26. “Leap for Love” - Shifting Focus From Professional To Personal, With Cori
May 24, 2023 Season 1

Cori was (and mostly still is) a pragmatist.  In her twenties and much of her thirties, she grew her career, friendships, and sense of self.  Then, one day, a chance encounter changed everything.  Eight yeas later, in Ep. 26, Cori shares how she:

  • Took one leap (totally unrelated to love) that led to the next;
  • Met Emiliano (her now life partner) by chance - but knew, *listened to herself,* and decided it was time to take some risks;
  • Against a lot of odds - geography, language, career - made it work;
  • Dealt with challenges on the other side - including adjusting to switching countries, her own personal reckoning with putting her personal life ahead of her career; and finally - though she and Emiliano have a daughter now - Cori talks really openly, for the first time, about fertility struggles and miscarriage (something that one in three couples experience but very few are talking about) — and which takes its own kind of courage.

Today's leap is a story of a great love, yes, but also of overcoming a whole lot of barriers, logistics and heartbreak, and the power of cultivating a dogged certainty that, in the end, things will work out and if they haven’t yet then, well, it must not be the end.
