Speaker 1:

Hello there. This is living your success 24 seven with Michael Cain. That's right. It's 2024 and I'm going to make more podcasts. That's my goal. That's my goal to make more podcasts in 2024, double the amount of podcasts I made in 2023. That's right. So you're going to hear more of me. That's right. I hope that's a good thing. I believe it is self serving. I know 2024. We're in what day? Is it 13th? Wow. So what are we going to talk about?

Speaker 1:

I was thinking about what are we going to do to make 2024 our best life yes, our best life. How are we going to do that? What are things we're going to do and what is best? Do you even know what they have? You define best, better in your life? It's sort of like what a budget is to finances is a life plan, a plan to say, well, what we're going to do differently. So what? I, for myself? Let me give you my perspective I'm just talking through my eyes and my lens and even more transparent of that. As far as what do I think more? What would Michael Cain do from that perspective to be fully committed and responsive to? What are we going to do about improving our lot in life? Right.

Speaker 1:

So, from my lens, look at, I would first take inventory of the pluses in your life. They're all the pluses. If you were to write on the sheet, on the left side it would be a plus and then on the right side it would be a negative. I would start off with doing that exercise. If this, if we were in person, this is our workshop, I would start Okay, let's get our pluses, like your knowledge, your skills, your connections, like relationships or fashion, any other thing that would give you an advantage. And when I say advantage, I'm not talking about something that would be unfair to others. Because, well, we're born. We have no control who our parents are. We have no control who our family is, and what Latin, what stage of life you know More correctly, almost like a cast system, you know. Oh, some people born middle class, the Silver Spoon, as they say, rich, and Others on the lower spectrum which be considered poor, a low income. You have absolutely no choice To what family you're born into. No one's better than another. But some people do, by definition, have some sort of an advantage, and that's not just necessarily financial. It could be someone has an advantage because they belong to a particular club or association, and so this is to help you and putting more pluses down later by Establishing, let's say, you don't have.

Speaker 1:

I thought about this. I used to have a lot of connections, and more so Years ago than I do now. And why is this so, michael gang? Well, lot of mine. As time goes on, people move away, relocating. Some have simply passed away and Some I, the organization doesn't exist or I moved or exited the association or club or whatever it is. And so, in order to put that in a plus column now, I Was thinking.

Speaker 1:

I was thinking Recently that I need to improve my Relationships, my connections that can help in business. I need to replenish a lot of relationships that are lost and necessarily do the anyone's fault. But, as I indicated, you know, life moves on, people pass on, people move away and you just Disassociate yourself and so a lot of times, unintentionally, it just organic. You relocate 2,000 miles away where you no longer in, for example, to say you're in Philadelphia now you really could relocate it to San Diego. You may not have the same Ties is gonna. You know, some associations are national, but even still there's local presence where, like in your backyard, sort of speak, and if you move. You no longer have that in your backyard. So I was thinking, wow, yeah, we need some more of that, because guess what? Those can help facilitate Success, business relationships.

Speaker 1:

And he once says, different is lying who you know, who knows you and who likes you, benefits you. Is it fair? Yes, it's fair, because everyone has that opportunity Establish relationships if they choose to do so. There's no, you know, there's nothing stopping in you from Establishing relationships, nothing. Or joining one Certain ones you may not be able to join because perhaps, as to a specific school, to be like Harvard, so where my brother went, harvard, well, you either went to Harvard or you didn't, and even still, it could be a specific group within the heart Harvard ecosystem, like lawyers or something, or business majors, marketing, and so on and on. So Look at, I think, a default, the stick with the subject for a moment.

Speaker 1:

Topic is the Chamber of Commerce. This is join your local Chamber of Commerce, like-minded business folks you can connect with, barter possibly, or introductions to other potential customer prospects, and so I used to belong to several chambers, and Different associations could be cultural, which I belong to, depending on your race, ethnicity or religion. So you can go on and on and on and on and on, and you can attend certain events to help build or create a, establish a foundation of new contacts. So I was thinking about this. Yeah, that's what I need to do. I need to replenish and this is to be able to expand the empire. Right, some is this for fun, some is a civic duty minded.

Speaker 1:

I belong to at one point in different groups. One was a literacy program. There's nothing to gain and ever to help people read and write Adults. It was called Literacy at Work. It was a Literacy at Work program and we used to meet at one of the largest newspapers in the country in the big city. So these are things you can think that are tied into building your best life.

Speaker 1:

What else can you do? Learn, I was thinking about. Do I need to take a class? It could be a community based class where it's like three weeks, four weeks, eight weeks or something. They didn't even have to be certificated, but just to improve my skills in certain areas, to be online as well. I've done online classes and build my investment skills and business skills. So those are things I'm thinking. Hopefully this could be a benefit to you too, building your skills.

Speaker 1:

And how about? Best life doesn't just mean work, work, work, work, work. For those of you who are missed out on a lot of life because you're just some business focus, but nothing wrong with that, but it's more to life than that. Teach is on, for example, things if you have kids, or nieces and nephews, or community kids, what can you do to help your community? What else? How about just learning a hobby, just for fun sake? Did you ever want to learn skiing, for example, or chess, or learn a new instrument? How to live our best life now? So those are things and yes, I know it's only 24 hours in a day, seven days a week. I get it the things that enhance your life.

Speaker 1:

No regrets, no regrets, and some of you on a financial, how we started out. We're talking about money. Income May need to learn new skills, gaining knowledge, in order to get more money. To earn more money, to get more options, to be employable, to be able to get a promotion, possibly you have to have some level of expertise in a given field, and so those are things definitely I would encourage you to.

