Date Night In with Dave and Jess
Nights out on the town are great, but when you're a busy married couple with two kids sometimes it's more relaxing to make cocktails at home and watch a movie on your favorite streaming service. David and Jessica started Date Night In as an entertaining way to review movies available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Disney Plus while suggesting a cocktail pairing to go along with the viewing.
Date Night In with Dave and Jess
Hunger (2023)
This week Dave & Jess watch Hunger on Netflix, which they pair with a John Collins (not a Tom Collins) cocktail. They've been anticipating this movie for a while now - you'd be forgiven for not realizing that since they continuously got the name wrong and called it "Heat" instead of "Hunger" when discussing it in previous weeks. This Thai drama is most certainly not the incomparable crime thriller starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, but does the movie stand up to other culinary inventions from recent years? Or should this movie pack its knives and head home?
The couple discuss some of the triggering imagery in the film, and how it is listed as being 2 hours and 10 minutes long by Netflix despite being over 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
Other topics include the scarcity of Mekhong liquor in the U.S., Netflix's poor history of subtitling foreign films, and the fakest breasts ever seen on film.
