Diane M. Simard

A survivor of late Stage III breast cancer in 2015, Diane is an advocate to expand access to mental health resources for those impacted by the psychological trauma of cancer. After completing treatment for Stage IIIc breast cancer in 2015, she founded the Center for Oncology Psychology Excellence (COPE) at the University of Denver, which is featured in her book, The Unlikely Gift of Breast Cancer. Diane is a patient advisor for Blue Note Therapeutics, developing digital therapeutics technology to help manage cancer distress, and represents psycho-oncology interests on the National Consortium of Breast Center’s Survivorship Committee. 

 

She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and was an honor graduate in business from Central Community College in Columbus, Nebr.
