Speaker 1:

Hey friend, welcome to the Extraordinary Strides podcast. While we may have a new look and a new name, some things are always gonna stay the same around here, and that's our love for fun runs, some sparkles and, of course, brunch. So today we're gonna be all about living that waffle life. If you signed up for the Run Disney Virtual Summer Series, then, my friend, this run is gonna keep you company for the full 60 minutes while you earn that 5k medal. If you're out for a long run and you don't even know what I'm talking about the summer series, virtual don't worry, my friend. We are there to keep you, side by stride, all the way through. So a couple of things that you need screenshot that virtual bingo card that we sent your way in the newsletter, or let us know in the strides community so that we can send it to you and make sure you're laced up. You've got your hydration ready and a sense of adventure, so let's get started in our walking warmup. In five, four, three, two and one, we're officially off and moving and grooving here. You are absolutely not going to want to skip this five-minute walking warm-up. It's incredibly important, before you take off in any kind of a run, that you allow your body to warm up, you bring that heart rate up nice and gently. This is also a great time to just check in and see how you're doing. Set yourself up for success with posture. So you're nice and tall, those shoulders are down and back, and you can already start thinking about the fantastic metal or waffles that you have waiting for you at the finish line.

Speaker 1:

Today, if you were able to get that selfie bingo card along with you, please do play along, because we're going to have some prizes all weekend long. So you're going to want to share those selfies in the Stride Collective community, and they're not even difficult things to find. You should be able to either have some of these already on your person or quickly just kind of glance around your location and snap a photo or two. Share with us in the Stride community and, of course, we will be entering you into winning some of those prizes. Today I'm going to be joined by two of our members of the Mod Squad, our moderators that make sure to keep our communities supportive and encouraging and engaging, and these two ladies put a lot of work and thought into this fun run weekend for you all. So I can't wait to welcome Sally and, of course, welcome Lynn into the run. Lynn is going to be hosting our local in-person over at the boardwalk and both ladies definitely brought a lot of knowledge for today that we're going to be sharing throughout today's conversation.

Speaker 1:

However, in the meantime, you're still walking. You're still moving. What can you expect for today is probably what you're thinking If you've never tackled one of these fun runs with us before. Well, we're going to go into different segments where we're going to get you into conversation pace, your longer run pace, which is on an RP of scale of one to 10, one being in a little bit of a stroll, maybe around the boardwalk, a 10 all out sprint, like they have the last Mickey waffle with your name on it. We're going to be hanging out around three, four and five on that RP scale, so slow and low for today's long run. A majority of the time we're going to have segments and then we're going to give you the option to pick up the pace or pull it back, depending on what you need. We'll all return back to that conversation pace and then we're going to get into our middle segment that lets you play along if you will and you can guess whether it's true or false, and then maybe, if you get it right, you get to just hang out at your conversation pace, and if you got it wrong, then you're going to get a chance to do a few penalty squats. Well, friends, we're almost getting to that point where we're going to pick it on up and I'm going to bring Sally on into the conversation Again, just to remind you that from this walk you're going to go into your conversation pace.

Speaker 1:

We're going to first talk about the history of Waffles with Sally, but before we get there, I'm going to break down a pun or two so that you know what to expect for today. Hopefully I don't lose you guys at this segment where you think they are so silly that you can impossibly listen for the entire time. But I do want to ask you did you hear about the waffle? Who got sick? It was feeling pretty battered.

Speaker 1:

Okay, they're not good, they're not meant to be, but that's always a great way of knowing if you're in conversation phase is. Can you say oh goodness, and roll your eyes? Do you have enough energy to keep you? But that's always a great way of knowing if you're in conversation phase is can you say oh goodness, and roll your eyes. Do you have enough energy to keep you moving that way? Can you talk back and be like I don't know? Or maybe you know the answer? Those are all things you're going to want to keep in mind.

Speaker 1:

Conversation phase means if we were rolling shoulder to shoulder in real life, that you would absolutely be able to have a conversation with me, going back and forth and keep your breath nice. And even so, friends, without further ado, we're going to start our first segment in just about a minute, and that means I get to break out a couple more of these awesome puns. Maybe. What do you call a group of talking waffles? A brunch of waffling? Okay, my friends, now I do want you to know please do join in on a lot of the fun that we're going to have in the Stride Collective, our Facebook group community page, because there you guys can all talk about these horrible puns, and I promise it won't even hurt my feelings.

Speaker 1:

With that said, you may want to take a sip of your water, make any last adjustments that you may need to your wardrobe, or just go ahead and start planning out that post run waffle breakfast, because we're going to get going here in just 20 seconds. I'll be bringing Sally in and I can't wait for us to get started learning all about that waffle life. We're going to go in 10. This is a great time for you to reset your posture, maybe even start picking it up into your light jog or run. We're going in four, three, two and one. Let's take it up our pace. All right, friends, as I mentioned, I am excited to be joined here today as we pick up the pace into our conversation, pace with our queen of trivia of the Mod Squad. Welcome on in, sally.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for having me. Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying your run, Of course of course We've got knowledge of waffles.

Speaker 1:

We're running for the waffles. We are definitely getting in that great conversation pace and I'm going to enjoy it afterwards. If people aren't hungry just yet, they're definitely going to be hungry by the time we're done with this. So, sally, you, as I've mentioned before, you are the queen of trivia knowledge when you host our movie nights for the Extraordinary League, and I can't wait to hear more about you dropping some of that wisdom here on the history of waffles. So hit with a little bit of it.

Speaker 2:

All right, this is what I found it says. Did you know that waffles have been around since the Middle Ages? They were originally cooked over an open fire using two metal plates. By the 14th century, waffles had become a popular street food in Europe, often flavored with honey and spices, which sounds totally good, it does, it does.

Speaker 1:

So how do you generally make waffles at home? Do you get it when you go out?

Speaker 2:

I'll sometimes make it at home. I have a little miniature waffle maker and I'll just. Usually I just do the basic kind, but sometimes I might add a little bit of cinnamon in it to give it a little bit more spiciness, like almost like a French toast type of treat.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that sounds delicious. What do you put on your waffles, if anything?

Speaker 2:

Usually I just kind of stick with maple syrup, but sometimes I might spice it up and I'll put like a little bit of whipped cream or some strawberries or blueberries to kind of get some fruit in and enjoy it a little bit. So it just, it depends on what my mood is that day.

