ACC CIVICS LAB
In an effort to highlight civically orientated careers for Austin Community College students, the ACC Civics Lab has initiated a series of interview-based podcasts where those currently engaged in civic careers can discuss their professions and paths. Ultimately, we see this as simultaneously the last and first step in the process where professionals can communicate observations of their career paths, and ACC students can access stories which can help jumpstart their passions into careers. This initiative will prioritize spotlighting a variety of speakers from diverse backgrounds and career paths, while simultaneously prioritizing ACC alumni and community members. We firmly believe that through guidance and tangible stories, along with relevant information and potential mentorship provided by the ACC Civics Lab, Austin Community College's students will be in a position of strength when starting or rebooting their careers. Furthermore, the ACC Civics Lab aims for these short interviews to also serve as a resource available for ACC faculty and as educationally entertaining content for a general audience.
