Speaker 1:

Well, hello, teachers, and welcome to your Monday Mindset podcast episode. These are short, little snippets of thoughts, reflections that I share with you on a weekly basis, that are focused around mindset things that we can do to live our best lives, to live an intentional life, and I invite you to not just listen to these for yourself and how they apply to you in your life, but consider sharing them with other people too. Consider sharing them with your students every Monday and having a conversation about it and doing a reflection together, because I think a lot of these thoughts, these topics, these questions are just a part of being human, and sometimes being human can feel lonely and to know that other people are struggling through some of the same challenges that you are and are benefiting from having these types of conversations is hugely powerful in allowing us to get to be the best version of ourselves, to take who we are and who we be and who we show up in the world as to that next level. So I really hope that you enjoy these Monday mindsets and, if you do, let us know over on our Instagram at Evie academics. Thanks so much for listening and let's dive into our Monday mindset. Well, hello, teachers, and welcome back to another Monday mindset. I hope these Monday mindsets are serving you and, if they are, if you can, let us know over on Instagram at EB Academics, send me a direct message. If they're serving you in your life or if you're using them with your students, I would love to hear from you. I read all of our direct messages and it would just mean a lot to me to hear from you guys.

Speaker 1:

So today we're diving into a powerful concept on how showing up to serve others can really elevate your own energy into new heights, and this is something that I truly believe can start to transform your life. So we all know that feeling of being just stuck in a rut. Maybe you're having a bad day, perhaps it's a tough week, and it can just kind of feel like your energy is dragging or like your energy is leaking out of you, if you will, and it's really hard when you're in those moments to see like, okay, well, how can I get out of this? How can I change my perspective? How can I get out of this particular just energetic feeling right, and what I found is one of the most effective ways to start to lift yourself up and to start to raise your own vibration is by lifting others up first, and I really believe that when we start to show up for others and we serve others, we really raise our own energy to just a whole new level. So I want to break down why this happens and how you can harness this powerful practice in your own life.

Speaker 1:

So first, when we serve others and when we show up for others, it starts to shift our focus, right. So when we're so caught up in our own problems, it can start to feel overwhelming and you get in this like loop, this negative feedback loop, right. But when you take the time to kind of disrupt that thought pattern and disrupt that kind of energetic way of being and you take the time to help somebody else, your focus temporarily moves away from your issues and onto theirs and helping them. And this shift can really start to bring like a sense of relief, a different perspective. And I think it's also important because it reminds us that we're not alone. Everybody has their challenges and suddenly it starts to feel like, oh, we're all connected, we're all going through something, right. So your problems don't feel as insurmountable because you're not alone, right? That's something I think about all the time. The struggles that I'm going through are not unique to me. It's not like I'm the only person in the history of the world who's ever gone through this problem or whatever it is that I'm facing. So it's helpful when you start to realize like, oh, we're all connected in some capacity and here's how I can show up for somebody else and in the same way, I'm really showing up for myself as well.

Speaker 1:

The second thing that I love about shifting your focus to serving others is that it really starts to foster gratitude. I once heard somebody say that when you are in a grateful state of mind, it's very difficult to be anxious, because you're. You can't be anxious while also being thankful at the same time. And when you help somebody in your life in whatever capacity, that means we're often reminded of everything that we do have, and it's a natural reflection. That happens I'll just give you a silly example when we're volunteering. I was volunteering this past week at my son's like festival of fun for his school and someone was sharing like a personal thing that they're going through right now and it made me realize, oh my gosh, all the things that I'm going through are really not that big of a deal, right and so, because I was really sitting with my gratitude for all that I have in relationship and um, what's the word I'm looking for? Contrast what they were going through. It really made me more appreciative of my difficult circumstance, and so that just kind of sense of gratitude can start to uplift your spirit a little bit and really boost your mood, and we're thankful. Being grateful is, gosh, such a beautiful way to live in this world.

Speaker 1:

And then, third, I think you know the most importantly, the most important point that I want to share is that serving others and showing up for others really raises your own vibration. Right, everything in this universe is made up of energy, including us, like we are just made up of energy. And when you perform acts of kindness, you perform acts of service, you're engaging in positive actions that resonate just inherently at a higher frequency, at a higher vibration, and that higher vibration allows you to live a more joyful, peaceful life in connection to others. And I just want you to think about it. You know, when you make someone smile, don't you just feel a little bit happier too? Right, like laughter is contagious, and that's your vibration rising. It's this beautiful cycle of the more that you give, the more that you receive. What you give comes back to you tenfold. So you might be wondering okay, well, how can I incorporate this into my daily life? And what's great about this is it really doesn't have to be complicated Simple ways to start serving others.

Speaker 1:

The first one that so many of us just don't do is to listen actively. Sometimes people just need somebody to listen to them. So offering that compassionate ear, that non-judgmental friendship to somebody is such a profound act of service to someone else in their life. You can also perform random acts of kindness, and these can be small things like paying for somebody's coffee, you can leave a note for a coworker, or just really even offering a sincere compliment. I do that all the time. I'm constantly offering just things that I notice about people that are true and authentic, that make them feel good about themselves. Like, why not tell somebody that, oh my gosh, you look great today, or I love that haircut, or you know you're, you look like you're getting so much stronger at the gym, or whatever? It might be man that feels good to give that to somebody else and for them to get to receive that.

Speaker 1:

Another simple thing that I do that's very, um easy if you can make it happen is I, and I don't know if this cause I was cause. I was in the service industry for a long time but I consistently tip way more than I need to. So, like, if we're going to get ice cream and it's four or $5 for the ice cream, I will give them $10. Sure, that might be difficult for me, for my family financially to be able to do that, and I know that me giving this to them is my way of energetically giving to the universe and it's going to come back to me. So that's not going to land for everybody, but it's something that lands for me, that I do on a consistent basis in my life.

Speaker 1:

And then the last one that I wanted to share that, I think, is so speaking into like a higher vibration of, like authenticity and being authentically who you are, is sharing your skills.

Speaker 1:

Like, if you have a talent or you have an expertise or if you have a zone of genius, share it with other people. People want to experience your gift. I just think that's such a beautiful way to show up authentically in serving other people. So as you start to incorporate these acts of service into your life, I want you to pay attention to how you feel, notice the boost in your mood, notice the increase in your gratitude, notice the overall rise in your energy levels, and I really truly believe that you are going to very likely find that the more that you give, the more that you receive, the more vibrant and alive that you feel. So I really hope that that serves you in some capacity. By showing up for others, you get to elevate your energy and transform your life. It's a simple yet very profound practice that has impacted my life in a hugely positive way. So I hope you guys have a wonderful week and I will see you next week on the podcast. Here's to a great week of living intentionally.
