Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA:

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly:

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series.

LA:

I'm LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now, let's get tipsy. Hello, la. Hey Burley.

Berly:

So last week on something wicked. We watched Sam and Dean investigate a small town in Wisconsin, where children were falling into comas for apparently no reason at all. They couldn't figure it out. They didn't know what it was. Turned out. It was the creepy fucking doctor and I kind of knew it all along. Yeah, it didn't like his face. Yeah, you said that whoever that actor is. I'm sorry. I know. I'm sorry. It's very rude. I'm sorry. But it's just, it's the truth. When we're tipsy and talking about things, the filters just seem to turn off.

LA:

We're not always so nice. Yeah.

Berly:

Apologies. Apologies in advance to everyone. Anyway, they discover that creepy face doctor is a witch. And he is creeping into the bedrooms have children at night and like sucking out their lifeforce? I think it was. And we find out that there's there's some history there. Yep. Which sucked on little Sam. Hmm, I should rephrase tried to Yeah, I should rephrase that as well, that the witch tried. You tried to suck out Sam's lifeforce. And then he tried to do it again when he was adult. Yeah. But luckily, Dean rescued him, of course, to save his baby brother. Yet again. They saved the children as well. Got rid of that old which, when we got a better glimpse at John Winchester as a dad, and I gotta say, not great.

LA:

Yeah.

Berly:

So it was it was a good story as far as kind of understanding why Sam and Dean are a little codependent. Yeah, not the healthiest of relationships. Why that protectiveness is there? And not so much understanding the blind obedience to the dad. But

LA:

that's all they know. And they knew you know, True. True, true.

Berly:

It was a good little episode.

LA:

Yeah, it was good.

Berly:

I liked this week's better. Yeah,

LA:

this was good. I enjoyed this. A lot going on. Did I mean they always do but

Berly:

so take us into the recap for I hope I'm pronouncing provenance. They said the word a few times on the show. Hang on, let me Google its

LA:

provenance. I kept thinking you were saying Providence at first. But then I realized it was provenance.

Berly:

Let's see here. What's the definition of provenance? A place or origin? know a place of origin or earliest known history of something? The beginning of something's existence, something's origin, or a record of ownership of a work of art, or an antique used as a guide to authenticity, or quality? So it's probably that last one.

LA:

Last one. That last? Oh, that was? Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, I mean, pretty much. Yeah. For this episode, for sure.

Berly:

Yeah. They were saying provenance provenance. And I'm like, What are they talking about? Find the provenance. I'm not fancy. I don't know what that word means. That we do. Now we do. Take us into the recap.

LA:

Yeah. So we start out with his fancy couple.

Berly:

I thought we were gonna get to see some action through and he had a nice little body. I was like, oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

LA:

I was happy for them. Yeah, I was terrible. I wasn't. But yeah, so they obviously went to some art show or something. And they have this painting that he's hanging on the mantel.

Berly:

And they're well off tree. Yeah.

LA:

I mean, the house. Awesome. Yeah. And there's staring at it. And it's this picture of a old, like a family from like, the 1800s or something like that. And as it tends to go, I always feel like there's a little creepy looking. Yeah. And the lady confirms that I'm not crazy, because she's like, isn't it a little creepy? And then they start, you know, getting hands on each other. I guess the creepy photo, gotta go on forum. And she he tells her to head upstairs. And she gets ready. She's got her little 990 on the handle. Yes, she's ready. And poor thing. He's downstairs, locking up, and he we see him. He's going up the stairs, taking clothes off as he's going. And he gets in bed ready? And

Berly:

he's like, Did you spill something? Like what happened here?

LA:

And we see that his hand is covered in blood. Yeah. And then we see that she is dead and cut lots of blood. very gory. Yeah. That was quite a start.