Speaker 1:

Now, do you keep your waffles Like is it always going to be a bit on like the sweeter side, so you have like fruit or whipped cream or those kinds of things, or do you ever add some like the chicken and waffles?

Speaker 2:

Actually I do do that once in a while. For supper, I'll do chicken and waffles and then I add gravy over top of it and I actually remember that. Yes, it is so good when you add gravy to it that I feel like I had that in school as a kid. They do chicken and waffles with gravy over top.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if it's a more northern thing, yeah because they did not have that at school for me, or if they did, I don't recall. All I remember was the rectangular pizza on pizza day and that was like the best day ever for me personally. But with that I don't want to take away some of all of the other history information you've got.

Speaker 2:

So what else do we have that we should know as we enjoy our waffles well, I feel like this one's kind of everyone should know, but in belgium waffles are my big deal. The belgium waffles, known for its deep pockets and light, crispy texture, became famous at the 1964 world's fair in new york. Today they're enjoyed worldwide with various toffees. I feel like that everyone should know because Belgium waffles.

Speaker 1:

But in case, I didn't really know that actually until I went to Belgium a few years back after London, did a little bit of touring in those countries, in those areas after going to the Netherlands, and I did not realize that it was so incredibly popular there. I didn't realize that French fries were a big deal for them too. So I'm down with both waffles and French fries, but yes, it was definitely quite, quite the thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I felt like French fries, I believe, when I was learning about it. It was developed in France, but it's not the French fries that we know today. It's like it was different. It was like I can't remember exactly but it was derived from French, from the French, and that's where French fries come from, but it's not the same as what we know today.

Speaker 1:

So if you had to choose between waffles or French fries, which one would you choose?

Speaker 2:

Hmm, oh, I don't know, between waffles or French fries, which one would you choose? I don't know Both. I would have to say maybe waffles because I get a little bit fuller faster and I feel like French fries. I'll just keep eating and eating and eating it, and probably not stop.

Speaker 1:

I mean same, but I don't know that the waffles make me feel like I consume any less of the waffle, to be honest. But yeah, something about that salty. Everything about the French fry is pretty much the perfect fuel. But with that said and friends, maybe you guys are rolling through here and it's time for you to kind of start thinking about what you're going to feel with and you're already thinking about what you're going to feel with after this run or maybe you've decided to have some honey stinger waffles with you, which brings us to know you have, you've continued to dive deep for us. What else do we have regarding the waffle that we should know?

Speaker 2:

so waffles inspire. Waffles inspired the design of the nike trainers. Approximately, um, approximately enough. They were called the waffle trainer.

Speaker 1:

Bill bull, the bill bowerman yeah, trot Club, that's so cool.

Speaker 2:

Was watching his wife use their waffle iron. One morning in 1971 when he was suddenly struck by the honeycomb shape of the waffle, he realized it could be the perfect shape for the sole of an athletic sneaker. And then he actually used the waffle iron to create the first Nike sneaker. And then he actually used the waffle iron to create the first nike sneaker sole. And I I remember actually watching. It was that pre-fonte movie with um pre. It was called pre and I remember in the movie he was test testing out the nike shoes and they were showing Bill making the Nike shoes with the waffle iron in the movie.

Speaker 1:

So it wasn't the Prefontaine movie with Jared Leto, I think it was.

Speaker 2:

I want to say it was Jeff, because I remember maybe it was a different movie, but I do remember that there was a movie and it was the 70s and it had the Nike shoes in it. And it was the 70s and it had the Nike shoes in it. It was kind of showing, paying homage to how they were created with a waffle iron.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, I think from I read a little bit of Shoe Dog and it kind of again has the history of Nike and how it became such a big. Of course we know today, a brand that we know today, and I think, if I remember reading correctly, that his wife got really upset that he was kind of ruining her waffle maker with this project. But you know, we can, we have to say that while Nike can be a little controversial right now, at least we're all very much in accordance that we appreciate the fact that we have these specialized shoes and they've come such a long way since then, I mean in terms of our shoes. I also love that for today's run since it is a fun run that we were able to tie our food directly to the history of running, so I think that's pretty exciting Um so.

Speaker 1:

I mean not that I've ever looked at my. Can you imagine how I think that I'm rather obsessed with running? But I can't imagine looking at literally like a waffle iron and be like I can make a shoe out of that Like who would do that?

Speaker 2:

No, I would. I could never think of anything like that. It's so amazing how, like people sit and look at an everyday item like a waffle maker and come up something like that I wish I could take care of it and be like oh yeah, I came up with this, but I'm not.

Speaker 1:

that brain Would it also be so cool to have the royalties that involved in terms of being able to create something like that. Goodness gracious, now I know I am not the trivia queen that is a solely your title but I did have to do a little bit of research and create and find just something to hit you with a little bit, and I'm curious if, one, you already know this and, two, if this exists in your side of the world. So if you will indulge me for a second, I want to ask you if you're aware of the Waffle House Index. Have you heard of it before?

Speaker 2:

No, I have not, I never heard of it.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So I know that this is definitely something here, at least in Florida, but I think it doesn't just exist here in Florida. I think my understanding is that it was actually developed in more of like the tornado alley and not to bring down anybody. But realistically, the Waffle House Index is actually an informal measure of how much impact a storm or a hurricane had in the area, because Waffle House has a reputation for always being well prepared for disasters and either remaining open throughout the entire storm or opening up really shortly afterward. So generally, if a waffle house has not reopened or it closed, there is this inside florida kind of joke where it's like it's super serious.

Speaker 1:

Maybe we really should get the kids and head out of florida. So it's the call the waffle house index and again, I I know that like a meteorologist kind of observed it. I don't know I feel like I should have given credit to the. A meteorologist kind of observed it. I don't know I feel like I should have given credit to the specific meteorologist, but we definitely joke about it quite a bit here in Florida and if anybody else has ever heard of the Waffle House Index outside of Florida and maybe you guys can let us know that it's something that you have heard of or you guys also use to measure the storm severity. I want to know about it. Now we are about nine minutes into this segment, just a few more minutes before we pick up the pace or pull it back, because we'll be at a tempo change. So I'm going to be quiet and let you hit me with some more of your facts, all right?

Speaker 2:

So waffles have even inspired international variations. Waffles have even inspired international variations. For instance, in Hong Kong, bubble waffles are a popular street snack, often served with ice cream and other sweet toppings. Now I feel like with you being over there in Japan. Was that true or not?

