Speaker 1:

3, 2, 1. Hello and welcome SportsBruh's Episode 32. Big episode today Michigan, champions of college football. The NFL Playoffs are set. Poaches are getting fired left to right Kentucky, Pete, Florida in Gainesville, North Korea. But yeah, there's a lot of sports to talk about which. What do we want to start with? Let's start with the NFL Playoffs.

Speaker 2:

We talk about Playoffs. You kidding me? Playoffs, hey.

Speaker 3:

Coach Mora, we're gonna throw a Playoffs party in my backyard. Big screen TV, lots of cold refreshing course light. You kidding me? No, we're even gonna play touch football with the neighbors. I don't care who you play.

Speaker 1:

Coach, there's gonna be girls at our party. You think we should talk to them about the Playoffs.

Speaker 3:

Playoffs Don't talk about it. Playoffs, playoffs you kidding me Playoffs, okay, okay, don't talk about it. I brought it up.

Speaker 2:

Isn't it hilarious. Did you guys feel like that? When we recorded that podcast last year, we knew it was coming. We were like this is the end of it. And here we are a year later and they're playing the same game against the Eagles on money and football on the wildcard. It's hilarious.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, if you want to get the super role, you have to go through stadium, go through Tampa, baby yeah.

Speaker 4:

It's just in football you know what I mean. We just dominate the division, secure our spot. We win the games we need to win. And now we're here, we are.

Speaker 2:

Yep which isn't a crazy that this is the first time in our franchise history that Bucks have won three straight NFC South. This team, this is the team that won three straight NFC South division titles. That's hilarious, that's wild, I mean I think that's coaching right, Todd Boles.

Speaker 1:

How many playoff games does he need to win to stick around? I?

Speaker 2:

think he's already sticking around, man, I think we're pretty good. I think we're pretty good back with Baker and Boles next year.

Speaker 1:

So if we lose like 31 to three on Monday night, is Todd Boles coach next year.

Speaker 2:

I mean, we were predicted last in the division. We were literally the longest shots. Carolina had better odds to win the NFC South than we did.

Speaker 4:

Boles, how'd that work?

Speaker 2:

I look to that. By the way, you know what their win total was, their projected win total for this year what do you think? It was Six and a half or seven and a half? It was seven and a half, damn, but that's the easiest bet ever. Can you imagine if you bet the under? I mean, you didn't even think about it the whole year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you were done, and by November you were ready to party. Yeah, it was already over.

Speaker 4:

I mean they were going into that season with, like Theland coming in, miles Sanders coming in, they get Hayden Hearst or something.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean it was really sad when Theland did that interview post game and they were asked about his future. They were like did you think you were actually going to have a chance to win here? He's like yeah, I mean I kind of thought maybe year two, bryce Young, we get something going we built off of this year. Now it's a complete disaster.

Speaker 1:

How long is this deal? Was it significant? I don't remember.

Speaker 2:

No, I think it was only a two-year deal. So he thought like, okay, I'm going to come into a situation with a rookie QB. We'll build off the first year. Next year we're looking to go on a deep run near the heart of likes, literally starting over from scratch, and they got the wrong three. I think we all saw another Bryce Young this year, to call it right. Do you see this guy being a legitimate quarterback? Yeah, I know.

Speaker 4:

Nope Well, Baker looked bad in Carolina.

Speaker 2:

It's true. I mean, maybe Carol Sam Darrell looked bad in Carolina too and he looked, I mean he looked good in the 49ers.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I mean, I don't know, yet it's like 80-20 in my head 80% chance. Yeah that, he's about 20%.

Speaker 1:

You guys think CJ.

Speaker 4:

Stroud is better.

Speaker 2:

Oh, definitely, cj Stroud is the dude Like he then and I we were. I was thinking about this If you go back in history, every situation that you're at, when two quarterbacks were picked, first and second, there's never been a situation where those both of those quarterbacks panned out to be great. In every case. It's always been one's good, one's bad, or both of them are bad. What about James and Mariota? Right, those are both bad. Still didn't work.

Speaker 4:

Totally.

Speaker 2:

Fairly. No, I mean, you could go down like Andrew, like Ryan Leif, peyton Manning, I mean Carson Wentz, Jared, ryan, leif sucked them. Ryan Leif was bad. Yeah, exactly so, peyton Manning. So that's what I'm saying is, you had two options, two you had two picks there, both quarterbacks. One of them was good, one of them was bad. You just, I think, caroline, I just picked the wrong one.

Speaker 4:

Can you explain that to us, like we're third graders?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what if you're the third pick and you trade into the second pick? Does that?

Speaker 2:

still count. Yeah, that's what Washington did. I'm just talking about, like, who are the top two picks? If they both take a quarterback, odds are one of them is going to be good and one of them is going to be bad All right, so Caleb Williams, Drake May, which one is which Exactly? That's the question for this year. It's going to be the same situation. One of them is going to be good, one of them is going to be bad. I disagree. Well, give me a situation Like if you think about it, go back.

Speaker 4:

So are you saying that you would rather be the commanders in the draft right now? Ooh not a lot of risk.

Speaker 2:

It depends on who they get. I mean, it depends Maybe it's Drake May and Caleb Williams is the bust.

Speaker 1:

Well, I mean, if you look at it, most draft picks are busts, right. So if you're picking two draft picks, regardless of where they are, one's probably good.

