Speaker 1:

Hey friends, coach Shelby and Coach Christine, welcoming you in and letting you know it's time for French Quick Bites edition, where you can grab your miles with a side of smiles, take them on the run midday, in the afternoon or a late night snack attack. And today we're busting a move, we're breaking it down and we are talking all of our upcoming Crown and Conquer 30-day Royal Challenge. So, whether you are making it pink or making it blue, your fairy red mothers are going to be here every spell, just like Flora, fana and Merry Weather, which, if I had to pick, I think I would probably be Flora. What about you, coach Christine?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's so funny that you say that, because that's exactly what I was going to ask you. I was going to say do you have one that feels more of your personality?

Speaker 1:

I'm a Flora with a little bit of Merry Weather.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say, I feel maybe a little bit of, I feel a kinship to all of them, to be honest, because I think that they all have different aspects of their personalities which, if you think about it, or our personalities when you're working with our individual athletes, that's really what's important is to meet the athlete where they're at. But that's what I love about the Crown and Conquer Challenge is that we're going to be meeting people where they're at, exactly whatever they need at this point, and that's why the two different pathways and that's also why we're asking folks to not necessarily combine it, even though there's been a lot of people who've signed up who want to make it purple.

Speaker 1:

We're asking them.

Speaker 2:

And that's okay, we love it. I mean, we definitely tend to do that here at brunch.

Speaker 1:

I bet they were rubbing off on everything. We don't want one or another, we want both, which you're going to be getting both. We're just asking for the 30 days for you to pick your path, pick your quest.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely, because at the end of the day, the Crown and Conquer Challenge, the 30 day Royal Challenge, is what we're asking just to really embark on a journey of commitment to that inner royal inside, to rediscover that power of consistency and self-care for the entire challenge. We are asking for 15 to 20 minutes of your commitment daily, whether it's the make it pink, or you're going to get in some powerful movement, or you're going to make it blue, where you're going to kind of dive deep into some self-reflection. It's truly, at the end of the day, it's about honoring where you're at and getting started in what feels like a manageable, approachable, not overwhelming, and where you're actually being guided, because daily we will have those guides for you. So I can't wait to get started with it.

Speaker 1:

I don't know about you, but I've been having a lot of conversations both with one-on-one athletes as well as our group training athletes, and it seems like everybody has that feeling they've been locked away in a cabin in the woods for 16 years, that it's just been the longest of the longest months and specifically for me. I've been having a lot of conversations of people just feeling stuck, feeling like they can't fit anything in.

Speaker 2:

And.

Speaker 1:

I think that's why I'm most excited that these are only going to be 15 to 20 minutes per day and, no matter how busy you are, I feel like that is an actual about a time to really carve out and I know I shared it on the other show but again, before shower, before bedtime, depending on which path you're doing, are great times to do it. So I'm really, really excited, and not just about the prizes.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I'm excited about the prizes, I'm excited that we have a grand prize, we have a runner-up prize, but they will also have little pop-up challenges and prizes, even within the 30 days, to keep everyone, you know, a little extra sparkle going, a little extra pep in their royal stuff.

Speaker 1:

I think a runner-up prize is the first time we've done a runner-up prize.

Speaker 2:

It only makes sense, right? We're going on these fantastic journeys. We have to have a little bit more of a treasure at the end.

Speaker 1:

Oh, so I was thinking like a trustee steed.

Speaker 2:

A steed named.

Speaker 1:

Steve.

Speaker 2:

Well then, we're going to make sure that folks are feeling empowered, encouraged and supported all 30 days, but we're going to celebrate everyone's commitment at the end, and that's when the official winners will be chosen. But, coach, I think we should embark a little bit on this journey where we're going to. Maybe, while we touched on it in the Princess Run, where we embarked on discussing what the workout, the running workout, I should say the running workout that everyone's going to be getting every week will look like let's talk a little bit about what people can expect as they visit these enchanted lands. How, what, what, says you?

