Speaker 1:

Oi, this is Sports Pros with your hosts Chris, andrew, rammus, victor and Corey. Enjoy the commentary and all the banter and golden poops.

Speaker 3:

Hello and welcome to Sports Pros Episode 29. And today we have the starting five of things we love about football. Football is back, college football kicks off this weekend, fantasy football drafts are happening and today we're going to do the starting five of what we love about football. I'm excited. Football is here. Victor is pumped. Corey did ample research and preparation. How's everyone doing?

Speaker 2:

I really wish you had left in Corey's what's the topic again, because that was a great way to start it.

Speaker 1:

Maybe on the Southern A's he'll win the championship in fantasy this year.

Speaker 3:

Did he get relegated to the B League of fantasy?

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, oh my God, fantasy football with a foundation would be a waste.

Speaker 3:

That's actually a genius idea. We should do that. That would be amazing, I would love to commission, that league, that would be so funny if we reached out or like, hey, dylan, we need you for this Super League. We got going on in fantasy, all of our we get ret on there too.

Speaker 5:

We intentionally start at the lowest level league. He's going to work his way up like three levels before he even gets to the big league.

Speaker 2:

That would be so funny, because if you get relegated to the Meme the Squidward Meme looking out the window, you know the amazing league Having you would have the relegation league do their fantasy draft like crazy early to make them do it in like July or something before the NFL draft in April.

Speaker 3:

Like right after it's like the weekend after the draft. I also forgot to mention the new Madden. Madden has dropped. Got a new Madden game more football.

Speaker 2:

Like John Madden. Yeah, the video game.

Speaker 3:

They're really good. Yeah, we grew up on. It's really good. It's very realistic Madden football.

Speaker 2:

I must be. I don't know, is that for like the cell phone, or something.

Speaker 3:

No, I think it's on Xbox.

Speaker 5:

Let me see, oh Pretty sure the last one had, drew Brees, is on the cover Been that long. I mean they get a lot of flak, but I mean how much can they actually upgrade a game every year, like the level of expectation?

Speaker 3:

I don't want to speak for everyone, but I feel like we've got a pretty good, extensive list of things EA can do to improve their games.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, just anything, yeah, just just anything.

Speaker 4:

A career mode in general would be good they don't have a career mode anymore.

Speaker 2:

They took it out last year it was just like face of the franchise or whatever.

Speaker 5:

Oh geez, what that? Yeah, I haven't played in like 10 years, so that makes makes sense. Why? I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 3:

That's the last time. It was good, I think it was Madden 15 or 14. The one that had Calvin Johnson on it I was last time yeah, classic.

Speaker 5:

I remember the passing cone, remember the passing cone.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, 2007,. I think that was.

Speaker 5:

That was the dumbest idea ever. You could only throw like a like if you had a terrible quarterback. Your cone was like maybe five yards wide.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, you could not.

Speaker 5:

You could, you had to like physically look at the receiver line up. Yeah, who you were throwing the ball to. They try to make it sax.

Speaker 2:

Just the entire field. Yeah, Peyton.

Speaker 6:

Manning's home. Yeah, our field. You could do a my career and just be a punter or a holder.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that'd be electric. Can you imagine a one time in the season where the coach calls a fake bond, oh my God.

Speaker 3:

Well, should we? Should we just go right into it? Starting five, andrew, you know what I'll pick. No pressure back to back. Starting five, back to back number one overall picks. I mean, some might say that means you've lost the last draft if you're picking first again.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, it's like the 2010 cabs. We can't hear you if you're talking, andrew.

Speaker 3:

And you can't hear you. Let's get a little nervous over there, very great, yeah, you can't hear me. I can hear you now. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 2:

We couldn't hear.

Speaker 5:

So maybe I should change my pick, because I just said something and I should probably go something else. Maybe that was a sign I didn't hear you.

Speaker 3:

I mean exactly. I mean the pick will show if you love football. If you don't love football, we'll know, based off of the pick.

Speaker 5:

Are we going Michael Jordan 1-1? There isn't a clear cut 1-1. This is why I didn't want 1-1.

Speaker 6:

You can go a lot different directions with football season and oh, I'm loving the words, I'm loving what you're saying right now, because there is a 1-1. I just hope you don't pick it.

Speaker 5:

Okay, I think I know what the 1-1 is. If you, if does everyone here, think there's a definitive 1-1?

Speaker 3:

I can I guess there is a 1-1. I got a consensus 1-a-1-b.

Speaker 6:

So yes, listening to Kendrick Perkins, try to talk about better football.

Speaker 3:

That's my 1-1. Yeah, it's not going to be at me at five, so this is you to take Is your draft if you want it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm with it.

Speaker 3:

I'm one of the. I just say Andrew does take the longest to submit his picks.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, if he takes any longer, I think the next person should get to pick. He just gets skipped, just like NFL draft rules.

Speaker 5:

I lose my 1-1. Can you guys hear me? My computer is frozen.

Speaker 3:

I can hear you.

Speaker 2:

I'll start. This is a Jaguar. Is that you at the NFL draft? Guys, my computer is frozen.

Speaker 6:

Andrew should just put Charlie in the chair like a Hella check.

Speaker 3:

We might need to have to replace Andrew with Harry here. Harry is. This is going to make editing a bitch now. Have you left?

Speaker 1:

You got the blue screen.

Speaker 3:

Oh, no, harry.

Speaker 2:

Also guys we should just continue to do it on our end and then have Andrew still give his picks, acting like he was part of it. Just feed it in and he just repeats our picks.

Speaker 6:

Well, he's gone. There is a 1-1, right, very obvious.

Speaker 3:

No, I don't think there's a 1-1.

Speaker 2:

In my opinion there is, but I don't know if everyone shares that same opinion.

Speaker 3:

Well. So, so I had Pan Express. The other day I got the Beijing beef, orange chicken, chow mein fried rice. It was amazing. Then I got the. I got a couple of the you can get the sides of the entree or the smaller portion. I got the Kung Pao chicken, which I did not expect to be as hot as it was.

Speaker 3:

And then the sesame honey chicken Kung Pao was good. It was hot, though it was like caught me by surprise, but it was good. And then I got the sesame chicken, sesame honey, I think it was. That was good. It was just more. It was sweet. I don't really want that much sweet when I'm eating chicken, but it was good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I've heard their honey walnut shrimp is good, but same thing I think it's sweet also for you at shrimp.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, all right for the ninth pick. I'm going to go with.

Speaker 3:

Wait, what did Rama's go for 8?

Speaker 5:

Yeah he can't even what the heck is going on.

Speaker 1:

We invited Harry to take his spot.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, have I already been kicked out. We auto-drafted an undisputed view for 1-1. Yeah, Skip Bayless this year's on the video With Skip Bayless versus the rotating panel. Not even Skip and Shannon.

Speaker 2:

You got videos of Skip Bayless throwing his jersey away in a trash can at 1-1.

Speaker 6:

Brought a little microwave 1-2. Grab it before I do.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Okay, can I go 1-1 now?

Speaker 1:

No, I'm back.

Speaker 5:

Okay, my 1-1 without delay. I'm just going to go get to it. Nfl Red Zone it's my 1-1.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, that's easy.

Speaker 5:

There's nothing like it. It's the only sport you can pretty much do this with is the NFL, and they have invented the greatest sports watching experience that will ever exist. But there's nothing better than the witching hour. You got seven or eight close games down to the wire. Maybe, Bounce them back and forth. It's a pure insanity. It's the pinnacle of football at the highest level, and you're getting the biggest moments at the same time.

Speaker 3:

You're going to show free Seven hours.

Speaker 2:

Exactly. I would never have this opinion. But what do you guys think of the people whose take is that NFL Red Zone is for people who don't actually love the game because it doesn't show you all the rest of the game and you just see the wish? You watched the scoring plays and it's just a bunch of nonsense. I don't agree with this take, but I've seen it.

Speaker 6:

I'd say that's a take for people who just don't have that dog in them.

Speaker 4:

They want the LOL of three and out, three and out, three and out being able to take a little rest.

Speaker 6:

It wouldn't be for me Give me the action every second.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, those are people looking to mosey on through a Sunday where we're locked in 1250 till midnight. Although Red Zone has that thing when it's the last game on TV, they got to cut away and show you the touchdown montage.

Speaker 2:

That's amateur work.

Speaker 3:

Amateur. That is the worst. I guess I understand the licensing around it, but that is the worst. When you're watching that game, we've got to cut away and show you all the touchdowns that you've already seen today.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, right, yeah if like aliens, visit, I'm giving them the Octobock as like our price possession.

Speaker 2:

Oh, they wouldn't be able to handle it. I don't think no, no, that's beyond any technology that the aliens, any aliens, have. That's a fact. There's not an alien, scott Hansen.

Speaker 5:

No, honestly, I believe the NFL Red Zone, the creation of that, is what has taken the popularity of the sport to a whole different level and why it's so marketable across the world, where you can get people in other countries that have no idea who these teams are, these cities, to pay attention. Because of the sports water Yep, because you can't watch that and not be locked in and excited. Yeah, it's just genius, it's perfect, it's awesome.

Speaker 3:

Can't wait, take my money.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I mean, that was my one one, oh.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah. That's what I thought you were going with Corey when you said there is a one one. So I flipped my.

Speaker 3:

Well, we'll review Andrew's 10th pick, see how that goes. Corey number two, number two overall.

Speaker 6:

I'm going to take the brother Andrew's pick Go college game day, being able to wake up on over whenever you want, and you can just rely on college game day being on. What if you?

Speaker 4:

wake up in the new.

Speaker 6:

Football.

Speaker 5:

Okay. So, corey, are we talking about specifically college game day on ESPN with Reese Kirk and Kirk and Lee Yep?

Speaker 3:

We course they're still doing it this year, he coming back.

Speaker 5:

We're going to Corey. It might be his last run.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, they got morbid on that one episode.

Speaker 6:

Is Desmond still on there, because I know that.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, they got rid of the Pollock. Do they still do the? I loved it. Sorry, we're three status.

Speaker 6:

Got to be, are they? Are they bringing Pat McAfee out?

Speaker 5:

That Mac is gonna be on there. Yeah, yep, who's on there? Last year, I think? I don't know it's. All I'm saying, corey, is it's not, it's lost, it's luster for me in the last few years. I feel like Fox noon kickoff is also coming to the picture and you know you have no barstool does their thing. You have these other entities kind Also using the same formula. I'm interested to see if they you know they lost Pollock the bear. He's also gone to Fox, not Ronaldo, he's off course at Fox, he's been there Just how they pivot and can they adapt to the changing landscape. I do like the addition of Stanford, steve. He's going to be the new gambling. I mean, he's got to take over for the bear. I think that's a good. I love Sanford.

Speaker 6:

I don't think the bear like it's the needle for anybody.

Speaker 5:

You know, like the bear he's there.

Speaker 6:

He's there, not going to cry. I didn't cry when he got fired.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I think he got fired. I think he actually took more money to go.

Speaker 6:

Oh really, I thought he got let go that valuable, maybe both.

Speaker 5:

He left for more money. Oh, that's yeah. Fox picked him off, just like they did in all the the dude stuck what three stickers on a board for? One day every seven days? Yeah, yeah, he picks three games and usually gets them wrong.

Speaker 6:

You got to fade. Picked against Florida a lot Maybe. Why just yeah, all right, that's my pick, all right, promise number three, three overall.

