Nerdeen Kiswani's call to Conscience in South Side Jamaica Queens: The Harrowing Plight of Palestinians and the US's Role in their Suffering
Jan 27, 2024 Season 5 Episode 6
O.G. GOAT / Nerdeen Kiswani

When the reverberations of conflict echo through our lives, it's voices like Nerdeen Kiswani that bring the stark human reality into focus. Nerdeen's unfiltered narrative captures the calamity faced by Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, providing an account that traverses beyond mere statistics to the personal toll of over 32,000 lives lost, including 11,000 children, since October 7th. Her passionate plea resonates deeply, urging us to look at the US's role in this tragedy through its provision of arms and funds, an action he deems complicit in genocide—a term affirmed by the International Court of Justice.

As Nerdeen Kiswani shares the harrowing scenes of destruction and loss, she challenges each of us to not only bear witness but to act, to transform empathy into a force against the relentless tide of violence. Join us for a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit amidst the turmoil of war, and a conversation that demands we all take a hard look at the consequences of our inaction.

Speaker 2:

How you doing.

Speaker 1:

I'm okay Very great speech.

Speaker 2:

My name is Lee Kenner OG Goat. From what Part of the Game is that? So I came out here, I've been following you and I want to get a few words from yourself about what's going on. I'm live now. I'm recording and I'll put it up on my podcast which is in five continents. Alright, so the camera's live. If you have anything you want to say, feel free to express yourself 32,000 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7th.

Speaker 1:

Over 11,000 of them have been children. Israel is carrying out the killing, but it is actually US weapons, us manufactured weapons, us tax dollars that are funding this that are being used by Israel to kill Palestinian families en masse. This is a genocide. Whether or not the ICJ found it as a genocide which they did we know it's a genocide. How can you see 32,000 people be killed? How can we watch them on our telephone screens, seeing families pick up their family members, their children, in plastic bags, because their limbs are all disconnected from each other? This is what's happening, plainly and clearly. It is being broadcast on a world stage and nobody is doing anything to stop it. Yes, people are taking Israel to the ICJ and the ICC, but the US can end this right away. They can call for Israel to stop. They can call for Israel to stop attacking and bombing Gaza. They can stop sending weapons to Israel to use on Gaza. They can stop sending our tax dollars, but they choose not to do so.

Speaker 1:

It's shameful. It's disgusting the fact that I have to live in this country and pay taxes to a country that's going to go and kill my people. My family back home is a war. I would be out here, regardless of who it's for. We protested for the Congo. We protested for Sudan. We protested for Palestine. We protest against injustice anywhere. But especially as a Palestinian myself, seeing this being carried out against my people just makes me feel like our lives are meaningless. Our lives are worthless. They can kill us and nobody cares. Nobody cares. It's disgusting.

Speaker 2:

I appreciate that.