Speaker 1:

So I think you're right. Let's roll it back for a second. This is not going to be a running challenge. However, we are run coaches. We're runners at heart, so every participant will be getting a specialized workout that is going to be available for each week, and then you're also going to be getting the workbook with the blue path and the pink path, so you're going to get all of the goodies and then that way, we can tailor it to you and you can really make this challenge your own. So, first and foremost, if you are not a runner, you are welcome. If you are a walker, if you are a mover or shaker, in any which way or regard, we want your sparkle, we want you to be part of this, and those runs will be an extra little little sparkle on your sprinkle.

Speaker 2:

Right, and I love as well with the specific runs where they can be so easily changed up in terms of if you are a walker, if you aren't moving at all and you want to try to get started, this is a really great, approachable way of getting moving out that door on that treadmill and just changing either pieces a little bit, maybe picking up into a stronger walk, maybe pulling back for recovery into a lighter walk, maybe doing some stretches.

Speaker 2:

So there's going to be lots of alternatives for those specific audio workouts that are going to be delivered weekly whenever we send your magical decree of the week. But again, that guide will have the details of your daily activity if you're on the pink path or the blue path and, coach, I love how you said that you kind of do your movement you sneak in your 15, 20 minutes before your shower time, which I tend to do a lot of my make it blue self care right before my bedtime, and that's kind of when I dive deep into that quest as well. So let's get started. As to one of our favorites, or one of my all time favorites, I thought to say I'm like this is definitely your jam.

Speaker 1:

We're going to flutter over to France and we're going to go into beast mode with our one of our favorites, belle.

Speaker 2:

Mm, hmm, yeah, we're going to be exploring some like releasing the inner beast inside with our workouts and the make it pink path, or we're going to have some enchanted scroll writing where maybe we could be a little bit more pensive, think about the adventures that we want to go on or explore and allowing ourselves to have that time of self reflection. Either way, though, this is such a wonderful opportunity to kind of explore your unique traits and explore how you have so much strength inside, and I think that that's really where we want people to have that knowledge that they can have that confidence. It maybe it's that confidence is inside. It's this tiny little seed sometimes, especially when you're embarking on these adventures or challenges that maybe feel a little foreign, and we're going to help nurture that through this first week so that you can build upon it for the rest of the 30 days.

Speaker 1:

And really, for Belle specifically, all of these workouts are going to be pretty much body weight focused and I mean, beauty was a beast, but she definitely took an analytical approach to everything she did. I mean, obviously she was an avid reader and so we're taking that little play on the books to that enchanted writing and getting in some of that inner work. And really, again, belle didn't raise her voice, she didn't fight, she didn't scream, she didn't do any it, but she approached everything with a mindfulness which I think makes her the perfect princess for this type of mashup.

Speaker 2:

I do agree and I love the fact that you know we're harnessing that beast within. I also love specifically that this allows us to really see how, building on whether you choose the pink or the blue path, that they kind of both feed into each other. Maybe you need more mindset right now to help you build that confidence to get moving on a workout down the road, or maybe you're adding that to your workouts and that mindset can really feed into helping you build that confidence or knowledge that you're able to do it. But I also think that working out and having those exercise paths of the pink path kind of helps to build those endorphins. You feel good, you feel a little bit sparklier afterwards. So they really do feed beautifully into each other. So, regardless of which path you are taking, you're going to get the benefits from both.

Speaker 1:

Exactly and again in all the conversations I've had, even with one specific athlete off the top of my head right now, they are struggling with the strength and with the mindfulness and just making the time for each of them. So I like the fact that you are going to be picking one path to work on and you can revisit the other path after Maybe you do 30 days of one, 30 days of another and it can be used in a great cycle and it doesn't mean that you have to stick with one or another for months on end, but it really does give you all of those great resources to pick up when you need that little princess power up.

Speaker 2:

I'm so glad that you mentioned that because I think that that is a common path that people take and I'm not going to call it a mistake, but I will say that it's probably what does tend to overwhelm people, and you and I are very lucky that we get to talk to folks pretty much daily, so we get to hear a little bit of the inner workings, of how they approach things.

Speaker 2:

And I think that when people are coming from a place of frustration, maybe they feel like they haven't been moving and they start to and I've said it before, I'm going to say it again they start to should all over themselves when I should be doing this and I should be going out for this kind of a workout, or I should be spending I don't know 25 minutes a day doing my journaling and eating right and going to bed early.