Speaker 1:

How can I make more money other than getting a side gig? Just first, where you're at now, is there a way to get more money. Maybe yes, maybe no, depending on your industry you work in, what occupation you have, and you may have to do these things. It may be stressful working part-time, full-time and learning, taking a class on the side. I did that and, yeah, is it rough. Yes, it is absolutely rough, but then you gain, have a new skill set and you can increase your income. So that's where I'm at now.

Speaker 1:

Where can I continue? Keep investing, keep investing myself. What's the next plan? I'm right now strategizing. What can I do, marketing wise to let people know I exist, this podcast Living your Success 24-7. Okay, fine, I'm getting a little more traction on Apple and iHeart radio, but it's not enough. How can I get more of the word than I exist? And I know? One thing is is to ask my loyal listeners can you please share this podcast and everything I do? Also, I have a newsletter on my website livingyoursuccesscom Catalyst is my newsletter that I'm building out and it's been a slow boat to China on that one.

Speaker 1:

I tell you it is rough increasing readership, subscribers. It's an act of God to do this. And well, maybe I do need to pray more, and so I do need to. Absolutely. I need to plan more and focus and refine the message in order to build readership, listening, listeners, and want to build on YouTube video platforms as well. And so what can I do? And then you ask yourself, what can I do to build whatever you need, to build Skills that are business or something just for fun or non-profit nothing wrong with that. I have goals in the non-profit arena for us to help give scholarships, small scholarships, for these young adults as far as vocational or academic college. I would love to help in that arena.

Speaker 1:

So 2024 is the year no excuses. That's one thing I would do no excuses, but build a plan that is doable. It has to be a little bit out of ordinary reach where you have to get on your tiptoes to grab it, but not so easy where it's not meaningful, or not too difficult where it's so impossible. You have to have a balance. So those are things that just from, some of us are saying what would Michael Cain do?

Speaker 1:

This is from just to make clear what am I doing? As an example you could be doing Okay, taking some ownership here. It's going to be exciting year. How do you know? Well, something's always exciting, so might as well be intentional instead of just hoping and waiting for something to be exciting. All the things I mentioned to you. It's intentional. So if I do what I said I was going to do, it's going to be exciting. Does it mean it's not going to be a roller coaster ride? Oh, it's always a roller coaster ride. It's always going to be something dropped in a negative kind of direction. That's always going to happen.

Speaker 1:

The key is what are we going to do about it? How are we going to steer the ship to where we're going to go? If you were a literal ship, let's say where are we going? Perhaps we go to Hawaii, where our ship is going to Hawaii. We want to go to Hawaii, but all of a sudden we start veering right. Right, right, right now I've said we're not going to Hawaii, no more, we're going to some unknown island, gilligan's Island, I don't know. We got to steer back. If we're going to Hawaii, we got to start there, steering the back Right, and so that's exactly so.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to learn new skills technology-wise. I used to be OJ with analog, so, hey, we're in the digital era now, so I'm learning all these, learning to use more digital related equipment and artificial intelligence. Say, oh, wow, man, I used to know what I'm doing 100%. Now this new technology, now I know half of what I'm doing. And then what we do is you pay someone, but I'm gonna keep paying for something simple If I can learn it in six months or three months and then boom, save money plus. I can be more flexible, mindful and unkemble. Those are my goals to be self-reliant, but then reason, not to kill myself, but to learn, to increase my skillset and my knowledge in the various areas I'm interested in. That's exactly what I'm gonna do, not bragging about it, I'm just being intentional. That's gonna be the word this year.

Speaker 1:

Intentional Without intentional, you're just waiting for lady luck, luck. Be a lady tonight, okay. And so if you're just waiting on luck, boy, you need to. I don't know about that. That doesn't work for me. It's waiting for luck. Oh, maybe I'll get lucky. Yeah, keep waiting.

Speaker 1:

Gonna waste your life, waste time. Do you really wanna waste more time? Wanna waste more precious life? You think you're gonna live another 30, 40, 50 years. Maybe you live another day, another week, another month, another year. There you go, you don't know.

Speaker 1:

So let's have fun, folks, and I don't mean fool fun. Where you're not taking care of your responsibilities. There's folks out there they just play all day and they're screwed, and they screw up the kids, screw up the family. Don't do that. My listeners are smart. They're not gonna do that. You'll take care of business, take care of yourself and family and have fun.

Speaker 1:

Why are you doing that? You set time for fun and work when you work, work hard when you have fun, hard in a healthy perspective, not a sick one and a foolish one. They spend all your money. We don't wanna do that. You know I've done stupid testimony stupid on steroids, right? I think Dave Ramsey says that, so I borrowed that from him. It sounds so appropriate, stupid on I don't know if I'm mis-speaking, but sounds appropriate. So we don't wanna do anything foolish. It's the bottom line. We're on a plan, on a budget just our money, but budget our time to make sure we're well balanced and live a balanced life. That's right, so well, that's it we're gonna.

Speaker 1:

We're not gonna close the chapter on this living your best life, because it's just not a one-off, one-on thing here. I wanna address it in various perspectives about how we can. That's what the show's about. Actually, it's a thesis for my show Living your life. It's living your living. It's living your life. It's living and that means living your success. Success is life. Without life, it's over. So living your success, living your life, living your best life, is living your success. So we'll address, we'll continue to address that in various aspects and I appreciate you. Please share this podcast. Family, friends, associates, strangers everything will benefit. Click notifications so you know there's a new episode. So thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share my mind with you. Until later, this is Living your Success 24-7 with Michael K.