Speaker 2:

I'm talking about a situation in the draft where you have the top two picks are quarterbacks, not like one quarterback goes first and the other one goes fifth. I'm talking about when both are one, two are quarterbacks. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, odds are that it's not a good situation for both. It's one's good, one's bad.

Speaker 1:

Would you say Jameson Marriota are the best one two punch ever drafted consecutively.

Speaker 2:

Well, you're talking about equivalency between the two of them and the careers. Probably they're both on equal. Neither team won that. Neither team got a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 4:

The early 30 season.

Speaker 2:

Okay, that was a lot trick. Here's another one Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson.

Speaker 1:

One's good, one's bad.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, one place for the Jets. I mean, yeah, that's a big factor.

Speaker 1:

So we should just take a little hour with this.

Speaker 4:

This was the crazy thing to spend 15 minutes on 25% of our recording time. So what about if there's like three quarterbacks top three?

Speaker 2:

One, two, three. Has that ever happened? I don't think we've have we ever had one, two, three.

Speaker 1:

We'll have to revisit that on episode 33. We'll have a promise to a deep dive for us, that'd be funny.

Speaker 4:

Who was after Baker?

Speaker 2:

Oh, baker's draft. What was that 2017?

Speaker 4:

Was that with Trevor Lawrence, no 2017 was. Mitchell Trabisky.

Speaker 2:

Baker was 2018,. It was Baker and then Saquon and then Sam Donald, the Josh Allen at 7. Josh Allen was 7, yeah, yeah, not to like.

Speaker 1:

And they got it from Tampa.

Speaker 2:

Tampa gave them that draft pick. Yeah, that was from the Bucks. They traded down. Bucks could have had Josh Allen. Oh, I forgot about this. 1-2-3 was Trevor Lawrence. Sack Wilson, trey Lance was 3. That was 1-2-3. And look at that, one of the three actually panned out which one. I mean that's a good point. Everyone with Jack did. I mean there's still questions about Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1:

Well, speaking of all these teams that cannot make playoffs, let's dive in. I'm interested to see what your picks are this weekend. I see the board and I see a lot of easy picks this weekend. I think I see a lot that is very predictable at CFF First game, Browns, Texans, Victor who was winning that game Houston at home Houston is plus 3.

Speaker 5:

Yep home dog. Yeah, I'm going to go with the upset and Texans To win, To win.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, I love the Browns in this game they just played three weeks ago.

Speaker 2:

So we just saw the safe situation in Houston, Except there was no CJ Stroud.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what you guys think. Victor's got Houston. I have Browns. I like Browns.

Speaker 2:

I like Browns. Yeah, I like the Browns just because it's really tough as a rookie quarterback to win your first playoff game. I think I saw someone with a rookie quarterback making his first NFL playoff game as like 20-20. So it's not a good record. Maybe it was Andrew Luck was the only one that actually won his first. Yeah, I just. I mean Houston's been a great story this year. I mean second longest odds to make the playoffs and make it it. They were.

Speaker 2:

Everyone thought they were in a full rebuild and this was going to be another four or five win season for them, with a brand new coach and a rookie quarterback. It's been incredible what they've been able to do. They could have had a much better record. They blew some games. Cj Stroud got hurt. They kind of got lucky with the collapse of the Jags to get into the playoffs. They snuck in. But they definitely deserve it and I think it's crazy to say this, but I think this might be the best Browns team we've ever seen. Like. I agree with that. When did the Browns ever been like this dominant on the defensive side of the ball and running the football with Joe Blacko?

Speaker 1:

You mentioned saying that, like eight weeks ago, when Sean Watson was put on IR like a month and a half, how long ago was that? Was that week he played five weeks yeah. And they lost Nick Chubb. I completely forgot about Nick Chubb.

Speaker 2:

Oh, week two, man, they had to restart their season like twice this year because you had the Nick Chubb injury. In week two Watson was in and out. I mean remember there were times where Watson he was cleared to play and then decided not to. They went to Dorian Thomas Robinson, the rookie, and they just go pick up Joe Blacko off and people are like there's no way. I mean he was on the Jets last year, he literally just played. We saw him and you throw him in that system. He's got to run, he's got targets, he's slinging it. Oh my gosh.

Speaker 5:

He looks really good he does.

Speaker 1:

He looks really good. Joe Flacco 4,001 odds to win the Super Bowl MVP. Just putting it out there 4,001. Can you imagine? Can you imagine God?

Speaker 2:

So not to skit too far ahead. But the reason why I want the Browns to win this game is because that Browns Ravens divisional matchup. Joe Flacco going back to Baltimore oh my gosh, it's going to be so good. It's the story.

Speaker 1:

In fact he said that means it's absolutely going to happen.

Speaker 2:

That's just the script, right there. Yeah, you know. I mean, if they win as long as the, what is it? I guess the Bills or the Dolphins don't win, because the Browns are the five seats. So yeah, as long as the Dolphins don't beat the Chiefs and the Steelers don't beat the Bills, the Browns winning means they go to Baltimore.

Speaker 4:

It's a good segue. Yeah, we talk Dolphins Chiefs.

Speaker 2:

Dolphins Chiefs. What's the latest update on the weather? Is it we talking negative windshield, zero degrees? Oh my gosh, can you imagine, like, if you're the Dolphins right, you had a home game for the division championship, the division title, last Sunday night, bills coming in. Bills had to win five in a row to even get a chance at that, which is crazy, like the fact that the Dolphins collapsed like this at the end of the season and you lose that game. And then, all of a sudden, right there waiting for you is Kansas City, patrick Mahomes and a freaking blizzard. Like the worst situation.

