14 BIG MOVIE DAYS!!!

The Commentary:

KNEECAP. A trio of Irish rappers, inadvertently hit the local big-time, despite and against all odds. If you have seen the trailer we’ve been running you will know that this is a fast paced, stunningly visual music video with a familiar plot. Michael Fassbender being the ‘name’ thespian, and supported by what appears to be the entire young population of Belfast, Dublin and Inisherin.

GYPSY SOUL. I have repeated  “I’m Calling In” as an example of their style and technical proficiency. If you need any further inducement, check out their entire catalogue and touring schedule at GypsySoul.com. And btw, Cilette Swann, the vocalist of the duo, is a former Islander. Get tickets at Farawayentertainment.com to ensure your seat for this one-time special event.

DIDI. In 2008, during the last month of summer before high school begins, an impressionable 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy learns what his family can't teach him: how to skate, how to flirt, and how to love your mom. DIDI brings a 7.9 rating on IMDB to the HLT for a short five day run.

CENSORED IN HOLLYWOOD. Written and produced by the Far Away Entertainment film historian, Prof James Forsher, this is a look at the stone age of Hollywood,  We have come a long way. See how far on Sunday, the 15th at 4.

THE MATRIX 25TH ANNIVERSARY. Neo is back having spent the last 25 years inside the Grid seeking answers to the big questions. Has he been successful? Does this one stand the test of time?  Three shows only. Friday, 9.19 and Sunday 9.22.

MAYA and the WAVE. The incredibly inspiring story of Maya Gabeira who after a brush with death makes history in the male-dominated world of big wave surfing.

BOOM - THE SONICS. For the music lovers among us (the many) this retrospective look at one of Seattle’s pioneering rock groups, The Sonics, promises to engaged and is ready to rock. They were slightly ahead of my time, but did you know that our own Soundgarden bassist, Big Ben Shepard, once did a few studio sessions and live gigs with them????? No? Well then come on out on Saturday to celebrate Ben’s Birthday with a viewing of this cool dadio doc.

5K RUN FOR DEMOCRACY WTH GREG NANCE. Greg will lead a friendly jaunt at the Parade Grounds starting at 0900. It is FREE. After everyone has finished, we’ll head down to the HLT for some electrolyte replacements and a FREE screening of PREFONTAIN  arguably the best pure running movie ever assembled. (Chariots of the Fire is way too slow). Must one run in order to watch? No. Should you attend the FREE screening and hear Greg talk about the importance of the upcoming elections? YES. Absolutely and positively yes.

Enough for now. As always, should you need more detail on any of the above, call me at 206.451.4336, night or day, 24/7.

Love ya,

Kevin