Speaker 3:

I think that's the best thing about football.

Speaker 2:

I have a pick. You guys tell me if it's too close to one one. My pick is the week one early game, which an hour is my favorite Part of football season because that's when the whole season's in front of you but you're in the middle of it immediately. So I'm going, if I can, if I may, Early game which an hour, week one. If not, I can go other picks, but I'm just being honest.

Speaker 5:

Just piggybacking off of my big promise.

Speaker 2:

It's not my fault that you picked an entire channel.

Speaker 6:

I picked the grease invention of all time and you picked seven hours out of it.

Speaker 2:

And I'm picking a specific part of that.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's like if a team went into the draft and just yeah, I mean, I took a quarterback at number one and he took A specific quarterback. Right.

Speaker 2:

I don't think that's the same thing. I think you decided that you wanted all quarterbacks and then I said I want Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 5:

I'll hit.

Speaker 2:

You guys make the, you guys make the call. If you need me to pick a different one, I will.

Speaker 1:

No, I'll do.

Speaker 3:

I think it's too much like red zone. Okay, isn't it red zone?

Speaker 2:

It is a part of red zone. Yeah, I thought that would be okay.

Speaker 5:

He's talking week one, which an hour of red zone, right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, what if I pick week two, of which an hour of red zone?

Speaker 2:

If that week is specifically special to you, I think we want to get it. It's the.

Speaker 3:

We're all just going to draft the first one. We're all just going to draft different iterations of the red zone channel For week 17. Red zone.

Speaker 2:

I think that's the worst week red zone, because then that's the end of it.

Speaker 5:

Oh God, exactly, but it's the last chance you get to say goodbye before it's gone.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but then you're sad and then like you're kind of excited for the playoffs but you're sad about red zone. I would never pick 17 as my favorite week.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm going to say no. I'm just going to say no, that's just my vote. Okay, that's fine.

Speaker 5:

But there's three other votes. Ramis, my pick. Thanks for popping that up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, when you pick an entire channel, it makes it easier.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, that's tough, but probably going to say no as well.

Speaker 3:

How does that?

Speaker 2:

All right, then I'm going to go. The moment when, in one of the early weeks of the season, the player catches like three touchdowns in the first half and you run over the app to see who he's playing against fantasy and it's not you. That's one of my favorite feelings. I'm going to go with that.

Speaker 3:

Early in season. You don't know who has who yet. Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 2:

Yes, exactly.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I like it. The flip side, though sometimes that happens to like middle of the pack receiver and he's your bench.

Speaker 2:

Yes, or like someone just picked him off, way bird or something like that.

Speaker 6:

Smells like somebody we know See you One name names.

Speaker 3:

All right Victor, number four.

Speaker 1:

Number four I'm going to go with rivalries.

Speaker 3:

Scoop, scoop it.

Speaker 1:

From college and pro Rivalries in general.

Speaker 5:

And you thought my pick was specific or too general. Yes, not specific enough.

Speaker 1:

One person picking all of football that day.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'd say rivalries are pretty far up there.

Speaker 1:

There's also nothing more fun when you have no skin in the game and watching two different teams just arguing that's your winner. Drunk in the sports bar.

Speaker 3:

All right, well, I'll go Number five overall round out the first round. Top five things about football season. I'm going to go fantasy football One of the best things about football. Got it at five Great value.

Speaker 5:

Rob, this is over there being like I, just I just take the NFL next.

Speaker 2:

We're just picking whatever. Can I select offense?

Speaker 5:

Rob takes a specific thing in fantasy, when a player goes off and he's not, you're not playing against him, and then. And then there is doubles down and just takes the whole damn thing right after.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I give a shot. Is that going to play or no?

Speaker 6:

The retroactively are you going to allow Ramas to keep his?

Speaker 1:

Why.

Speaker 6:

No, you can have everything.

Speaker 2:

You can have every part of fantasy football, except for when a player goes off and he's not playing against me. So you just lost the best part of fantasy football. Congratulations.

Speaker 3:

All right, I guess I'll change. Yeah, I was messy Might be dead, by the way.

Speaker 5:

I told you since 98,. No joke, man FC, since night is legit.

Speaker 6:

No one's going to forget the 2023 Leagues Cup, though that banner will fly forever.

Speaker 3:

All right, I'm going to go number five. I'm going to go tailgating as my number five overall pick for things about the football season.

Speaker 2:

Great pick.

Speaker 1:

Good, good pick.

Speaker 5:

Because to me, football tailgating you could tailgate for other things, obviously, but football tailgating is just a different level. You're in the it's the fall, like the weather is better cool or cold. You warming up with the grill, the fire. This hits different.

Speaker 3:

Yep Number six. I'm going to go playoffs.

Speaker 2:

That's a great pick.

Speaker 3:

Is that going to play?

Speaker 5:

Well, you just took. Well, you just took fancy football and tailgating.

Speaker 3:

No, I didn't take fantasy football Unless you.

Speaker 4:

I thought you guys said no.

Speaker 3:

I mean, yeah, I'll absolutely take fantasy football. It's the best part about football season.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, if you want to take it, that's fine, but then you have to give up playoffs, that's fine, okay. So what's five? Victor, do you want to go take playoffs now, or?

Speaker 1:

I just want to take playoffs now.

Speaker 6:

I think nobody said football yet. Yeah, take now.

Speaker 1:

I guess I'll just take a Super Bowl, most one portion of the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3:

That's a good pick. I like the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2:

I like the Super Bowl. I have a hot take. Can I give a hot take right now?

Speaker 3:

Oh. I think, I know what he's going to say and I agree.

Speaker 6:

That's what the Super Bowl is made A little yeah the Super Bowl kind of sucks honestly Like it's the last season.

Speaker 2:

And if it's a blowout, the Super Bowl is the worst way to end the season. I in my opinion, they should end the season with divisional round and then next season starts with the conference championships and Super Bowl. That's my opinion. I think that's what we should do, because if the Super Bowl sucks, then it's just a terrible end of the season and also the Super Bowl is overrated. That's my take.

Speaker 3:

Yes, yeah, it's barely a football game.

Speaker 5:

Teams aren't, they're like too tight.

Speaker 2:

They like switch out the balls more frequently, so the offenses can't go on. Can't go on as frequently. If there's one injury, then it ruins the game, and if there's one game, then it decides to like every other sports championship. That's the feel this year. Yeah, exactly Every other sports championship is over complicated. It's because they got. They trusted the old guy. He was washed and they let him. They let him and let me. He choked yeah.

Speaker 5:

Well it's they. You literally can't treat it like any other game, because it's not like any other game.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so they try to do something different for it every year.

Speaker 5:

And then they mess it up.

Speaker 2:

They should make the Super Bowl the best of three series?

Speaker 6:

Ooh, that would be intense.

Speaker 2:

Can you imagine if they made a play three back to back days too? Teams were just absolutely destroyed by the end of it. They've got their fourth string off. Even more than that do a double header, oh.

Speaker 6:

Have them kick off two hours after the final of the first game. You know what's crazy. I could see the NFL doing that. They're like, they're like, they're like akhirlyba속n.

Speaker 5:

You know what's crazy.

Speaker 2:

I could see the NFL doing something it would yeah.

Speaker 5:

Damn do. They would definitely consider it, and they just move it to different. So is that's hilarious?

Speaker 6:

I think that could work. Game a week.

Speaker 5:

Even one game every two weeks, I'll agree, though, like last year, college football yeah, that's what we had. We had the worst national championship game ever that's been in it totally yeah, no right, and it totally ruined, like the buildup of the playoffs. And how awesome those two games were, the semifinals and he gets to this moment and then it's just like it's over in a two plays, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So that's Victor. You're taking the most overrated game in the NFL. That's your pick.

Speaker 5:

Let's go around. What do you guys, what would you guys say is the worst Super Bowl? Because I have one that I go to every time that I see. I think of what was the worst Seattle, denver, yep, seattle.

Speaker 3:

Denver. That was the worst Super Bowl, the first play was a safety. Yeah, the worst part about that is I had I had to watch that game with the flu. I'm pretty sure it made even worse Promise. You were there for that right.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I was there and it was terrible. Yeah, it was just silence. Second half we were just silent because there was nothing going on.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I'd probably go with, like Super Bowl 12. That was a pretty boring one. Yeah yeah, super Bowl 20. Yeah, also pretty bright. What do you guys think I?

Speaker 3:

agree. Well, pick number eight. Promise, promise your second round pick of best things about football season. We tune in.

Speaker 1:

We too a fancy football.

Speaker 2:

I was thinking about going just touchdowns, but I'm not going to do that. I'll save that for a later.

Speaker 3:

That's on Red Zone. That's on Red Zone yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to do the first time in the season where the coach is on the hot seat and he announces to the media that he's giving up play calling duties, just an electric.

Speaker 5:

That's when he knows the end of the year.

Speaker 2:

I love that when that happens.

Speaker 5:

Was that Nathaniel Hackett week one last year?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, right, he gave up the timeout. I'm going to get someone else to run the timeout. Yeah, so that's my pick. It's electric every time it happens, because every time the coach thinks that that's going to be the solution, that gets him off the hot seat.

Speaker 3:

All right, Corey, your number nine overall pick. Things you love about football.

Speaker 6:

I'm going to say looking for a path for the playoffs, trying to find a path for the playoffs.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, ESPN playoffs in a later pulled up.

Speaker 6:

Targeting out how to get in the hunt.

Speaker 1:

Yep, yeah.

Speaker 5:

Okay, there you said it, Corey. I was going to give it to you because it's on my list. It's too similar to what you're saying, but the end of the hunt graphic when that starts showing up Like we have a chance.

Speaker 6:

Like all these teams, you're on it Six or 17. Yep, don't count us out.

Speaker 2:

We could be. It's funny last year because the entire next week south was in the hunt because of the how bad the team was the entire.

Speaker 6:

The Bears were in the hunt like week 12.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, All right, andrew. 10 and 11 back to back. Great value here Could decide the draft Right here. This could dictate who wins and who loses.

Speaker 5:

Yep. So, I think this is kind of too specific, but yeah, yeah, I'm not quite on the level of Ramas and Corey, but I'm trying to get more specific. But I always like to take a road trip to a football game every year, try a different stadium, play on the road Different than you haven't been to. So road tripping to a game and I kind of I kind of feed off of that, being the one fan in the section rooting for my team versus everyone else I like that. It's electric.

Speaker 3:

When you win.

Speaker 5:

It is. I don't know what it is. Yeah, it is. It's like that, that intensity of like. You know, as soon as Like, if you're, if, if my team's up the road team's winning right, and then it flips, you know everyone in that section is going to turn on you and you're going to be enemy number one. That is something like that. Feeling is just I chase it, so I try to go to a road game every year. So speaking of that, fortunately last year that's about to ask you about that.

Speaker 3:

I was just about to ask about your last one, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5:

My last one was a not a great experience. That was a, you know, trying to go see Tom Brady, which I'm glad I did because you know he retired, obviously, but staying him in in that form, the Buccaneers just I mean I'm pretty sure this was right after the Panthers traded Christian McCaffrey, yeah, Probably at their lowest point, and Robbie yeah, right, joe's, you don't think it's chosen now, right, did he change his name?