Speaker 1:

There were so many waffles. There was waffles everywhere, it was. Every single district that I went to in Tokyo had waffles and they had tons of different toppings. And I have never, ever, seen a line as big as I have currently, like to this day, I've never seen a line as long as what it was to get a Mickey Mouse waffle at the Tokyo Disney, tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea. It was insane to me. I just can't imagine it being that popular, but it truly, truly is. So, yes, I mean again, haven't been to Hong Kong, haven't been to Shanghai, but it does seem to be something that is quite popular. And I wonder if that's because, traditionally, when I think of Asian type foods, they aren't necessarily as sweet, they're more on the savory, savory, sweet, savory and salty.

Speaker 2:

So aren't necessarily as sweet. They're more on the savory, savory, sweet, savory and salty. So maybe they really like enjoy this little homage, a little bit of the sweet snack. Yeah, that's what I was thinking too because, like with them, it seems like every restaurant that I've been to and all their food is savory or very salty. So I was wondering if that was the case with them and that's what the draw is for them with all that.

Speaker 1:

I think so too. I think so too. So, friends, we have just over a minute to go get. I think we're looking for one more fact.

Speaker 2:

Okay, one more fact. There are two waffle holidays, like even likely even more. International waffle day falls on March 25th, thanks to those lovely Swedes, and August 24th marks National Waffle Day in the US. Why? Because on that August day in 1869, cornelius Swarth, I think it's Swarthart Swarthart, it's something like Harry Potter, yeah it does, cornelius Okay. Receive the first US patent for the waffle iron. So we have Cornelius.

Speaker 1:

Swarthart to thank for having our waffles, our shoes, I mean so much to thanks Mr Cornelius there. So we also going to thank you for putting this fun together and I can't wait to see you in just a little bit, because we're going to do a tempo change in 10 seconds and then you're going to bring us some more GDNO knowledge at the back end of today's fun run. So, friends, let's get ready for that tempo change in five, four, three, two and one. All right, my friends, you have pulled up your tempo to maybe an RP of six to seven, or you're pulling it back, maybe checking with your feeling or your hydration. Either way, we'll all meet back in a 20-minute Mickey Waffle-focused trivia segment. But first and foremost, let me welcome on in Mod Squad, fellow fan here of the whole Run Disney, and she's also orchestrating our live event. Hello Lynn, how are you doing? Oh good, I'm so excited. Waffles, I know Well, not just any waffles too, mickey waffles, which are officially synonymous with you, and I believe that you are maybe the biggest Mickey waffle fan I've personally met. Would you say, that's fair? That's fair, okay. Well, with that said, friends, we know you guys are moving and grooving. You're looking super strong. We got a couple of puns.

Speaker 1:

But we also want to let you know what you could expect for our next segment. When we go into that conversation pace segment we're all going to meet back at that four to five a long run pace, but with that Mickey waffle trivia we want you to play along. So we're going to take turns with some true and false. We're going to give you guys a little bit of time to lock in your answer and then, if your answer is correct, you are going to continue staying at that conversation pace. If you got your answer incorrectly, you're going to do a few penalty squats, because of course you know, we know that you give a squat here as you continue. I would say five reps. So while we're going here, we have about 90 seconds left. Do you have a couple of puns for me, lynn, in your back pocket?

Speaker 3:

Okay, I have a good one. Why did the waffle go to the doctor? I have no idea, because it was feeling crummy. Oh does a good waffle crumb?

Speaker 1:

I guess no idea, Because it was feeling crummy Does a good waffle crumb? I guess yes.

Speaker 3:

Yes, a good waffle, A good crispy waffle, absolutely.

Speaker 1:

Well, I think it's appropriate to say that you know waffles. They try to get in shape as well. So do you know how a waffle stays in shape? I do not by doing lots of squats and lunges.

Speaker 3:

Just kidding, they just waffle around. Oh my gosh, that is a good eye roll one for sure, but it's funny, the eye roll ones are great.

Speaker 1:

they always make me giggle a little bit more. Well, friends, you're looking super strong. You have 45 seconds here before we go in to our official Mickey waffle true or false trivia. And just to repeat again, you're going to play along, lynn and I are going to take turns giving you guys true or false questions. We'll give you time to lock in your answer, we'll reveal the answer and then you can either keep rolling, if you're correct, with your conversation pace, or you can do five squats if you're incorrect, and, of course, like we're not there rolling side by side to check in on you. But we know, scouts Honor, that you will absolutely follow through With that 15 seconds. Do you have one more pun for us?

Speaker 3:

Oh, since I'm from Florida, why do you call a waffle on a beach? I have no idea.

Speaker 1:

A sandy waffle. Oh, friends, let's go. Three, two and one 20 minutes on the clock. We're going to go from those Sandy Waffles to those Mickey Waffles. So, lynn, you want to hit us with your first true or false?

Speaker 2:

Everyone should be at conversation pace.

Speaker 1:

At this point you should be easing into the RP of, let's say, four to five, so you should be able to actually say these answers out loud with us.

Speaker 3:

All right, here's our first one. True or false? The first Mickey shaped waffle was introduced at Disneyland in the 1980s. Ooh.

Speaker 1:

I feel like I want to play along and I don't want to influence anyone and friends, do not let me and my responses influence you at all but I don't think the true. I mean it has to. It has to be true, right, it has to be so. Do you want to reveal that answer in about five seconds? Sure, okay. So friends, lock it in, get ready and Lynn what's the response? All right, the answer is true.

Speaker 3:

Let's first introduce in the 1980s.

Speaker 1:

perfect so you guys have about 20 seconds on the clock for you to do those five penalty squats if you got that answer incorrect, or just keep rolling on through and then I will give you the next true or false question here. Um, either way, we're getting in some really good. We're getting in some good conversation pace. We're getting in some good movement. We're getting in some really good. We're getting in some good conversation pace. We're getting in some good movement. We're keeping in shape and earning those waffles. Right about now. We're all back in our conversation pace and I've got a true or false where I want you to and I feel like folks are gonna probably know the answer of this one, but true or false, there's a special hidden Mickey waffle recipe that only Disney chefs know. You can, what do you think? What do you think the answer is? So friends, lock it in your answer. Lynn, do you have a thought on it?

