The Business-y Podcast Ep. 31 Dr. Hamid Shirvani, Higher Education Innovation Group

The American Education system has been a topic of very hot debate; from student debt forgiveness to what is entitled as "free speech" on campuses. Universities like University of Pennsylvania, Harvard and California State University have all made headlines lately with students at the forefront of the highly social issues. Retired President of California State University Stanislaus, Dr. Hamid Shirvani, sat down to talk about his experience as an immigrant student, scholar, professor, president, chancellor and board member about how to tackle some of these highly delicate issues with America's universities and the general education system at hand. 

Dr. Shirvani, or "professor" if you ask him to state his title, holds not only a Ph.D. from Princeton University but also a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Harvard, a Masters of Science from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, and a Masters of Architecture from Pratt Institute. His experience of architectural planning has spanned from not only the constructs of urban planning but also how to construct a functioning university of education.