Speaker 1:

The high is 10 degrees 10 degrees.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, that's the high. I saw that they have never. The Dolphins Never. When the Bucks couldn't win a game above freezing the Dolphins still haven't. The Dolphins have never won a game when it's below 40.

Speaker 1:

I see that streak continuing. I think Chiefs won this game 13 points. Yeah, I don't really see it being that close. Is Waddle and Moester? Are they playing?

Speaker 2:

I think so. I think that's why they both set last week to make sure that they could play. Is that what you guys saw as well?

Speaker 4:

Waddle is limited today. Tyreek was limited today. Yeah Chan was limited. Moester was limited.

Speaker 2:

I mean that's tough for the Dolphins they have so many enemies, oh, great question. Kaderius Tony playing. That's the key factor. That would be hilarious if Kaderius Tony did not play. Coach's decision we're going to say the playoffs is just a case. Something bad happens, tyreek.

Speaker 4:

Revenge game though.

Speaker 2:

It is a Tyreek revenge game, because I think they played earlier this year, which was the first time that he faced the Chiefs since he got traded. Oh, they did, but it was in Germany.

Speaker 4:

Oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2:

So this is the first time, Just risking back to Arrowhead Yep Going back to Arrowhead, which I think he's going to be really motivated, why wouldn't he? He's going back to the team that refused to pay him. So if we're talking, problems. I love a Tyreek. He'll anytime touchdown bet, maybe even a first time touchdown bet.

Speaker 1:

Kind of like Tyreek two touchdowns now I don't know if it's working touchdowns. He had eight catches.

Speaker 4:

He had eight catches.

Speaker 1:

He had over in reception. He had over in reception in that game Eight for 62. Like his over in receptions, especially if Waddle is not playing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, how do you think who is going to throw the ball, though, when it's negative 10?

Speaker 1:

It's not going to look good. Yeah, we should get Alex on here. Maybe he can explain it to us.

Speaker 2:

They ain't going to watch the game so he doesn't have any comments. He probably is like good, I don't have peacock, I don't have to pay for it, I have an excuse. Yeah, look at this game. I think the only legitimate chance you could give the Dolphins is if Mahomes just has one of his bad games. Is he had a couple of them this year? I mean, heck, the Raiders game on Christmas was awful, like the Chiefs were a disaster. If he just comes out, turns the ball over, the Dolphins are somehow able to stop the run, which I think that's the problem for the Dolphins, right? They lost Bradley Chubb. They lost the other good defensive end they had. They're really, really hurt and banged up, so I just don't see how they could stop the run and put up enough points on a really good Chiefs defense. I mean, that's what's going to carry the Chiefs through the playoffs as their defense.

Speaker 1:

What's your score prediction for this game? If you had to pick one Just to see how close we are, I'm thinking 27-13 Chiefs.

Speaker 2:

Well, I don't think, I don't even know if I mean the overrunner is 44. 27-13, you're looking at 40. So maybe, yeah, I was thinking more like 20 to 10 or 20 to 13. I'm thinking really low scoring. Oh really, yeah, I love the under at this play.

Speaker 1:

So are we all on the Chiefs? Sounds like we're all on the Chiefs. You think they cover, Is it still? Is it four and a half?

Speaker 2:

I think they might cover four and a half. I think they might cover just because of how the game is going to be played. I just see this as a Dolphins are going in being like, look, we're just going to try to misdirection, run the ball, we're going to pound and moat, sir, we're going to try to get H in, Like they're just going to try to run the football. Right, I don't think they're going to try to throw the ball downfield too much just because of the weather, and I think the Chiefs are going to do the same thing. I think we're going to see a lot of Pacheco. I love his over and rushing. I think it's like 68, 70, something like that. I would definitely definitely hit the Pacheco over because in cold weather days these guys do not want to tackle Like in. Pacheco is one of those guys that you just don't want to tackle anyway because he runs like a wild person.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, he's awesome.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I could see him busting a couple. I like him scoring a touchdown. Yeah, I think the Chiefs role. It's playoff time. It's a magical homes.

Speaker 1:

It's a game. Yeah, I feel like I got to put a future on Kansas City.

Speaker 2:

I mean they lose whatever, but it's still Patrick, the only thing about a future on Kansas City, because I thought about this too. It was like you know, you're getting them at the best value possible. Probably that you'll see during Patrick Mahomes run. Right now they're like eight nine to one, something like that Is, if they win this game and the Bills win, then the Chiefs are going to Buffalo. Patrick Mahomes never played a road playoff game.

Speaker 1:

But imagine the scenes in Buffalo and I'm sorry for saying this, Buffalo, but if he goes in there and wins, oh good time too.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, If they just did the same thing that they did in Kansas City a couple of years ago, just did the same, oh my gosh. I think that would be worse for Buffalo fans, Worse than last year having to lose to Bengals. They got absolutely destroyed in the divisional. I think losing to the Chiefs at home when you're you've already beat them, but they beat them in Arrowhead. I don't think they've have they ever played in Buffalo. Every Chiefs Bills game I think of has always been in Arrowhead, that same.

Speaker 1:

So I guess, segue into that. Bill Steelers, no, TJ Watt.

Speaker 2:

No, no, tj Watt, no win. They won one game without TJ Watt. They're not winning this game.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, this one feels easy.