Berly:

The other cool thing they did is when he was locking up, they showed something from the perspective like we couldn't see what it was it was from whatever this things perspective was whereas going up the stairs, and it sounded like something was being dragged, which we know at the end of the episode is really yield, that it's a little girl dragging the doll. But that was that was a very creepy cool shot of them going up the stairs. And I was like, did you hear that? What's that noise supposed to be? And so that I liked that shot.

LA:

Yeah. Spoiler alert. Yeah. Well, I

Berly:

mean, if you haven't watched the episode, I can't imagine you'd be listening to us just yet. But yeah, spoiler alert. It's not the dad. It's the little girl. And then the other thing I did notice is all the people who buy this painting, like you just said, they put it prominently displayed over the mantel of their fireplace. Why would you do that with some other family that Yeah, I thought that was weird. Yeah. Anyway, it was a good intro.

LA:

Yeah, I don't think I'd be buying a painting of another family anyway, but true. Annie, who watch around row. So the boys we have them arrive in upstate New York. And they we learned that mark and Aunt Alaska are the ones that were murdered in the beginning. And they're looking through dad's journal. And Sam thinks it's a little weird that they were found dead in their house, everything was locked up, because we know he was downstairs locking up. And they realized that he had a record of, I think, a couple other murders that had happened over the decades in this place, like in the same manner, because I guess everybody's throats are slit.

Berly:

Yeah, he said it was to where it was two or three other people in the same area of upstate New York, where it was similar circumstances, throat slit, no sign of injury, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. And also in the bar scene, we find out that Dean is hitting on girls by telling them he's a scout for a reality TV show. Yeah. And really hit me this week. Dean's kind of a creep.

LA:

Well, I mean, to like, he's never gonna have like a relationship when they're traveling the way they do. So it's like, I'm sure he's just trying to have a little fun with it like,

Berly:

and if you're hooking up with somebody purely because that's their job. I mean, I'm not gonna say you deserve it. But you're probably not going to be that disappointed if it doesn't go anywhere as well. Yeah. So you're probably just doing it like, let's see what happens. See where this goes.

LA:

But then anyway, we go the boys go investigate. Sam does his wet EMF thing throughout the house, and he doesn't find anything says it's clean. But he mentions that all the furnishings are gone, too. So Dean's like, well, well, we need to find that stuff. Because maybe something's attached to one of the items from the house. And they ended up at an auction house with a lot of very fancy rich white people.

Berly:

Remember when they were looking at people you were like, Oh, the wasps are swarming

LA:

for sure. I mean, immediately the way the one guy looked at deed and Sam is are walking in, I'm like, Oh, God. But Dean was so so funny. He's like, eating all those snacks. And I loved it when the guy he was like some champagne and seems like he's not awake. And then they finally bring it by and he's like, sniffs it and then like, just gives them a look and walks off. I was like, Oh my God.

Berly:

It's fucking adorable. Yeah, kind of a creep. But still adorable. I'd still hit it.

LA:

Yeah, so the guy that they were talking to ends up. He's, I think he's he's the owner of the auction. And his daughter walks up. And of course, she's gorgeous, beautiful. And she takes a liking to Sam. Dean takes notice. And she starts to tell them about the painting because they're looking at it.

Berly:

She like test Sam like says, oh, it looks like blahdy blah, and Sam like kind of smokes. Like, I know what's going on here. And he's like, actually, I was thinking it more was like, Who to who? But you knew that you were just trying to figure out if I did. Oh, and she's like, Oh, and then she knew she had to have them. Yeah, I think that was the moment. I mean, she already was interested. But for sure. Yeah.

LA:

Well, do you notice is that she takes a liking to him. And so he suggests that he take her to dinner on a date to schmoozer and get some more info. User. Real, real good encouraging. Again, dear brother,

Berly:

we're finding out Dean's kind of a creep. Oh, I don't want to believe it. The little interaction was cute, though, where he's like, You need to hook up. Yeah, Sam gets all defensive. And then Dean says something along lines of maybe you won't be so cranky. Yeah. Yeah. And Sam just kind of shuts up at that.

