Speaker 1:

Welcome to a brand new episode of Reverse Reset. Restore your Life Now, today. Let's explore how meditation can benefit you, and then I'm going to give you the opportunity to reconnect to yourself right now through a breathwork. Meditation Change comes from within. If you've been a listener of the show, you may have already participated in this practice. Meditation can be a challenging word for some people, so if it makes you feel a little more receptive, consider using words like mindfulness, stillness, the pause, reconnecting or this present moment, or whatever feels right for you. I don't want you to get hung up on the terminology here and miss out on the key takeaways of the benefits of pausing and being present in this moment in your life.

Speaker 1:

Our world is fast-paced. It's designed for us to be racing around and always doing, doing, doing. In actuality, we were never designed to always be in this collective motion of rushing. Finding moments of stillness and calm can be a challenge and even uncomfortable. However, incorporating meditation or mindfulness into your daily routine can significantly enhance your overall well-being, and this is nothing new.

Speaker 1:

Meditation is an ancient practice that can be used for a multitude of benefits for our lives. Not only does it reduce stress and improve our physical well-being, it fosters emotional balance and mental clarity and can lead to significant spiritual awareness, if that is what you're seeking. What you're seeking, meditation involves intentionally focusing on the present moment with non-judgmental awareness. By cultivating mindfulness, you learn to observe your thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them, fostering a sense of inner peace and tranquility. Here are six benefits of practicing meditation 1. Stress Reduction Taking time to meditate reduces the production of stress hormones like cortisol, promoting relaxation and a sense of calm. 2. Improved Focus and Concentration. Improved focus and concentration. Regular practice enhances your ability to concentrate, to stay present and make decisions with clarity. Meditation can allow you to connect to your higher self and spirit, or God or the universe, or whatever terminology most fits for you.

Speaker 1:

I believe we are spiritual beings and it's important to honor that part of ourselves, our true selves, because that part of us is eternal. Meditation is a powerful tool for enhancing your overall well-being. By dedicating just a few minutes every day to cultivate a meditative practice, you can reduce stress, improve focus and experience a deeper sense of inner peace. There are many different types of meditations or mindfulness practices that you can try. In just a few moments. I'm going to lead you through a 10-minute meditation where we will be simply focusing on our breath. I encourage you to stick around for that, or make some time for it today to gift to yourself this practice. It can truly lead to a transformative experience For me. This helps me calm my mind down and dwell in the here and now, which is all we really ever have. As Sri Chimura says, I meditate so that my mind cannot complicate my life. I've also included this meditation as its own video on the Reverse Reset Restore YouTube channel, and I encourage you to check that out if you don't want to hear the first part of this episode again.

Speaker 1:

Let's begin our meditation. Welcome to this guided meditation session dedicated to exploring the profound connection between our breath and our emotions. During these next 10 minutes, we will delve into the transformative power of conscious breathing, understanding how inhalation and exhalation can influence our inner state and promote a deeper sense of calm and clarity. Breath is a constant companion throughout our lives, yet its potential to impact our emotional landscape often goes unnoticed. When we harness the rhythm of our breath, we gain access to a powerful tool for managing stress, anxiety and cultivating a heightened awareness of the present moment. Scientifically, breathing techniques have been shown to directly affect our nervous system, shifting us from a state of heightened alertness the sympathetic nervous system to a state of relaxation and calm the parasympathetic nervous system. By simply observing and regulating our breath, we can activate this relaxation response, promoting emotional resilience and a greater sense of well-being.

Speaker 1:

In today's meditation, we will focus on mindful breathing as a means to explore and possibly transform our emotional landscape. We will observe how our breath changes with our emotions and, conversely, how altering our breath can influence our emotional state. Through this practice, we aim to create a deeper understanding of ourselves and develop a skill that can be applied in our daily lives to enhance overall well-being. As you engage in this breathing meditation, you'll discover that breath work has the power to shift and move energy throughout your body. Breathing is a form of energy and this process may bring emotions to the surface, possibly leading to crying or screaming, or physical movement. Allow your body to express these emotions freely, reserving all judgment, as this can lead to profound emotional crisis.

Speaker 1:

Before we begin, I want you to find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, where you can relax, close your eyes gently if you feel comfortable, or maintain a soft gaze ahead. Start by taking a moment to settle into this space, allowing any tension in your body to soften with each breath. Take a few moments now to notice your current state of mind and body without judgment. Observe the rhythm of your breath as it flows naturally as we progress through this meditation, remember that your breath is your anchor, a steady point of focus that you can return to whenever you feel distracted or overwhelmed. Let's begin our journey into the transformative power of breath and emotions.

Speaker 1:

Breath and emotions. We begin now with a deep breath in filling up your lungs, feeling the tightening in the chest and your diaphragm Slowly expel the air. Noticing the tension easing from your chest as the air leaves your body, I am going to direct your inhalations and exhalations, but allow yourself to be guided by your body, your intuition, your very own breathing patterns. This is the moment for you to connect and reflect with your body. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Allow any thoughts that come into your mind. Acknowledge them, just be present with them and then allow them to float away. Don't get hung up on your thoughts. Thoughts are always going to happen. Don't get hung up on your thoughts. Thoughts are always going to happen. Just be aware of them and then gently bring your mind back to breathing, breathe out. Pay attention to how your body feels with each breath in and with each breath released.

Speaker 1:

Breathing in relaxation, breathing out tension. Breathing in low, breathing out low. Every breath in takes you into a deeper state of calm and rest. Every breath out, shifting all the old, tired energy out of your body. Breathing in, breathing out, breathing out. Breathing in, breathing out all the stuck emotions that are keeping you tense or stressed or frustrated. Breathing in renewed energy and strength and peace. Breathing in and out, in and out.

Speaker 1:

Listen to the rhythm of your breath. It is the same rhythm of nature your breath running in and out of your body like a stream, like the ebb and flow of ocean waves upon the shore, like the sounds of wind rustling in the trees. Thank you, remember you are deeply connected to all living things, to the elements and the energy of the world, the ebb and flow of ages. Each breath in taking in the beautiful energy of our planet. Each breath world, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe in, breathe out. I love you.

Speaker 1:

As we come to the end of our breathing meditation, I want you to focus your breath on different parts of your body or on your mind or wherever you might have pain or worry sitting in your body. Just focus your attention in that space now and breathe in love and calm and peace and breathe out all the grief and hurt and anger, pain, breathing in deeply love into your body and breathing out, releasing all the tension and all the pain that you might have experienced tension and all the pain that you might have experienced. You can come back to this practice at any time. You don't have to lie down. You can just, wherever you are, take a moment, breathe in deeply, breathing in appreciation and love for the energy that is coming into your body and releasing that same beautiful energy out into the world.