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Anyway, so going to Charlotte sitting there first play of the game Tom Brady hits a wide open. Mike Evans, I don't think there was a defensive back within 30 yards Like he was that wide open and it literally just bounced off his hands. You should have left right there. I've never seen Mike Evans drop a ball like that in his entire career. It was crazy. And from that moment on, they didn't. They didn't score. They didn't score a touchdown, big only got a field goal. It was awful.

Speaker 6:

Can I? Take like a one minute. Can I take a one minute tangent and just say how on earth was Mike Evans' name not mentioned in the Johnny Menzel documentary?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think he had like a clip for us. There was like one clip of him at the like Hall of Fame thing or whatever, but he's not even like he was. The reason that he had that that second season was just throw it up to Mike Evans. That was the whole season.

Speaker 3:

No love Mike Evans, too busy playing football.

Speaker 6:

Thanks, yeah, that was it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, he was in it, though, because he was. You're right, he was on the field with them when he got recognized and ducked in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, ain't him, that's it. I mean, no one, mike, he probably didn't want to be a part of this, like he was. Like you guys, you got to own any name. But anyway, yeah, I just pulled it up. The Bucks did in fact lose that game 21 to three to the Carolina Panthers, and at that point in the season we didn't really know how bad they were. That was. It was the game that was like.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was that in Pittsburgh, back to back with you, two clowns went to Back to where derailed our season.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, that was brutal, because I remember I was there because the Lightning were in Pittsburgh. That's Saturday and Pittsburgh beat the Lightning while I was there and everyone's like just let us have it, just let us have this good game tonight, because you and Tom are going to destroy us tomorrow, you're going to kill us tomorrow, and I heard that so many times. I'm like that's not, that's not a good sign and we got I don't even remember what we scored that game.

Speaker 2:

I think that's.

Speaker 3:

I know they went right down the field and scored with Najiharis.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think the Steelers also didn't have like three of their starting defensive backs for that game. So people, were like, oh, he's going to throw the ball over the field against his defense and I think we threw for like a 10 yard or something like that.

Speaker 5:

Because Pickett got hurt. We only lost by two. It was 20 to 18.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't even, I think we missed the two points in the game or something like that.

Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that sounds right. Well, so pick 11. And so?

Speaker 5:

let's see, I'm going to go with betting the over. Oh, and specifically, I love a good Pac-12 over late night. You're chasing a little bit, you're throwing over on UCLA, oregon State, knowing that you're going to have to stay up for probably the third or fourth quarter because the overs at like 70 to see this thing, yeah.

Speaker 5:

But there's nothing better than hitting over, yeah, and something about like I like that NFL overs, but some college football over, because those things can get crazy at the end of games and you can be 20 points off in the fourth quarter but just have a sequence where you get three touchdowns and like the span of two minutes yeah, just because of how insane things go. But, yeah, betting the over, yeah.

Speaker 6:

There's really nothing better than having the over in the first two possessions, or like one and a half minute touchdown drives.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and you just right on trial immediately.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Because then it's just like there's always that game.

Speaker 6:

It's kind of just like you bet the over, but at like 14 points less or like 10 points less.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, See, that's. That's something I'm trying to learn. I'm trying to teach myself not to tease over unders, like just bet the line, Like don't tease it. Because anytime you tease it, like unless you know, unless there's a matchup, and you're like I know these teams are going to put up, it's going to be like 40 to 42. Like you know they're going to put up points, but yeah, when, sometimes, when you tease it up and you try to take the under I mean there's nothing worse than losing your under in the first half when you were just dead wrong about a game and they just start going off.

Speaker 6:

Easing is like always bet the over. Easing is like when I'm down bad on the week. It's like this will not lose. There's no chance. I adjust the line by 10 points. How does it lose? I need to get one like that. Yeah, just a moral victory, yeah.

Speaker 5:

Yep, or when you got the last leg of your parlay. It's money night football and you got the over and it's just like every other money night game where there's just it's kind of like that that intensity, that tense, you know moment that Rhombus talked about in the Super Bowl, the somebody money night games. I feel like you always get a low scoring, grinded out game, especially if it's like the Giants or the Cowboys or someone. It's like never a high scoring game. Yeah, yeah, Seven and a half.

Speaker 2:

You got Corey. Next, yeah, corey, pig number 12.

Speaker 3:

Get in to round three. Get a nitty gritty.

Speaker 6:

My pick is having an excuse to go to the bar in the morning, but on top of that, having their like going to the bar and like they're being people there, yeah, yeah, ready to go.

Speaker 2:

Great People are there, at like 1130. Yeah, ready to go.

Speaker 3:

Click the pass button. Ready to go? Click the patio. There's Bill's fans there at like 11am Awesome.

Speaker 6:

Buckets are on tables. It's not even noon.

Speaker 3:

Good feeling Everyone's hanging out eating apps. No complaints from me.

Speaker 5:

Rhombus. Or if you go to the bar for the NFL and Europe game. It's like 9am, yeah right, or 4am, it's an excuse to start drinking.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, there's like that Pittsburgh bar and, I think, rome, where they play the games live, and I think they're at 4am or 2 or 3am, they all gather there and drink and watch the game. That's awesome, live in Italy.

Speaker 2:

That's awesome. Yeah, it does. The idea of doing that to watch Kenny Pickett does suck, but it's nice that they did this. I guess that they have that they can watch Kenny Pickett, because I'm not even sure if I'm going to be waking up at noon to watch Baker make a film. Let's see.

Speaker 4:

You're going to watch him bake.

Speaker 2:

Watch him bake. God it's ass.

Speaker 6:

Bake.

Speaker 1:

Alright.

Speaker 2:

Rhombus, pick 13. Yeah, I'm going to go that like when the first like few broadcasts of the season, where one of the channels unveils a new score bug and all of Twitter spends all their time obiscerating the score bug. Sometimes it's week one, sometimes it's for the Super Bowl, but either way it's awesome when everyone hates it and then they get used to it within three weeks of the next season.

Speaker 6:

Just like when they add the wrong fuel goal to one team. Get off in time. Oh, that's a classic too.

Speaker 2:

I was unrelated, but when ESPN's old Monday Night Football one had like the slot machine style thing where it would show all the numbers before it hit the six or the seven was also an electric score bug. Speaking of the new Premier League score thing is terrible. I don't know if you guys have seen it, but it's awful. What is that? The Premier League one it's like? Now it's just the top corner of the screen and it looks like a generic video game kind of thing.

Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah, the background image is like a plus sign, kind of yeah, yeah, yeah, no more takes on this With the NFL's bringing back these throwback uniforms, Like for different teams.

Speaker 5:

What they should do is a throwback week where everyone wears their throwbacks and then they get the old score bugs and bring those back and it's like you're literally watching. Yeah, but no, like. Bring back the old score bugs, the old like graphics that they used. Make it look like you're watching a game from like the mid 90s and the uniforms look like from the mid 90s and the uniforms are wearing or like from the mid 90s. That would be insane.

Speaker 6:

That'd be awesome Olds or animations if they actually be, they could do all this Nickelodeon stuff.

Speaker 5:

They could do that, yeah All right Vic Pick 14.

Speaker 1:

14. I'm going to go with calling the Brails before the game and coming up with a parlay that you are absolutely sure that's going to hit and how high is when. Hey, we're going to. We're just going to hit these three and we're all going to make some money.

Speaker 6:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

And then it loose on the first leg.

Speaker 2:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 2:

First game, first leg, just a yardage over and the player immediately gets injured.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, you're spending your $123,000 on Saturday at seven o'clock at night.

Speaker 3:

All right, so I'm gonna go. Let's see. I got 15 and 16 For 15. I'm gonna go into Going into the football season with no expectations, the best, no pressure, watching some football. That's me going into the buck season this year. Don't really care one way or another, it is what it is. We'll see I.

Speaker 6:

Feels like the definition of a mid pick.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, like that's what was the middle pick of the year? So I.

Speaker 5:

Don't know. I kind of like have you ever been? I think you're either One of two ways going to a season. You're either high expectations when you're anticipating a playoff run right or you're trying to tank like I would be disappointed if the bucks went like six and ten and it up with the Eighth pick in the draft, when they could get Caleb Williams and they could just just win me one or two games. Get the first pick you know like isn't that exactly what you?

Speaker 2:

that's almost the exact record that you guys picked them to have. Right, it's like six wins.

Speaker 5:

Six. That's exactly what Chris is saying like that's why I'm not looking forward to this buck season, because I'm afraid that it's going to be Just an average, mediocre team. Yes, the best, it's not gonna be in the play.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, once you make your peace with that, it makes a lot more fun, though. Yeah, yeah, isn't anything that happens is a surprise.

Speaker 3:

Yep, we win the game. Wow, that was cool. We lose the game, okay, whatever.

Speaker 5:

Like anything's gotta be better than last year, though for the box I mean. Anything has to be better right.

Speaker 3:

Why did we have expectations last year? I?

Speaker 2:

certainly didn't oh.

Speaker 6:

That's probably why like this is just a little bit of a take, but I feel like there hasn't been a fan base that has been in a positive position Than the Detroit Lions fan base. Going into this, that's just like a dead, dead fan base, however many years, so if they suck, I was just where you're saying like if they suck, it's just like we don't care.

Speaker 5:

We're you saying it's it would be a good thing to be a Detroit Lions fan. Yeah, yep, that's exactly what I'm saying Not win a playoff game in like 50 years.

Speaker 6:

I'm just saying like going into this season's Like well, no, I think they're the there's.

Speaker 5:

There's more as nervous as they've ever been.

Speaker 6:

No, I think they're more excited. We was the last time the Lions had this, but they have expectations, they do have expectations, but at the same time is kind of just like we're happy to be here with these. People. We know exactly how to deal with it. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 5:

Okay, yeah, I don't know. I kind of compare it to Kentucky football like last year. I mean we, we awful, yeah, I mean in, you know, as of late we finally having some good teams. You know we won 10 games twice in the last five years, so it's been a definitely a change. But as we've changed, it comes this expectation, like last year I was brave, you know, to be competing for the SEC East. I was that delusional going into last season. I thought we had a top three NFL quarterback, top three jack pick on our team and so I thought we were gonna Just roll through the SEC like top three rounds. You know, did you not? Yeah?

Speaker 3:

top three. Yeah, top three rounds. Yeah, sam Bowie's top three.

Speaker 5:

But like going from being the doormat which, oh you know, every year you kind of get up for football season the game and Usually win the first few games against cupcake teams and then everly Start playing the real teams in the SEC and then lose you know five or six conference games. That's how it was every year. And then now it's like okay, we better go beat South Carolina, we better go beat Florida, we got to take advantage of these opportunities, while we're better Is the pressure zone. So I don't know. I would assume that the Lions are probably thinking the same thing. They're like okay, how how much longer are we gonna be better than the Packers in the Bears and and be right up there and competing for this division like Pressure?

Speaker 3:

you know, I think Lions fan of flying lion fans are pumped. I don't think they're nervous, I think they're just anxious, ready to go. Yeah yeah, matt, patricius not this.

Speaker 6:

I think they're nervous. I think, do you think Kind of like who's more nervous? Kind of like the? It's kind of like Packers, like they're kind of nervous.

Speaker 5:

They know Packers fans have been there. Packers fans to me that the Packers fans are the ones that have no they're, they're fine, we're on this here. They're like all right, we're just gonna see what we got.

Speaker 3:

and would you say they have no Expectations? Are you admiring that they have no expectations?

