Amy Lowney

In today’s episode, I sit down with Hannah Gill, owner of Ebb and Flow Birth Co, a birth and postpartum doula, and a childbirth educator. Hannah shares her two very different birth experiences. One was a traumatic C-section, while the other was an empowering VBAC without an epidural. She shares the details of each birth and the mental and physical preparation involved. Hannah also discusses her challenges during both pregnancies and how she coped with unexpected complications during delivery.

Hannah has a passion for helping support women through cesarean and VBAC births and throughout the postpartum period. She is dedicated to empowering mothers with knowledge and education to achieve the positive birth experience they desire. She believes women deserve to be respected and supported in their pregnancy, birth, and parenting choices. It is her goal to help give you the knowledge and support you need to make informed decisions and to feel empowered throughout some of the most difficult and beautiful parts of your life.

In today’s episode, we’re talking about:

  • Hannah’s first birth and why it turned into an unplanned C-section
  • The importance of being educated on birth and advocating for yourself
  • Why you should find a provider who fully supports your VBAC desires
  • The importance of mental preparation for birth, especially after a traumatic experience
  • How a strong support team can make all the difference
  • Knowing your different birth options and making an informed decision about where to give birth
  • How to prepare for a successful VBAC

If you’re looking to experience a successful VBAC, you don’t want to miss this episode! I’d also encourage you to look into Hannah’s 12-week mentorship program so you can feel prepared leading up to your desired VBAC birth experience.