Speaker 2:

Bills minus two. It opened at minus seven. I would kind of kill myself for not jumping on that immediately. It's already jumped to 10. I think it could get as high as 12 before kick 12?.

Speaker 4:

I don't know. I would love Steelers plus 12.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you think they. I mean their only chance is to keep it low scoring and cover the spread right.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

I mean do we really do, we really trust defense counter to all.

Speaker 2:

I know they do, but they played well against Miami last week. Like you could hit on Bill's defense, but they won the game. But Josh Allen did not play well last week.

Speaker 4:

Is Vaughn Miller still just not playing?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4:

I heard they excused him right. Last I saw he was just like a healthy scratch.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think they just told him now we're good yeah.

Speaker 2:

Don't forget they also got playoff Lenny in there now.

Speaker 4:

True, yeah, great point, and it'll be a weapon.

Speaker 1:

We're at Dalvin Cuckoo, the Ravens Right.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4:

That'll be fun, I think.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So back in November I put in a futures parlay. I think I was. Yeah, it was on Fando, I was in Virginia and I got. I put it in when this is when the bills were like really struggling but I did bills versus 49ers at 47 to one in the Super Bowl Damn yeah, parlayed it with Kentucky when the national championship of course Put $3 to win. He's a crazy multiplier yeah yeah, $3,500. Which I think, if you look now bills 49ers, it's like eight to one.

Speaker 1:

Really I don't see that, I don't see the bills making it that far.

Speaker 2:

Really. I mean we kind of get into it. So we covered, that's the three AFC games. So just projecting forward, look at everybody we're all on, so Victor's the only one on the Texans, we're all in the Chiefs and we're all in the bills. So if that happens, we're looking at bills, Chiefs and the divisional. You guys don't like the bills there, you guys kind of. You guys like the Chiefs, yep.

Speaker 4:

No, I like the bills there.

Speaker 2:

Damn. The same way. I think the bills have got all the momentum. They already beat the Chiefs. I think this Chiefs team is just you have too many flaws. I think Kelsey just isn't the same guy and that they're getting no help from the receiver position. None, absolutely nothing. Yeah, rishi Rice, and that's it. It's tough to go on the road in the NFL and win a playoff game without a consistent offense.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it feels like two different trajectories for those two teams. Just feels like the Chiefs are kind of just stalling a little bit. The bills look better and better.

Speaker 1:

Well, the Chiefs just waiting for their time. This is where they play off time. This is Patrick Holmes. I know they're not home, but I've been on Patrick Holmes.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I will say this there's been a lot of comparisons to this Chiefs team and this run. They're on to the Patriots' dynasty this run is going to tell us whether they are the Patriots' dynasty, because if they can make it to the Super Bowl, or at least the AFC championship, within a player two of the Super Bowl, then they're like a legit dynasty. But if they just fold and lose this game of the Dolphins or lose, next week Gosh Chiefs erased from history.

Speaker 4:

It'd be great, Irrelevant.

Speaker 2:

They're not the Patriots. The Patriots are there. Every year they were in the AFC championship.

Speaker 4:

They immediately go from dynasty to oh yeah, that one Chiefs team, that Chiefs team with Cussie.

Speaker 1:

That one time when the pandemic yeah.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, the pandemic path Are you in the Bugs, beat them.

Speaker 2:

Now they've made it to the AFC championship. Every year Patrick Malmuss has been there, a quarterback right.

Speaker 1:

Wasn't it all of them except for his first year, or did they go as a rookie?

Speaker 2:

They went his first year. I think his first year was when they lost the Patriots in that overtime game.

Speaker 1:

I think that was the second year.

Speaker 2:

Patriots. And then the next year is when they went to the Super Bowl. They beat the 49ers. Of course, the Bugs beat them. Year after that, bingles beat them in the AFC. Last year they went again, won it. So yeah, they've been to the AFC championship every year, so this would be the measuring stick if they could get back there 2018, they lost in the conference and then since 2019.

Speaker 2:

The 2018. They lost in the divisional no conference. Yeah, yeah. So they've been in the AFC championship game every year Now. They've always played it whole too. Patrick Malmuss has never played a road playoff game. They've always been the one or the two. So to get to the Super Bowl, he's going to have to play two road playoff games, unless we get some crazy upsets, which is not going to happen.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I like Bills. I'd say if they both went and faced each other?

Speaker 2:

And then, when you look at the other side, if we're talking Browns over Texans, I mean, if I think of it's Texans, ravens, ravens by a mile I think that would be easy 10 point favorite. If it's Browns, though, Browns have already beat them in Baltimore, joe.

Speaker 4:

Flacco going back. The Ravens don't want to see the Browns.

Speaker 2:

They do not want to see the Browns. I mean, if you're talking, any team you don't want to see, I think the fan base is like I take the Chiefs, I'll take the build. Don't give me the Browns, but they're going to get them.

Speaker 4:

Those matchups are going to be so tasty, oh my gosh.

Speaker 2:

And also last time on the 1 MVP they were 14 and 2, 15 and 1. That was the year they got the one seed lost in the divisional Titans came in and beat them.

Speaker 1:

I see them losing in the divisional round again this year.

Speaker 2:

The Ravens Yep To the Browns Don't matter. Wow, don't matter. Are you think the Texans can go in there?

Speaker 1:

No, because they're going to lose to the Browns.

Speaker 4:

What if the Steelers win? Does it still not matter?