Speaker 2:

Oh, oh great.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, now I was gonna ask who. Who, what fan base Is coming in with more pressure this year? Is it the jets of the Lions?

Speaker 3:

Definitely the jets, no question jets, for sure they have hard knocks.

Speaker 2:

And they, they don't have a few like two years of air on August the Lions have a good like how long is Jared golf?

Speaker 5:

They don't you, jared.

Speaker 2:

Golf is a non asset like he's fine.

Speaker 6:

The same value for the Lions as Aaron Rodgers does for the jets.

Speaker 5:

No, no, I know, I think Jared golf has a about the same window as Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but the Lions don't care if they get with. Jared golf leaves like they, that's a Quarterback that they can replace. The jets have been trying to find a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 5:

Third, yeah, Jared, but the Lions have never had a quarterback like. I mean, they had staffer but they had nothing around them. Now they actually have a team around.

Speaker 2:

Yeah which means that they don't need their Jared Golf like the Lions would be fine if they had Any Jared golf level quarterback. So even if next season they come in, they have a different. I said Jared golf level, don't you dare.

Speaker 5:

Okay, all right, all right, I guess I'm a little different. I think the Lions finally have pressure and that's why they're going to the season a little tense. I mean, you're playing the Chiefs week one Like you could. You could roll into that arrowhead and lose by 40 and then your whole season looks different. Yeah, but it's the.

Speaker 3:

Chiefs, though I think the Lions are like last year.

Speaker 5:

Make a break here by 21, but they blew it.

Speaker 1:

I don't know.

Speaker 5:

Of course you got another pick. I agree the jets have more pressure, but I'm just saying the Lions box ticking.

Speaker 1:

I mean.

Speaker 5:

You think Dan Campbell's really gonna get this thing built up and Rolling for a few years. I think this is a window they're trying to hit.

Speaker 3:

I got time. They're improving. Yeah, get rid of Jared golf, the week will be good.

Speaker 5:

The guy actually is decent.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

Number 16. Things are looking about football. I'm gonna go bad weather games. You got a snow game, the super windy, icy game, and Buffalo was it two years ago. Great big, great big. Well, nothing, nothing like a bad weather game, unless you're there and you get a rain delay or lightning delay, and you're there for six hours and they lose to the Rams anyway. That sucks, yeah right, but watching it on TV is cool.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, weather delays suck, but that weather games awesome, that something, always something crazy always happens a bad weather game? Yeah, we last year week one you had the, the Bears beat the 49ers and a monsoon, all right. So if you guys had to pick what is your bad weather game, you would go. Would you pick snow? Would you pick snow, rain, snow, no, all day it's no, all day.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah, I feel like they would both be miserable, but the visual of a game is better than.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, what's the coldest game you guys have been to? You guys been to a cold game.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I went to a Titans at Pittsburgh Two years ago. Yeah, I was just walking up the stairs to go to the bathroom and any old woman Just told me to go fuck myself while I was walking up the stairs. Nice.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, you deserve it, though Go to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3:

No, I didn't. That's the thing I didn't. All I did was I was literally walking up the stairs to the bathroom, away from my section, walking straight up. I think my head was down and I had a Chris Johnson jersey on. There you go.

Speaker 6:

And it sounds like she had that dog and you didn't have that dog in you.

Speaker 3:

As a Titans fan, I definitely did not have that dog in me. I could not care less about what happened in that game, it's just, I was so cold.

Speaker 5:

So what was the temperature? You didn't.

Speaker 3:

Uh, it was like 25 or 30. I think it was. It wasn't anything crazy, but it was like it was called cold and windy. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5:

That was last year. We played Georgia and it was like 25 30 degrees and I remember it's gross. Emily was dying, emily want to go bad, go leave so bad and I would. We Georgia was at the gold line and I was like, okay, georgia scores here, it's a two touchdown game. Oh, we can go and Gold line stand. We stopped them the rest of the game.

Speaker 3:

I bet she was so pissed.

Speaker 5:

He was so upset. Yeah, I that's. When I looked at, I watched that Georgia team, I was like that doesn't Good. National championship team is probably the worst game they played all year. But yeah, we stopped them on a gold line stand and went 99 yards and got a field goal.

Speaker 5:

I was like we're in it, we can do this, yeah, and I went into the first year I was in Nashville, went to a Titans game. They were playing the Jags, like Bortles was Marriota, I remember, you tell me, and they had to win to get into the playoffs and it was like five degrees, yeah, so cold. I Lasted like one quarter and then I just went down to like the Club level, the inside part, where everyone was just huddled. They didn't even care, everyone was just in there. I just sat there and watched Red Zone on the big screen at the bar. It's awesome, yeah, cool with the games. I mean I haven't been to a snow game yet, but they're, he got to be prepared for that. I don't know how they do it up in Buffalo and Green Bay, like they're just built different.

Speaker 6:

Oggs, that was a good pick, yep.

Speaker 3:

It brings it up to Victor pick 17.

Speaker 1:

Good pick.

Speaker 6:

Come on, vic.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna go with postgame reactions.

Speaker 6:

That mean.

Speaker 2:

Like interviews. Is that like?

Speaker 5:

social media. Is it the players, the coaches?

Speaker 3:

No, no one. Vic are first starting five. He's acting the game with the Twitter memes. The best part of what was the what was the start? Yeah, that's feeling does a sports.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, that's what I think sports means.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

That was an awesome one, one that was fun.

Speaker 5:

So, vic, what is this pick specifically?

Speaker 6:

No, it's like.

Speaker 1:

It's like like the Monday when you go out to go into work and you talk hey, you see the game last night and we're just like that Good pick, I like that, I'll off the press and it all takes.

Speaker 6:

Watercooler talk.

Speaker 3:

The overreactions from an original fan.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I said could never be books. I'm not sure, I'm not sure, yeah.

Speaker 6:

I said could never be books one, and oh Like that.

Speaker 2:

You're gonna? What do you mean? One, and oh, like they have a win and no losses.

Speaker 6:

Gonna beat the Be the Vikings, vikings, yeah, what happened One? P, I'll cross you can see a Kyle. Trask 395 for touchdowns.

Speaker 3:

Cory, I can barely hear you.

Speaker 6:

Kyle Trask 395 for touchdowns, one interceptions.

Speaker 2:

You see it? Oh, he is done. Interception in this fantasy still.

Speaker 6:

Gotta be realistic, you know.

Speaker 3:

All right, Romes 18.

Speaker 2:

I'm gonna go the and this is of no offense to anybody but the the first time you hear the Fox Team, but like the injury version where they play like the smooth jazz version. That's what you know. Football.

Speaker 3:

I don't know you're talking about.

Speaker 2:

Like they play like the slower, it's like the subtle when they played to be respectful.

Speaker 6:

Romes is praying for that first Fox it's electric when it happened.

Speaker 5:

I Romes was bummed that the DeMar Hamlet didn't happen on Fox, it was on.

Speaker 6:

And my next pick is gonna be when the stretcher comes out.

Speaker 1:

When Joe Buck has to fill for two hours.

Speaker 2:

What Tony Romo assumes. It's a cramp when Jack.

Speaker 6:

Gotta hope it's just a cramp. Yeah, that's. His foot is to the side right. Fox the smooth jazz version.

Speaker 5:

Did we, do we have consensus on? Fox has the best theme.

Speaker 2:

I'd say so, nbc, nbc. Sunday night is close for me, but I'd say Fox, one one yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but we're up to you guys, don't really?

Speaker 5:

like the money night football.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's too old, like I feel like it needs an update or something. It's too Old school.

Speaker 3:

I'm too far from it. I can't even picture it in my head. It's been too long since I watched football.

Speaker 5:

What oh damn.

Speaker 2:

We got. We've asked Corey to me.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, corey, at 19.

Speaker 6:

I'm gonna go with the Sports Center top 10 being back, not not having to see double plays for seven of the ten.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, just like the casual ground out. Yeah.

Speaker 6:

Actually having some good plays on the sports up ten Yep, yep.

Speaker 3:

Yep, no concerns there, and we got a injured.

Speaker 2:

That's what I do now.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, let's see Too much way he's gonna zig. Maybe we'll respond accordingly. We'll see.

Speaker 5:

So I really surprised this. It hasn't been picked me to get this with my last round of picks here. Thanksgiving like. How does no one said Thanksgiving like Thanksgiving football?

Speaker 3:

Well, you haven't said it yet either, until now.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I Thanksgiving football and the like. Just imagine Thanksgiving without the football games Like yours. You have to day family. Yeah, family and food. Yeah but you're missing the key element everybody surrounded the the TV to watch football game, to watch the Cowboys Bears. The Cowboys blow a leader. Yeah, the Lions somehow lose, care gone, are supposed to win, yeah.

Speaker 6:

It really is like Different when the the Thanksgiving teams are good.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I feel like it's always the NFC.

Speaker 6:

East. That needs to be good.

Speaker 5:

It's always the same teams, yeah Well, yeah, I mean the Lions Cowboys and then the night game now. I like the night game. Ever since they add that. That's been huge, because what always happened is you got you either eight lunch you either eat like Thanksgiving lunch or Thanksgiving dinner but you had nothing for dessert, like you had nothing after you're finished eating, and now you do. You have that that late game was perfect.

Speaker 3:

I actually think the late game is the worst of the three. What yeah, you know, you guys don't feel that way. I.

Speaker 5:

Like no, because it's usually like a good game. They like put a premier matchup. I Like the vibes of the first, like Steelers, ravens or something.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, first game.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, early game is my favorite too. It's like the pre dinner one. I.

Speaker 6:

Feel like the vibes are good, because the Lions game, games on Everybody's like kind of hanging around dinner still being cooked.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's like right now Just me doing watching the game, you guys stop to talk about.

Speaker 6:

That's why the first game is the best.

Speaker 2:

We have nothing else to talk about.

Speaker 3:

Now, it's a good pick. I had that written down. I was Thinking about maybe picking that at 25, but I will not do that now.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, miami just tied up in the 98th Did they really, are you serious? They're plot. Armor is a thing. It's ridiculous. It did, it did. It's 98, 30 right now With eight minutes of eight minutes of stoppage.

Speaker 5:

Oh, Same dudes or capanya. He's good crazy.

Speaker 6:

All right.

Speaker 5:

Sorry, sorry. Maybe those tickets were worth $300. Messy man, he's just unreal to go trick.

Speaker 6:

Incredible. But uh, yeah, thanksgiving that's a good sleep. Yeah, so pick 21.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, this is me final, my final pick, right? Yep, let's see, I'm gonna go with like a banter pick. I'm gonna go with the memes of cowboy fans losing, skip Bayless Throwing the his jersey in the trash, like when we still love it. When the Cowboys have, have high expectations or they're supposed to be a big favorite, another inevitably get all their fan fans hopes up and Then they come crashing down and you have the aftermath.

Speaker 3:

Like that thing online. That's like just checking to see if we still didn't boys, and it's all the quarterbacks that it. That's a good one. They just adding it to it every week.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I will say specifically Cowboys memes because, like other fan bases have wavered, but the Cowboys have been consistently yeah delusional.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, even more so than New England. Honestly, it's just, it's just funny, no.

Speaker 5:

Yeah no, that's a good point. Like I've been disappointed with how New England fans have reacted to being bad again, like it's they don't care, it's the apathy like they're like, oh, whatever, mac Jones, he's not the guy who cares. Oh yeah, you know, like it was nice to see them put all of that that fandom into the Boston Celtics and see them collapse in the bruins seven. That was where in the Bruins, in the Bruins. Yeah, bruins went out early, though they at least the Celtics gave them some time to build it up.

