| Monday 12 | Right, this is important! There’s a foodbank food collection box in Tisbury at the Co-op. Donations of non-perishable food that’s suitable for including in emergency food parcel are desperately needed. Pet food, nappies and toiletries are also needed.
| Tuesday 13 | · Tisbus is doing a shopping trip to Salisbury on Tuesday. To book a seat, call Dave on 07500 802525. · Well, we’re getting close to panto season in Tisbury and local actors in the Tisbury Arts Group are in rehearsal for the village’s traditional January panto which this year, is Rapunzel directed by Judy Fitzpatrick. 26-28 January 2023 at The New Vic@Tisbury. | Wednesday 14 | The Tisbury Memory Group has a festive pop-up cafe this Wednesday at the Hinton Hall from 10.30am-12 noon. There will be Christmas music, games and tasty nibbles to enjoy. You can just turn up. More info call: Anne Marie 07704783742. .
| Thursday 15 | · Tisbury & District Natural History Society members are having their Christmas knees-up at the New Vic@Tisbury in the Victoria Hall on Thursday at 7pm. Complementing a free glass or two of Debbie and Andrew Carter’s home-made plum mulled wine and mince pies, there’s a great talk from local young naturalist, ornithologist and wildlife enthusiast, Izzy Fry on the Hows Whats and Whys of Bird Ringing plus a voting on the winning submissions of the Wildlife Photography Competition. If you’re planning on going, you need to let contact Richard Budden on 07944 640 900, to ensure there’s lashings of mulled wine and mince pies. · Don’t forget that Thursday is also late-night shopping on Tisbury High Street from 4-7pm. Studio Zest has asked me to tell you that they will have mulled Cider and local stalls raising money for a nearby woman’s refuge.
| Friday 16 | · Messums has an exhibition this month on the work of young Irish still life and landscape painter Hannah Mooney (b.1995). Entry is free and there’s a nice café on site. Open on Friday from 10am – 5pm. Contact: www.messumswiltshire.com
| Saturday 17 | · On Saturday, 17th December at 10:30AM there’s a Young Nature Watch for a Winter Wreath Workshop. There’ll be a foraging walk around the hall first, followed by a return to the hall to assemble your own wreath out of natural materials. A £5 donation is suggested. Contact: youngtnhs@gmail.com · Santa Claus is coming to town…. At the Tisbury Community Garden has it’s Christmas Party on Saturday from 2-4pm in the Hinton Hall. I understand that Father Christmas will be the guest of honour and will be giving special presents to boys and girls who have been nice and not naughty this year. Tickets £5 children, adults free.