Speaker 3:

I, yeah, I do. Just when should? I don't want to influence the people, but OK, OK, well then I'll go ahead and let them know, You've got your answer locked in though I do, I do OK.

Speaker 1:

So the answer is false. You can actually make Mickey waffles at home with a Mickey shaped waffle iron, which of course people are hopefully doing sometime this weekend a Mickey shaped waffle iron, which of course people are hopefully doing sometime this weekend. With that you have 20 seconds on the clock. Friends, if you want to go ahead and keep that conversation pace rolling, or if you want to do your squats, make sure if you are doing these squats which actually they're great to do in between during your longer runs, that you are doing it somewhere that's nice and safe. So if you're on a sidewalk that's really traversed by a lot of runners or cyclists, that you're pulling off a little bit so they're not running into you and with that you should be wrapping up those squats and getting right back into your conversation pace. And Lynn hit me with the next true or false?

Speaker 3:

All right, the next true or false. True or false, mickey waffles are always served with maple syrup.

Speaker 1:

Well, I mean, that one's an easy one. I feel like this one. I mean I feel like we gained this one for folks to definitely just continue moving and grooving. Everybody's going to get this right correctly. So this is probably a good time to maybe do a form check, because I feel like there is no doubt that everyone's going to get this one accurately. So, with that said, if you want to go ahead and reveal the answer to us, that would be false.

Speaker 3:

You can have them with fruit, whipped cream or even chocolate sauce.

Speaker 1:

So what's your favorite way of having your waffle?

Speaker 3:

I actually do. Just I'm old school With my waffle, with a Mickey waffle in particular, because if you put all of those other things on it then it doesn't look as Mickey like, so I prefer just plain syrup.

Speaker 1:

And that's it OK. So I have to ask you to and friends, you're rolling through here in your conversation pace still maybe doing a form check. Nice and tall Shoulders are down and back. I am curious where. What's the correct way to eat a Mickey waffle? Do you start with the ears? Do you cut him in half? What do you do?

Speaker 3:

I eat the ears first, I leave the face for last. I mean it's kind of morbid if you think about it, but all in good fun.

Speaker 1:

So do you tend to? I've seen people do it a few different ways. I've seen some folks actually put the syrup on top and I've seen some people kind of break it up into different and duck into the in the syrup. Do you have a specific way that you prefer to do it?

Speaker 3:

I pour the syrup over the top.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well, that's, that's all I mean, whatever you guys choose to. However you choose to eat your Mickey waffles, we want you to weigh in. You could either pop into the chat or event page if you're running through this and let us know how you prefer to eat your waffles, because I think it's an interesting question. I do have a hard time with the Mickey shaped waffles. I feel like it's just a little sad, but they are delicious. So, with that said, I want, I feel, like this one. I feel like we're giving some easy ones here. So I think I want to look a little. Let me see.

Speaker 1:

Okay, Hmm, hmm, true or false? You can find Mickey waffles at all Disney theme parks worldwide. So, friends, locking your answer here, I'm going to give you a little bit to think that through all of them. So I'm talking about Shanghai and Hong Kong and Paris and, of course, the original Disneyland and Tokyo and then Walt Disney World. We know that we have them here. So with that, I'm going to go ahead and reveal the answer in three, two and one. Friends, it is true, no matter what Disney park you go to, you can get a Mickey waffle. So if you didn't get that answer correctly, this is a great time for you to get into those squats, and then we'll all join back in into our conversation. Pace and just a few more seconds.

Speaker 3:

I would also like to point out, though, that some of the resorts actually don't serve Mickey waffles. They serve waffles that are themed to the resort. So at I think we were at Art of Animation, and they were Lion King shaped waffles.

Speaker 1:

So do we know if that's the case for most of the themed resorts?

Speaker 3:

It just depends. I just noticed it for the first time that it's like oh, and some have mini, there are also Minnie Mouse waffles.

Speaker 1:

I've never seen a Minnie Mouse waffle there are, so which one do you? Prefer, if you, if you can go with a Minnie or a Mickey, do you care?

Speaker 3:

I don't care, you know they're there it's the same batter and they taste just as delicious. So I was a little sad with the Lion King one but that's which?

Speaker 1:

was it Simba, or who do they have?

Speaker 3:

I think it was Simba, it's more like just a round waffle with an imprint of a character.

Speaker 1:

So they have that at some of their resorts as well, okay, I think I saw a Finding Nemo one at one of the resorts as well. But I am curious. So does the mini have her traditional bow? Oh yeah, so do you go with the bow first and then the ears, I think it's all, it's just.

Speaker 3:

it's not like a separate thing, it's just the imprint of the bow.

Speaker 1:

Oh, got it, got it Okay. Well, friends, now we know that if you're coming to Walt Disney World and you're going into the resorts, don't expect to find them every single resort, but you should be able to find a Mickey Waffle somewhere on Disney property, no matter where you're at globally. And we're almost to the halfway point of this segment. So before we get into another true or false, I want you to tell me a little bit, lynn, as to where did your love of running at Disney and kind of celebrating afterwards with breakfast or Mickey waffles come into play? Is that something newer since you moved into the area? Is that? Did that happen because of COVID?

Speaker 3:

Oh no, that was as soon. I've always tried to get back to Florida. I'm from Florida and I grew up going to Disney, so when we moved back I had already started running and that was doing a Disney. I think a Disney race was the first thing I did, running wise once we moved down here. That was my goal. I think I did the Disney half first and then, before COVID, they used to have the resort runs where you could do, and I never. I found out about those right before COVID happened, then COVID, and so I haven't been able to do a proper resort run.

Speaker 1:

So I just do my own. I was going to say you have done a proper resort run. You've created that because I know yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so. So, friends, again, I want to mention that whenever there's a fun in-person event here at one of the resorts or on the boardwalk, it is usually Lynn that is at the helm of creating it. So if you find yourself heading to Walt Disney World for the Summer Virtual Series, do know that she's also orchestrating the in-person, not just for this one, but also for the second and the third. I'm curious will there be a separate lineup for the challenge one, or are we just going to no, we're going to.

Speaker 3:

I just posted that one this morning. Um, I finally have my apple picture, so, uh, we're. We're going to end it at disney springs, because they have both the apples, which is the third race, and they have dole whips so we can have, we can enjoy both oh, perfect, I love that.