Speaker 2:

It becomes very overwhelming. So, generally, while you can never miss a Monday hashtag, never miss a Monday is like one of those really toxic fitness things, of course but then by Wednesday you're so overwhelmed because you're so exhausted, because you've tried to do all of that in addition to living your life and still being mom and being daughter or being wife or significant other or partner and a friend to yourself as well. So that's why it's 15 to 20 day 20 minutes a day of really honing in on something that feels doable. Yes, it's going to be challenging. What's also beautiful about these workouts, if you choose that path specifically, is that some of them are designed for you to do in five minute increments throughout the day, so you don't have to go and find a chunk of 20 minutes because there are people in your day where 20 minutes may not happen. So start with five and figure out how to make that happen.

Speaker 1:

And I don't know if you've had this, but I've definitely gotten a lot of messages in the inbox of being concerned that was, quote unquote only 15 to 20 minutes. But oftentimes when I have more conversation, I exchange more messages with the particular individuals it gets broken down to right now they're not making any time for themselves or their health, for anything. So I always go back to it may seem like a quote unquote only 15 to 20 minutes, but if you're doing nothing at that moment, 30 minutes is not reachable right now. Five minutes isn't reachable right now. So, putting it in the structured format and making it a non negotiable because we're going to hold you accountable, the group is going to hold you accountable. That's where that consistency and that progress is made. So I urge everybody not to get stuck into the only mindset and really look at what they're doing now and seeing if that's working, because if you're questioning if this is going to work, really take it back and see.

Speaker 1:

is what you are currently doing working for you or you a hot mess express or a spicy disaster?

Speaker 2:

Very run, mother.

Speaker 2:

I want to let you know I have goosebumps from that because the conversation that I have every single day with even I've even had this conversation with myself where you start to make perfect and slaying that inner dragon and, if you can approach it, where it's absolutely perfect every single time that you do nothing. So do not let perfect be the enemy of good. 15 to 20 minutes a day equals out to about six hours per week. That's phenomenal, I mean that's truly a phenomenal. I'm sorry, six hours over the month, but that's an hour and a half per week. That's great to get started.

Speaker 2:

If you're making it an addendum, if maybe you're having difficulty with consistency, we're not asking for a huge, huge commitment, but knowing that this does start the ball rolling, you have to start the ball rolling, keeping that that marble groove going. So I love that you mentioned that. I do think that is a fallacy that we tend to rope ourselves into a lot, where we actually kind of get a little tangled up, if you will. And that that fairy tale that it has to be perfect when it doesn't have to be.

Speaker 1:

But really about talking about slaying dragons. I think it's the perfect time to talk about one of my favorite princesses, because even though she didn't slay the dragon, she had a dragon breast friend.

Speaker 1:

But the second princess, the second land, we're going to be going exploring the world of Mulan. So, yes, again, we're going to have the workouts, but I definitely am most excited because, again, mulan was one of those princesses who she had to put on this big facade, like so many of us do day in and day out, and we try to fit the mold of what we are supposed to be, what we are supposed to do, and we forget to go back to the basics of just breathing, thinking and taking a moment for ourselves. And when I think about that mind-body connection, I think of Mulan Because, again, yes, she did the battles, she learned the art of war, but her inner work became what actually saved her.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I love the fact that this week allows us to really really reflect but also to break those self-limiting behaviors and beliefs, and that's really what it comes down to. So if our belief, if our mindset is that we limit ourselves, then our behaviors and our actions will also be will be accordingly also limiting. We won't tackle a workout because it sounds a little foreign or we won't necessarily dive into a reflection because it's uncomfortable. So we see Mulan, who dove deep into kind of breaking past those shackles of what society or she or family may have thought that she had to do and she allowed herself to make it unique, make it her own, and I really do love.