Speaker 3:

Well, the Bruins couldn't have no because they had an historic season, one of the best ever, so they must have had a really deep run to have all of those wins.

Speaker 5:

Oh was that the yeah, yeah, that was the Easter Conference finals. They lost to Florida right.

Speaker 3:

Wait, no, I must have been. That's weird. No, because they were up three to one. Right, there were up. Yeah, so Florida. Yeah, bruins, one and five. Yeah, good day, they must have beat Toronto. But Toronto played, wait, toronto played Florida, that's weird.

Speaker 6:

Oh the no, the Bruins. The Bruins won the cup right. They won a cup right, some type of cup. I Don't even know if they won that. Want a game at least that's so crazy.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I don't know. I mean, this is gonna be like, like legit. Let's have a serious discussion. If the paths let's say the paths are awful, like what? If the paths win like four or five games this year, is Bill Belichick Legitimately on the hot seat?

Speaker 6:

I Think they're gonna make them step down more than.

Speaker 2:

It would just. Yeah, I think he might just retire. Yeah, I don't think he'd ever be on the hot seat. I think he would probably just retire.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, which you just hate to see that fan, that that organization crumble like that.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, but they suck, they have like no direction. They're just sitting there in the hard division.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, they don't have a cupcake you want to back.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, just kind of Kind of just there. Maybe they'll tank for Caleb, oh my gosh, don't even say it.

Speaker 5:

Don't even say Imagine. That would be the worst.

Speaker 3:

Andrew, did you give your 21? Pick?

Speaker 5:

yes at cowboy memes, whether they lose cowboy fans.

Speaker 3:

All right, cory, pick number 22.

Speaker 6:

I'm gonna, I'm just gonna go snacks. Gonna go snacks, being able to have an excuse to order a pizza. Yeah, pizza wings.

Speaker 5:

Beer did you say like game day food, or are you saying snacks? Yeah, same thing.

Speaker 6:

Yep, okay, the whole cat food, my picks food Eat on the weekend.

Speaker 3:

Little bubble no one take game day drinks.

Speaker 5:

That's gonna be my pick.

Speaker 6:

I'm gonna pick bread or round pot football enhancer I.

Speaker 5:

Will say Cory. I will say this football season is perfect timing. We put on a couple, a couple pounds, you know, because you're transitioning to the winter, so you could start wearing the baggy, butchers and clothing and you can it's okay to pack anything whenever you want.

Speaker 6:

Yep, yeah.

Speaker 5:

Calories diet. Starting football season Okay season? Absolutely not Okay.

Speaker 2:

you work it off anyway because you're watching the games and you're you're stressing about fans, equal point stuff, so you work it off. It's a calorie, it's just cancel up. What if Ron is?

Speaker 3:

what if? What if you're going to the season with no expectations, are you? Is that good point? Gonna be difficult to get that caloric deficit, or is you know? Yeah, what happens there?

Speaker 6:

Mmm, not very taxing on the brain, I'll say that, but I thank you for silence, I agree silence of speaking volumes right now.

Speaker 2:

I didn't actually, I didn't actually hear. The question was question.

Speaker 3:

I Was asking. You mentioned when you're eating the food. You're, you can work it off by. You know the process of watching it. But what if? What if you're going into the season with not much expectations and you're just kind of a casual Watching is more bulking or, yeah, exactly that.

Speaker 2:

You build it, you're setting up for the future, right, because the You're bulking more and then you cut when the team is good again. Yeah, bucks were bulking, we were bulking as bucks, and for 20 years, and then we have like a three-year cut.

Speaker 6:

We're shredded right now.

Speaker 3:

Just on that bulk.

Speaker 6:

Is it my, my turn?

Speaker 5:

what a spin zone you know I got about. About the books, though, I gotta say this I don't know if you guys I've probably picked up on it more because I've been outside of Tampa, but I see more buck stuff, like the last I'm talking about. The last couple years I've seen more bucks apparel than I've ever seen before and Nine times out of ten I'll go up to that person and be like hey, you from Tampa, and they're like no, like what. This is so weird. How many of those people are like dropping off, like this season? I bet you, this is the season where they're like I'm out, I'm not doing this bucks fandom anymore.

Speaker 3:

All right, Romes with 23.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm shocked this hasn't gone yet. We, even though we joked about it, I'm going super wild card weekend, the greatest Fort weekend, because there's like what Is it? Six games, eight games. It's not a game. So it's literally all day Saturday, all day Sunday, and then the Monday night game too. I think that's my favorite week of the playoffs. I'm not going full playoffs because, again, the playoffs include the most overrated game in sports, but specifically, super wild card weekend is my cook.

Speaker 3:

To go pick. Nobody picked the play so you mentioned Romes in a previous episode. I just want to clarify which which wild card weekend we're talking about, because you mentioned the bucks played in a pooper. Wild card weekend, yes, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's why that's what we talk about Super okay super yeah, yeah, not poop.

Speaker 6:

Guys, miami just scored again.

Speaker 3:

They really. Are you serious MLS rigged?

Speaker 6:

So it's over? Oh, I think they went into over.

Speaker 3:

You talked about the game or Ronaldo's career.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god.

Speaker 5:

It says they just really blow a two-nothing lead.

Speaker 3:

It's not win Sinati.

Speaker 6:

Like put it in the bin Sinati.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god classic, I'm sure we're cooked.

Speaker 3:

Oh, I'm more picks. Pick 24 we got two more picks left and this amazing starting five we got going.

Speaker 6:

I cooked y'all in this draft. By the way, we'll see.

Speaker 3:

See what listeners say. See what Harry says.

Speaker 6:

That's the only opinion I really care about.

Speaker 1:

I. Did anyone pick the weather? Yep no.

Speaker 6:

Good weather, bad weather good weather games 74 games I Did bad weather my last pick, no, I'm gonna say the overall weather.

Speaker 1:

Football season to fall. Everything starts to cool down like the season. Yeah, yeah, yep, especially in Florida, when, when the fall comes in summer and then you get out I'm so over summer I would slander that pick.

Speaker 6:

But being able to watch football at night with the windows open, the best, oh hits.

Speaker 5:

Dude guys, I almost finished my back porch. During the back porch, all gotta do is put down the carpet or the furniture. I'm gonna put a TV out there. Oh you watching Football smoking a cigar on my back screen in porch. Is it gonna be ready for Florida, kentucky? Wait, it's gonna be ready, man, it's gonna be ready, guys. You guys gotta come up, are?

Speaker 6:

we doing that, so are we doing that. I'll go.

Speaker 5:

Florida, kentucky, man, I'll go. Book a flight, let's go, let's go. Charlie gonna be there. I'll get tickets. Charlie will be here, I'm there.

Speaker 6:

What a what oh my gosh.

Speaker 5:

What? Uh, it's the last weekend in in September, september 30th.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, September 30th. No, what would you want us to like? Fly up I.

Speaker 5:

Think a legion is Thursdays and Sundays, so it should be perfect. You fly up on Thursday, friday and Saturday and fly back Sunday fly back to those NFL football. Okay, or you can take a different flight back if you want to fly something other than a legion. I Don't, they might have changed it. Honestly, I don't know.

Speaker 3:

We can check and see, victor. I'll know if you're interested. If we want to, we could find like a feasible flight plan. Yeah, we can all just hop on the same flight. I think I gotta get my sec gear. I'm just gonna wear a bunch of sec stuff, just root for the southeastern conference.

Speaker 6:

Legion goes. Thank Pete to.

Speaker 5:

Lexington or.

Speaker 6:

Lexington, or what.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, or if you need to fly into Cincinnati or Louisville, come get you. Just let me know, that's easier oh.

Speaker 1:

Hey Chris, I just saw I think, oh wait, this is just one way. One way Tampa to Kentucky, louisville $89, but it's a little, yes like it's 12 hours.

Speaker 3:

Oh, so yeah, no, no, you could drive it in that. What layovers.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, what the heck 12 hours, oh what the layover.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so layover somewhere. Cheers, it's a 12-hour layover.

Speaker 5:

Who the hell would do that.

Speaker 1:

It's 12 hour layer for $89. Otherwise that can tend. There's Two stops, six hours 190.

Speaker 6:

Wait, so we have one more pick right.

Speaker 3:

So we just yeah, I got my mr Relevant pick. I'm gonna go making signs and or props to bring the games.

Speaker 6:

Those are Pick six signs was.

Speaker 2:

I don't even know I was more credible I Also.

Speaker 6:

That's kind of like 75% of college game day.

Speaker 5:

That's college game day, so yeah, yeah, we didn't bring that up forward, but that's a huge part of college. Game day is the signs. That's where they're still elite. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Well, I think that rounds up our worst starting five Thus far. That's just hard to do.

Speaker 5:

I've got some nostalgic picks Y'all are interested Stuff that used to be my favorite things about football, but we don't have any more. Yeah, jacked up. Yeah, remember Jack talked about that Monday Night Countdown. Yeah, come on man. That was awesome. Well, now you're replacing with Come On man, but that's not anywhere close. Jacked up was the best I had.

Speaker 3:

NFL plus 99. Nfl plus 99.

Speaker 5:

NFL Blitz yeah.

Speaker 3:

You guys remember it.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, because I just remember Blitz, where if somebody got injured it was either you juice them up or you treat them. Yeah, that was like the mature Blitz game no. I don't remember that If you juice them up they would be out for a quarter If you treated them, they'd be out for like four weeks.

Speaker 3:

Is that the arcade game or the mature?

Speaker 6:

version. I think the honorable mention was going to be just NFL Twitter or being back.

Speaker 5:

Did you guys ever watch Inside the NFL on HBO? No, they still do it, but it's nothing like it used to be. It used to be my favorite show. This is like when sports center and ESPN were always at their peak, because you didn't have highlights, you didn't have social media, so you had to like watch programming to get the highlights than just go to YouTube or Cclips somewhere. And they did the like. The NFL films, breakdown of every game the week after. See you watch the, the players mic'd up and the highlights of the game and everything it was. It was awesome. That's just stuff we don't get anymore because all ESPN is now it's just hot takes debate shows yeah, espn sucks now.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, well, it sucks, is like even like I know, Corey was mentioned in the sports center top 10 but, like you watch top 10, the anchors don't know what it is. They did they picked these random plays so, like their analysis of the Play call, it's nothing like it used to be, with they're just reading a script with there's no analysis. Yeah, they're just reading this, like there there's no intensity or excitement or highlights, they're just showing clips.

Speaker 6:

Time to make ESPN great again. What's that? We're trying to make ESPN great again, or no?

Speaker 5:

I Think it's, I think that ship is sailing, I think. And then everybody's kind of like it's. Yeah, they know that there's no one wants to get no one's tuning in for the scores or the highlights. Now Everyone has that already. So, yeah, that's fair. It's nothing but commentary. What I missed, you guys? They used to do a show with Meryl Hodge and Dorsky on Sunday mornings. It was like called Sunday film or something like that.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5:

You know I'm talking about where they break down the game tape. Yeah, that's the kind of stuff like Orlowski does it sometimes. They sometimes do it on get up or little kind of show play Diagram, but they don't do enough of that and I don't understand why. Like no one wants to sit there and watch Even a just rant for four hours.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, that's all they did. That's why I, that's why I follow Baldinger on Twitter. Is he post videos of like call 22s?