Speaker 1:

So see you guys. If you are, if you're making your way down here during this summer, you definitely want to try to join us for these fun in-person ones. But if you're not, that's okay. That's why we're doing these virtuals. We want you to jump in the chat, take those selfies throughout. Maybe you're playing those selfie bingo game. Maybe you're going to share your own waffle photos afterwards. Okay, I think I've gave you guys enough of an opportunity to keep rolling through this conversation pace without potentially making you do squats, but the time has come and there's yet another true or false. Then I'm gonna let you lead with another true or false. So give me one, give me a hard one that people are going to really potentially need.

Speaker 3:

I think this one could be difficult. Okay, mickey waffles were first introduced at walt dis in Florida.

Speaker 1:

Wait, they were. Is it true or false? Were they not? Wait, I'm so confused. Didn't we already ask?

Speaker 3:

We asked the year that they were first introduced.

Speaker 1:

Well, in my head I immediately thought that that meant that that was the very first time that they were introduced anywhere. But yeah, now see, I'm so. I'm glad I got that response correctly. If not, I would have been doing squats. But OK, I'm going to. I'm not trying to influence it. You guys lock your answers in, but I want to say mine. I would think false, to be honest. So you tell us the truth. What is it really?

Speaker 3:

It is true they became a hit in Walt Disney World Florida, so much so that they spread to the other locations that I honestly would have.

Speaker 1:

I assumed that it was Disneyland. I feel like Disneyland automatically always gets the stuff. So if you guys are like me and you also got it incorrect, we're going to do five squats, and I'm actually going to do my five squats right here. Lynn's going to be my witness. So let's do them in three, two and one and then and this is kind of hard to do with the microphone.

Speaker 1:

I confirmed that she is doing her squats. We have four and I've got my five. I can't say that doing it on a microphone was the easiest thing, but we're all going to get back into our conversation, but I did it. I mean, I got him wrong. I automatically just assumed it would be Disneyland, but we got them here first, so that's always a good thing. Okay, I'm going to hit you with one. I feel like you're really good at giving us the tougher ones. I feel like mine are a little bit easier, but, alas, it is what it is.

Speaker 1:

I am going to go ahead and give you guys a little bit of a true or false, maybe so you can take the break from those squats if you need to. So, lynn true or false there is a gluten-free version of Mickey Waffles available at some Disney parks. We have 12 minutes on the clock. Friends Lock in your answers here, knowing that we only have eight minutes left of this conversation pace before we get to our tempo change. Again, on those tempo changes, you can pick up the pace. If you're looking for a little bit more, you can pull it back and maybe refuel or rehydrate. You're welcome to do that throughout any point of the run, of course. So, lynn, I'm going to go ahead and give you the answer. Well, I want to hear your guess.

Speaker 3:

Well, this one I don't have to guess. I actually know the answer, just because one of the times I wanted a Mickey waffle because they have the remember the Lion King issue we spoke about the only Mickey waffles they have were gluten-free, plant-based, vegan ones. Wow, At that particular that was and I think it was a Minnie Mouse, not a Mickey Mouse waffle. But, yes, Okay, so I do know that they offer those at some places.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So it's true, friends, I think Disney World and I'm sure Disneyland and all of the parks are actually really good at trying to meet the dietary restrictions of individuals. How they do that, I don't know, but they do so. If you got that incorrect, it is time for you to do your squats as well, and you'll have a few seconds to get those in. I want you to make sure that you're not rushing through them, you're staying nice and safe and they really are great. Again, I can't stress enough, doing those mid run really do help in a lot of different ways. Kind of helps to loosen up a bit too. And then let's all join back into the conversation pace. And then I want to hear of all of these beautiful summer series, virtual medals which one is your favorite, lynn? Which are you looking most forward to earning?

Speaker 3:

to earning, or should I say yearning. Yeah, the eating. Eating would be the waffle, okay, for sure, um, the the metal. With the ice cream bar too, though I that's the mickey bar and the mickey pretzel. Well, where that's not one of the things, but not such a fan of the apple, so that would not be it. I love the apple. Yes, if I could eat two bites of it, but it's so much it is. I actually like the caramel apple. I feel not so good after eating one.

Speaker 1:

So I feel like in some of the locations you can have them pre-split the apple which I don't know if you really want to do that, because that kind of takes away the fun but so that you can have just a piece or two. But with that said, friends, we want to hear from you guys as well, like which ones are you most excited to earn? Which one are you most excited to eat? Those are always good. So which one are you most? We know which one you want to eat. Do you also want to earn the waffle the most?

Speaker 3:

No, I think the Dole Whip just because I also Dole Whip is another one of my favorites. As far as the medals and I didn't get to see them, I didn't go to the expo so I've only seen them virtually. So I will have to reserve judgment until I see them in person.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay, I mean, I will tell you in person. They are absolutely stunning. All right, friends, we have five minutes on the clock before we get to that next tempo change. We are rocking and rolling through this long run and I'm going to let you hit me with another true or false.

Speaker 3:

Okay, true or false, you can buy a Mickey waffle iron to make Mickey waffles at home.

Speaker 1:

I feel like you don't want me to have to do squats again, and that one I feel like I easily know. But I'm going to let friends lock it in and I'm sure that we'll have a few people weigh in on this one as well. So lock in your responses, my friends, and then Lynn is going to reveal for us in just a few seconds. Okay, lynn, hit us with the correct response.

Speaker 3:

Well, in my pantry currently I have a Mickey waffle iron.

Speaker 1:

Yep, yep, and I think we're going to see lots of Mickey waffles in the chat this weekend for sure, because I think that folks are going to be making them no matter where they're at. It's too classic and it's too fun to not have that in your pantry, if, if you have the space. So I think they're adorable. Um, now they sell them too free for like frozen. Right now it is, I feel, like you could get frozen I actually think that's true.

Speaker 3:

I think you can. I know they sell the mickey bars at store now, which I have mixed feelings about that, quite honestly.

Speaker 1:

Well, tell us.

Speaker 3:

Well, it's like I don't know. I don't want to be able to go to the store and get a Mickey bar. It's like you, but I get it. Not everybody lives in Orlando, so I have some empathy for that. Yeah, it's just kind of like does that take the specialness away? I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Well, with that we have just about three minutes left a little bit over three minutes. So I think I'm going to let you. I'm going to think you're you're so good with all of these and you have so much Mickey waffle knowledge I feel like I can't stump you. So I'm going to see if you can stump me. What do you have as a true or false?

