most of you came feeling some level of safety in your body. And so it's my approach isn't like we got to figure all this out.

It's let's return to what we know. It's what we knew. Okay, and the more we can anchor into that easier it is to let yourself be seen in a way that's supportive of you. Of course, safety always gets to take the priority. Okay, some of the mistakes that I see people make is they don't understand trauma.

And they don't understand how it affects people, and then they use my mindset work to do harm. I have seen that so much over and over again. Okay, another big mistake is that people consume, but don't self apply and integrate. People don't know how to meet people where they're at. And also people try to do it alone.

So I'm going to talk a little bit, speak a little bit more to each of these. So again, when people don't understand trauma and how it affects people and then they use that mindset to do harm, if this is you, or if this is someone you know[00:26:00] it makes sense that this happens, because again, when we've grown up in different privilege bubbles or a different certain society.

There's certain circles or things like that. We've all been raised to think like the people that we grew up with. And of course, there's going to be limitations and each little circle and each bubble. And of course, there's overlap, but when we project and think that what works for us is going to work for others.

And then when it doesn't, we think something's wrong with them. And they're socialized. I think something's wrong with them. Yes, it can absolutely do harm. Okay. And so we want to make sure we're aware and of, terms like societal conditioning and socialization and, how so many women are, they internalize what they've experienced externally in the world, they internalize that and develop that relationship with their body.

And so we want to be aware of these things that can happen so we can support our clients in the shifting away from things they want to shift away from. [00:27:00] All right, so again, the strategy, my opinion, acquiring a trauma informed lens, seeing humanity in a different light. It's nice to see humanity in a different light, especially with a trauma informed lens like Also seeing yourself in a different light because you matter.

And so even if this is just for you and your own well being, you deserve to see yourself in a different light and in a way where you can just have so much compassion for yourself and love and acceptance right where you are. Okay. And of course that's going to overflow and how you understand the others, but you get to have that piece for yourself as well.

Okay. It gets to be about you. And just trust me that you taking care of you is going to set up an environment where the impact usually sustainably supports others, like I would say, I don't know, I said usually almost pretty much always is more supportive and sustainable for others, but you just get to let it be about YouTube.

Okay. And you're going to take up the space of the human too. And acquiring a trauma informed lens is a piece in all of this. Okay. [00:28:00] So quick case study, what I'm going to speak to real quick is I talked about the importance of acquiring a trauma informed lens. And I'm going I think on her podcast and I think online. And what she realized the missing piece for her with that was leading to a lot of suffering and pain was that she wasn't trauma informed and she was reaching out, but people helping her weren't trauma informed. And so when she learned about trauma, Lots of stuff changed.

And she runs a coaching practice that brings in over a million dollars a year. And once she realized how much this made a difference for her, she was like, I need my coaches to be trained too. And so now she makes it a priority that she only hires trauma informed coaches. Okay. So she started as a client.

She got the results and healing that she needed. And then she made sure that all of her coaches are trauma informed as well, and it's been so fun to [00:29:00] see where she's continuing to go with a lot of this expertise with respect to her business. So another mistake, like I said, is consuming but not self applying and integrating. Of course, this makes sense because societally we're taught to be up here, especially as women, but probably as men too.

I'm just, I'm, I've been socialized as a woman, so I can relate to that more, but I know plenty of men who have been. Socialize, definitely socialize to be up here and only show emotions if it's anger, right? So this is something that impacts all of us. But again, what happens is when we're taught to live up here and it's consumption phase, we can even use self help to our disadvantage where we're consuming self help, but we're not applying and integrating.

And it just makes sense because we're socialized and conditioned to live up here. And be more [00:30:00] robot humans than to be feeling intuitive humans. And if it feels scary to just think about that connection with the body, also normal, because there have been phases in time where people who are intuitive and more powerful.

And taking up space with respect to their knowing and their power and their intuition were killed for it. And so that stuff gets passed down. It's the survivors who may have had to keep quiet that survived and not keep quiet or that. Oh, don't go in here. Don't access that. Those genes can get passed down like seven generations.

So, I'm not saying that all of us here are privy to people who stay quiet. Of course not. But like having contextual understanding for why it might be scary to go. To connect to yourself, connect to your body, just know that it makes sense. Okay. And being in our body is that's where our power lies, our creativity lies, our intuitive knowledge lies, our knowing all of that deep, deep, good stuff that is, that does change the world.

