Grace Hamlin on Beginning Again, Size Inclusivity, and All Things Blogging
Mar 05, 2024 Episode 88

Today I am joined by Grace Hamlin! Grace is a mom to two little girls, Margaret and Catherine, and is raising them alongside her high school sweetheart turned husband, Curtis, in the gulf coast town of Bradenton, Florida.

During Grace's last year of college in 2009, she started a blog after being inspired by so many creative young women doing the same. When she began her time as a high school teacher with Teach For America, blogging became harder to maintain and she let it go by the way side. Grace missed the outlet for writing, sharing, and creating and always wondered, “What if I’d never stopped?’ Grace wrestled with self doubt and feelings that it was “too late” since gone were the days of a simple blogspot.com. But after she stepped away from the classroom to be the stay-at-home caregiver for her oldest, Grace began to more seriously consider giving blogging another chance. It took a while – and many years of her friends patiently listening to her think about it – but 10 years after Grace's first blog post, she dusted off the keyboard once again. This time, sharing on Instagram as well.

Since 2019 Grace has covered everything from current events and issues of social justice to reflections on parenting, travel guides, home decor finds, and tablescaping tips. But perhaps more than anything, Grace enjoys sharing and styling looks with a focus on size inclusive options.  In this episode, Grace and I talk about the blogging industry, how she started her blog back up after a few years, size inclusivity, and so much more. You are going to love Grace!