Speaker 5:

Yeah, that's. What's crazy is like people, guys, are just doing this on the Twitter, where they just Show a play and they just talk over it. Right, explain what the breakdown is Like. How simple is that. I don't know why they just don't do that on TV, right?

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I'm so pumped for football season.

Speaker 5:

But yeah, I'll send you guys pictures when my whole porch is done. But I just returned the scaffolding today, so I'm done with the outside now. It's just getting the inside looking good. Well, girl, come up If you guys want to come up for that Florida game. Yeah, I'll take a look at flights. Why up here? I know it sucks, it's not, it's misses Keeneland by one weekend. So we have two home games for Keeneland, missouri and Tennessee their home football games and Keeneland weekends, but the Florida game. And always got her season tickets in the student section because it's like 50 bucks for the season and I just pay For an extra ticket which is usually like for the Bay games. It's like 70 or 80 bucks but you get to be in the end zone with the students, so it's a good seats.

Speaker 3:

At least are there any Gator fans in that section.

Speaker 5:

There were a few. Last time we played Florida Okay, because that was when we that was dude. The last time we played Florida's, when we blocked that field goal and then it back for a touchdown, that was. That was awesome.

Speaker 6:

I'm excited about a Devon Leary, though I think he's gonna be really good.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, that's another. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up about this guy, that what, what they are saying about him and that him in this system is good, it'll be good. Yeah, yeah, I'm. I'm excited and, say the least, I think I Mean really. Our season comes down to that Florida game. It does every year, but that Florida game is gonna be huge. Yeah, there is what's up, harry.

Speaker 4:

What are we talking about today?

Speaker 6:

All right, guys. That's it for me. I'm about to get off. Thanks for coming out.

Speaker 4:

For you I.

Speaker 6:

Like that. Um, I like that how I met your mother. Picture you sit in the group earlier.

Speaker 4:

Hey, that's, uh, you know that guy, that guy from the FSU guy. I just found that he was talking about the that Gator Netflix show. I haven't watched it yet. I kind of want to watch it from start to finish. How many episodes is it?

Speaker 6:

Or.

Speaker 4:

I'll probably just knock that out one. You know, one day on the weekend I've got so many other shows that I'm trying to get caught up on.

Speaker 3:

Gotta get caught up on you watching you know, which shows you got to catch up on Money that raw money, that raw man, oh Yep, let me night raw AEW. Is Eugene's owner.

Speaker 6:

Harry's AEW. Better than Monday night raw now.

Speaker 4:

It's given, it's given Monday night raw and WWE a month or run for its money. The problem with the problem with WWE right now is you've got Roman Reigns who doesn't do jack shit.

Speaker 6:

He had leukemia.

Speaker 4:

Harry George's I never break him defense of title, and when he does, he gets outside help.

Speaker 3:

We need to bring on the other Harry to talk WWE.

Speaker 6:

Oh yeah, Was there anybody? Else so was there anybody else besides Dean Ambrose that left go to AEW Of like that caliber?

Speaker 4:

well, you got Chris. Jericho is there.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, and like who's the other guy who? I think punk, yeah, punk, right, punk is there. Punk, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

What was the guy? The guy that went on pardon my take, I think it was earlier this year. He was like mid-20s. He's kind of an asshole like douchebag the whole time. We didn't really what was his name. Oh yeah, I remember was he. He was anyway in WWE. I want to see.

Speaker 6:

Harry, who's the bad boy? Yeah, he W young guy. Who's the?

Speaker 4:

I tell you what the best. The best guy on AEW, though, is their champ.

Speaker 6:

Who's that?

Speaker 4:

MJF. The guy is freaking hilarious. He is hilarious, he is the best talker he can out oh Shit, anybody. He can dance, he can sing. He is freaking hilarious man. So now they have a him team. That was Adam Cole, and it is just of the bromance, of all bromance. You know, it's not only when they're in the ring, they do their little skits when they're in restaurants and stuff the double clothes line. It's freaking hilarious man. So, uh, I don't know man, I here's what I call, here's what I call roughly. I call it mindless entertainment. Okay, because you really don't care, it's not fake, you're not mostly involved.

Speaker 4:

You're just, you know it's gonna be entertaining because it's all scripted, but man, these guys beat the crap out of each other, man, you know, you know, jump, jump ten feet in the air and then land on straight on your back, on on anything. See how it feels, you know.

Speaker 6:

Harry, I was, uh, I was in Raleigh this past week. I saw the. I saw the Hardy twins. They're Hardy brothers.

Speaker 4:

That's right. They're in the AEW too, they're. They're old though.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, they didn't look great.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, the one guy, the one, the one guy, the skinny guy, he's, he's, he was like kicked out of so many wrestling center is that he was always, you know, drunk or stone. And the other one, just, he just looks like, you know, some guy came out of the crowd. But I tell you what's been really impressive with with the wrestling of the women. These women are beef. That. Rhea Ripley, she is like the new China man, she is just what do you think about Rhea Ripley I? Think she's awesome.

Speaker 6:

I think she's so far up. She's so far ahead of she wall on her way to being the goat.

Speaker 3:

She, she is, she's gonna she's she's not really put that title on.

Speaker 4:

I you gotta give up to China, china's, china's, those the female goat, but she's getting there.

Speaker 6:

China, china, china. Yeah, absolutely, I didn't know that you were such a wrestling fan.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna be honest you know it's only been like the last year or two that I just got. I got back into it. I guess you know I Started watching it again during COVID, but you know I just couldn't watch it how do you watch it?

Speaker 4:

I couldn't watch in the arena. So what? Once? Once the crowds came back and then I started. I got into wrestling too when I Went. When, when a W started night was like you know, they're not like alright WWE, they need that confidence. It makes them better when they have competition. I don't remember when, but I remember WCW and WWE man when they went out of, totally tell them that early 90s, that was the best that you know. Oh, same as another one that's an AEW. That guy's been around forever, chris, I'll.

Speaker 6:

Jeff.

Speaker 4:

Jarrett. You know he was a WCW then with WWE, now he's an AEW, so you know.

Speaker 6:

Sounds like the Saudi League of.

Speaker 4:

There's rumors that one of the brothers, juso J-Sup, is. There's a rumor that he that he left WWE and he's going to AEW. So thanks to for that.

Speaker 3:

Could someone explain to me in a couple sentences what the difference of AEW and whatever the other one is?

Speaker 4:

It's basically, you like the Premier League versus the French League, it's just, it's two.

Speaker 3:

Oh which ones. The Premier League.

Speaker 4:

WWE. They're, they've been, the top wrestling federation. You know it's. Hulk Hogan was around in the 80s and they had Andre the Giant.

Speaker 3:

WCW Big show.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, that's so. Vince McMahon bought up all these regional ones and then consolidated to form WWE. That's what took off. Have you guys seen? So there's this new Netflix show that's dropping a couple weeks, called wrestlers.

Speaker 5:

Oh, I heard about that and it's the director of Last Chance. You is doing a Documentary about OVW, which is Ohio Valley wrestling, and it's like a lower level. So it's kind of like soccer where they have qualifying league levels. Yeah, like these people start at these lower level, smaller wrestling organizations and as they move up, get noticed and become popular, they jump up to like AEW or kind of think of it as a hockey minor league, you know yeah yeah, so they followed them around.

Speaker 5:

This was last summer, chris, remember. When I texted you. I was like, hey, man, if you want to be on a Netflix show, they're filming this, this documentary about this wrestling thing it's. And they came to Nashville. I was like, if you really? I remember I was talking about it. Yeah, I went to one of their taping so I the final episode is about like they had like this big show matched at the end. So I'm there. It's a small arena because this thing's like in a warehouse, but they just dropped the trailer for it. You should check it out. It's called a wrestlers. It's gonna be on Netflix September 13, but it's. It's gonna be really awesome. It's cool. The same guy that owns KSR bought Ohio Valley wrestling and so the guy that did Last Chance you is the director that did this show.

Speaker 4:

Did you guys watch the documentary? You can't kill. What is it? Our cat, chris, our cat. Is that his name? The actor, what was the name of the girl? The girl that he was in scream and he married the girl from friends?

Speaker 5:

Patricia, our cat as an actress.

Speaker 4:

Her brother he was. He was the sheriff in the screen movies. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah so he, he went to one of these low-level wrestling things and just we're talking about the ones where they take the light bulbs and you smash them over and you know, and you're all. We're talking hardcore.

Speaker 4:

So there's a documentary on him on that and, like, the guy, took the pole you know that the, the metal part, part of the of those long tube life poles and put in his neck and he was bleeding out. And and what's named the guy? The guy that was a 9-1-2-5?, the one that recently died, I can't think of his name. He was. He's friends with our, our cat, and he's in that documentary and his son is in AEW, the Tarzan guy.

Speaker 5:

It's David, our David, our kid, that's it. Yeah, I know I do isn't wrestling.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's a documentary. I don't know where you can find it, probably on. You know I'd be on HBO or stars or something like that. Then Pretty entertaining stuff. Oh Well, then I'm looking up that Netflix has dropped some bangers lately.

Speaker 3:

Yeah yeah, Netflix is back.

Speaker 5:

Well, dude, they don't. The writer strike right now, they're gonna be. It's gonna be all documentaries for a while.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I have any. Like Harry, who was a 9-1-2-5, his son is a wrestler named Jack Perry on AEW. Oh, so Luke Perry's a big wrestling fan and he's friends with our, our cat, and he's in that documentary and he's you know, he has Been around wrestling a lot. His son is a professional wrestler. Who who went he'll?

Speaker 5:

oh, jungle, boy yeah he went heel.

Speaker 4:

He was a good boy. Yeah, he went heel recently. So they don't. They don't play that jungle boy music.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, chris, you should go, go with Harry to a wrestling match. Man they're. They're pretty entertaining, like.

Speaker 4:

You're gonna be entertained.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Because some crazy is gonna happen, you know you don't have to worry about a zero, zero game where you know a game where there's, you know it's all scripted, which is fine. That's what makes it entertaining.

Speaker 3:

Just like sports, just like the MLS.

Speaker 4:

Oh, miami, no I.

Speaker 6:

Miami one. It's three to three right now.

Speaker 4:

Is Emily's back in the regular season now that that tournament's over.

Speaker 6:

No, it's the US Open Cup, oh.

Speaker 3:

Oh, so my finals.

Speaker 4:

That's on Apple TV as well.

Speaker 6:

It's on CBS Sports.

Speaker 4:

Oh really, I'll check out the replay for the highlights.

Speaker 6:

Still going on, if you want to watch.

Speaker 4:

We're doing this, man.

Speaker 3:

Harry, when we gonna watch some football, jax. Yeah, we do that have a proper pint, proper pine made some buttons.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, are you concerned about arsenal?

Speaker 4:

very concerned like am I concerned? I, am I concerned about how they're gonna do this year, that they're not gonna finish top four, or my concerns they're not gonna win the league? What, what tell me?

Speaker 6:

winning the league. Winning the league.

Speaker 4:

Winning the league. It's man city, it's cities to lose there. They're the best team in the world right now, by far, by far remember, makes the top four.

Speaker 6:

I.

Speaker 4:

I Think there's gonna be a lot of teams battling for that top four again this year in the Premier League. It's just the top priority up there. So how city, one billion dollars spent with for one point. Is that the way it works now?

