About Cynthia:
Cynthia is originally from Puerto Rico and is a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, certified trauma specialist and advanced restorative justice practitioner. Cynthia is a career victims’ rights advocate that has spent 13 years in the court system supporting survivors of complex trauma, developing trauma-informed community programs, and providing law enforcement specific training. Cynthia is a member of the State of Georgia’s Human Trafficking Task Force, Fulton County Family Violence Task Force, Spelman College’s Coordinated Community Response Team, and regularly guest lectures on victimology and social work protocols to undergraduate and graduate students. Cynthia believes in cultivating a culture of purpose that empowers us to pursue our passions to affect large scale positive impact. Passionate for innovation at every turn and developing strategic partnership models. "Collaborating with communities to ensure that people can access services that offer meaningful life opportunities is my jam." Cynthia was recently recognized as Georgia State University’s 40 under 40 Alumni and selected to MIT & Stand Together Venture Labs’ Unbundle Policing Accelerator Program.
