Melissa Steinman has dedicated herself to serving her country, supporting fellow veterans, and making a positive impact on her community. Currently pursuing her PhD at Portland State University, Melissa balances her academic aspirations with her commitment to bettering the lives of others as a successful Platoon Leader of the Mission Continues. Joining Melissa is Lisa, a representative from Do Good Multnomah, the Community Partner of the Portland Platoon. Melissa discusses her service in the Coast Guard, transitioning into civilian life, the balance of Platoon leadership and getting a PhD, and more.
