Being in Motherhood Podcast

Welcome to Being in Motherhood

Kendra Fitzgerald & Nicole Coons

Amidst the joys of a motherhood journey, there is an undercurrent of challenge unlike any other you’ll face in your life, requiring a different kind of strength than your pre-motherhood days.

The current maternal healthcare system sets moms up to get weaker in pregnancy and start motherhood with a deficit of strength and energy. This means the vast majority of mothers are slogging through motherhood feeling weak and discouraged. It’s time for that to change.

Each week, Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialists (and sisters!) Kendra Fitzgerald and Nicole Coons will bring you the deep conversations needed with the practical tips and knowledge moms need to make bold decisions, heal their bodies, and live their motherhood on THEIR terms.

Welcome to Being in Motherhood!

You know how we buy clothes for our kids - “just a little bit too big”, expecting them to grow into them? Motherhood sometimes feels the same - like we have some growing to do before things ‘fit’.  Welcome to the Being In Motherhood podcast. We’re your hosts Kendra Fitzgerald and Nicole Coons, Co-Founders of Devoted Mamas, sisters in real life, and moms just like you.

For me, Kendra, specializing in Pregnancy & Postpartum Fitness became my passion after having my first baby in 2013.

For me, Nicole, I’d been on the path of yoga practice and spiritual inquiry for a decade before becoming a mother.

Even though I was a fitness professional before having kids, I experienced the frustration and confusion so many women feel in getting back to exercise after birth. The arduous journey to healing myself and realizing there was a MUCH better way led me to develop a direct path to truly help moms feel strong again - without the frustration.

With my first pregnancy, I followed a lot ot common approaches - only to discover that they fell massively short of what a mother actually needs to feel calm and in control. AND they definitely don’t make space for the disappointment and even trauma that can occur along the way. Now, as a Pregnancy & Postpartum Empowerment Coach and Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher, I guide mothers to cultivate the inner skills needed to be a confident advocate for themselves.

This show is all about you and using the messy, mundane…outrageous, and blissful experiences in motherhood as opportunities to hone your greatest qualities… because your family deserves the best of you, not the most of you.

Motherhood will test you!

We’re here to help you bust through the bad habits, mental blocks, societal norms and broken maternal health care system that are making you ask, “Is this it?” “Who am I now? And “what’s next?”

Each week, we’ll bring you the perfect blend of science, spirituality and practicality so you have the tools to take charge of your well-being.

If you’re a mom who wants to feel like motherhood finally ‘fits’, who values the direct path to feeling your best, has little time to waste on trial and error, and is ready to think and act differently to get a different result than what’s being shown out there, this show is for you.
