Ma'u (Ma-ough) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her family hails from the Tonga Islands. She went to Central Methodist University (Columbia, MO) where she got her Masters degree (MA) in Education.
She moved to Texas in 2010 in pursuit of job opportunities in law enforcement. She got hired on at GPPD in 2011 where she worked in detention. In 2015, she became a Team Lead in the detention center. Ma'u then transferred to Criminal Investigations where she works for Major Crimes. She is civilian investigator where she is responsible for runaways and missing persons. In her spare time, she is involved in Santa Cop and peer support.
She has some interesting stories and gives an insight into her culture and upbringing.