Speaker 2:

The Steelers going into the Ravens. They just beat them last week.

Speaker 1:

I feel like the Steelers could beat the Ravens before they could beat the Bills.

Speaker 2:

I mean we just saw it, but it was all backups. I mean they've actually beaten the Ravens twice this year. Could they beat them three times? I don't know.

Speaker 3:

But the.

Speaker 2:

Steelers aren't going to get past the Bills anyway.

Speaker 5:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I'm just kidding. They're done yeah.

Speaker 2:

We want to move over to the NFC. Well, I just want to make that point. I mean, when I look at the Ravens as a franchise, I see them as the underdog making a run in the playoffs, not the heavy favorite. So that's like I, the whole season, have been buying reasons to doubt the Ravens. I mean, they keep proving me wrong. I got the one seed. I didn't think that would happen, and Lamar is one-one playoff game. That's what I'm saying. It's against the Titans, they know so it's just what the Ravens do.

Speaker 1:

I feel like you doubt them. Then they win a couple of games, then they regress. Then they win a couple of games. They got hot at the end of the year. Then they go into the playoffs and then they lose, although Lamar looks better than he has at any point in his career honestly, so we need a they've got more web update.

Speaker 4:

Need a gut biome update from Lamar and see how the IBS is and then make your pick.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that was also another Browns Ravens game, the Diarrhea game. That was a claimant. I think, though, gosh, that would be amazing. What a crazy time that was. Covid Diarrhea, like nobody in stands, that was awesome. So let's say, the Ravens do get upset and it's Browns in the AFC championship, and they got to go to Buffalo. Do we really think the Browns are going to go to the Super Bowl? No, but I can see it. Joe Flacco man, you know, the Browns are the most of that team to go to the Super Bowl right now, or the most that Super Bowl team right now. The Browns. The odds are great. They're great odds 20 to 1, or something crazy.

Speaker 1:

I think we're going to see Bill's chiefs again, somehow.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, that'll be the divisional. I'm talking about the AFC championship. So think about the Browns upset the Ravens, then they got to go to Buffalo if the Bills win, or to Kansas City if the Chiefs win.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, that's what I'm saying Like I don't feel like Buffalo's going to win that game, so Cleve will be going to Arrowhead. They lose that game. And then Chiefs are in the Super Bowl, chiefs are back in the Super Bowl. Wow, chiefs and Cowboys.

Speaker 2:

Chiefs and Cowboys. You were the same thing last year. You were talking Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys.

Speaker 1:

That's only because I knew they were going to start to play off one-to-one now.

Speaker 5:

Now I kind of want to go to.

Speaker 1:

Eagles, but I just can't trust the Eagles.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, on that topic, let's switch to the NFC and let's talk about the Packers and the Cowboys, first NFC game. So this is what's crazy about this playoff schedule is that we will know the entire setup of the AFC before we even start the NFC, which I don't think's ever happened before. It's kind of crazy, weird lineup. Yeah, it's weird, I don't like it, but it is what it is. So we start off with Packers at Cowboys.

Speaker 1:

I have a take for this game. I Think the I think the Cowboys are going to win by 17 20. I don't think it's gonna be close. I think they're just gonna. I think CD lamb 150 yards to touchdowns. I think he's gonna just Keep doing what he's doing, maybe not fumble it in the end zone again, but yeah, I think the Cowboys dominate.

Speaker 2:

What about Jaya Alexander, though? Is he gonna be a captain? What if he's a captain?

Speaker 1:

some matter.

Speaker 4:

Who's that? Yeah, but he's not from Dallas, he's from a, he's from Charlotte.

Speaker 2:

The guy that went out for the coin flip and guys, yeah yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. He's back, he's got a guard CD, he's gonna shut him down.

Speaker 4:

That's true. Good point, dak. Three picks deck for me back over deck, yeah. I think if it was like it fills any other previous Dallas team, then I could have convinced myself that Green Bay had a chance. But I think Dak is playing too well and the defense is playing too well. I've never been sold on J love, probably never will be so same.

Speaker 1:

Really. It was in Green Bay maybe, but if it's in Dallas, See, that's what I think.

Speaker 2:

Everyone is looking at these logos and being like ooh Tough, tough draw for the Cowboys. But if you look, you're right. If you look at the teams, cowboys haven't lost at home, they're eight. No, they've dominated there. I mean they haven't even been close. That's the only close game was the Lions Game couple weeks ago that the refs messed up. But and then the Packers have been. I mean, what a roller coaster for season. They started like in the dumpster, had to crawl their way out and Then the Bucks go up there and shut down their whole playoff hopes and destroy a baker has like the best game anyone's ever had in Lambo. And then everyone's like other done because they lose the money night to Tommy DeVito and Then they've wore back into it. Somehow, some way, the Packers some get back in the playoffs. But you're right, jordan Love, rookie quarterback on the road playoffs. I Could see it. I could see it. I think I could just see the Cowboys collapsing after this season. But it's unlikely. I don't. I don't think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 1:

She said Jordan love rookie quarterback.

Speaker 2:

There's no right here. Right he's been. It was he a fucking big year? I was waiting, man. First year starters, what I meant first year starter on playoffs and playoffs.

Speaker 4:

Okay, yeah, his first year starting in the playoffs, rookie.

Speaker 2:

No, this is his first year first year starter. Air Rogers was quarterback last year.

Speaker 4:

First starter rookie home field playoffs ever this year, 2024 January this year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah are we all in Dallas? Do we think they cover the spread? I?

