#14 Sam Elwin- Following Your Father's Footsteps
May 16, 2023 Season 2 Episode 6
Jamie Minors

Sam Elwin is 30 years old and co-runs The Bodycentre, East Anglia's largest accident repair and vehicle improvement specialists, which was originally set up by his parents in 1996.

Having planned to learn from his father and take over the family business one day, unexpected tragedy meant Sam lost his father when he was just 17, shattering his dreams.

Sam was thrown into the deep-end, realising his purpose was to step into his father's shoes, he began co-running the business as a teenager, subsequently growing it into a household name, winning a multitude of awards, serving premier league footballers and recently working on a rare Ferrari worth around £3million.

We talk about the sacrifices Sam had to make with his friends and social life, his toxic relationship with his step-dad (now his best friend), and how a family unit can bounce & grow together.

Is it healthy to bury yourself into work, at the cost of friendships? Well, nothing else mattered as his focus kicked in to serve his purpose.

The power of social media has been phenomenal for The Bodycentre, whereby building long-lasting relationships can be proven to those abroad, brining in specific work from other countries.

Sam opens up about the changes his two girls have made, and what it means to his business by having a supporting wife.

These two questions also get answered:

What are the two best investments you can make?

How do you use pain positively?

It's episode 14, it's the last in season 2 and it's unmissable.
