[00:01] theheadwrapsocialite B: Good afternoon and welcome to Everybody, the podcast which shares stories that highlight people in life that make the world an interesting place, which ultimately ties us all together in unique and wonderful ways. And who am I, you might ask. I would be the headwrapped socialite, wife, mom, micro influencer in the fashion and etiquette world. But on this podcast, I will be introducing you to some people who I've had the opportunity to meet along my journey, who have helped enrich me and my life in beautiful ways and who I hope will do the same in yours.

[00:45] Angie B.: Transition towards maturity lessons in my great leather office.

[00:50] Angie B.: Ava, Stefan, Nick and Joe. So often you choose to sit in the car and drive with me from errand to errand. Stefan says he just likes to listen to me talk. Ava sits quietly with a bright expression, as if a student consuming my lectures on life. Nick prefers to ask detailed questions about my youth and Joe just seems comfortable with the constant sound.

[01:14] Dr. Carlota Gay: I'm a triathlete. Since 2010, the most I have done is like four in a year, and then I get out on middle of the day or in the afternoon and bike and it's okay. It's like a surviving life jacket for me. It's joy, but also it's my meditation, it's my connection with myself.

[01:34] theheadwrapsocialite B: When you're training, are you listening to music a lot?

[01:37] Dr. Carlota Gay: Heavy metal.

[01:39] theheadrwapsocialite: I'm just going to sit here and just reflect. You dropped a lot of jewels. A lot of jewels.

[01:45] Frank D. Aka: Pop-Pop: When I went in the morning pool down in North Carolina, I couldn't swim, so they didn't make me go to seminary Friday. Everybody else go on liberty. I'd be just trying to swim. So this black boy from Philly, me and him prepared for twin, but he had a gold teeth, that's all he could tell us. And he took the swimming test for me and I didn't have to go anymore.

[02:09] Wesley C.: And I always wanted to come back here and play soccer and learn English. And God was just moving his mysterious ways and open doors when back in 2005, I got an invitation from a university in Oklahoma where they offered me scholarship so I could come to the US. Play soccer, learn English. And the combination was like my perfect dream. So that's when I decided to come over here. I can say that was the best decision of my life. We are so happy now that Ryan's here with us. He was born in February. Healthy baby, beautiful. And life has just taught us so much. Being a parent, it's like the joy of my life. It's so amazing having a baby, somebody that God is trusting you full time, 100% of the time, that I have the opportunity to teach him everything that I was taught one day and everything that I've been doing throughout my life, through the work with the youth, and now I have my own. And it's being of course, an adjustment, because it's a lot of work, but it's just like trying to understand what God has just taught for us and believing it and trusting that he's always going to come through.

[03:45] Angie B.: And I think to be grateful to people who are maybe different from ourselves, but offering much more than we have to offer.

[03:54] theheadrwapsocialite: I'm thinking of some words in my head.

[03:55] Jonah M. : A word association.

[03:58] theheadrwapsocialite: Wait a minute.

[03:59] Jonah M. : I get in that mental state. Okay, I'm ready.

[04:00] theheadrwapsocialite: Okay, word association.

[04:02] Jonah M. : Is it one word or multiple words?

[04:04] theheadrwapsocialite: Okay, so, okay, we're going a mental telepathy word association. Am I going to think of a word? You think of something.

[04:11] Jonah M. : Just is it one word or multiple words? That's all I got to know.

[04:14] theheadrwapsocialite: Okay, it's going to be one word.

[04:17] Jonah M. : Okay, one word. Okay, I'm going to add a hyphen.

[04:21] theheadrwapsocialite: In there to you can add a hyphen. Okay, it could be multiple words.

[04:24] Jonah M. : Okay, I'll try. Keep it on one.

[04:26] theheadrwapsocialite: Okay.

[04:27] theheadwrapsocialite B: Sound music.

[04:29] theheadrwapsocialite: Oh, that's exactly what I was thinking.

[04:32] Jonah M. : I bet you were thinking sound and music.

[04:36] theheadrwapsocialite: That's exactly what I was thinking. I told you it could have been multiple words. That was my word. That is crazy. But no, joan, I thank you for being here on this podcast.

[04:45] Jonah M. : Thank you. It was a great opportunity for me, too.

[04:47] theheadrwapsocialite: Yeah.

[04:48] Jonah M. : To impart my wisdom on you. That you impart back on me.

[04:51] theheadrwapsocialite: Yeah. And how about once you're done college, we can see where your journey has taken you?

[04:56] Jonah M. : Sure.

[04:56] theheadrwapsocialite: So we'll report back here in a few years.

[04:58] Jonah M. : Three years.

[04:59] theheadrwapsocialite: No, two years if you're going into sophomore year. Yeah. Okay. We don't really count sophomore year.

[05:05] Jonah M. : What?

[05:06] theheadrwapsocialite: Yeah.

[05:06] Jonah M. : I didn't even start a day of school. One year into two into three, it's going to be three years. Come on, man.

[05:12] theheadrwapsocialite: Sorry, I never said I was good at math. You should have said calculus. Maybe that could have been a okay, you later.

[05:20] Jonah M. : Okay.

[05:21] theheadrwapsocialite: Love you, kid.