Speaker 2:

say yes, they do not. I think of Dallas wins. I think it's close.

Speaker 1:

See things can be close or a green base gonna win by a lot. I.

Speaker 2:

Could see this being like Packers go up 14, nothing and and Dallas has to find a way to come back.

Speaker 4:

I Still think that the Cowboys can easily come back, even if something crazy happens like that.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, their offense is really good, I mean the defense, I think that's what.

Speaker 4:

Branded cooks.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he's good yeah is he kill?

Speaker 4:

I mean Tony Pollard, yeah they finally.

Speaker 2:

I mean, dude, what a terrible fantasy draft pick that was. But Thank you, had a man, one league, it was awful, terrible awful.

Speaker 1:

He was so good with playing like the secondary, like what is doubtful. First name Ricky or Ricky dattle yeah, no, awesome, awesome name. I'd be giving him the ball more.

Speaker 2:

Although we're gonna have deuce back there get the ball. But he hasn't done it. Has done anything.

Speaker 4:

Haven't heard his name. No, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it would be the Cowboys that would have an epic collapse like this and lose. I would love it, but I think, I really do think we're destined to have Eagles, cowboys in the vision around Third time. Think it's gonna happen?

Speaker 4:

Eagles, cowboys.

Speaker 2:

Yep, so that goes to the next game. Because the only way that happens is if the Lions who I mean, if you're the Lions, this is the worst draw right. Like people are saying, oh, the Packers would have been worse, but the Packers are a worse team. Like I think they would have been like, okay, we're not gonna lose twice At home to the Packers this year and they got embarrassed on Thanksgiving. That was a disaster. But Of all teams, they get Matt Stafford Coming back home. I mean that's gotta be gut wrenching, that's bad. That's bad, not good. Have you seen the guy? Have you seen the clip it was? It went viral a couple years ago. But the Detroit Lions fan Talking about Matt Stafford, he's like Matt Stafford, I don't care about Matt Stafford, that guy, no, I got Jericho. I gotta say this.

Speaker 1:

No, I never saw that oh my gosh. Is it old?

Speaker 2:

yeah, it was like two years ago when Matt they played, so they played the first year that he was true. The year the Rams won the Super Bowl, they played out in LA man. I don't know if I might be able to find out on the fly like this. Oh no, what do you guys think about this?

Speaker 1:

We're moving over to Rams Lions.

Speaker 2:

Yes, the Rams, lions. What do you guys think?

Speaker 1:

I love the Rams to cover, maybe to win outright, but I definitely love them to Cover. I feel like this is a major letdown spot for Detroit. Yeah, I think Nakuha and Cup is are gonna have a million yards receiving and then Williams is gonna have a touchdown or two and, I hate to say it, I feel like Dan Campbell is gonna I Don't know do some weird shit. It's gonna bottom the ass like go for fourth, I mean, but they've been doing it all year, so I guess that's recipe that got him there.

Speaker 4:

But Fake points from the run 35.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just some stupid shit. Yeah, I feel like it's a letdown spot. I'm rooting for the Lions. I do hope they win. It's a nice cover for me, but I really like the Rams in this one.

Speaker 4:

Rams plus 140 money line. Yeah, I like the Rams. I'm probably gonna bet him to win. I.

Speaker 2:

Hate to do it too. I just the the Lions man the season they've had. Oh my gosh. You hate to go out like this, but you know people forget they didn't even make the playoffs last year. Here I got the rent. You want me to play the rent on here?

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Can be about it. I care about Stanford.

Speaker 3:

I don't, I don't care about him. I don't ever, ever think about how much I don't care about him. I just sit there, dude, and I just like don't care about him, and I just make sure that I'm always saying I don't care about him, I don't care about Stanford. So, freakin, stop asking me about it. Everyone at work like, oh yeah, here we go. Do you lie for Stanford? I don't. Hey, why are you talking to me about Stanford? He's not my quarterback, not at all. Never has been this season. And it's fine.

Speaker 3:

And I'm telling you right now, right now, and I was like hanging out with golf. I think, oh, get away from us, stanford, I'm not talking to you anymore, man, I'm hanging out with golf right now. That's what I would do, dude. No, no, maybe. So I chill and do just me and golf, like in front of like a sweet Mustang or something, and just like Stanford's like, oh, like I can't hang and I'm like, no, dude, you can't, and you'd be all hurt by it and I don't care, we have Stanford hurt me first. So we're not boys anymore. No, I'm gonna call now, dude, I'm telling you right now I don't.

Speaker 1:

I've never seen that before. That's all.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god, I'm here I'm here, at the perfect Detroit accent.

Speaker 1:

Now, right now, mad I'm hanging with.

Speaker 2:

I don't care, dude, I'm with your golf. Now, man, stop asking me.

Speaker 1:

It's funny when he was gonna say he's never been my quarterback, but he's like he's never. And then he paused and he's like, wow, shit, he has actually before.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's a change what he's saying. Oh my gosh. Yeah, man, that's gotta be so, because it's like that's the average, probably the best quarterback they've ever had, right, like Joey, they obviously love him, like he didn't choose to leave. He got traded, yeah, but they like a lot.

Speaker 5:

Now, man yeah dude.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, bro, you got golfing a golf. Oh man, well, I love the over. I really hope this is the shootout. We need a shootout in one of these games. And you're looking at totals and you're thinking Saturday. I don't know why the Browns Texans games only at 44. To me that's a little suspicious. That came when they played it three weeks ago 36, 22 hit 58. So I don't know how 44 is the total, but I really hope this Rams Lions game is shootout because that'd be so much fun.

