The Life Right Here
Episode 43: Staying with Challenges (aka: lessons from my terrifying and painful holiday!)
Hello and welcome to episode 43 of The Life Right Here podcast.
It’s been a fortnight since the last episode and I apologise for that but I had a little family trip to the Victorian High Country - we stayed in the beautiful Alpine town of Bright and went snowboarding at Fall’s Creek which inspired the topic for today’s episode of ‘Staying with Challenges’ - my body is still feeling the effects of an incredibly challenging (brutal!) sport.
In this episode I recount the fear and discomfort of learning something new (and dangerous) and how I moved through this. I also discuss ways we can apply the yogic concept of Dvesha - aversion or repulsion - to our daily life when faced with things that don't feel good.
I end with my lessons learned and some reflective questions that may support you to face those things you're avoiding and be in the discomfort that comes with pushing yourself in new endevours.
As always I'd love to hear your thoughts or any aha moments you had. Tag me on insta @jala_yoga_shala or send me an email jalayogabyron@gmail.com.
Blessings for a peaceful week.
