The cracks had been appearing as far back as 1989 within the band. The next few years would see the band lose it's founding members and begin a long period of power struggles and cold relations. It would ultimately result in  finger pointing in the media for many years afterwards.  It was a dark era for Guns N'Roses and one in which it seemed like a resolution would never emerge.