That's what we [00:31:00] want to be able to access. Okay. Because once you access that, that's just something that can't be taken away. And Bye. And that's the part that can't be copied or mimicked, right? You are your own brand. You are your own modality. And so the more you're able to let that out, that's what's going to help you stand out the coach.

Okay. So again, in my program, we do more than learning and consuming. Yes. There's so much information. I have like a 350 page workbook and it's big, and there's a lot of information. And this program is not about. Simply simple consumption. Okay. We paste things out and there's self application and integration throughout the entire program because that's what matters and it gets to be on your own lovey lovey healing timeline.

Okay. Now. Speaking of, this challenge of consumption, but not not self applying and integration, Jen, and again, her testimonial is going to be on the affiliate link that I provided at the end of the call, and her testimonial is on my website as well, and it's a video one, [00:32:00] but she talked about how she went through multiple trauma certifications and read a bunch of stuff on trauma, but she never found stuff that she said it was theory, but no framework or clarity on how to apply it.

And then the test, she talks about how she shows up in her personal relationships differently. And she knows how to pour clients differently because not only was she learning that, learning the trauma informed framework, but she was also learning how to apply. And that's a really big part of why this program is unique.

Mistake number three people don't know how to meet people where they're at. And this makes sense because, again, when I, just as I referred to these little social bubbles or privilege levels. Yes, it's overlap, but even within these bubbles, like I say privilege bubble, but within each privilege bubble, there's and I go deeper in this in my, I have models and things like this that talk about this terminology that make it easier for you to understand.

But even within a privilege bubble, there's oppression happening and there's different intersectional points. And so when we realize [00:33:00] that, and we can see and hold space for this idea that yes, I might have grown up in a very privileged way, but also stuff was wrong here, too, right? And so when you can hold space for what your experience was, and maybe what it wasn't and really validate and see that it's just going to help you it's going to really help you recognize that other people's lived experience experiences are going to be across this broad spectrum and be so different.

And so we want to make sure that we're just aware of that. So we can meet our clients where they're at. Okay. And then again, this is where this contextual understanding of it. Diversity, equity, inclusion, feminism emotional abuse, like being willing to talk about this stuff or say these words.

That's another thing I don't see in the coaching industry, but it's so prevalent. So if it's so prevalent and we're not talking about it, then sure, people are getting like surface hits and surface fixes, but what about the deep stuff? And humanity is ready for the deep stuff. It's coming up. It's coming to the [00:34:00] surface.

Let's make sure we can meet our clients where they're at with our trauma informed lens. Okay. All right. So again, the strategy is being willing to be uncomfortable as we learn this stuff, because sometimes it can be a little bit uncomfortable, but also loving and radically accepting yourself where you're at.

And so that it's just this idea of edging to and knowing what makes sense for you to learn. With, I say this with respect to contextual understanding, but also with an entrepreneur. Putting yourself out there, developing out your edge and hitting new growth edges. It's a thing and it's going to be uncomfortable.

And the more you are just aware that that's part of it, the more you can approach your edges differently and not think something's gone wrong. OK, so just knowing, hey, I'm going to cross a lot of growth edges like there are going to be different thresholds. They're going to be hard each time. And. It's another one and I can do it.

I know how to approach it because I've done it this way. Okay, and this can all be [00:35:00] done while honoring your nervous system. I'm such a proponent of like ease and comfort and pleasure and rest for your body. Everyone has their own timelines of different things,  like I have clients who've made multiple figures, multiple years in a row and they're realizing I actually need to take a sabbatical here.

You know, like, oh, I need to do that. And when you can be anxious enough in yourself to be willing to do that and just take space to like, be a human and winter for a little bit because our bodies are meant to be seasonal, just like the season. And so when we can be. in tune with that, then we can recognize that seasonality to and know when we, when it does make sense to push through a growth edge, but also when it makes sense to rest and recover, which is so important as women.

Okay. This is on my website too, but this is just a client who talked about how. Basically how she thinks everybody should be trauma informed and how she feels so much more safe and secure in sessions with her clients when stuff comes up because she used to be [00:36:00] afraid of what she would say or not say or do or not do to support her clients and, she was so afraid of doing harm that she wouldn't know how to show up for her clients and how that's shifted since she has gone through the program.