Speaker 2:

While I feel like Melan is like going and camp coach Shelby as one of your favorite princesses, she does have a warrior spirit and that's what we're asking folks to bring, whether it's through their workouts with the pink path, where they're going to be tackling more of those hit style with some core and strength involved, and I should say we're also going to have mobility and agility and balance, because as we continue to roll and involve, as we get older, all of those roles of balance and agility, it really does help us from a physical standpoint to be better runners, to be better strength trainers, to be better in our day to day life. You know, at the end of the day, we want to be able to move so we can keep moving our body from getting up from the floor, playing with our kids, being able to bring in all the groceries and one fall swoop that floor is a long way down for the record.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

I keep thinking of the scene when they're at the camp and they're going through all the drills and everything, and balance really was a huge part, not only from a mental standpoint but a physical standpoint. So I love that a lot of the workouts, too, are really going to help to implore the skills and those moves will make you stronger so you have better balance in our running, in our movements. So it really I mean, the princesses are my love language. I do have to say they are quite extraordinary.

Speaker 2:

and what's also extraordinary is, in the blue path, all of the deep diving that folks are going to be able to have through dedicated intention work, where they have an intentional word and they have a meditation and a bit of reflection. And again, I think a lot of people think of meditation and guided visualizations and they automatically think a little bit of hocus pocus, maybe we're alluding to something else in the future. But in reality we know that science has been researching this. We do know that from an athletic standpoint, that meditation and guided visualizations help. I feel like this is where we would see a little bit of.

Speaker 2:

If Dina Kastor was to be a princess, she would be Mulan, because she would be all about this week. I mean, she would love the intention, she would love the meditation. She spoke at Nozom about guided visualizations helping her and her athletic performance. So we're going to harness that as well. We're going to harness that not just from an athletic standpoint. We are going to make it very manageable, because I think that when people think of meditation they think they have to sit in silence and automatically control their mind from wandering at all, which is where the guided meditation will come in, where we kind of help you create the visualization with painting it, with the audio and the words and the pictures, and you just allow yourself to kind of explore and come from a place of not judging but exploring. And I love that aspect and I know I say I love it a lot.

Speaker 1:

I cannot help it, but especially when we're talking about princesses and meditation, Well, and something special that is new to our repertoire is we are actually going to be voicing these guided visualizations and meditations, so it's not going to be something that you can get everywhere. This is going to be a Coach Shelby and Coach Christine special and I mean, I mean, and I have to, I'm stealing it. I love that.

Speaker 2:

I have to brag on it too, on you, coach Shelby, because I will say that one of your meditations has been like on repeat for me. Because, first of all, I love the guided imagery. I love how serene it is, but I love how empowering it is. And again, the hardest thing, all of the princesses that we know and love, that we grew up with, that we maybe wanted to be when we grew up, we're utilizing them for our guided meditations and really learning from them and those stories that they they kind of had to overcome or obstacles that they may have faced.

Speaker 2:

So, friends, if you are a Disney lover, this is for you. If you are not a Disney lover, this is still absolutely for you, because it comes from a place of creating that hero within it, doesn't? You know? We might be using a name of a specific princess, or maybe the story of a specific princess, or royal, I should say, because we're adding in a little bit of prince as well, but it really comes about harnessing that strength, warrior and courage from within which I think one of the top princesses that really focused on that courage within and blocked out all of the naysayers has to be Princess Tiana.

Speaker 1:

So I think we should take a little trip to New Orleans next.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I was wondering when we would get to do that. New Orleans is one of my favorite places, of course. This playlist, or I should say the soundtrack, is phenomenal. It's vibrant, it's rhythmic. It has so much joy and infuses so much extra color to our lives that it only makes sense that, with the blue path, we're going to explore some vibrant produce in our day to day. And I feel again talk about a manageable way of approaching things. We're not going to give you a specific meal plan where you have to eat this and you have to do that.

Speaker 1:

We're letting you clear. I don't like people telling me how to live my life like that.

Speaker 2:

You won't even. You've already said that about, like you're not going to tell yourself what you want to eat on Wednesday, today, so I kill you. So we're giving you the rainbow and allowing you to choose mindfully as to what that looks like for you, but adding in more produce. We don't need to really get into the discussion of how produce can really make a huge difference with the micronutrients and the nutrients at play, with helping us with our athletic performance, feeling better, you know, having that luminous royal hair or glowing skin all of that comes from our really great nutrition. So we're letting you decide, but we will be providing lots and lots of recipes and resources for you and, of course, along the way, for the folks that signed up within that first week of registration, they get that workshop Bujji on a budget included. Coach, tell us more as you don your princess Tiana apron. How are we going to explore a little bit of bujji on a budget?