LA:

I mean,

Berly:

to there at dinner,

LA:

right. Yeah. And it's cute. He He's clearly out of his element there in like this fancy restaurant and the guy gives them the whitelist. And he's, you can tell he's like, it doesn't know what the hell to do. And she's sweet enough that she's like, I'm just going to take a beer. Yeah. So that was cute. And they get to chatting and her. She hasn't gotten a date since her mom died suddenly, like a year or so ago and they kind of bond and what happened? Did they talk about the painting on the date? I don't think they do really. It's just them talking getting to know each other right.

Berly:

Now. I think they did talk about the painting a little bit but I don't think she shared much information other than what Sam already knew, like they had already know On that there were these three previous owners of the painting and then it was put in storage until it was sold to the Alaska's. And then they were talking about the painting again.

LA:

I also thought it was funny after I think this might be a little before the date, but how they go into the motel room and it's like disco themed.

Berly:

I loved that was so cute. And they made sure that we got to see this. Where are these motels? I want to go stay in these motels because there was one motel they had where there was like practically a tree in there. And then this motel, the bar, the decor, it just looks like a good time. Yeah. I want to go stay in these motels.

LA:

It is cute. After the dinner date. They aggressively go and jump the fence at the auction house. I

Berly:

liked it. I liked it. My God. reminded in asylum they they showed that Dean scale the fence and Vance fence. I liked that shot. And I just I liked this one too. I liked it. Yeah, they can scale me.

LA:

They go in and cut the picture out of the frame and burn it thinking which we both were like this seems a little too easy. Yes. Of course. That wasn't all I needed to do. So Dean, his genius plan. He tells Sam that he dropped his wallet last night at the auction house, they need to go back and get it like oh my god, they're gonna get in trouble. And they they walk in like looking all panic looking everywhere. And Sarah comes up on. And lo and behold, Dean pulls out his wall and was like, oh, yeah, I gotta give you that 20 bucks, I owe you. And then he's like, I'm going to take off. So he just did it to get him to go back and meet up with Sarah, which I thought was so cute. Yeah. While he's while he's standing there talking to her. They're bringing the painting by that they supposedly cut out last night. But it's it's it's still back. It came back a groove back. And it's going by, like, it's so awkward. But Sam just like, Oh my God. I'm just having like a normal conversation and John it oh my god.

Berly:

I loved it. Because you and I are both terrible about over reacting to little things like, like, I have these measuring cups that hang on the inside of a cabinet and La knows they're there. And yet every time she opens the cabinet, Erica freaks me out. Just it was it was such an exaggerated response. But I found it very relatable. Yeah, I would have done that. Yeah.

LA:

I mean, he's like, the hell we burden.

Berly:

He's all flustered afterwards, like, yeah. Oh, my, oh, begging her not to sell the painting.

LA:

Yeah. So he's like, don't don't sell that he then he realizes they need to do a little more investigating. So they head to the library where your favorite character is.

Berly:

I loved the library. And he was so enthusiastic to help Sam and ease into it. He was very, very happy to talk to them about everything. And he found a lot of shit for them. He did.

LA:

Yeah, he was like, Star row. Yeah. And he tells us that in the painting, it's Isaiah merchant and his family hits his three kids and wife, I believe. And there's a picture behind them. And then there's the switchblade on a table in front of them. And they're all looking forward. Right. Which before this, the father was looking down at the daughter. So it's

Berly:

changing the library and tells them that I think that they were on the Titanic. I know I saw the word no, I

LA:

think it was a it was a headache was about the Titanic. But the article below is where it talks about him wearing his fate. I

Berly:

thought that he murdered his family on the Titanic. So I was really confused later, when they were showing that the bodies had been cremated.

LA:

No, no, no. That was just the headline of the day. Gotcha. But lower news was that the local man had slit barber family. Yes, he was a barber by trade. And he slit his whole family's throats and then killed himself.