Okay, so you can read the full testimonial online, of course, but for time's sake, I'm just going to keep going. Okay, and another big mistake. Y'all, we are here to be connected to humanity.

Okay, so it makes sense that we try to do it alone. It might make sense because you think I'm an entrepreneur, I'm a solopreneur, but we want you to find people that you can do this, go through this journey and experience, but we really do. And that's the goal of the communities that I'm creating.

So you can have support too, so that when you're a belief in yourself, ebbs and flows, your BFFs, like your coaching BFFs or business BFFs, they will sustain that for you. Okay. And I want to show you other ways to have that sustained support and realize that as. You are being a human, right? And going through these growth edges.

Okay, so it's not all linear. [00:37:00] Okay, and just understanding that's normal, too. Okay, so we're going to learn connection to self through self trust triad, which is a tool that I developed to help people understand themselves and their bodies more and tease more stuff out and develop that deep self connection.

Okay, that's going to affect it. You're how you connect with people that's going to affect how you connect with yourself and the more easily you can connect and accept and love yourself where you're at, the more easily you'll be able to find your people into the same and the more easily they'll be able to find you, your people will be able to find you.

Okay. So some community support is huge. It's so huge. This is why I have a community because I really want people to feel like they can come as they are and be and just exist and have this space where they can come and feel safe and loved and just have a safe landing pad where they don't have to do anything differently except be themselves and be celebrated for that.

That matters. And you deserve that wherever you are. You [00:38:00] deserve to be celebrated for who you are right now in this moment. And this is part of why I do international retreats and why I do retreats and things like that is because doing things live and connected as much as I love live calls and they're so profoundly impactful as far as this instructional stuff is concerned.

And it's a way to, meet a lot of people where they're at, who are around the world at different time zones. Having opportunities to meet live is also just this beautiful full circle moment. So I hope to have a reasonable amount of retreats and things set up and opportunities to connect and communicate live, whether it's like quarterly follow up calls or, international retreats for people who like doing that kind of stuff.

Okay. So I'm going to hurry and just go through some slides. I'm going to just talk really briefly about what has changed for me. We might go about five minutes over and I hope that's okay for y'all, but I'm going to just share like what has changed for me. And as I'm saying this, I want you to think what could change for [00:39:00] me, what's possible for me.

Okay. So this isn't for me to share look at my cool, glamorous lifestyle. I'm still a human and being a Transcribed by https: otter. ai But it helps me feel alive in my human experience and empowered and safe and and I know how to work through stuff as it comes up. I know how to work through traumas.

I know where to go. I know when it's me where I can support myself through feeling something and I know when it makes sense to reach out and to get support too. So as I share some of the stuff that has worked for me, I want you to ask yourself, what could change for me? What's possible for me?

Okay. So big thing. Again, I'm going to go through this kind of quick. I learned how to feel. I learned how to connect deeply with myself, with my body. This is a picture right after big grief cry. So I'm not trying to show you like how it's all like lovey dandelions and daisies but like I know when there's grief to process.

I know [00:40:00] when there's anger to process and I know how to process and move stuff through. And I know when it makes sense to reach out and have support in processing. And I know when I can do it myself and I have all these amazing tools for how to do it thematically, but also to know when to do it written and all of these different ways.

So it's I know how to handle myself when stuff comes up. I know when it's. I need a friend. I know when I just need someone to listen. So I can really live from here and not up here. Okay. I'm a lot less frustrated. I will tell you before I found coaching. I was very frustrated with my husband and him not following through on his promise for me to never have to work again.

So while, there was this big phase where we were working on survival and getting him medicated and helping him, work through his trauma. And then, two years went by and I was working my two part time jobs and trying to manage everything and it was a lot and there was mindset stuff that I was able to implement myself that helped me be so much less.[00:41:00] 

Frustrated. Okay. So I know so much more when to drop things, how to drop things, how to shake things off when it makes sense to write something out or shake something out. So a lot less frustration. Okay. See this little girl. Aww. So much healing for younger Lindsay. Younger Lindsay didn't have the, didn't always have the parental support that she needed.

