Money is Not Your Problem
Ep. 29 Unraveling Generational Money Beliefs with Energy Awareness Coach Maren Rasmussen
In this week's episode of "The Money is Not Your Problem Podcast," we delve into the journey of Maren Rasmussen, a certified life coach from St. George, Utah. Maren opens up about her upbringing, which, despite outward appearances of affluence, was shadowed by underlying beliefs inherited from generations past.
Growing up, Maren witnessed her parents' struggles with scarcity, stemming from their own impoverished backgrounds. Despite their efforts to provide a comfortable life for their family, the fear of not having enough lingered, subtly influencing every financial decision.
One poignant memory Maren recalls is her mother's reaction to finding holes in her socks—an embarrassment rooted in the fear of appearing less than well-off. These moments left Maren feeling conflicted as she grappled with the disparity between outward appearances and internal anxieties about money.
As Maren matured, so did her understanding of the complexities surrounding wealth and abundance. Through her life coach work, she explored the connection between energy, mindset, and financial well-being. She realized that true abundance goes beyond material wealth—it's about shifting beliefs and embracing a mindset of abundance.
Maren's journey towards financial empowerment was not without its challenges. She recounts moments of confusion and self-doubt, influenced by societal norms and religious teachings that equated money with evil. However, through introspection and personal growth, she began to dismantle these limiting beliefs, embracing the idea that money is simply a tool—a means to amplify one's inherent values and character traits.
As a mother and stepmother, Maren is committed to instilling healthy money habits in the next generation. She emphasizes the importance of teaching children about financial literacy and modeling positive behaviors around saving, investing, and giving back.
Maren leaves us with a powerful message: the journey to financial freedom begins with a shift in mindset. By unraveling generational money beliefs and embracing abundance, we can rewrite our financial narratives and create a future of prosperity for ourselves and those who come after us.
Join us next week for another episode. Remember, with the right mindset, the money is not your problem—it's your pathway to abundance.
