Hello and welcome back, lovely listeners. I am so happy to be here with you. Today is a very special day for Midweek Insights. It's actually the birthday of Midweek Insights, so happy birthday to the podcast. It's been a year and I can't believe how quickly a year goes by. So I'd like to take a moment to say wow, happy, happy birthday. Wow, because it's so amazing how quickly a year can go past and when you put a focus on producing something once every two weeks or once a week, it's amazing how quickly the weeks just roll on.

And I actually had got me thinking about you out there who are thinking about starting something and have stayed way too long in the thinking process. And today I wanted to get on and I wanted to Speak right to you and say start the thing, stop waiting. What are you waiting for? I mean, I was waiting for about a year before putting on the podcast. First a year of ruminating, thinking, planning, convincing myself to do it, not not to do it, and then, once started, once the momentum got going, then it was like the focus on just creating and you know, being in creative mode and the momentum kind of carried it on. So for you it might not be a podcast. For you, it might be I want to join the gym and I keep putting it off. For you, it might be I want to start up that new hobby or start learning about the new thing I've been interested in. Whatever it is, have the conversation Maybe. Maybe it's a phone call you need to make or something you've been putting off and thinking about, something that's been stirred up inside you that for a while you've been wanting to do and you just keep pushing it and pushing it aside. And what a coincidence today that it is the birthday. I wanted to come on and share something that Actually popped up on my feet from Brian Tracy and it's perfect for you out there who really wants to do the thing, and you keep confusing yourself out of it or talking yourself out of it or whatever it is. You've just told yourself it's not important enough to you.

Speaker 1:

And Brian Tracy says take a clean sheet of paper and write down goals and date. Write down 10 goals that you have or that you would like to accomplish in the next, let's say, 12 months. So, on a clean piece of paper, your 10 goals and Write them in the present tense. So I earn X amount, I achieve what it is I achieve, I weigh. Whatever the goals are, the 10 goals, write them down. I own.

Speaker 1:

Once you've made your list of 10 goals, then look at that list of 10 goals and imagine you have a magic wand and you, one of those goals will Come to life immediately and that's the goal that will have the biggest impact on impact on my life. So if it would, if it were able to come true in the next 24 hours, which is the goal of those that I've written down that would have the greatest impact of my life, and that's the goal that will pop out at you and tell you okay, I'm the one, I'm the one you need to focus on. So then take that goal that you've written so maybe it is in my case, it's to get fit and healthy and to reach a goal weight that I'm happy with, that I'm comfortable and take that goal and write it on the piece of paper and, from that piece of paper, follow the steps that he mentions. So the first one you've done with the writing down the goals, writing down your goal on the piece of paper then is write your deadline. So, is it a year? Is it three months? Is it six months. What is your deadline?

Speaker 1:

Step three is make a list of everything you have to do to accomplish that goal. So does it come with meeting up with a nutritionist, signing up for the gym or a personal trainer putting in walking into your routine at least four times a week? What are those little micro steps that need to happen for this one goal that popped out to become realized? Step four organize your list into some kind of checklist that you can start to tick off. And step six is start taking action. One little action in that direction, but taking the action. And then do step seven. Do something every day in the direction of that goal that popped up on your paper. This is gold. I love Brian Tracy's work and it was such a coincidence because I did want to come up today and share with you to go for it, to take the step, to take the leap, to do the thing.