And it was a capacity thing by her parents. And I don't disparage my parents for that. They're their own people, too, with their own things. And I don't have to wait for them to heal, right? We don't have to wait for our parents to heal for us to heal. We can be that proactive, responsible adult that supports our younger selves that didn't have the support that they needed.

Okay. Now, if you're a parent watching, I don't want you to think that you weren't ever responsible. It just makes sense. Like, part of being a human is carrying trauma, and I'm sure my kids are gonna, like, You know, from things [00:42:00] that I did or didn't do, right? And so please know, we can normalize this, but not discount so much that we're not making sure our little younger selves are completely seen and validated witness.

So I'm going to show you through my tools, how to do this for yourself. So I have a way that I teach it. You get to see it on 10 processing calls throughout the program and learn it for yourself and make it your own.

It's pretty beautiful. Okay. What's changed me? Pleasure. I created so much more pleasure. Like now that I let myself be alive in my life. Okay. I go, I will go on a girl's trip and I won't feel guilty. And I won't think, like, how do I earn my girls trip by making sure I put enough meals in the freezer for my husband or things like that?

I'm happy to do things like that, but it's not this earn my vacation type thing, okay? So there's just, I feel like I've been able to live into a more pleasurable life, which is actually just as important for humans as digestion. You might think, what the hell is she talking about? I'll explain more [00:43:00] about it in my program.

Okay i've been able to create again I'm, not trying to sell this like glitzy glam thing. Like you can have it all. I think you can have whatever your particular Dream or pleasurable life is you absolutely can. And what I want to share is i've been able to  be a big part of having a flexible lifestyle so I can do things with my family.

I've always wanted. Okay. This is just off on a walk one night. This is us finishing up a hike somewhere in Italy. And this is in Switzerland, I think in Vermont. And the way that I was taught when I was trying to make a decision for college degrees, I just had to pick something supportive.

Okay, so I didn't know that I could help people and have flexibility like that wasn't available. Cool. Back when I was choosing degrees and it, and maybe for my husband either. And we both switch things out professionally enough so that we can have the flexibility that we want to co parent and to support each other in our businesses and things like that.

And I love that I have the flexibility that I want to, scale back in the summer when my kids are home or scale back during Christmas or, and set up my programs [00:44:00] to work around that and build a business that works around me and not. Build a life up around a business. Okay. My relationship, my partner, it just keep getting better and better.

So,  I could go way deeper on this and it could be a whole video, but a lot of your emotions can change without certain circumstances changing. And in my program, we get more into like value and things like that, where sometimes we do want to honor the stuff that comes up in our bodies because it can be a sign and a signal of.

Values and value sets and things like that being crossed and boundaries as well. Okay, so I've been able to do this and make sure I'm maintaining appropriate boundaries because the goal isn't to just be a doormat and find happiness no matter what, right? We're humans. We're not robots. All right.

 So again, as I speak to this, what Is it for you? What's possible for you? What things do you want to be different in your life?

What relationship, if you had a big sticky relationship and you [00:45:00] knew if that relationship changed, everything else would change, everything else would trickle down and it would be that much better. What would that be and what could be different? And not only what could be different, what could be different beyond you may not even have capacity to even imagine right now.

So just imagine what could be different for you. And let yourself open up to possibility and go beyond that. Also, that can be scary to that cute little brain of yours. Okay. And so you can, again, just make sure you're checking in you might have a freak out part, like, no, no, things just check in with what you know, okay? And how you're feeling as you listen to this call and things like that. So you have any little freak out parts, just ask, what do I know?

What do I know? You can even close your eyes, right? You can put your hands over your eyeballs because 80% of our sensory experience is visual. So even just closing your eyes can help you feel into what you know about what your next step might be. Okay. You can also commit to talk to a trusted person.

Good answer is if maybe you do talk to me, maybe you want to talk to someone else as well. And I would just advise if you talk to a trusted person, find someone who has a similar life that you want, or who has done, who's an entrepreneur or something like that, who's done something like this, who, where it's like the fruits of what they're doing is similar to what the, the fruits of what you want.

And get ideas or insider support from them too. Okay. [00:48:00] All right. And again, we, since we're over time, these are the strategies, trauma informed mindset, being able to self apply and support your, to support yourself and your clientele, right? We're not just consuming, we're integrating. Okay. And then strategy three, learn how to edge, strategy four, developing out.