Berly:

Yes. Okay. That makes more sense. Yeah, the librarian

LA:

pulls up a picture of the original painting. And that's when we see that it's changed from what they originally saw. So Sam wants to call Sarah up and see if they can view it again, just to make sure if it's changed again in any way,

Berly:

and Dean was saying it's changing for a reason, right? Let's see if there's something else different.

LA:

And she tells them that her father actually sold it to a friend of theirs named Evelyn. And he's like, what the hell it told you not to sell it and right. And so they all rush over to this lady's house, and Sarah insists on going and it's this lovely lady, I guess it's just living by herself and they walk up but honor and hurt. Art's not just slit. It is like, cut halfway off a mosque like a little.

Berly:

And before they show them show up at the house. They actually showed Evelyn sitting in her. Oh, you're by the fire having her tea. And again, the painting is prominently displayed on the mantel. And they did a cool shot. You're the one who was like that was really yeah, they

LA:

show the the switchblade like moving threw her eyeglasses that she sat down.

Berly:

Yeah, it was really cool. And we still don't see who's doing this. Like we see the attack from the attackers perspective and Evelyn being like, whoa, right. So we're still not sure who's doing this. Obviously the assumption is that it's Isaiah because of the new story said he killed everybody.

LA:

Well, they alert the police that poor Evelyn's gone and they go back to the hotel room, motel room. And Sarah shows Cher comes in and she's hottie. She's, she wants to know what's going on. She's there to help. She's not gonna go take no for an answer. So they decided to go back to Evelyn's house, they look at the painting. And then I think the switch blades moved a different way. And then the I think the father's had his turn again. And then their notice the picture behind them that I thought looked like it was the same frame that this actual painting is in

Berly:

that was very absorbent. By the way, I didn't even notice there was a picture behind them until you said that and it ended up being very important it true

LA:

that well, they didn't say it was same frame, but it's which odd to have a picture of your family's Maza lien hanging in your house. But it's that's what it was. It's like they've got one of those ones that stand on their own and then the whole family's inside but on the top it said merchant don't know why you'd have a painting of that in your house. But all right.

Berly:

Well, I think that they said, I think they said this later, I could be making it up in my head because I do that sometimes. But I think they said later that Isaiah was trying to warn people. That's why he was looking at the daughter in the painting. And that's why there were certain changes happening in the painting because it was Isaias ghost trying to get people to figure out yeah, this little bitch is killing people. Yeah, so I guess I guess ghost paint somehow snapped a picture or did something to wear. He put that up there in the painting

LA:

that takes them like three tries at different cemeteries and then they finally find the mausoleum go in break in Reagan. Yep. Yeah. And it's they've got which I don't know that. I always think that like the urns are inside where they have a little nameplates or whatever but these urns were sitting outside and then for the kid each of the kids they had like a little window unit thing that should had like each of their favorite toys which is super creepy. And little girls was there the doll that we still just is it all the painting? Yes. Okay, that she has in the painting and D notices that Isaiah is not there so then they track down where he or Dean tracks down where he goes back to the library and tracks down where Isaiah was buried and they gave him a poppers burial date just a pine box and buried in a cemetery so they go and dig him up burn his bones

Berly:

I remember you commenting on how like kudos to Sarah for not immediately being freaked out that we're gonna go we're gonna go dig up a grave.

LA:

I was like, I mean, I know they're really hot and like seem like nice guys or whatever. But I think I'd be wondering, I that's where if I was alive, like if I was there and I'm like sitting in the cemetery watching these two guys dig up a grave I'd be like, No, that I should have come at myself.

Berly:

Like I've already done we're at all we've already like broken into somebody's home and that person ended up being murdered. Yeah, and we've already broken into their home again and tampered with the crime scene. And now we're sitting here digging up graves like do I want the D this bad? They're they're breaking

LA:

a lot of locks.