Speaker 3:

Okay, I like this one actually. Okay, you true or false? You can only get Mickey Waffles during breakfast hours at the Disney parks.

Speaker 1:

Interesting? Okay, I think so. Does this? Does this mean like at a sit down or anywhere During?

Speaker 3:

well, it's places that serve breakfast. I mean it's breakfast hours, so it would be during breakfast hours, so I guess that would be anywhere.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'm thinking of I've only been to Walt Disney World and then Tokyo's Disney. So I'm going to kind of try to use that knowledge from because I'm going to be honest and I feel like people are going to throw maybe their Mickey waffles at me. I don't know that I'm as big of a Mickey waffle fan as everybody else is, so maybe I should reserve a little bit of judgment and have one again and see how I feel. Maybe I'm just not eating it the right way, I don't know, but I'm. Maybe I'm just not eating it the right way, I don't know, but I'm thinking. I don't think I have only seen them. Friends, I hope you locked in your answer because my guess is that I've only seen them at least in the morning. I haven't gone looking for them any other time. So what's the accuracy here?

Speaker 3:

That is false. There are certain locations that offer them throughout the day.

Speaker 1:

Okay, friends. So who's joining me on those squats for this time, or am I doing them solo? Because I feel like everybody who does love Mickey waffles may already have that answer. But if you're going to join me, lynn's going to verify that I am yet again going to do five squats. Hopefully I do them a little bit better this time than I did the first time because it was awkward. I was trying to do it with a mic and I'm not going and we'll count her down, and we'll count her down. Okay.

Speaker 3:

One, two, three four five.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, back to our conversation. Pace, friends. And with that we only have 60 seconds left. Nice, great work. So again, we hope you guys are having tons of fun.

Speaker 1:

Take those selfies. Maybe take some of these squat selfies, if you got any of the answers incorrect. And, of course, if you are local, please do join us at the wonderful events that Lynn is orchestrating. And, if not, you can bring that little bit of special magic at home by joining us with the virtuals, with these runs, with joining in the chat, posting selfies inside of the group page. So, lynn, thank you so much for orchestrating this as we start to get to the end of this and we get into our tempo change. And I know again, you're posting everything in Facebook, so find it on Facebook in the community page, friends. All right, lynn, we're going into a tempo change in 15 seconds. Are you pulling it back here or you think you're going to push up your tempo?

Speaker 3:

I think after this morning I'm feeling like pulling it back.

Speaker 1:

OK, I think I'm going to push it up. So it's going to two and one, and when you are deciding to push it up or pull it back, this is your opportunity to do so. But what's so important, as you just heard, is that it's to listen to our bodies. The temperatures have changed. Maybe we are needing to become more conservative, especially if we are aiming to go the distance, and we, of course, feel good when we finish up our runs to get those waffles. Now, friends, while we are rolling through here, I want to remind you that we are still playing for those fun prizes. So if you have forgotten to take a selfie, this is your opportunity to do so, especially if you decided, during this tempo change, to pull it back. If you decided to pump it up a little bit, you may wanna wait a second or two, but, again, knowing that we have to listen to our bodies and really honor what it is that we need out of our workouts, regardless if we are running together in person or here, virtually. That's what's so great it's to run our own pace and make our peace with it.

Speaker 1:

Now, as we are rocking and rolling here, I've got more puns for you all, I know. Aren't you excited? I mean, what would you do without these really, really, really bad puns? Probably you could run easier, right? Well, friends, I want to know if you have ever heard the phrase if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen and send in the waffles, because that's what we're probably all feeling right around now is that it's kind of hot, it's kind of toasty. So please do make sure that you are staying nice and hydrated and also letting you know that we're about 90 seconds into this three minute tempo change, 90 seconds to go, before we bring in again Sally, who's going to drop in some more trivia knowledge for us as we start to get towards the end of this workout together in this fun run. Now I've dropped in some bad puns, but I also have some really good knowledge from the waffle life.

Speaker 1:

So I do want to say that a burnt waffle is like a bad decision. Just toss it and start fresh. And if, at any point during your run, you feel like you have pushed a little bit too far or you are feeling like you just can't shake off the last mile that you're in, or you're starting to worry about the next mile, this is your time to just start fresh. Every single step is your opportunity to just kind of give yourself that extra little pep in your step. So, with that said, we have just about 45 seconds before we go into our final run segment, and I want you to know that. I'd love to hear if you guys are what you consider yourselves more of an early runner, or do you prefer running late in the evening? What time do you tend to get out for your summer runs, and how are you handling the summer virtual series?

Speaker 1:

Now, with that said, in just 20 seconds, we'll go into our next segment, and I want you to know that the best things in life are sweet, fluffy and covered in syrup, just like waffles. I don't know if I want my metals covered in syrup, though, so let's not do that, all right, and let's go in five, four meeting, conversation pace in three, two and one. All right, friends. So you have pushed back into conversation pace. We're at our very final conversation pace and, again, because we are breaking a little bit of did you know? Trivia where I have to, I'm going to be a little impressed with myself because I brought a little bit of knowledge. I feel like I had to, because we're bringing Sally back. Sally, welcome back to this segment.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back everyone. I am so tired after all this running. I can kudos to all of you for continuing with this, especially with all the talk of waffles, like I'd probably have stopped in a way to get a snack of some sort. That's why we're doing it.

Speaker 1:

We got waffles waiting for us. There's so much fun to keep working for. So, yeah, friends, we are so proud of you and so excited to continue dropping some of this waffle knowledge. So, with that said, I wanted to. I kind of, you know, wanted to bring a little bit because I was inspired by Sally. Sally, again, is our trivia queen in the league and I feel like I had to bring a little bit. So I'm going to try to have a bit. Keep up with her. We'll see how that works out. So, sally, I'm going to break down something. Let me know if you already knew it, because did you? Expensive waffle costs around $300. It's topped with ingredients like caviar frogois, which I don't know why. You would want that specifically on your waffle, but I guess I'm not judging. And gold leaf also. Come on. Gold leaf, like, why do you really need that on your waffle?

Speaker 2:

Yes, and I can think of so many better things to spend like $300 on that, for instance, a Disney race.

Speaker 1:

Those are three pairs of shoes, why would we want? Or literally a run Disney race for sure. So I think our medals that people are earning for the summer virtual series are a much better way to spend their $300. But I know that there's going to be quite a bit of knowledge that you have to drop for me, so tell me what you've got on your side.