Speaker 4:

I agree, this is spread still three and a half yeah well, three, three and a half the hook If you want to have points. Yeah, I still have the whole weekend.

Speaker 2:

I mean, couldn't you just see it like? The Lions are up in the fourth quarter, matt Stafford gets the ball back down For has to lead the Rams on a last-minute touchdown drive no timeouts, two minutes to go. I can't you see it like it's like that. To me that's how this game is gonna go. Like the Rams are gonna get the ball late and they're gonna be down and Matt Stafford is gonna do what he did against the Bucks two years ago. It went on a miracle that he's just gonna break their hearts. It's just gonna happen.

Speaker 1:

Our Michigan ratings are about to Slide a little bit now.

Speaker 2:

I mean Corey's rocking the Michigan shirt Go blue.

Speaker 4:

Go blue. We killed Saban.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean that's what everybody's saying is. They were saying first it was like the Pistons were the sacrifice for the Lions to be good, like the Pistons were garbage, but they've always been garbage. I think Michigan football winning the national championship was like you did this, you don't get both. Now there's no way you get both the Michigan football and the Lions winning playoff games. What?

Speaker 1:

about this? What about strike while the yarn's hot? I mean, look what Tampa Bay did in 2020. It was back to back. It was Kevin Cash in the rays almost went back to back to back. Yeah, yep, I don't know they can see I'm going to make versus curses.

Speaker 2:

Uh, curses lifted people versus broken sconces yeah, yeah, I don't know man Like it's the Lions. I just see this in the most heartbreaking way possible. This is why they're playing the Rams. Like do you really see them being the Rams by two touchdowns and cruising to an easy victory here? Like come on.

Speaker 1:

I can see the Rams doing that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, what's worse if you're a Lions fan? What's worse like not even playing this, like getting destroyed, like the Rams jump on you early, it's never close, they're always up by two scores and you're never even in the game. Or is it worse to have a chance to win the fourth quarter and you'll lose it to past effort?

Speaker 1:

I mean worse.

Speaker 2:

Uh the letter.

Speaker 1:

Three boys talked about it. Yeah, because if you have that hope, the longer you have hope in a game, the worse it hurts when they pull it away. So they're going to pull it away late instead of, you know, with six minutes left in the first quarter.

Speaker 2:

I know, but it's also you could. But if that's the case of your Lions fan, you walk away saying, well, we were right there and we just oh, we just almost had it right. But if you get destroyed and like it's your home playoff game first time in like 30 years, right, and your former quarterback comes in there and then just dominates, you throws for like 400 yards, three touchdowns, and you're not even in the game, that's kind of a worse, because then you're just going to because the Lions fairs are going to leave, because they're like this is the last, this is the who knows what. I'm going to be back here like in a home playoff game. They're not going to leave, they're going to be sitting in the crowd being all sad watching Matt Stafford shred them.

Speaker 1:

I mean Matt Stafford's a good quarterback future, all famous, so losing to him, right.

Speaker 2:

But you'd rather lose at the end of the game, not be over in the first quarter. First half.

Speaker 1:

Well, I mean, it depends on how you want to look at it, Cause if you want to have fun for an hour and a half to two hours, and then it sucks, or if you want to have fun for an hour, it'd be like, well, this really sucks.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, If they do compete and it comes down to the last second, that's probably what their the Lions best playoff performance ever.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Well, I was, did you guys? Did you guys watch the Barry?

Speaker 5:

Sanders documentary Not yet On Amazon. It's really good, it's really good.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Good they actually I forgot they beat the Cowboys in the playoffs. Barry Sanders, third year, that was the last home playoff game they won. They beat Troy Aikman, emmett Smith, those Cowboys before the Cowboys were out, so like at the time people thought it was Lions. Cowboys like these are the two cream of the crop, nfc teams rising up at the same time. The Lions lost, the Cowboys never made it back to playoffs and the Cowboys went on to win three Super Bowls.

Speaker 1:

And then do nothing.

Speaker 2:

And then do nothing after the nineties, yeah.

Speaker 4:

Should have been the Lions.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no.

Speaker 4:

How do you think Lions fans are feeling looking over seeing the nine and eight bucks having a broken Eagles team coming into town and they have to go. They have to face Matt Stafford revenge tour.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, if we're going to segue this to the next game, if I'm the, if I mean the bucks literally could not have gotten a better draw. Like I think you could make an argument that this Eagles team is coming into the playoffs in worse standing than any other team. Maybe the Steelers are worse coming in.

Speaker 1:

Please don't do this.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, are we not going to instill any hope in our fans?

Speaker 1:

I'm trying not to, but I think I've had that same logical progression over the past couple of days and I've just been like, no, I can't, I can't do it.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'll tell you what I'm going to continue to bet on the Eagles, because I've been baiting on the Eagles every week the last five weeks and they've did nothing but losing me money.

Speaker 1:

I've been betting on the Eagles all week.

Speaker 2:

Every day. Wake up, bet on the Eagles bucks.

Speaker 4:

They're on me far away. Yeah, I kind of like the Eagles, to be honest.

Speaker 1:

Now I love the Eagles, oh yeah definitely.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I like the Eagles Get out of here.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to like the Eagles.