Berly:

I mean, if I didn't, it's been a while to get caught.

LA:

Yeah. But anyway, so they decide just to be on the safe side. Let's head back to Evelyn's and burn the painting again. No, just to you know, make sure that shits dead. And Sam and Sarah actually get trapped in the house or indeed can't get it and he tries to pick the lock. All that stuff can get in. Sam realizes the spirit is in the house coming for them. And I think he says one of the they need Psalter iron.

Berly:

Yes, yes. And they looked at the painting and saw the little girl wasn't she was gone. Yeah.

LA:

And so which makes sense because I think I think what it said to was like he was trying to warn them but also like restraining her, like keeping her in the painting. You know, and now that his bones are gone.

Berly:

She's free. She's loose.

LA:

Yep. And she's creepy.

Berly:

She was creepy as fuck. Kudos to that actress. Right. She came around the corner. She didn't have to say shit, right? No one's super scary. Yeah.

LA:

Oh, and she's so she shows up and she's like Dean's Dean actually found that they were searching the house for something like iron or whatever. And it just happens to be by the poker for the fire.

Berly:

They're looking under the chair of iron and it's like the fireplaces right there. Come on,

LA:

but right so she starts coming at them but then she does this weird thing with her face where it's like I've said creepy a lot and

Berly:

there was a creepy episode. It was you did you were like, oh, creepy, right? Yeah, creepy.

LA:

He takes a swipe better with the poker and she disappears.

Berly:

After that they're like yelling and screaming. And Sarah tells Sam that because she's that antique specialist that little kids dolls were made in their image to the point that they might even use the kid's hair. Yeah. And so Sam yells at Dean through the door so Sam, so Dean takes off to the mausoleum to go burn, burn that door.

LA:

He bust those gates down in the car. You were like, oh, yeah, he

Berly:

just drove right through them. I was like to him, I thought we were gonna get to see him climb a fence again, the

LA:

brothers in danger. He's gotta he's got to help his baby bro. Wastin time with gates. Then it goes back to the Evelyn's house and this little girl slams. Is it a piano? Like a big old piano?

Berly:

I think it was just a desk with a hutch. Yes, that

LA:

Yeah. slams it into Dr. Sam. I mean, yeah, I mean, that looks like it hurt. Yeah. Sara tries to come over and get him which girl throws her across the room into the wall. And she starts coming at her with the blade. Sweet, sweet Sam just somehow gets away from that desk. And what looks like he's doing it like one handed when he's pushing it away from himself.

Berly:

Drawn man true. And he cares about her true. He already told her he heard about her. Because remember, there's that scene where he's like, people that care about they end up dying. And then he was like, Oh, you have an eyelash on your face. And he took his finger. Oh, yeah. The eyelash off. And I told him, Do you know what I told you? I remember. I told LA. I was like, I would have deep throated his finger and then said, Guess what I wished for? Oh, my God. When he was holding that finger right in front of her face. He was asking for it. Come on. Oh my god.

LA:

Anyway, Sam, like, runs right into her gets her out of harm's way. And they turn around and Dean's finally at the Muslim bus shoots through the window to get the little doll and lights her hair on fire. And then I think the little girl's about to take another swipe at them. And then she burns up because Dean saved the day in the nick of time. They are back at the auction house and and they're the guys were there packing it up. And so they're like, Okay, where should we take it? Not our guys, the guys that worked for the Auction House and she's like, taken aback and burden and they're like, looking at me like what the hell? And she's like, I need it guys. I'm serious. And it's like, well, why did you have them pack it

Berly:

up? Right? That's what I say. I was like, they're probably looking at you like you're crazy because they got a bunch of work. Getting that box. They're getting it packed up like the box is fucking heavy. They have a dolly for it. And you're just gonna burn it and be like, paying me overtime. Right? Why do you have us do all this if you're just gonna burn it? Yeah. Oh, well. Sarah is not in her right mind is she's been through a lot. She's been through a lot. Sam still hasn't given it up. I mean, she's just coming through a lot right now. Okay.

