In Memory of Dennis Quijano: Celebrating a Life Well Lived
Jan 12, 2024 Season 1 Episode 2
With Michael Kane

The sudden loss of a loved one can rip through the fabric of our lives, leaving us to grapple with an unsettling silence where once there was music. Today, I'm drawing back the curtain on the heartache that has swept through our family with the unexpected passing of our nephew, Dennis Quijano. His life, an intricate melody of beats and rhythms, was a testament to living fully and joyfully. Through stories and memories, we'll explore how Dennis's exuberant spirit as a drummer and DJ inspired all who knew him and how, even in grief, we find a resounding call to live with purpose, to reconcile, and to love without hesitation.

This episode is more than a memorial; it's a beacon for those navigating the murky waters of loss. We'll touch on the echoing absence Dennis leaves behind, especially for his 12-year-old son, and how the community can rally in support. Reflecting on the legacy of a man who was a burst of light in so many lives, we'll discuss ways to channel Dennis's unwavering positivity into our own lives. As we move forward into January 2024, let's carry his beat in our hearts, his joy in our steps, and honor his memory by embracing the precious, unrepeatable moments we're given.

Speaker 1:

Hello there, this is Living your Success 24-7 with Michael Cain. I hope all is well. I'm going to. This episode is going to be a little different, a lot different from previous podcasts and shows. This one is a little more challenging because it's centered around losing a great man her nephew, and he just recently, a day ago, he passed away unexpectedly, and so my topic is the chat about that. But as far as living your purpose making a priority out of really what you want to do in this life because life is not guaranteed there's no promises I may have heard the biblical expression tomorrow's not promise. It really isn't.

Speaker 1:

And when someone close to you passes away, it serves as a wake-up call that it hits you right in the face, almost literally hit you right in the face. Say how this could be. Right now. The family's in shock. Family and friends are in shock, total disbelief. Young man in his 30s gone, just like that. It's unbelievable.

Speaker 1:

This is a fiction, seems like a fiction story that something that somebody made up and forced it upon all of us to just accept. Young man with a bright future, good guy, good guy. Dennis Ijano he's a drummer musician, very good one at that. He's in two bands. Yeah, the DJ, very good one, good at his job, good at his passion For new years Wow, we're just together in new years and Christmas and then we always do karaoke and I had an opportunity to sing three or four songs with them, yeah, and so it's just a shock, this happened a day ago early in the morning. So just don't treat this as a sad tale, which it is Absolutely sad, depressing, unbelievable. Just still haven't totally accepted it that it's a wake up call for everyone to live like Dennis lived. He was always upbeat, say hey, dennis, hey, hello, hey, how you doing? Always upbeat, encouraging a listener to tell he's really listening to what you're saying. Focus Gives you, you know, attention Like your special. That's how I approach things. It's unbelievable.

Speaker 1:

I'm part of this, significant part of this show. It's almost like a garth, it's like a gartharsis, just a way to grieve, a way to let it out and for you, and also a testimony you have loved ones out there. Tell them you love them, don't end the day in the argument because you don't know when you're going to see that person again, if you will ever see that person again Alive, or they you. So it's a somber time, saying the least, in several households and many households with family and friends across the not just a country, different countries as well, family all over and friends, acquaintances, business associates, fellow musicians and are all in a state of shock and unbelief right now. I guess it this is a fiction. Somebody made this up and we're convincing ourselves. It really didn't happen. I really want to press upon my listeners Treat each day Like it's your birthday, I guess special and give somebody a hug, you know. Call someone up you to heaven spoke to in a long time. Be the first mover, not to just one up someone, but just do away an opportunity and the prioritize or re prioritize your goals.

Speaker 1:

My experience is people are more important in stuff and things and and and Dennis was one of them most important In many people's lives and their families lives and someone good to be around that brightens the environment, bringing sunshine. You know those people. You know they just bring sunshine in the room. Never say anything negative. You know what I mean To say hey, what do you think about this? Always given a positive spin and take on things and it is an encouragement and encourager. So I can't say enough about this young man, mr Dennis Kehano. I'm going to miss him. I can't even think of the words I really want to say to express my sorrow. So I'm still in the sense of denial that it even happened and I'm even talking about it. It shouldn't happen. So please give, shout out for prayer and support for the family. Any left behind a 12 year old son which triples the sadness, someone, a young man that doesn't have a father to enjoy the rest of his life with. So a lot of prayers, a lot of good thoughts. He sent them our way. Much appreciation and this handle, facebook and everywhere wherever you saw him Instagram Dennis on drums.

Speaker 1:

He's a drummer, right, so appropriate, his name is titled as what he does Excellent drummer. Dennis on drums, keano. We do have a GoFundMe page Dennis on drums Keano Keano is Q U, I, J A, n O. Dennis On drums Keano Go, go, find me. Not a call to arms, but if it's just in your spirit to give, give, not, that's fine too. Prayers work too.

Speaker 1:

So it's not too much else that can be said, except we appreciate who Dennis is. See, dennis is still here, just not in his physical body, but he still exists. He's in a greater plane of existence now. Didn't want him to go, definitely Didn't expect this, but it happened Nevertheless. That's the reality. So we're going to keep loving him from a distance, not that much of a distance, but because when you pray and when you receive, it's not measured in miles and feet, measured differently, not even measured in time.

Speaker 1:

So, so we appreciate Dennis for the man he was and is, and he will definitely serve as an example of the spirit, of the good natured spirit we all should have. He definitely exceeded me, yours truly, that great spirit and upbeatness and positiveness On demand. I mean just brighten up the room and laugh and joke and and just have a good time. So, please, I encourage all of my listeners to get, start living, start doing what you love. Like I said, reach out to people you haven't spoken to in a while, or visit people, visit family, whoever they may be children, mother, parents, aunts, uncles, friends and surprise them, say, hey, I was just checking up on you, it's been a while Do that. And that's a legacy that will represent who Dennis the man is and was.

Speaker 1:

So again, we're still in shock, disbelief, we're disjointed, discombobulated, call it whatever you want, and but we shall maintain and keep our strength for those who need our strength during these challenging, unforgettable time. So, that said, you know, this month is January, the beginning of the year 2024. So I pray that all of you have good health. Watch your health, have good health and definitely prosperity will find you. And we uplifted my friends. So, that said, this is Michael Cain saying Adios with living, your success, 24, seven, until next time, my friends, until next time.