Speaker 2:

All right. So did you know that the waffle iron design was inspired by medieval armor? The grid pattern resembles the armor worn by knights in medieval times, which I feel like now. Looking at that fact, I can see the design of it with armor, like the medieval armor. I never thought of that. Like the chain mail.

Speaker 1:

Is it the chain mail specifically? Okay, I think thought of that Like the chain mail. Is it like? Is it the chain mail specifically? Okay, I think so.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I mean, it does make sense now that you say that yeah, yeah, now I have to Google chain mail so I can see the pattern, because I'm trying to picture it, but I think it does make sense. But again, so going back to the first segment where we got started in this conversation, you dropped a lot of knowledge for us. Who does this? Who sits around thinking like you know this chain mail, not only is it good for saving my life on the battlefield, but something delicious into this too, like how do people do that?

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I wish. I wish I had like the creativity to come up with all this stuff that people do. I'm not that very creative.

Speaker 1:

Well, sally, you, you've got your skill set where you're breaking down some knowledge for us, so that's the best thing that we could ask of and we love it. So I again trying to match you a little bit. And since we're talking a bit about the waffle, iron design so the traditional Belgian waffle that we've alluded to. They use yeast instead of baking powder in their batter and that gives them their signature light and airy texture. So when folks do order a Belgian waffle versus a more standard waffle they are going to it should have a completely different texture. Have you actually ever noticed that? I don't think I personally have.

Speaker 2:

I haven't noticed that either, but I can see where, like the, with the change of using that yeast, because yeast like rise and stuff, it makes a little bit airier, so I can see that. But honestly they all taste the same to me.

Speaker 1:

And if you put enough berries on top with whipped cream, I'm just excited. It's like more of a delivery vehicle of all the yummy goodness on top. Yes, so what else? Do you have to give us a heads up on these delicious waffles? Have to give us a heads up on these delicious waffles.

Speaker 2:

So did you know that in Norway waffles are typically heart, heart shape? These Norwegian waffles called very, which are often served with sour cream and berries I could probably do it without the sour cream.

Speaker 1:

I can do without. I think the sour cream sounds delicious.

Speaker 2:

I'm not a big fan of sour cream. Wait, so you don't like sour cream pound cake either? No, I don't.

Speaker 1:

I do not. I love that tanginess, so I think for me that would definitely be delicious. Now, friends, I want you guys to weigh in, either in the chat or after you're done with your run. Let us know Would you like the sour cream and berries with your waffle that's from Norway, or are you saying you are absolutely not going to try that whatsoever Sour cream? Do you like sour cream in any capacity?

Speaker 1:

No, I'll eat sour cream and onion chips if that counts, but other than that, no, I think I'd rather have sour cream and berries on my waffle than I'd rather have chicken and waffles. To be honest, I know that's not going to be popular.

Speaker 2:

I'll stand with the chicken and waffles.

Speaker 1:

So don't come at me people who love chicken and waffles. I'm just saying I like my, I like some berries, I feel like it feels a little lighter, all right. Well, did you know that, speaking a little bit of different ingredients, that the earliest waffles, when they were originally made way back when, weren't so associated with all of the sweet versions that we have today? They were actually a bit more on the savory side and they were made with ingredients like cheese Hello, sour cream kind of has a bit of the same taste and herbs. So talking about that sour cream and onion chip, it sounds like that's exactly kind of what. This is what the waffles originally tasted like a little sour cream and and and herby.

Speaker 2:

I mean that sounds really good though Like. Like it depends on my mood and I would be. If I wasn't in the mood for such a sweet for the waffle, I could eat that and I think that would be really good if you do the chicken and waffles, because you get like the herbs and stuff and it would be resembling that stuffing flavor to me I mean to me.

Speaker 1:

The only thing that's throwing me off a little bit is that it feels like it would be too thick and again, this might be where the difference of the yeast versus the baking powder might make a big difference. Um, and I don't know I feel like it might be a little too thick with all of this different super savory stuff. But again you know, yeah, definitely do love me some sweet stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and maybe that would be the case where you would use yeast in that capacity instead of the baking powder. But here neither. Neither here nor there, as you would say.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so hit me with more of your knowledge, drop me with that knowledge that you've got.

Speaker 2:

So did you know that the waffle cone for ice cream was invented at the 1904 World's Fair in St Louis Missouri?

Speaker 1:

which I feel like that would make sense, wouldn't it? To me the state or the world? Fairs always seem to be on the cutting edge of new things for us, things, yes. What do you think about waffle cones? Do you like them? Do you like the traditional sugar cone? Okay, so you're a waffle cone kind of gal.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I do like the waffle cones and I always say it depends on what I'm in the mood for.

Speaker 1:

But generally speaking, if I go to the store and buy like cones, I'll tend to go to just to the waffle cone instead of the regular sugar cone. I think I'm more of a sugar cone kind of gal, to be honest. I think it feels a little crispier to me and it feels like the waffle tends to kind of absorb the ice cream. I don't know. Again, I'm definitely overthinking the entire process and I think that if you think that much about ice cream then probably you're ruining the experience.

Speaker 1:

But you mentioned in our first segment that there are two times a year that are officially recognized as Waffle International Holidays, the first being March 25th. But it actually came out of Sweden I don't know if you know this because they celebrate waffle day and we've kind of just picked up on it. But they, of course, in Swedish call it a waffle dog, and so I'm. I'm just I wanted to just hit that because I've been practicing that waffle dog and I'm hoping that I've got it correctly, and I also feel like this is something that we would find into, maybe, an Epcot. I feel like they need to bring some dog in an Epcot for one of the festivals, so I'm going to go ahead and throw that out there, disney. Bring that, bring that to us.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I feel like they should. This is like a great opportunity for Disney. The market on like waffles and you know, and you run Disney race like why don't you come over and have a dogog?

Speaker 1:

right, it's perfect, it's perfect, yeah. So, friends, today, as you're rolling through here and you're ready to earn your medal or your waffles, you can go ahead and start calling it your waffle dog in metal, if you want we're. We're here to support you with that fact so um?

Speaker 2:

my next trivia. Fact is did you know that the waffles can also be used or can be made using waffle modes, molds in an oven, not just a waffle iron so have?