Speaker 1:

See, I am a food person.

Speaker 2:

I love food.

Speaker 1:

I love creating things and it's always fun to make these extravagant meals. However, we don't love the budget that comes with it, because oftentimes you think Bujji meals and you think hella expensive. So put a lot of love into this, giving my best money saving techniques, a great way to make meal planning work without being so stringent and taking that guesswork out of what's going to be for dinner, but also making it budget friendly. Whether you have a big family, you're cooking for one, or maybe you are just one of those people who really loves leftovers. If you are, please send yourself my way, because my husband does not have any leftovers, but my skills that I've adapted to having these bougie meals on the budget has allowed for a lot of different eating styles under the same roof without breaking the bank and, obviously, giving me more money for Disney and running shoes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, that's so good. That's such a great point. I think that's where lots of folks do get hung up on, where they do feel like it's very overwhelming to potentially cook multiple different meals from the same set of ingredients. I love that you're going to be able to give actually really practical, applicable tips as to how to make that happen. I also love the workouts this week. I mean we can't potentially really visit New Orleans without embracing a little extra of that, maybe that leaping frog energy, or adding a little bit of spice and heat with that cage and spice of those dishes that are known in New Orleans to our workouts. So creating a little bit of fire, definitely a whole lot of inspiration from the Bayou all the way to the French Quarter. We are going to have a lot of fun with our workouts this week.

Speaker 1:

And I do have to giggle, because Prince Naveen got a lot of love on our Instagram about being one of the favorite princesses, princesses, princesses. I know we've been through that whole thing again, but I mean, again, I would kiss a frog if that meant that he was on the other side. I'm just saying I'm super, super dreamy.

Speaker 2:

No doubt about that. Well, with that said, speaking of, I guess, when we're talking about true love, one of the things that I do love about this challenge and crown and conquer is that we're looking at giving ourselves that true love in a truly knowing that we can't really give it to others whether it's a sister, a child, a true love prince until we actually work on that love ourselves. So that's where, when we go to visit, we pack up our bags and we leave New Orleans. Can't wait to see you again, though, new Orleans.

Speaker 2:

We'll be heading away to maybe a little bit. We might need to pack a coat as we go to week four and visit Elsa, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, of course, where we explore boundaries and how to really create that self-love sanctuary. I can't tell you how important this is, because when I talk to folks that have difficulty finding that 15 or 20 minutes for themselves, it is usually because they've said yes to everybody else, so they have to start saying no to themselves.

Speaker 1:

And boundaries can be so scary. I feel like as soon as we said boundaries, everybody went. But trust me, I have put in so much work and success in my own life and the difference it has made is truly life-changing.

Speaker 2:

I think that not only is it and I mentioned it before and I'm going to mention again what I love about boundaries specifically is that we tend to externally think of these, we think of those external boundaries, and then there's a lot of that work that could also be done internally. So if you're not quite yet ready to say no in enforcing boundaries with others, this work will still translate to creating some of that opportunity for yourself as well. Maybe that boundary is shutting off the TV at 8.30 so that you can get to bed on time, so you have time to do your Make it Blue Reflections, or you have time to get in your Make it Pink workout of the week. But either way, it is really exploring how we can create guidelines and structure to our life where we allow in the energy that is valuable to us, that helps to empower us, whether that's from others or ourselves.

Speaker 1:

One for Elsa too. There was a big Easter egg about her gloves and her gloves were supposed to symbolize that she was having that boundary and keeping to herself, and so we're kind of taking a little bit of a more uplifting play on that and we want to take the gloves off. We want to show ourselves again one of the best songs out of that entire movie, but we want to let go all of again the expectations that either we put on ourselves or others put on ourselves and put on to others, and make sure that we're not hiding, we're not putting ourselves so far on top of that ice mountain, in the ice cave, whatever speaks to you, and making sure that we are able to live authentically, to live happily and the gates should not be shut, they should always be open wide. So making sure that we put the infrastructure in place to where we don't have to spend umpteen years locked in a room by ourselves when our sister just wants to build a snowman.

