Today's episode is all about the phrase "feeling edgy." This topic was requested by one of our students, so thank you for the suggestion! I’'ll be discussing what this phrase means, how it's used in conversation, and I’'ll also have a practice question for you to answer. So let's get started!
So first off, what does "feeling edgy" mean? Well, when someone says they're feeling edgy, it means they're feeling nervous, anxious, or on edge. It's a way of describing a feeling of discomfort or unease.
Now, how is this phrase used in conversation? Here are a few examples:
Example 1:
"I have a big presentation today, and I'm feeling really edgy about it."
Example 2:
"I’m going on a date tonight and I'm really nervous. I’m feeling super edgy right now."
Example 3:
John has an important job interview in a few hours, but he is feeling too edgy to concentrate on preparing for it. He is going to take a walk outside to clear his head and calm his nerves before going back to his interview prep.
As you can see, this phrase is often used when someone is experiencing some sort of stress or anxiety. It's a way of expressing and acknowledging discomfort.