Speaker 1:

you ever tried that?

Speaker 2:

no, I have never tried that, I don't know. I I'm curious if it would taste the same, or with being baked in the oven, or if there's a little bit of a difference in taste or texture. You know what I mean. Like the crispiness.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I guess I would think you're right. I don't think there's going to be as much crispiness to it. I think it is more like a baked good when it's in the mold. Yeah, because I did Google it and pulled it up and it looks like the ones that seem to happen. Well, the it and pulled it up and it looks like the ones that seem to happen well, the ones. Currently. The more modern versions of these molds are silicone. You can still find some of the more old firing, old, old firing, old-fashioned waffle irons, um, that has the two sides that you could kind of put in the oven. But I don't know, I feel like. I feel like I'm with you. I would want it to be a little. The entire purpose is for it to be crispy, um or at, or at least for me.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I feel I like the crispiness of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's the entire purpose. Like, I love, like, just like that, that texture of that crisp, especially if you're if you're going to load it up with other things on top. So I don't know if you guys have had waffle molds from the oven. Can you let us know what your preference is? Because we want you to weigh in Now. I love this one specifically and evidently it's just because I like, I just like different words and friends. I do want to let you know. You are getting to the end of this, so you only have about just a little bit over 90 seconds. But before you get to the end and we get to our cool down, we want to drop just a little bit more knowledge. So the first Eggo waffles were originally called frothels because it was a combination of frozen and waffles. Why did they let that go? Why did they let go the Eggo of frothels? I?

Speaker 2:

don't get that. I don't get that either. That's such a great marketing name that was a drop on Eggo's for that. I would totally buy it for Eggo.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we want you to bring back frothels, friends. I mean, we are looking for the frothels, so I think we have time for one more. Drop your favorite knowledge, your wisdom, here, with 60 seconds to go.

Speaker 2:

Alright. Did you know that the record for the most waffles eaten in 10 minutes is 29? This record was set by competitive eater Joey Chestnut. I mean with that name, chestnut, you should be the world's record holder for waffles.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I want to know, though, like what kind of waffles? Was it just the waffle, Was it frothels, or was it like homemade waffles? How big were these waffles? So we're going to have to do a little bit of extra research on that one, because I have questions. But friends with that said, we want you to give yourself just a little bit longer. You're pushing just a wee bit more. We have 20 seconds left here before you take it into a cool down, and thank you so much, Sally, for all of this great research and sharing your knowledge with us.

Speaker 2:

And thank you so much for having me on. And great job everyone working hard on getting those miles and doing that long run today.

Speaker 1:

We've got just five, four, three, two and one. All right, my friends, I want you to give yourself a huge high five and a pat on the back because we have officially made it to our walking cool down Now, just like I mentioned at the very beginning of our fun run time together, our walking cool downs are just as important as our walking warmups. Want to start to bring that heart rate down nice and slowly. You don't want to go too fast from a higher heart rate to absolutely just plummeting it down. You also want to give opportunity for your oxygen to continue making its way and circulating through your system. So taking in some really good deep breaths here, that's allowing you to start that muscle repair and deliver all of the great nutrients that are in your oxygen as you wrap up this incredible run Also should help to deliver some of those really beautiful brain chemicals. Help you feel that awesomeness of a job well accomplished With. That said, I want to remind you that we have had so much fun in this Waffle Run with each and every one of you.

Speaker 1:

We are also doing this again for the next two of the summer series and I cannot reiterate again sufficiently. You do not have to be signed up for the summer series through Run Disney. We're doing it because we love it, we want a lot of fun and we want to join in with you guys. So next time if you are here in town, you can also come join us and if not, rsvp anyway so you can be looped in. There's going to be prizes every single summer series virtual weekend that we officially host at Extraordinary Strides, and we also want you to be part of the community and enjoying yourself. So while the next virtual summer series in person is July 7th, we're also going to keep the fun going that entire weekend virtually in our community page. We're going to be celebrating all about that Mickey ice cream bar life and those medals, of course. So you don't have to have a Mickey ice cream bar, but I do strongly suggest that you find a way to implement a little bit of ice cream in that fun run. Again, how do you earn these prizes? Well, it's all about that selfie life. So please do participate with that bingo card or take those selfies and pop them in throughout being active in the community page. Getting support from others and giving support from others that's really what the running community is here for.

Speaker 1:

Hopefully you also share some of those favorite waffle recipes that you guys are refueling with, and let's talk a little bit about some best practices for you to keep in mind as you finish up your run. First and foremost, you should always end your run with some sense of self-satisfaction and accomplishment. So, thinking back as to all the things that went right during this run and maybe some things you wanna tweak for the next time that you get out, of course you wanna refuel and rehydrate to keep yourself at your optimal health performance, and you want to prioritize that mobility and stretching so that you can stay as limber as possible to get in many more runs to go. One of the best ways to continue to stay focused and motivated and inspired is to definitely reach out and connect. So either use that link in episode notes to send me a voicemail or a text message, or pop on in to the community page and say hello to everyone.

Speaker 1:

I can't possibly leave you without another waffle pun, but before I do, I want to thank so very much every single one of you for participating and making this fun, and I want to thank Sally and Lynn for taking time to be here and bring a little bit of extra joy for us all. So, friends, I want to know if you know why the waffle joined the gym To get stacked. That's right. I'm here all weekend. No, really I am. You can't escape my puns. My friends, and don't forget that, even if you don't want to join us for the summer series virtual too, all about the ice cream life which I can't imagine why we are also going to be celebrating not just global running day, but global running spirit week, so you're going to want to join us.

Speaker 1:

From june 3rd to june 9th. We're going to have a theme every single day. I'm asking you to pledge to run or walk one mile every day for the entire week, and I cannot stress enough how much fun we're going to have. We're asking you to use the hashtag global running day week to enter our selfie contest. We're going to have fun themes like a little tiki Thursday or a way back Wednesday. Do you want more details about what that's all about? Join the Stride Collective Facebook community page. That's right, my friend, or our newsletter. Both of those links are in your episode notes. With that said, I want to make sure and reiterate that you are going to do some stretches. You're going to take those selfies with that medal that you earned, or those waffles You're going to refuel with something delicious and nutritious. You're, of course, going to keep running. We're going to refuel with something delicious and nutritious. You're, of course, going to keep running. We're going to all keep shining and we're going to keep making those strides extraordinary.