Speaker 2:

I mean, well, let's start with this like 10 and a half. I think it's going to be a close game. Is AJ Brown playing? Do we know if he's playing? It's Swift, I think Swift's playing, but I think AJ might actually be out, right.

Speaker 1:

That didn't look good. Live when I saw it. No.

Speaker 2:

They haven't updated AJ.

Speaker 4:

Brown on the injury report.

Speaker 2:

This is saying they're hopeful. Yeah, they've got also Swift Slay, and Devonte Smith is all questionable too, and Hertz so he doesn't have a fracture in his finger. He's day to day. Is it is throwing hand, or is it?

Speaker 1:

all fair, just left, it's left Okay.

Speaker 2:

Wow, can you imagine if we got Mariota? Oh my gosh, we'd probably still lose.

Speaker 1:

Last time I saw Mariota, I'm saying it was 21-0 before we got to our seats.

Speaker 2:

We lost 43-14. Yeah, I mean if the Bucks didn't lose it was a throwing hand. It was a throwing hand.

Speaker 5:

It was a throwing hand, oh really, yeah, I change your guys' pick.

Speaker 1:

I liked Bucks. I really think.

Speaker 2:

We just completely flipped. We're like alright, throwing hand good Bucks, Bucks, all the way.

Speaker 4:

Love Bucks. I've thought about this all week. Nothing's going to change my pick I like Bucks, go Bucks. I don't know how much tickets are.

Speaker 1:

I think I looked.

Speaker 2:

They're around 200 bucks, right 150, 200. If we were going to the game, though, corey like I'd love the Bucks man they'd dominate when we went to that Jags game dude.

Speaker 3:

That was the best.

Speaker 2:

Bucks performance I've seen in decades.

Speaker 4:

I was so disappointed last week Like where'd it go?

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, that's Saints game. Like what the hell Like. How is that the same team?

Speaker 4:

Classic Saints.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, no last week two weeks ago yeah, two weeks ago. But I mean the Saints. You just hate to see it. They finally turn on in the season, do dominant performances, and then they even make the playoffs.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, so up or down. What was it about $100.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's why I think it's 100 for uppers. Y'all should go Get the mojo going.

Speaker 1:

I just I would hate, I just would not want to spend $100 to sit up there or $200. I just rather watch on TV.

Speaker 2:

But here's the thing Do you think Eagles fans are going to go with how upset and frustrated they are with this team?

Speaker 1:

Not as many as I think. If obviously, if they were on role it would be so many, but I still think it's going to have so many. There's just so many Eagles fans in Tampa.

Speaker 2:

Yeah For everywhere, and scans of every team. I mean name it. Like every major team, there's other fans, so many of them. So, if I'm going back, the Eagles haven't won a road game since being the chief some Monday night football in November.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but this is the box in prime time on Monday night football. Yeah for the playoffs.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean 25-11,. That was the score the last time we played. Why did we score a lot? We went for two at the end. Oh wow, so it was 25-3 in the fourth quarter. So yeah, it wasn't even a close game, but this is before Baker was locked in. Yeah, that is true, We've got a different Baker now. Baker's going to play off game.

Speaker 1:

What about our injuries? Is Baker still got his ribs? I hope he saw his ribs. Yeah, he saw his ribs, is there?

Speaker 5:

any pictures? Yeah, so the other game. Well, the first time they played, I guess, was when he was in the middle of the game. Yeah, aj Brown went for a 131, but now he's hurt and he was basically the only receiver. Swift went for a 130, and he's hurt.

Speaker 4:

Yep, nobody's on the injury report right now, except for KJ Britt and some wide receiver.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, AJ.

Speaker 4:

Britt's been awesome. Josh Hayes too. Aj Britt is hurt. Is he playing or no? He'll probably be able to play, I would think.

Speaker 5:

The first time we played Jalen went one touchdown, two in reception. Yeah, I kind of want to go.

Speaker 1:

Dude should do it.

Speaker 2:

Just go back to Eagles. You think this is Lavante's last game. Lavante, is he playing next? Is he in contract for next year or is this his last year?

Speaker 1:

This might be his last year Thought it was.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, I could see them also just running it back next year. Same team, I mean NFC South. I mean we'll see what these coaching vacancies, what happens with the Falcons and the Panthers, but I still see the division sucking for a while. Yeah, lavante was how much of their debt.

Speaker 5:

Money is leaving. What was that about?

Speaker 1:

Lavante. He signed just a one year deal. Yeah, Brady's off the books next year, right? Finally, boom by the mask he caught on us.

Speaker 2:

I mean the same thing without him this year. So suck that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, too busy losing money to new crypto organizations Right.

Speaker 2:

Corey Quick college basketball update. Tennessee just lost to Mississippi State and UCF is beating Kansas for 15 seconds ago.

Speaker 4:

I saw that. Yeah, and I'm about to get off here in a second because Florida is playing.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's the oh. That's why you want to get off. What do we? How are we feeling about Florida tonight? They can get back on track.

Speaker 4:

Maybe it's on the road that I still saw that we were favored. I like Florida even after that loss.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Ole Miss, it's hard to get a read on them because they played nobody in our conference. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Well, I guess that does it for folks. I'm going to say that again Cut that out. That's all. I'm just going to leave that on there.

Speaker 2:

Just leave that one in there. Yeah, this would be crazy if UCF gets their first big 12 win against Kansas.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, All right, hi bro, see it Go.

Speaker 4:

Gators Go big blues.