LA:

And she they have to say their goodbyes and you know she's she and Sam and Dean all say goodbye and Sam she's sad Sam left and she's shuts the door and sleeping on the door and not enter the she opens both doors open wide double doors. Yeah, she's just there and Sam just takes her in and gives her a bail kiss.

Berly:

And then Dean's like That's my boy. Yeah.

LA:

I was like, Oh, what a kiss he gets a kiss big deal. But then when we were reading this recap at the end it says that he returns and kisses Sarah and decided to stay in town for a few days so they can be together.

Berly:

So if this line definitely started with a sex scene, I'm going to be really disappointed. Well, I

LA:

think we might be disappointed but probably anyway,

Berly:

I thought this episode was going to start with the sex scene is like no just kidding. Murder.

LA:

Worse yet a lot more than gonna get a lot more than that than sex I think.

Berly:

Yeah, it was. Fuck this society. Like why is it okay that I can see a poor elderly woman's head almost fall off because her throat got slit so deeply, but I can't see some more ass. Yeah, CW Come on. Be Better. Better.

LA:

So that's that was this week's episode. It was nice to see Sam. You know. Getting some lady love. Yeah, I really went all the way but

Berly:

not all the well. Lady attention as far as we know. True. Yeah. And it was it was cute. I liked their little argument. Where Dean's basically like you need to get late. You're cranky and your main and Sam finally just like fine.

LA:

I mean, I'd probably I probably need somebody to do that for me to like, push you push me to do it. You know? Yeah.

Berly:

To move move forward. Yeah, I enjoyed this episode. I thought it was really cute. The glorious thing was the intro I thought the intro was great. I was like, holy shit. Yeah, this is gonna be a good episode. Lots of blood and blood and then the old lady's head. Yeah, those were the two. But yeah, I really I enjoyed this episode. I enjoyed this episode. So next we go into the lore. Yeah, surprisingly, there are several stories of haunted paintings. So I pulled up a few examples. First is the stage craft or the hanging man. This eerie painting is an adaptation of a photograph which was taken by a commercial photographer James Kidd. The photo was taken of the wooden cart, and the figure of a headless man was only found after the picture was developed. With no evidence of it being tampered with. The artist Laura P. was drawn to the photograph and felt she had to paint it. Her oil painting of the photograph was hung in her house causing inexplicable events. She claims that it has been responsible for a mysterious leak, objects being knocked over broken items, and even mysterious knocks on doors. Laura has had many offers to buy the painting however, she fears what will happen in the homes of buyers. Get rid of it, right. It's a painting of a photograph. If the photograph is causing curse things to happen just like render the painting.

LA:

Clearly she hasn't watched any supernatural to know or learn it bitch.

Berly:

You'd know what to do. Laura p. So next we have The Crying Boy. This has been blamed for countless house fires. Oh, Bruno Amedeo completed the painting as part of a series of crying orphans, and published it under the name Giovanni Raglan why? Festival arresting he made many prints of the painting to sell to tourists Following the Second World War. Following its distribution. The painting has been found untouched and many burned down homes. Oh, yes, very creepy. A story began to develop about the boy in the painting. His parents allegedly died in a fire and the orphan boy cursed every home into which he was taken in. So who knows if that's true or not. I don't think the orphan boy has even been identified. But in many cases, people now refuse to have the painting in their home. Yeah, we choose who's coming knocking on your door and being like, Hey, can you can you keep this? Who are you have to go? Check this off my hands. No, get that out of my home. Yeah. So next we have the dead mother. Edvard Munch.

LA:

Like oh, yeah,

Berly:

Edvard Munch. Oh,

LA:

I know that is okay.