Speaker 3:

Yep, yeah, but no one, no one talks about how much, how much money they've made selling players. We saw about oh, they bought a bunch of players, they'll be fine, they'll win on Friday, they'll be.

Speaker 6:

No, I know, it looks like.

Speaker 3:

Chelsea looks like Chelsea slander site and click on it.

Speaker 4:

I don't watch it. You guys know exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 6:

Oh, I should go. Harry, did you watch the West Ham game? I?

Speaker 4:

Saw the highlights. I actually I watched, I watch. I started watching Chelsea miss the penalty kick and then they gave up penalty kick and then oh yeah and they were up a man and they still lost three to one.

Speaker 3:

That was that was crazy.

Speaker 6:

I was feeling so good when oh messy as a oh, all right, messy as a free kick right now, 117th minute. He's probably like 23 yards out on the left side, perfect place, I'm gonna dive the wrong way, like you'd like, hey you see that place for message.

Speaker 4:

You see that one where the goalkeeper was standing outside of the post, outside the goal post on the free kick. When that's it again.

Speaker 6:

Didn't that?

Speaker 4:

smells like a mistake but Well, like the sixes in there.

Speaker 6:

Oh.

Speaker 4:

You guys, where would you guys with messy right now? Where would you guys put MLS right now? We're compared to EPL, the compared to the English league. Where would you put that? Would you put them in the championship? When you put them in League one, league two, would you say there in?

Speaker 3:

the.

Speaker 4:

Premier League team.

Speaker 3:

League one.

Speaker 4:

I say league two. I think, if we leave one and lead two, it would be there.

Speaker 6:

It would be nowhere close to the prim Maybe lead to, wasn't it isn't it? Premier League championship and then League one.

Speaker 4:

Yep, then League two and then the National League. National League is what the yeah Wrexham was in, now Wrexham's in League one, I'm sorry, league two. I.

Speaker 6:

Agree with Harry.

Speaker 4:

All that money in your fucking shit. All that money and your fucking shit. All that money and your epic shit. All that money and your epic shit. All that money and your epic shit, all that money and your epic shit. There it is put that on the podcast. Christopher, I dare you, we'll cut that Language. I'm gonna play it again.

Speaker 3:

It's just West Ham Super Bowl. Every time they play Chelsea, each year it's like let's, let's just Play very well, let's win this, let's get Antonio a goal, and then we'll do it again next year.

Speaker 6:

I want to go to England from match day I.

Speaker 3:

Want to go to England we should how many a trip? To London. Let me let.

Speaker 6:

Harry, you're muted. Thank you, yeah, harry, you're muted. Hey, you're muted.

Speaker 4:

Chris, for you did that.

Speaker 6:

I.

Speaker 3:

Can't. I didn't know I can. I knew I can mute you, but I didn't know I couldn't unmute you, so sitting are trying to.

Speaker 4:

You are control freak, you know that.

Speaker 3:

Well, I think I'm the one who has to go in and edit this out. I get it, I get it.

Speaker 4:

Hey man, I get it, you have you have.

Speaker 6:

He said this is my show.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Sorry who is in who in the Premier League? Who is going to be a team that? Maybe not necessarily when, maybe not make the top four, whatever you think, but what is a team that's going to outperform expectations, maybe make a little run and outperform?

Speaker 4:

I Say right now, brighton. Who would have thought brightening finish at the top.

Speaker 6:

Yep.

Speaker 4:

Can they, if they can finish in the top six again or improve on that? They, they are the story that per Premier League right now, because they were. They were at the championship. What? Two, three years ago, I think three years ago, yeah so They've got some good players.

Speaker 4:

They got you know and who you know they're right now. They're first. I mean, granted, you know they had two weaker opponents, but you know they're only the one of the three teams besides Arsenal, city that you know have maximum points. You know after two games Incredible that only three teams have six points after two weeks. But you know that tells you how competitive the Premier League is. So that that's a team that I'm watching. I'm interested if new castle Can can challenge, for you know one or two I think they'll finish in the top four. I don't know if. I don't know if they've got the depth to finish in the top two. Can arsenal? Can arsenal challenge city again? If they get a lead, will they choke it again? No, city, cities, cities got the broader is out. How long three months you got until like January.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so three or four but, you look at what comes off the bench.

Speaker 4:

You know you get turned. Look who come up. You know a guy that starts with an English national team. So you know, yeah, you know, as long as they, as long as they have pollen on that team, he averages the goal of game, every game you now does he. You know, I've seen criticism that he doesn't score. And in the big games it's, you know, the league championship or the.

Speaker 6:

He doesn't score in games that Kevin De Bruyne doesn't play in but well.

Speaker 3:

We isn't scored in five finals, we're gonna find out.

Speaker 4:

We're gonna find out, because now we're talking three months but.

Speaker 4:

I think what happens in those big big games, kind of like, you know, kind of like the Champions League, is, I think the other teams are, you know, they're putting so much effort to stop him and I think it opens up everyone else. So, you know, I don't know if that's a smart strategy or not. You know, because, yeah, I was just gonna say that you know you could stop him, but then you've got another ten players that you have. You know, do you have to be concerned with them? You know, today is the only team in the Premier League where there's no weakness. Maybe they're goalkeeper, I don't know, but there's no, we was there, goalkeeper.

Speaker 3:

Is it at her Edison or?

Speaker 4:

what's his name? Edison right, the Brazilian, with the captain's on his neck.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, is that a person?

Speaker 3:

Who's the goalie for? Who's the goalie for United? What's his name?

Speaker 6:

Oh.

Speaker 3:

Nana. Oh Nana, is he good, because I I can't stay in Chelsea's goalie. You got to get rid of that guy.

Speaker 6:

Well, he's certainly better than Chelsea's goal. He played the champion.

Speaker 4:

So Amy and Valerie were in the England for three days and Scotland for 11. Look what they brought back Nice a Cadbury dairy milk gift for you. Well, it says here 100% Sustainably source cocoa.

Speaker 3:

Hell yeah.

Speaker 6:

Are you gonna try it first on stream?

Speaker 4:

right now. That's what I'm doing right now, man.

Speaker 3:

Oh, let's go. It'd be so funny. It'd be so funny if the candy wrapper was like 60% ethically sourced cocoa. You just a portion is that we sourced. This is huge news. Rip Andrew. What up in Andrew?

Speaker 4:

Oh, oh let's go.

Speaker 6:

Let's go. What's the flavor again, cadbury.

Speaker 4:

Cadbury. Cadbury milk chocolate.

Speaker 6:

Wow.

Speaker 3:

So what does that mean? It's got milk chocolate and it's got like that, no free as though. Yeah, we'll bleep this, harry.

Speaker 1:

Oh.

Speaker 3:

We mentioned Harry.

Speaker 4:

Definitely better than Than that's yeah or her she I mean hot take, hot take yeah like yeah damn, Almost European chocolate oh. By the way, they don't call them chips crisps, chris, and they have some pretty wild flavors, apparently catch up, chris, are very popular.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Peter's told me about that. Yeah, yeah, he said they're huge. I want to try them. I heard they're good.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I'm trying to get back to Jax.

Speaker 4:

Let's do it. That's who I cannot do it this week and I cannot do it Labor Day weekend. So let's see what schedule is after the week, after Labor Day. Let's pull it up. Let's make a decision right now.

Speaker 3:

They got an international break after Labor Day.

Speaker 4:

No, I'm going, I'm gonna be in Miami that weekend. Miami, miami since that year and tens right now, let's see scored.

Speaker 6:

The says September.

Speaker 3:

September 16th United Brighton at 10, arsenal Everton at 1230.

Speaker 4:

Speaking of Everton, they're not going to survive this year. They suck, they look so I'm done right now. Mark it down, mark the tape. 953 pm, august 23 2023, everton will be one of three teams that gets relegated to ship. They are missing or they escaped. Two years in a row they escaped getting ready to regulate it and they did absolutely nothing to improve that team Nothing. They're terrible.

Speaker 6:

We're gonna be other two teams. I think Latin goes back down.

Speaker 4:

Latin goes back down. But pretty impressive that Latin has that one player that he started in the championship In over 10 years. He went from championship. I mean that championship. He went from the National League, which is a league that yeah. I saw that that Wrexham was in and as the team got promoted, so in like what 10, 11 years they went. They went up five divisions To the Premier League and there's only one player that was with them that whole ride.

Speaker 6:

That's pretty wild the whole time I say a lot of respect for that guy man.

Speaker 4:

That that's. That's impressive. That's impressive. So let's see.

Speaker 6:

Elsie could get relegated.

Speaker 1:

I think it'll be Sheffield.

Speaker 6:

Sheffield Everton. What?

Speaker 4:

if four, fours will probably be there. So don't, don't get out of it somehow. Full of the other team didn't full of what? Was it full? Didn't they finish eight or something like that. Um, you got Arsenal, tottenham, september 24, 90 and boys.

Speaker 6:

Tottenham, tottenham, tottenham.

Speaker 4:

Tottenham, liverpool, september 30th at 12 30. I'm just thinking of days that we can go to uh Jack Arsenal, man City, october 3rd, 11 30 boom.

Speaker 6:

I mean I'm in okay, I just got.

Speaker 4:

I know in October I've got, I've got to take Valerie to Tallahassee for College weekend.

Speaker 6:

That's a. Sunday. Isn't it October 3rd Sunday, right?

Speaker 4:

Just the game's October 8, october 8 of the Sunday. So, chris, should we? Should we mark that down for Jack? He left us, he left us and muted himself. Corey, you're in charge now.

Speaker 6:

All right, let's get it. October 8th.

Speaker 4:

October 8 11 30 am. That's a Sunday. Arsenal, man City Ooh, all right.

Speaker 6:

Or as Corey would say Well, christopher doesn't have a lot of excuses anymore because he lives here.

Speaker 4:

He lives and he lives here, oh, corey Corey. By the way, I'm in my third week of physical therapy for my rotator cuff tear injury.

Speaker 6:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

I. I actually had to wait Not normally it's two weeks after a rotator cuff surgery to start PT. I had to wait heat my. My surgeon may be wait six weeks, why? Because he said I didn't have a tear in my rotator cuff. He said I had a hole in my rotator cuff, so so it took longer for it to heal. Dr Seth gas, or you ever heard of him?

Speaker 6:

Haven't. No okay, so you did six weeks of what?

Speaker 4:

Six weeks of just nothing, nothing. Six weeks just no heavy lifting, no, no extra stretching. And then I Finally got to start my therapy, my PT, but I can only do Stretching. I can't do any strengthening exercises. Yet I got to wait another month before I can do that. Yeah, I'm basically just working with, you know, the, the broomstick, just kind of doing the lifting and this kind of right, right, right. And, by the way, my therapist her name is Vanessa looks just like, just like your girlfriend, exactly like really. Yeah.

Speaker 6:

Where, what, uh? What PT office are you going to?

Speaker 4:

I'm going to uh florida orthopedic institute Um the one in citrus park.

Speaker 6:

Well, how is your shoulder at this point?

Speaker 4:

It's getting better all the time. I mean the therapy's helping out a lot because I'm you know, I'm Working on muscles and stretching, you know, parts of my shoulder and I haven't done in since june the surgery was on june 6.

Speaker 6:

Are you in any pain?

Speaker 4:

Nope.