Oh, I say that twice. Oh, the connection with people. So again, developing out the safety so you can connect with yourself, connect with others with safety as a priority, and really develop out a super loving, connected community for yourself because we all were a relational species were meant to be connected to each other.

All right, first question. How much time should I plan for every week? How much do I need to commit to set aside to make this happen?

I have a full time job. Okay, so I'm again, I'm going to just keep saying it over and over. I'm a huge believer in Supporting your nervous system and making sure we're not overdoing it and so the way it works for my trauma informed coach certification is just plan on one call a week on Tuesdays.

Okay. And then one to two times a month, you'll have processing calls. So throughout the duration of the program. You're going to have calls on Tuesdays, except for like certain holiday weeks and things like that. So that's going to be consistent [00:51:00] one a week. And those are going to be recorded. Okay. And then there's going to be 10 Thursdays throughout the duration of your instructional section of the program.

That's going to have processing calls and what the processing calls are coaching calls where you get to watch me. Coach others in a small group and see how we use and apply these different tools and things like that. So super beneficial because you can watch me do it with you. You can watch me do the deep processing, with yourself or with others, whoever volunteers to get coached.

And then after that, you get like a peer coaching. And that's even more flexible because that could be on your schedule.

Okay, next question. Is there a test at the end? Yes, I do have a certification exam, open book, there are, there's no time limit. And the goal, I've done enough real life academia stuff, I've done the CPA exams, I passed all those I, got my undergraduate very technical economics degree, my graduate degree was technical accounting, I've done enough of that academia [00:52:00] where I've been in part of that I could do enough of that academia world where.

Some professors goal and job is to be provide barriers to entry or make sure a certain amount of people get bad grades. These tests are here to support you and becoming trauma informed. So it's the goal is like, it's open book. It's here to support you. We want to help, want to make sure that you have internalized this up to a degree, but I'm not here to trick you. 

So I think so far everyone that has taken the test and my advanced certifications every person has passed, taken it. So really, we're doing everything we can to make it as supportive for you. Okay, I want the workbook is like 350 pages and going, but that doesn't mean you have to read it all to take the test either.

Okay. There's, there are foundational, but there is foundational material that's on the instructional calls. Okay, and then I have online videos and audios and things like that in a portal, because you're all going to get access to a portal when you do the program, so you're going to have tons of information, but it's not there to [00:53:00] confuse you and it's not there for you to get into like over conceptual land.

It's there. The reason the workbook is as big as it is there's a chunk of it that's like more of a On screen text. Referral source for you as you go on, because fire gazing information isn't gonna set you up for learning what you need to learn. So we're gonna learn at an appropriate pace for you and your body.

And then you have this awesome reference book that as I update it, you get access to the updated versions as well. Okay. Oh, okay. What about after what? What happens after the program? Okay, because I value community so much after the program, we have, as guided by my intuition, you're going to have access to community calls, whatever those might look like.

Right now, what those look is we do workshops every few months with with people that I, where I see a need for some sort of contextual understanding to be taught. It might be, how to pick up on OCD with a client or what is ADHD? Mental illness and clients and things like that.

Or I had someone come in and talk about the power [00:54:00] of like potent and novel movements. I had someone come in and talk about, I've had people come in and talk about intuition. So we bring in other experts because while I am here providing you this trauma informed lens, The more people that you can expose yourself to, the more you're going to be able to just keep taking these truth nuggets that resonate with you and really build on that.

Okay. So right now I have a chakra expert coming in every month this year to do chakra healing calls. And she started at the root and she's going up, pushing up to the crown. We have all of those reported for you so that if you want access you can sign up and have access to those immediately.

 I have a tapping expert that's coming in every month this year. So different things like that in the future, if we're not doing those calls, we're going to have quarterly catch up calls.

And also for the first year after you finish, I'm aiming to have monthly business coaching available to you through other coaches who have built six or seven month practices. Right now, the plan is to pick four and just rotate through them, have them each do one, one a quarter.

And also have this space where you don't have to get it all figured out just be open and easy and flowy.

But I feel like that kind of got answered with respect to the how much time should I plan for? So I feel like it's pretty flexible. All the instructional calls are recorded.