Berly:

This is a famous painter known for the screen. Okay, I know the screen. I didn't know the artist, and he is responsible for the dead mother. The painting shows a young girl with her hands at the sides of her face in shock or despair. With her dying mother lying in bed behind her munches childhood saw the death of his mother and two siblings to tuberculosis, which appears to be the inspiration for the painting. Many people claim that they feel uneasy around the painting and that her eyes follow them around the room. They've also said that their sounds of rustling bedsheets echoing near the painting.

LA:

That's the scream has been stolen a couple times. I think,

Berly:

Billy, the original. That's crazy.

LA:

I don't know if they've found it or what? I remember reading that I think it was lower than overseas somewhere and it was stolen. And they were searching for the people that stole it. Like how does that even happen anymore?

Berly:

I don't know. There's still that one museum that got broken into that that crime was never solved to where people wouldn't steal shit, or thieves man. It was a long time ago though. All right, so another quick example, portrait of Samantha Houston. This seemingly sweet painting of a little girl has a dark story behind it. The subject Samantha is said to be the four year old daughter of a senator in Texas. Samantha's father brought his daughter when he stayed at the Driskill hotel in Austin in 1887, where she unfortunately fell down the stairs when playing with her ball. Since then, her ghost is said to haunt the Driscoll where she died. Her painting completed by Richard King was hung in the hotel where she died and has focused the spirits alleged activity. a bouncing ball can often be seen in the hotel lobby, door handles beside the painting rattle, and her expression seems to distort as guests view the painting. Guests have also reported feeling nauseous or a feeling a feeling of like falling around The artwork the tail that seems to most resemblance what we saw in today's episode belongs to the artwork titled The hands resist him. Oh. So this painting was first displayed at the fine Gerton gallery in Beverly Hills, California during the early 1970s. A one man stone ham show at the gallery, which included this piece was reviewed by the art critic at the Los Angeles Times. During the show, the painting was purchased by actor John Marley, most notable for his role as Jack Woltz in The Godfather. Sometime after Marley's death, the painting was found at the site of an old brewery by an elderly Californian couple, as stated in their original eBay listing. The painting appeared on the auction website in February of 2000. According to the seller, the aforementioned couple, the painting carried some form of curse, their eBay description made a series of claims that the painting was haunted. It included that the characters in the painting moved during the night, and that they would sometimes leave the painting and enter the room in which it was being displayed. Also, there was a series of photographs that were included with the painting that said that it was evidence in which the female doll character threatened the male character with a gun that she was holding. And that caused him to attempt to leave the painting like this is a character's this is happening in the painting and there's pictures of it. A disclaimer was included with the listing absolving the seller from all liability if the painting was purchased, like if you buy this and you die, like we're not responsible.

news of the listing spread quickly on the internet. And you know, just from people sharing it and doing whatever some people claimed that simply viewing the photos of the painting made them feel ill or have unpleasant experiences. Eventually, the auction page was viewed over 30,000 times. After an initial bid of $199. The painting eventually received 30 bids and sold for 1025 bucks. The buyer perception gallery in Grand Rapids Michigan, eventually contacted Bill Stoneham, and related the unusual tale of its auction on eBay, and their acquisition of it. He reported being quite surprised by all the stories and strange interpretations of the images in the painting. According to the actual artist, the objects presumed by the eBay sellers to be a gun is actually nothing more than a dry cell battery and a tangle of wires. Stoneham recalls that both the owner of the gallery in which the painting was first displayed, and the art critic who reviewed it died within one year of coming into contact with the painting. So that part's fact, but everything else now. So that's what I could find on haunted paintings. A lot. I was surprised. Yeah, I was. I was surprised. I didn't know this was the thing. All right. So to close it out. We have a quote from Sam. When they run Evelyn's house, Sam said, What kind of house does it have salt? Low sodium freaks. Yeah, cheers. Cheers. Thank you for listening to denim wrapped nightmares.