Speaker 6:

You been pained before.

Speaker 4:

Oh, pain before. Yeah, yeah, pain, pain. You know, especially sitting on a desk all day, and you know I would put ice on it occasionally. But you know, now the only time I put any ice on it is when I'm done. When I'm done with my therapy, put ice on it for 10 minutes and then I go home, start my day. Wednesdays and fridays 7 30 am 7 38 30.

Speaker 6:

Nice, that's good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 6:

Sounds like it's going well.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that sounds good.

Speaker 4:

Yep Emily's twin.

Speaker 6:

First for SPT, in his future too, it sounds like. Yeah, chrissie, yeah, I gotta get some PT, both of you guys are getting old.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm getting old.

Speaker 4:

I'm just getting one year close to retirement. That's all I got to say.

Speaker 3:

Me too.

Speaker 6:

Oh Harry, when are you gonna retire? Drop it on the pod.

Speaker 4:

Valerie. Valerie is going to be 18 next month. She's a senior in high school, so let's see if 2023, she she'll be the class of 2024. My goal to retire in 2028 when she graduated.

Speaker 3:

What if the US wins the world cup? Would you retire in 26? I can't.

Speaker 4:

I'd have to hit, I'd have to win the lottery or something.

Speaker 6:

So, harry, 2028 cruise 2028 fall, I cannot.

Speaker 4:

I cannot retire until Valerie is done with your undergraduate.

Speaker 6:

Sounds like she needs to hurry up the 2028 summer cruise.

Speaker 4:

But. But I mean, we're gonna, I'm gonna take three, three weeks off, and you know, june, july of 2026, and we're doing the RV trip, right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's gonna be lit.

Speaker 4:

Yep, so you guys know we can broadcast.

Speaker 3:

We can record it in the in the RV on the way, we're gonna.

Speaker 4:

We're gonna. We're gonna leave Tampa and we're gonna drive to Miami. We're gonna watch the opening games in Miami.

Speaker 3:

And I'm not driving.

Speaker 4:

Then we'll go to Atlanta and then we'll take it to, uh um, philadelphia, then we'll walk some games in that life stadium and then we'll go to Gillette stadium in in Boston and then we'll come back.

Speaker 3:

We're about Dallas too far away. Okay.

Speaker 6:

Christopher uh. Harry said October 8th Was this arsenal man city or?

Speaker 4:

something Arsenal city yeah one.

Speaker 3:

She tell me, like October the fifth, I'll be there.

Speaker 4:

There's really no big games before that and then you got here really no problem skip.

Speaker 3:

I'm just looking forward to Chelsea playing, playing. Uh, how do you say it? Is it lutein or lutein?

Speaker 4:

I'm trying to. I mean, oh, two days from now.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, if they don't win that game, oh whoo, it's gonna be a rough one.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, if they don't win that. Harry they don't win who I got.

Speaker 3:

I got a two-part question for you. Uh, they could both be the same. Answer one question who is the? If you had to pick one person on Chelsea to take off the team and put them on the arsenal squad number two, who is the best player on Chelsea?

Speaker 4:

I don't know man.

Speaker 3:

Come on, harry. I don't know you can't think of one. You can't think of one player you put on that team. They spent a billion dollars.

Speaker 4:

I know, I know they spent a billion and, uh, the one that they spend the most when he gave up pk and the other one missed the pk.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, that was a terrible. Silver still ends. It was gonna be good. Ends is gonna be good. Yeah, you got silver.

Speaker 4:

You got silver sterling. He's still playing. He's kind of like beyond. You know he's on the downhill.

Speaker 3:

You don't know who's on the team either. What?

Speaker 1:

No, I didn't think he looked at that last game tiasi, that's the one guy you take. Oh, you gotta go, coal will. Harry young English international.

Speaker 3:

Center back in zoe, take ins ins those best player on that team right now, and so it's the bones.

Speaker 6:

Good, inzo is the best player on that team and it's not even close. Yes, correct.

Speaker 3:

He's playing a different game than everyone else.

Speaker 4:

I tell you what you know. Who's been a real disappointment for Chelsea? That luderick guy Modern modern.

Speaker 6:

He's like 20 years old. He'll be okay.

Speaker 4:

The one that you guys, that one that you know, that arsenal had in the bag and then Chelsea came in and out bibb.

Speaker 6:

He got signed during a civil war. What do you want him to do? Score goal. I'm just kidding.

Speaker 3:

He's good, he's like 20 years old though He'll be okay. He'll be okay, he'll be good. They just need to give him like some sort of confidence. They played him in one game last year and then they're like, yeah, we're just gonna sit. You're not giving you any playing time in a season. That means absolutely nothing.

Speaker 4:

Um this weekend the best thing is uh, new castle Liverpool.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, what's the deal with new castle? I feel like they were hyped and they just not are that good. I haven't really seen him play, but it's a high expectation, you know. Who's your best player is the day of that trippy a trippy a guy I see only when I really know on the team.

Speaker 6:

They have a left winger.

Speaker 1:

I can't remember Dan burn, or he said winger right, I don't know uh, I recognize Callum Wilson Romney, that's your best.

Speaker 4:

All right, guys, I've got. I've got another 20 minutes. So what were some of the topics that Um, you want to specifically go over today?

Speaker 6:

What's your uh, what's your favorite part about football season? One or two, one or two favorite things about football season.

Speaker 4:

European. Are we talking the football or are we talking?

Speaker 6:

American football, what we're talking about good old american hat on hat football.

Speaker 4:

NFL.

Speaker 6:

Well, as specific or as vague as we want to make it for me.

Speaker 4:

That question is very easy. Fsu is back, baby FSU.

Speaker 6:

Okay, so your favorite FSU.

Speaker 4:

Fsu is in the conversation once again. Fsu has not been preseason top 10 since 2017. Harry's favorite part about football is football. Florida State went 12 years in a row finishing in the top four. Florida State is, do you think?

Speaker 6:

they're gonna stay in the top 10? I'd be nervous Um high expectations. What if they?

Speaker 3:

lose to LSU, they lose to LSU.

Speaker 4:

They, they better not get blown out.

Speaker 3:

Where's that game at?

Speaker 4:

that game is in our land.

Speaker 6:

Could be an FSU.

Speaker 4:

You know, how much tickets are going for right now the 300 level.

Speaker 6:

Uh, yep, that's what I was gonna say 500.

Speaker 4:

I was gonna go, and then we look at tickets. Hotels are outrageous right now. That's why I'm going to my end. I gotta place a picture.

Speaker 3:

Who's mason smith? Why is he suspended for the LSU FSU game?

Speaker 4:

There's.

Speaker 3:

LSU star defensive tackles suspended for season opener. Season opener against FSU the FSU needs is going to be able to run the football.

Speaker 4:

FSU Right now, I would have to say, has the best Best combination of quarterback, running backs and wide receivers. They got the best trio in the country. They may not have the best quarterback in the country, they may not have the best. Running back in the country, they may not have the best wide user wide receiver but but but, collectively, collectively. They're, they're freaking loaded in those positions right now.

Speaker 3:

As far as I started, I thought they had a good wide receiver.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, they got that guy another, another, calvin benjamin, and that's kind of 68 Wait what Calvin benjamin. Calvin benjamin. Like college, the college calvin benjamin not the okay, okay, okay Okay. Not the carolina panacea.

Speaker 6:

High school Gotcha gotcha the guy who gained 50 pounds in six weeks.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, signing an apple contract and Get a bit of russian Johnny wilson, the wider the junior I've heard about him. Oh, he transferred from arizona state.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, arizona state, the cj might know, probably heard of him beforehand.

Speaker 3:

DJ, dj. Yeah, let's have you our pack 12 guy.

Speaker 6:

Guy subtle flex. Rsl is playing houston and the other semi final of the best open cup and my teammate from high school is starting out left back Do about it.

Speaker 4:

Is that the same as the lamar cup, or the lamar cup is something different? That question is over my head because I know that the lamar cup is open to everyone.

Speaker 6:

I don't keep up with them unless like that. So I have no idea. It says lamar hunt. So yeah, it's the same thing.

Speaker 4:

Okay, so the more hot, all right. So, this is the tournament. This is like the equivalent of the fa cup it's open to everyone.

Speaker 6:

Okay, bfr so wins. I basically Could be playing against lino messi directly.

Speaker 4:

Oh, your buddy's still there.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, he's starting. He's playing left back. I can see him right now.

Speaker 4:

He might get the he may get to defend league messy. How about that? Pretty well, be crazy.

Speaker 6:

Right, that would be crazy, because messy would be playing right wing, right forward, or whatever.

Speaker 4:

Oh, that's right, he's a left defender left outside mid.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, oh man, he would be in for a day Look.

Speaker 3:

Harry, we got to get you on, we got to talk. Uh, we should get. Alex, do you charm on? Do a little fsu preview, that'd be cool.

Speaker 4:

What's your?

Speaker 6:

prediction what's your available over next week?

Speaker 4:

I wish kori was still on. Chris, what's your prediction? Florida state lsu. What's your prediction? Give me a score lsu.

Speaker 3:

I don't know who's gonna win 27, 24, 28, 20, 20 20, 20, 20, say lsu 31, fsu 17, let me ask you a question why is lsu favored?

Speaker 4:

Why? Why is esp Again? There's like 65 saying lsu is going to win and now the point spread. I think it's actually lsu's favorite, like three and a half, I think.

Speaker 3:

Why is probably just because it's sec, I don't know. I mean because they're ranked five, everybody's back and can I tell you something?

Speaker 4:

I think it's it's it's Motivation for florida state. I'm glad that they're the younger daughter.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think it bodes well for him because even if they lose the game I mean I think if either of them lose the game, and it's not really a big deal- All right, we'll see what happens. What do you got? What do you got going on next week? So we want to do a kind of an fsu preview going into that week, maybe record on like a Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Speaker 4:

I've, I've got our, we've got our fantasy football draft on the 29th and then my other fantasy football draft is actually after the NFL season starts. We do it on on the Friday, the 8th of September. So what we do is, if you draft a player that played on that 30s and I game, you get their points. So so, yeah, I can do it, I can do it the. I can do it the. The week of the 28th, like one day, tuesday, wednesday, next week I'll be leaving for talent.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I mean I'll be leaving from Miami.

Speaker 4:

I mean I'll be leaving from Miami on on September 1 Friday.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, uh, shoot for Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Speaker 4:

All right, that's good.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we just can't do Thursday. So yeah, tuesday, wednesday, I'll see you. Met Alex right. My old roommate Went to fsu. Yeah, he's pumped by. He think he's like, yeah, they're all the way back. I was talking to him the other day, so we'll have to get him on to talk about fsu too. That'd be cool, because I don't. I don't know much about college football right now. I haven't really Looked into it and still starts.

Speaker 4:

All right, I'll be better prepared for the fsu. As far as the names you know, I just haven't really gotten into it yet because you know yeah same. The week leading into that game I'm gonna be freaking fired up for it, you know.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm pumped that it's back, so I'll probably do Some research, I guess. But yeah, let's connect next Tuesday or Wednesday and just do like a kind of a college football preview more of an emphasis on fsu, lsu and Get some predictions out of the way. That way we have these predictions that we just put in and then next week we can do additional Predictions. We got the double chance to be in, right?

Speaker 4:

All right man Sounds good guys. All right man.

Speaker 3:

I'll talk to you all next week, see you.
