Money is Not Your Problem
If you've ever said "I'm just bad with money" — this podcast is for you.
Money Is Not Your Problem is for capable, hardworking women who are tired of starting over, avoiding their numbers, and wondering why nothing seems to stick. The truth is, financial struggle rarely comes down to math. It comes down to patterns, beliefs, and the stories we carry about what we deserve or what's even possible for us.
Each episode gives you something real: a financial concept explained simply, a mindset shift worth sitting with, and a practical step you can take before the week is out.
I'm Madeleine Strasburg — Financial and Life Coach, former math teacher, and founder of Strasburg Coaching. With a Master of Education, over 20 years of teaching personal finance, and certifications from Ramsey Solutions and The Life Coach School, I've worked with women at every stage of the financial journey. I know what it looks like to be smart and responsible yet still feel completely stuck with money.
This podcast is built on one core belief: money management is a learnable skill. Not a personality trait. Not a moral score. A skill — and you can build it.

Ep.19 The 4 Phases to Set Goals that DO Work
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This is the second episode of a three-part series on Goals.
In the last episode, we discussed the importance of having a compelling reason that motivates us to persist even when faced with obstacles and a lack of motivation.
We emphasized that the best approach is to focus on who we want to become rather than just isolated and short-term projects. By using our identity as a foundation for setting goals, we significantly increase our chances of continuous progress.
We highlighted the significance of developing the habit of defining and working on our goals consistently. Completing one goal and moving on to another routinely helps propel our growth.
In this episode, we explore the four phases of goal-setting that we can follow to achieve what we aspire to become:
1. Imagine or Dream
2. Plan
3. Execute
4. Track Progress (Tracking or Evaluation)
We discuss the importance of not skipping steps or altering their order to enhance the likelihood of achieving our desires.
We cover the two types of goals we can set, always keeping in mind that the objective is to focus on our identity and becoming better individuals - better parents, better professionals, better friends, neighbors, and church members, which are:
1. Habit Goals - something we wish to incorporate into our daily lives.
2. Achievement Goals - specific targets we want to reach.
In the next episode, we will discuss the most crucial aspect of success regarding goal achievement and continuous progress. Stay tuned!