Speaker 2:

I think that this is such a great opportunity to say that, how the weeks all kind of evolve into the next, like we're building a base and through the weeks that we're bringing in, maybe a little bit more of a challenge where we may struggle. There's a reason why we didn't start with boundaries right out of the gate and that's because we know that you kind of have to work up to that. Same thing with the workouts At this point, the 15 to 20 minutes maybe a little bit more fiery, maybe you're feeling more confident in how you're tackling it, Maybe you're deciding that you wanna do a 15 minute in the morning and 15 minute in the evening, because you are gonna feel more empowered by week four. So you're also going to know how to really make this program work for you. And again, we're there for you to help answer any of those questions on the day to day basis, because we've got our sparkle ready, my friends.

Speaker 2:

But with that said, I think that at the end of the day, it really is about making this fun, because you have to make time for yourself fun, but knowing that it's purposeful. It is a purposeful quest that we're going to embark upon. We really want you to lean into your fellow community, honor that commitment to yourself, because I think that that's where now I don't think I know that when you start to honor your commitment to yourself, that's when you feel that confidence. And it really does take that to be able to go day to day, from being at the boardroom to having difficult conversations with people in our lives. If you feel that confidence of knowing that you are being steadfast to yourself, that really does carry day to day in so many beautiful ways, that in and of itself is a prize enough. But we still have prizes. We love our swag.

Speaker 1:

We can't we love our swag and I'm super excited because we are doing the grand prize as well as the runner up. The grand prize package is valid over $1,200. You're going to be getting six months of one-on-one coaching with exclusive group benefits that our one-on-one clients already get, and you're going to be grandfathered into that. You're going to be getting a charming, marvelous, un-mainstreet gift card worth $25. And, just you know, one of the most coveted entries of all, the Princess of the Land, a sold-out run-Disney princess half-marathon bib for this run-Disney season in 2024.

Speaker 2:

This prize in and of itself speaks to this entire challenge.

Speaker 2:

Because, while we're giving you a prize that can be super exciting, it is an exclusive run-Disney princess bib, which is super hard to get into and creates a lot of anxiety for folks as they try to register and snag it.

Speaker 2:

We're also going to give you the tools to make sure you get there. So that's why the six months of that this book, one-on-one Personalized Coaching I can't begin to tell you how many times, when we're working with athletes, they start to have that doubt creep in throughout their training process and knowing that again, your fairy god or your fairy run mother is with you every step of the way and beyond, because we're not going to just say, hey, you're done with your training, you've done your half-marathon. See, you wouldn't want to be you. We're going to be there to help you with tapering. We're going to be there for the race day. We're going to be there during the race week and the race weekend and afterwards in terms of helping you with recovery, resetting and finding your way after the half-marathon, because there is a lot to be said about feeling a little lost after some of these really big race weekends and kind of trying to figure out.

Speaker 2:

So we will be there every step of the way for the six months taking you all the way through. Even if you have maybe some other things on the horizon for March and April, the six months will definitely take you through that time frame. I love the runner-up prize as well. Who's receiving the steadfast stepter? Because they get one month of bespoke One-on-One Coaching which allows them to kind of take what we took from this 30-day challenge and start to personalize it and craft it with practices they can take into their regular life and how they can make it work for themselves. They also get the opportunity to join all of the rest of our group challenges for 2023. There's a really big reason why we're saying that, folks, because this is not done. We are just getting started. We have so much fun in store for 2023.

Speaker 2:

We promise that, so I think that you guys are definitely going to want to win this steadfast stepter as well, and a splendid $50 gift card, choosing between Marvelous on Main Street jewelry or Sparkle Athletic. Of course, though, I think the bling with Marvelous on Main Street is the way to go.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, I have those castle earrings ready in my cart to go, but that whole prize package is valued over $300. And again, being able to give back to all of the hard work you guys are going to be doing over these 30 days is really just the crown on top of it all. And I mean, are you ready to roll your story, coach? Because I sure as heck am.

Speaker 2:
