Speaker 2Whoa what, it's really high up.
Speaker 1I'm Paul, I'm, I'm.
Speaker 2What.
Speaker 1I was gonna say I'm tall, but then I said so I'm tall, but then I said so I'm Paul hi Paul. I'm so, paul, you are Paul. Yeah, you could be Paul yeah, oh my goodness, what that means we started oh no, matias, you started without me yeah, I'm, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2Oh gosh, I'm not ready.
Speaker 1I'm starting now, because I already did that.
Speaker 2You already started.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2I guess we're starting.
Speaker 1Yeah, Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Paul.
Speaker 2And I'm Mattias.
Speaker 1And Lauren's not here this week. No, and Lauren's not here this week. No.
Speaker 2And Mattias lost his voice. We are the hosties.
Speaker 1A rope.
Speaker 2The roasty, toasty, ghosty hosties. Yeah, we are Of rope.
Speaker 1I like that. That, yeah, we are Of rope. Rope, I like that, that's what I said Rope, not of Roasty Toasty Ghosty, it's just of rope.
Speaker 2Rope, if we were going to shorten the title.
Speaker 1RTG yeah.
Speaker 2It would be rope Rope. You have to say rope Rope With like a long R. Rope Rope. You have to say rope Rope With like a long R Rope. Yeah, that's it. We came here to say that, yeah, and.
Speaker 1And we're done.
Speaker 2We're done. I have nothing else to say here.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2I think that covers everything.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2All right.
Speaker 1All right.
Speaker 2That was a short one. Yeah, short one. Yeah, it's like three and a half minutes I can work with that yeah, you can make 40 minutes out of that my name is Lauren oh yeah, and I am Matthias Lauren Lauren Lauren.
Speaker 1I'm not doing this again. No, no, no. We already did the joke and it's not funny anymore. Not funny, I know, I know.
Speaker 2Stop making fun of me.
Speaker 1Yeah, people were making fun of you at work today.
Speaker 2People do that.
Speaker 1It was funny.
Speaker 2No, it wasn't.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2I didn't think it was funny.
Speaker 1No, you tried to speak Swedish.
Speaker 2And I mispronounced a word and everyone started to laugh at me and I got really embarrassed. So then, naturally I get angry.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Fine, you know, never mind, I'm not doing this.
Speaker 1Hmm, reminds me of someone you, oh yeah, yeah, forgot about that person.
Speaker 2Yeah, that person, I have a story. I thought it was kind of funny. There was a girl who was trying to clock out.
Speaker 2We had, you know, the passwords at the time and she had her password in front of her and she pushes the caps lock and then she does her uppercase and then she's like I'm going to do the rest of it now too. It was like you know, you don't have to have caps lock on all the time, you can push the shift button, because it was only the one letter that had to be capitalized yeah she's like I don't get it. I don't get it. It's like you're younger than me yeah, you should know how to use a keyboard.
Speaker 2She's like I'm really bad with computers, no kidding you don't know how to do a capital letter on a keyboard. It's just it doesn't make sense to me. Keyboard it just it doesn't make sense to me. I mean, I've seen it before at home, my dad, okay.
Speaker 1Well, that's different he's older, this is a younger girl, yeah, yeah, he's like uh, caps lock and first letter and caps lock off and the rest of the stop you don't have to do that.
Speaker 2The girl addicted to Word documents in me is panicking. Like freaking out Like what is wrong with you?
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Caps lock only if you have to like. Capitalize the entire sentence or word yeah, that's what you do If it's more than a few letters, then you caps lock, Otherwise just push the shift button. Yeah Damn.
Speaker 1And I don't know if it happened to you, but you know, when you have caps lock on and you forget about it and you're going to write something, and you push the shift button, so everything is, you know, inverted, so it's lowercase and then uppercase the rest.
Speaker 2Like screaming yeah.
Speaker 1Like lowercase m uppercase atias, Atias.
Speaker 2Sorry, I had to go off on that because I thought it was kind of funny okay, it's funny not funny yeah, maybe I'll use someone, good luck squeezing that in in a way that doesn't feel random yeah, how are you? You know what I'm good you are.
Speaker 1How are you? Uh, I'm good, you are. How are you? I'm good, very good, awesome, are you tired?
Speaker 2I'm okay at the moment, good, and we're going to stay being good.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Or else I'm going to get up and I'm going to go to bed.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Yeah, and then you'll have to stay here because I'm not driving you home.
Speaker 1Or you can walk home. That's up to you.
Speaker 2How do you want this to go?
Speaker 1I'm staying here.
Speaker 2How was your week?
Speaker 1It was good. Well, it started a little bit iffy, Maybe not the best Since I. I mean, I felt a bit ashamed and I want to bring that up.
Speaker 2Okay, bring that up.
Speaker 1Okay, uh, because last week when we had the podcast, the episode last week right, I was very rude to you during the recording. You, um, you fixed it you can't tell no, exactly you can't tell, but you fixed it, you cut it. I think you cut it out of the outtakes even. Yeah, I yeah, that's such a stupid way of acting and I don't know what it was if I was stressed or I was just stupid, and I want to apologize for that. Just to be sincere for a minute.
Speaker 2Just a minute, yeah, okay.
Speaker 1Then I'm gonna start being rude again, okay, and then I'm gonna go to bed and you can finish this yourself.
Speaker 2Yeah, okay, then I'm going to start being rude again. Okay, and then I'm going to go to bed and you can finish this yourself. Yeah, thank you, I appreciate it.
Movie Nights and Jackie Chan Celebrations
Speaker 1But I think it's something, and also now I'm cutting you off.
Speaker 2I didn't really know what I was going to say anyway, so you're not really cutting anything off. Okay, you can cut out my butt if you want no, that's not what I meant.
Speaker 1I said the word, but yeah, you can cut that yes, um, I now I forgot what I was going to say.
Speaker 2Well, you interrupted me kind of.
Speaker 1Yes, I think that I must get better at controlling my emotions, because I am not emotionless like we thought.
Speaker 2No, you have frustration in you.
Speaker 1I do For some reason yeah.
Speaker 2I'm going to get that out of you.
Speaker 1One day I'm going to get to the bottom of this.
Speaker 2What are you frustrated about?
Speaker 1Yeah, other than me. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1You knowing more Jackie Chan things than I do I don't no, but when I feel like you do. That was the reason last week.
Speaker 2Because you thought that I knew more than you. Yeah, for a second.
Speaker 1You knew one word that.
Speaker 2I didn't, oh no, oh, my God. No, I came up with the word that you ended up coming up with just a little earlier than you did. Yeah, sorry.
Speaker 1You still came up with the word.
Speaker 2I didn't even tell you it.
Speaker 1No, I know.
Speaker 2You got mad over a word, matias.
Speaker 1I don't know. I think it was other things too. You know, back there, I don't know if I, if I was stressed, or I think you were frustrated from the beginning of the recording yeah and it was just building yeah, uh probably for some reason, I don't even know why no, but stupid. That's what I was yeah, that's right. Yeah, we can agree.
Speaker 2Yes, we can.
Speaker 1About that. So maybe we should be a little bit more entertaining now.
Speaker 2Can we move on from this?
Speaker 1Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2Okay, are you?
Speaker 1ready to move on? No, I'm not Move on.
Speaker 2I'm ready to move on, but. I'm not ready for movies yet. No, but I'm not ready for movies yet.
Speaker 1No, just move on from the drama.
Speaker 2Drama TS. Drama TS.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's what we call me when I'm like that. What happened last weekend?
Speaker 2Last weekend we celebrated Jackie Chan. We did, because he had a birthday on Sunday. Yes, so we celebrated by watching his documentaries. Yes, we watched the one watching his documentaries.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2We watched the one about his movies on Saturday, and then you played Jackie Chan Adventures on the PlayStation.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Old game.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But you've beaten it before.
Speaker 1Yes, I have A few times.
Speaker 2I tried playing, but I was just wasting time so I was like you do it. You already knew what to do. So, it was fine watching. Okay, yeah, and then what?
Speaker 1So we were watching. On Saturday we were watching Jackie Chan my Story, and that was about his younger life, I mean when he grew up, and about his earlier movies and stuff. What did you think about that one?
Speaker 2It was good, very interesting.
Speaker 1I think so too. Yeah, and I liked the game and yeah, you barely got to try it.
Speaker 2It was fun to watch.
Speaker 1Yeah, you didn't really want to either, right, since you said you better do it or you do it. That's what you said.
Speaker 2That's what I said.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, on Sunday we were watching Jackie Chan. My Stunts.
Speaker 2I like that one. That one was really interesting.
Speaker 1That's the better one. I like them both, but that's really good, and you know to get to know how he all the stuff Stunts and fight scenes, how he choreographed, how he edit everything.
Speaker 2Well, maybe not everything, but a lot of things, like they broke down the fight scenes, how they're choreographed.
Speaker 1yeah, yeah and how what kind of perfectionist he is yeah when it comes to a fight scene, I mean it's important yeah, it's one if. If you're an inch too close to the camera or anything like that, it has to be exactly perfect. The way.
Speaker 2Yeah, you can mess the whole thing up.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then it's just not as good.
Speaker 1No, exactly that's cool, but it's A lot of takes are needed.
Speaker 2Mm.
Speaker 1Sometimes, and then we played an older game, but it's new to me because I recently bought it.
Speaker 2Funny story yeah, to me because I recently bought it.
Speaker 1Funny story, yeah, funny story is that it doesn't work on my PlayStation 2. It's called Jackie Chan, stuntmaster, stuntmaster, and, yeah, I'm British.
Speaker 2Master.
Speaker 1Master, and yeah, I mean it was fun, but it was also frustrating. But maybe that's because I never played it before and had to redo it over and over again.
Speaker 2As you have to do sometimes in games, yeah, so yeah, I think it was fun though. Yeah.
Speaker 1The characters look like cardboard boxes. It was kind, though, yeah, the characters looked like cardboard boxes.
Speaker 2It was kind of funny.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, I think the graphics in the other game, jackie Chan Adventures, work better, since it's a cartoon.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So I guess it's easier to make a game like that probably. I don't know but and also it's like four years newer True. Yeah, so I didn't dislike that game, but I liked the other one better, but that's because I know exactly what to do. Anything else, I don't think so.
Speaker 2That was the weekend.
Speaker 1Yeah, and Jackie turned 70 years old.
Speaker 2Yeah, Very cool. This week we celebrated our three years of movie nights.
Speaker 1Oh yes, we did.
Speaker 2We've been watching movies for three years and we've got like 10 more to go.
Speaker 1Yeah, At least Not 10 movies more.
Speaker 2No, not 10 years Years yeah, of movie nights, yeah, At least.
Speaker 1That's a few movies.
Speaker 2Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1That's like 104 times 10,. Right, it's 52 weeks.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And we watched two movies.
Speaker 2Times 10. Yeah, 1, watched two movies.
Speaker 1Times 10. Yeah, 1,040.
Speaker 2That's a lot of movies.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, wow, okay.
Speaker 1And I'm no expert, well, kind of, but I don't know. But I have a slight feeling that they might make more movies as we go.
Speaker 2Then we're going to have to make up for those in 10 years.
Speaker 1Yeah. So who knows, maybe we will watch movies that aren't made yet.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1As well.
Speaker 2Not made right now, but they'll be made then.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Right, okay.
Speaker 1In the span of 10 years.
Speaker 2They might make another movie. Yeah, I Right. Okay, in the span of 10 years they might make another movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think so. I think I heard something about that. We're going to make one movie In 10 years, in 10 years, somewhere.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's going to take 10 years to make this movie. It better be good yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, so be good, yeah, uh, yeah so.
Speaker 2But that first movie night I kind of intertwine it with when we sealed the bestie-ness yeah so it's been three years of being besties yes very cool yeah, the first movies we watched was the terminators one, 1 and 2.
Speaker 1Yeah, very good movies.
Speaker 2I liked them. They were good.
Speaker 1Yeah, the second one is better, if you ask me.
Speaker 2How do you feel about being my bestie for three years?
Speaker 1Very good, Good and I guess, as besties, we're gonna have like drama and oh yeah, fights. Well, it just goes with the territory yeah, the thing is, though, I'm the only one fighting I'm just kind of taking it yeah, you never do any kind of resistance I don't fight back that much. No, not, not when it's me, I think you might fight other people more than you?
Speaker 2Yeah, definitely. I really don't want to say something that I would regret.
Speaker 1Yeah, well, I do, I do yeah.
Speaker 2I don't want to be like you.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2I'm sorry, that was kind of mean. See, that was kind of mean.
Speaker 1That was one sentence and you said I'm sorry, I don't want to be like you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, don't cry, I can't cry.
Speaker 2You can, you did cry.
Speaker 1You cried this week yeah, one tear.
Speaker 2You pushed out a tear.
Speaker 1Yeah, from one eye, the other side.
Speaker 2It was a milestone. Yeah, I was a milestone.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm very proud. It was the eye on your side.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm On my side. Yeah, that doesn't make sense to anyone. No, it was the eyeball that was closest to me.
Speaker 1Yeah, at the table, you're on my right side.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And it was my right eye that cried.
Speaker 2Do you think that has any meaning?
Speaker 1No, I think it was just random.
Speaker 2Okay, it was the dominant eye. Domino eye Dominant. I said dominant, not domino eye, no, but.
Speaker 1I was thinking domino eye.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1Doesn't make any sense. No, it doesn't and that's matthias for you. Okay, so the week did you like the week was it good?
Speaker 2I don't know. First you were being dramatic and then I got kicked to death, so I don't know oh yeah, I didn't do any it the kicking, it wasn't you no.
Funny Stories and Movie Reviews
Speaker 2No, I'm going to tell you a fun story. So during the week there was one morning when I was laying in bed with my life partner and I was like half awake and my life partner rolls over and starts kicking me out of nowhere and I thought he was just messing around, which was really weird anyway, because we were sleeping, but I don't know, maybe it at first it felt like a little footsie foot playing at first, and then, um, it started getting a little harder.
Speaker 2So I was like, okay, he's just playing with me. And then he starts kicking really hard and he starts going for my knee and I don't know if anyone's ever listened to this podcast, but I have problems with my knees so I was like I don't think, so why are you kicking me? And he wakes up a bit and he's like oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry and continue kicking. No, no, he stopped kicking. Kick, I'm sorry, kick, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1No, I just have to. I'm not done yet I like beating you up.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, apparently he was dreaming that he was chasing after a giant, hairy troll monster thing and the only way to kill it was to kick it in the chest five times really hard, and somehow it became physical and he was kicking me instead.
Speaker 1He missed the chest.
Speaker 2He missed the chest, he got my knees and I didn't like it, but it was funny. Yeah, that was that story. I don't have any more funny stories. Matias, would you like to move you on? Okay, yeah today we watched. I don't know why I have to do these pauses. I think it's just to think of the words that I'm gonna say um dramatic pauses it's for dramatic effect yeah today we watched enter the dragon and the wizard of oz. Yeah, yeah, that's right and a bonus movie and fistful of yen yeah cool very cool Cool.
Speaker 2Very cool, very cool. So our Jackie Chan journey is I guess not quite over. No, I mean Jackie was in this movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, for A couple seconds. Yeah.
Speaker 2Not consecutively, but I said that word.
Speaker 1Yeah, I heard it. Yeah, it was cool, mm-hmm.
Speaker 2I could never. I don't think. I'll try again. No, yeah Was cool, mm-hmm, I could never. I don't think.
Speaker 1I'll try again. No, I mean, I think you're the only one who can say it.
Speaker 2Probably.
Speaker 1There's only one, lauren.
Speaker 2Yeah, there is.
Speaker 1No one else.
Speaker 2No one else this named.
Speaker 1Lauren, only one.
Speaker 2It's just me.
Speaker 1Yeah, and you're the one who can say that word.
Speaker 2Just the one time, though. I'm not doing it again. No, that was a rare moment.
Speaker 1Yeah, you don't want to spoil the audience.
Speaker 2I made history.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I said a word.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's going to be the history lesson the history of when Lauren said A word, a word.
Speaker 2I'm going to talk about enter the dragon.
Speaker 1Yes, even though I already kind of started this movie has bruce lee and jackie james. Yeah, yeah, he's the. Uh, like the second billing, or?
Speaker 2yeah, I think so. He's the supporting actor. Yeah, no, he's not, he's an extra it's like a buddy cop yeah bruce lee and jackie chan.
Speaker 1Oh, could you believe that?
Speaker 2no, it's too bad, that'll never happen yeah in this movie, bruce lee is bruce lee and he, uh uh, is on a mission. I guess I don't really know, yeah, what happened here, okay, but he's, he saved a woman from this bad guy, and the bad guy does bad things, and then bruce lee beats up the bad guys, and I think that's what happened.
Speaker 1Yeah, generally, yeah, almost Almost. Yeah, was I wrong? No, are you going to say I was wrong? No, but you left some things out.
Speaker 2I'm going to say that.
Speaker 1So so I'm not saying you're wrong, so you're right.
Speaker 2Thank you, that's all that matters. What did you think of him?
Speaker 1I like this movie the bad guy. He has his own island full of other bad guys who's like minions to him, it's called Bad Guy Island. Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And the bad guy is called Mr Han.
Speaker 2Which was also Jackie's character in the remake of Karate Kid.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Is that a coincidence, or is that on purpose?
Speaker 1I think it's a coincidence, I think it's on purpose. Yeah, maybe I don't know.
Speaker 2I don't know. I'm sure there's many other characters in the world named Mr Han.
Speaker 1Yeah, consul Han.
Speaker 2Yeah, maybe.
Speaker 1Oh, and I'm going to be nerdy. Can I be nerdy?
Speaker 2I guess, just a short period of time, be a nerd.
Speaker 1Okay, so the guy playing Consul Han in Rush Hour, he plays the bad guy in a movie called Rapid Fire, which stars Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee. That's cool, it's a good movie.
Speaker 2You're a nerd.
Speaker 1I am. I'm not ashamed of that.
Speaker 2No, I'm proud of you for being a nerd.
Speaker 1Thank you, I'm okay with that, thank you yeah, no, okay, we're gonna talk about Enter the Dragon now.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And speaking of Rush Hour, by the way it's the same composer that did both this movie and Rush Hour, and did you notice that the themes are kind of similar?
Speaker 2I'm not sure if I was listening.
Speaker 1Ah, okay, sorry, I thought you would be listening, since I I probably should have, since you mentioned it? Yeah, and I still didn't listen. I mentioned it before. Yeah, so that you could.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah, yeah, but the I also had people around me. That is true that were distracting and I was really trying to watch the movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, I wasn't really listening to the music. Sometimes you fell asleep.
Speaker 2That was later.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was.
Speaker 2I did not. I did not fall asleep, I closed my eyes and then.
Speaker 1I fell asleep. Yeah, you blinked, yeah, for really long.
Speaker 2It was a long blink. Yeah, you don't do long blinks.
Speaker 1Sometimes Fantasy movies, yeah, but no, jackie Chan. No, because it's jackie chan he keeps fantasy he keeps my eyes open because I want to see jackie chan. I'm a big fan, if you didn't know I don't know. No, I'm questioning it yeah, I couldn't even come up with a word you're so dumb I know why do we leave? Why a?
Speaker 2word. Why a word? Why would that set you off?
Speaker 1Because I'm stupid. No, I'm dumb.
Speaker 2Yeah. There's a difference Dumb isn't as bad.
Speaker 1What did I think about this movie?
Speaker 2You liked it.
Speaker 1I liked it. You said that Okay, do I Do, I Do, I Do, I do, I Do, I Do, I Do. I have anything else to say about this movie?
Speaker 2Oh boy, you have things to say.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's directed by Robert Robert. Robert Broby, it's directed by a robot In a robe, ew. Oh, I guess it's okay if it by a robot In a robe, Ew.
Speaker 2Oh, I guess it's okay if it's a robot. Yeah, ew, ew no.
Speaker 1Robert Klaus.
Speaker 2Is it Klaus or Klaus?
Speaker 1Klaus.
Speaker 2Robert.
Speaker 1Klaus Santa.
Speaker 2He's even.
Speaker 1Santa did it. He's called Santa, sometimes Santa Claus. It's directed by.
Speaker 2Santa. Claus, yeah, probably.
Speaker 1Who also directed Battle Creek Brawl. Oh my god.
Speaker 2Are you saying that Jackie met Santa Claus?
Speaker 1Yeah. That's amazing, all right, yeah, anyway, the opening scene of this movie has Sammo Hung in it.
Speaker 2Oh, that's right, he was small. Yeah, he was smaller than you.
Speaker 1Yeah, he wasn't as fat back then, he was kind of chunky he was getting a little round. Yeah, he was rounding up, but Rounding out, yeah, but yeah, he got bigger.
Speaker 2He did. That's okay. We like him the way he is.
Speaker 1We like him a lot.
Speaker 2A lot.
Speaker 1Yeah, maybe not more than Jackie, but More than Jackie you do. No, I don't, it's okay if you do, because I really like him. If you like him more than Jackie, maybe you should watch the TV series Mashallah.
Speaker 2Oh, okay.
Speaker 1With Sammo Hung. It's very good Okay.
Speaker 2Is it Chinese's? Very good, okay, is it Chinese?
Speaker 1It's American.
Speaker 2Okay, so he speaks English.
Speaker 1He speaks English.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1But he has a heavy accent.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm Okay.
Speaker 1So not just his body, it's his accent too.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1But yeah, Back to the movie.
Speaker 2Yeah, did you say what you thought about? The movie I did enjoy this movie um. Bruce lee likes to scream yeah yeah, it was kind of funny and there was this one scene with the mirrors yeah I thought that was really cool and really well done.
Speaker 1It was. Yeah, I mean, it must be difficult to film that.
Speaker 2With mirrors.
Speaker 1Yeah, how do you?
Speaker 2not get the camera, then yeah, exactly. I don't know. And what year was this?
Speaker 173.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was very well done, though, yeah.
Speaker 1Do we have more to say about this movie?
Speaker 2I probably should have had something more to say, but I don't think I do. Oh, wow.
Speaker 1Can we move this here? I'm sorry, I was itchy. Yeah, it's okay.
Speaker 2Don't get mad at me for being itchy.
Speaker 1I'm so mad.
Speaker 2I'm going to go to bed now, yeah okay, bye. Bye those were your footsteps, not mine. Shut up.
Speaker 1Did you leave? Shut up. You're in bed, okay, so we're Yay. Can you shut up? Okay, so we're alone. Yeah, yeah, I moved the microphone into her bedroom. Oh, and here's her life partner too. He's not well.
Speaker 2What were you going to say?
Speaker 1I was going to say, should we move on to the other movie?
Speaker 2What other movie.
Speaker 1The Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 2Yes, please tell me a bad summary of Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 1Okay, it's about a girl and her dog and she Okay, there's bad weather, you know cyclone, Is that what it's called?
Speaker 2It's not just a tornado.
Speaker 1Tornado. I think they said cyclone in the movie, but I yeah it's a tornado, it's a twister.
Speaker 2Twista.
Speaker 1Twista.
Speaker 2Twista.
Speaker 1Yes, and her whole house is in the twister and she goes to another place like a magical place. That's Oz, right?
Speaker 2I think so.
Speaker 1And there she finds three special characters, friends, and she needs to find a way to get back home to Kansas. And that's really what the movie is about. Her special friends want things too. One needs a brain, one needs a heart and one needs courage. Yeah, yeah, I'm not going to spoil anything more than that.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, you probably shouldn't.
Speaker 1There's also a bad witch in it.
Speaker 2There's also a good witch.
Speaker 1And a good witch? Yes, and a wizard.
Speaker 2Yeah, who knew. Flying monkeys.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And munchkins.
Speaker 1Munchkins. I was thinking what were they called Dumplings?
Speaker 2No, I don't think they're dumplings, they're munchkins.
Speaker 1Munchkins. I know, I know.
Speaker 2Dumplings.
Speaker 1The dumplings of Oz.
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 1That's my movie. I'm gonna make that movie.
Speaker 2The Dumplings of Oz? Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1Have you ever seen the sequel to the Wizard of?
Speaker 2Oz. I didn't know there was a sequel.
Speaker 1Yeah, I heard, it's really weird.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And it was released in the 80s, so it's not the same actress, obviously.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1But same actors at all what I know. But it's weird. I heard and I think there was quite a bit of the druggies there when they wrote that movie. Is that something you want to watch?
Speaker 2I don't know, probably not.
Speaker 1So I'm gonna put it on the list for some other time.
Speaker 2But, I just no, yeah, exactly Okay.
Speaker 1We'll see.
Speaker 2But it was your first time seeing this one.
Speaker 1Yeah, I've seen clips of it.
Speaker 2This was the one from 1939. 39. Did you already say that?
Speaker 1I don't think so.
Speaker 2Okay, the one with Judy Garland.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2So what did you think?
Speaker 1It's amazing. I really love the visuals Great effects for the time, really cool and I love when she's in Oz and all the pretty colors and everything and I love the characters. The songs are great. Okay, my favorite song is probably somewhere over the rainbow yeah, yeah I mean, and that's the song I know since before, and also this song I was, you know, singing along to or humming along to, um, but yeah, somewhere over the rainbow. That's the title, right yeah yeah.
Speaker 1What do you think about this movie, since you have seen it more than I have?
Speaker 2I have probably seen it a couple times yeah when I was a lot younger, but watching it today gave me a new perspective on the movie yeah re-watching it yes watching the entire thing and, yeah, with what I know now, it came out really good if did you like it as a kid I mean I don't know if I really liked it no it was something that was necessary to watch, feels like.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2But I want you to think like this okay, yeah, movies started becoming a thing and started really developing around. What 1870, 1880,- maybe.
Speaker 1Yeah, you know more than me about that.
Movie Chats and Self-Reflection
Speaker 2Okay, maybe you know more than me about that. Okay, so if you think about it, making movies was 50, 60 years or so yeah around there. I mean like full length movies yeah so within that time, they found a way to make these special effects which I don't, don't know. It feels pretty crazy.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then now it's been like well over a hundred years and it's come really far.
Speaker 1Yeah, it has, but still. I mean some effects today looks worse than they did in earlier years.
Speaker 2Yeah, sometimes.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2But yeah, I just wanted to put that little seed in.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I like the movie though. It is really good it is. It has inspired. A lot.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, okay. So, uh, do you have a favorite song? I mean, I guess I'm gonna agree with you yeah somewhere over the rainbow yeah, do you have a favorite character?
Speaker 2uh, I haven't really thought of that okay, I absolutely have a fair character probably the dog, oh yeah I like toto I, I've, I was so, you know, not curious.
Speaker 1But, um, yeah, about the dog, but what the dog thought about the I mean the dog when they shot the movie and he's like what the heck is this?
Speaker 2what's's going on? Yeah, what are these things?
Speaker 1Why are they singing and dancing? And I don't get it.
Speaker 2What's happening? I don't get it. Can I quit?
Speaker 1Am I high? Yeah, no, my favorite character is the lion.
Speaker 2He was funny.
Speaker 1Very funny. Oh, absolutely my favorite character in this movie. Very funny. Yeah, hands down, Hands down.
Speaker 2Okay, okay.
Speaker 1Listen to me, put your hands down, fine, okay, are we done with this movie?
Speaker 2I think so.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then we watched A Fistful of Yen, which was pretty much Enter the Dragon, except a lot funnier.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And it was Wizard of Oz at the end.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was a parody of both the movies.
Speaker 2Yeah, very funny.
Speaker 1It was very funny, yeah it was a parody of both the movies. Yeah, very funny.
Speaker 2It was very funny yeah.
Speaker 1I love that one Only like 30 minutes. That's a good length for a bonus movie.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I'd say yeah.
Speaker 2So, Is there anything else you have to say?
Speaker 1About that movie, about anything.
Speaker 2Literally anything. Okay, I have to say About that movie, about anything, literally anything.
Speaker 1Okay, I have to say something about that movie. Okay, a Fistful of Yen. It's from the guys who made Top Secret, the very funny movie.
Speaker 2It is a very funny movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, that we watched with a guest who did not like that movie. Time to start a war. I know you're listening.
Speaker 2All right.
Speaker 1You didn't like a movie that I like.
Speaker 2We're going to go take a break, and we will. I'm not even going to ask. I decide now. We are taking a break.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2So you can calm down oh yeah, what is it called? That's your fist.
Speaker 1Clinching my fists. You're clenching, clenching, cleansing my fists.
Speaker 2You're cleansing your fists.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2All right, you're going to sanitize it first.
Speaker 1Yeah, then. Then I'm going to clench it okay interesting yeah we will be right back yeah, goodbye, bye and we're back again. What do we have today?
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 1What are we doing today, Matthias? What are you looking at?
Speaker 2I don't know the wall.
Speaker 1Okay, the wall the wall. You want to sing?
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1You want to rap?
Speaker 2Was I supposed to rap?
Speaker 1Maybe Do you have a rap in mind.
Speaker 2No, nothing original.
Speaker 1No, you can't do like the, you know, improvised rap.
Speaker 2No, I can't.
Speaker 1I cannot either. I mean, how can they do that?
Speaker 2I don't know, I can't do it.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2It's too bad.
Speaker 1It's impressive. It is the people that can do that.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1People not like us who can't do that.
Speaker 2I'm a fan of rap battles, so it's very cool yeah.
Speaker 1I mean, I'm not the biggest fan of rap, but I do think it's impressive, although you know it's not my cup of tea, but yeah, still it's impressive. Yeah, I couldn't do that. I can't. Even if I have, you know, lyrics or anything, I couldn't rap anyways.
Speaker 2Yeah, I stumble a lot, yeah, when I try.
Speaker 1Yeah, so no, it's very impressive. It doesn't sound that difficult when you hear it.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1But when you try it, it is difficult. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2What are we?
Speaker 1doing. We have been talking and we are going to continue talking. I think it's your turn to continue talking.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1What do you want to talk about?
Speaker 2We have to have something.
Speaker 1Pokemon.
Speaker 2You want to talk about Pokemon. I saw one one yeah, there's a pikachu behind me. Pikachu, are you mad? Yet? Probably you want to start a fight?
Speaker 1sure okay okay, do you want to fight? No oh yeah, we were talking about you yelling at me I don't want to yell at you no, but you can get that out of your head and just lay it on me.
Speaker 2I have nothing to complain about. You're perfect.
Speaker 1No, I can help you.
Speaker 2Okay, go ahead. We're going to talk about the bad things about Matias. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1I'm stubborn, I'm childish, I'm fat, I don childish, I'm fat.
Speaker 2I don't care. No, that doesn't affect me.
Speaker 1No, but it's still true.
Speaker 2It's not really a con for me.
Speaker 1Okay, oh, you want me to be fatter.
Speaker 2No, no, well, I don't care no.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2For your sake, no.
Speaker 1Please chime in with something. I know you have something. I see it on your face.
Speaker 2Okay, yeah, say it no, but I don't want you getting upset.
Speaker 1If I can promise I'm not going to be upset.
Speaker 2Can you though? Yeah, you're spoiled.
Speaker 1I am.
Speaker 2Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1That's it. I don't have it Spoiled, that's it.
Speaker 2I'm sorry.
Speaker 1No, I'm like just one word.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I was expecting more.
Speaker 2I want to say selfish, but I can't really complain about that because I'm also pretty selfish.
Speaker 1Yeah, we're selfish.
Speaker 2We're both selfish and we clash.
Speaker 1Stubborn. I think we're kind of stubborn both of us oh yeah, I'm definitely and what was the other word I said? Fat yeah, that too wow, okay no, uh, childish. Yeah, okay, maybe I'm a bit more childish than you are, but then again people say that it's a good thing having the sense of child. I mean, I can be childish. Yeah, you can be.
Speaker 2It's helpful for when I'm working with kids.
Speaker 1Yeah, do you want to say more words about me? It's okay, and I mean, even if it applies to you, you can still say it about me, and I really don't take offense.
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 1No, because I mean all the words said about me. I've heard them before, it's nothing new.
Speaker 2I don't want to be one of them. No, I mean against you in any way.
Speaker 1No, I mean, it's my friends that have been saying that to me. I am your friend. Yeah, exactly, I've been called all these words by my friends and I think that's a thing. Friends should be able to say that to one another. Hey, that's over the line, I know.
Speaker 2What your?
Speaker 1stomach just said.
Speaker 2Well, my stomach has more nerves than I do Now.
Speaker 1I'm mad. Okay, this is taking too long. Impatient yes that's the word I was waiting for. Okay, okay, this is good, good, I mean, I'm so proud of you.
Speaker 2Even when you don't have to be impatient, you end up being impatient anyway.
Speaker 1Yeah, so.
Speaker 2You have literally no reason to be impatient, but you are.
Speaker 1Why can't I be impatient?
Speaker 2Because when I'm editing you don't have to be worried about the time.
Speaker 1No, but what if I want to come home sooner?
Speaker 2No, that's a no, you're not going home.
Speaker 1Okay, ever, I'm walking home.
Speaker 2You can walk home.
Speaker 1Yeah, so I'm coming home. You know what?
Speaker 2I'm gonna drive to your place to pick you up to go to the gym and you're like halfway home, yeah, but I'm tired.
Speaker 1This was a good segment.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1You did good. I am proud of you, but now it's taken so much time. No, I'm kidding, this is me being impatient joke. But we did say that since it's number 72, it's time for a history lesson.
Speaker 2All right.
Speaker 1And of course you don't trust me. No that I would come up with a word.
Speaker 2That's true.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, I don't trust you to come up with words. No, exactly.
Speaker 1Topic Topic yes, but I did come up with a topic.
Speaker 2Just now.
Speaker 1Yesterday.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Okay, so there's almost an anniversary.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Like 112 years ago. Okay, something happened, but I want you to tell me more about the history about Titanic.
Speaker 2Titanic.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Was it really that long ago? Okay?
Speaker 1112 years ago.
Speaker 2Okay, all right, once upon a time there was a guy, his name not important, it was a guy.
Speaker 1Okay.
Unsinkable Titanic and Boat Guy
Speaker 2And he was like I like boats, he was a boat guy. Okay, and he was like I like boats, he was a boat guy. Yeah, he was like I'm gonna draw up the biggest boat ever. It's gonna be amazing, it's gonna be pretty and fancy and there's gonna be like lights and stuff and beds and it's gonna be amazing. And he was telling this to his friend.
Speaker 2Yeah and his friend's listening and he's like, okay, well, what if it sinks, then you're gonna lose everything. And the the boat guy was like it's not gonna sink, it's gonna be unsinkable. And his friend's like, all right, have fun with that that's unthinkable unthinkable. And then his friend, just like I don't know, went on with his life. He doesn't come back. That's unthinkable, unthinkable, ha Ha Ha. And then this friend, just like I don't know, went on with his life.
Speaker 1He doesn't come back, okay.
Speaker 2Abandons his boat friend, yeah, whatever. So Boat Guy is his name now.
Speaker 1Yeah, Boat Guy. Is that a last name or?
Speaker 2Guy Boat is his name.
Speaker 1Okay, his name is Guy Boat.
Speaker 2But he's usually called by his last name, like some people.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So his name is Boat Guy.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, he switches it. Yeah, it's like in China, where the last name is first.
Speaker 2Yeah, we're going to say that.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2He's probably Chinese, he carries the traditions Anyway. So boat guy goes on and gets people to build his boat for him, and then he calls it the Titanic.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2And then his friend came back and was like what's with this name? Why is it called Titanic? Just come back to judge his friend. Yeah.
Speaker 1Very judgmental friend he has.
Speaker 2Are they actually friends?
Speaker 1I don't know, but he called him fat too right.
Speaker 2I don't know, maybe he called him fat too, right? I don't know, maybe Fat and Chinese and childish and Chinese.
Speaker 1You're fat and Chinese.
Speaker 2So yeah, the friend was like, why is it called Titanic? And boat guy had a really good reason for the Titanic name, but he whispered it into his friend's ear and they never spoke of it ever again.
Speaker 1Yeah, too bad, it was the friend's deaf ear.
Speaker 2Yeah, he didn't really hear, but he just pretended.
Speaker 1He didn't want to be rude.
Speaker 2No, couldn't say what, what, no, no, he was just like yeah, okay, that sounds about right, that sounds good, and he left again I wonder if he'll be back I don't know if he'll be back. He never comes back after that. Um so boat guy has his boat now and he's like this is amazing and it's unsinkable, wow. And so he sends an invitation to a whole bunch of rich people to be his friend and to ride his boat with him to London, from London to New York and New York to London.
Speaker 2They were like we're going to go yachting. It's going to be awesome. It's a really long cruise, but this is going to be great.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2That's what all of the rich people said. They were like yeah we're going to do this. So the rich people got onto the boat, the Titanic. It's not just a boat, it's the Titanic.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And they all partied and it was great and it was a little chilly, but I think there was some form of heating inside the boat.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And maybe a swimming pool, because why not have a swimming pool when you're in the middle of the ocean? Yeah exactly, and I don't know lots of dancing and violins violins violin, violins, violins yeah, it's the fancy kind of violence. That's the word yes that was the word yeah so the boat's amazing. And then suddenly in the middle of the ocean the boat ran into something really big. It went boom boop, boop, something booped the boat booped the boat and it turned out that they booped the rock.
Speaker 1He was a very cold rock.
Speaker 2He was also known as the iceberg. Okay, and he said ow, why, why?
Speaker 1So he hit the boat. Yeah, so he hit the boat back.
Speaker 2He pushed it back and there was a giant hole.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And boat guy was like, oh no, my boat. And he went out to say sorry to the iceberg rock.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And iceberg rock was like the cold rock and cold rock was like it's too late. I already destroyed your boat. But boat guy was like it's okay, it's unsinkable. And then the boat started sinking and it was filling up with water yeah, and he was like oh no, it's not good.
Speaker 2No, thank god we have like three lifeboats yeah, he was like I'm prepared with three light light lifeboats. I'm prepared for this situation. I didn't think we would need them, but we have three light bulbs to save us while this boat is sinking, even though it's not supposed to sink.
Speaker 1No, exactly.
Speaker 2And so I don't know, he replaced the light bulbs that were still working with the new ones. He was like this is going to fix it. But the boat kept sinking and then he was out of ideas. Boat guy could not think of anything else. So he was like luckily I have extra boats for my boats. My boat, my big boat, has some baby boats. We're going to take some baby boats. But he was trying to think of the people on the boat and he was like, oh, women and children first. And the majority of the people were women and children. Because that's the thing you know, women and children then like, go hand in hand.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And so all of the baby boats got filled with all these women and children, and so all the men got left on the boat and they all drowned and died, yeah, and then the cold rock laughed the entire time. That's what you get for booping me.
Speaker 1Oh, so that's what happened.
Speaker 2That's what happened. That's what happened and that was like half of the male population is at the bottom of the ocean now. Okay, so half of all the men in the entire world down there. That's bad luck that is bad luck. And so now we're surrounded, we're uh overpopulated with women and children.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Because of this incident, oh yeah, okay. If you've noticed, there's a lot more women and children. Yeah, the children don't become adults.
Speaker 1No, they never grow up.
Speaker 2No, that's right, that's what happened oh very interesting. So boat guy is dead.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And his friend. I don't know where he went. I don't think he went on the boat.
Speaker 1No, okay.
Speaker 2He thought the boat was stupid yeah. So, he wasn't that good of a friend either.
Speaker 1No, he just kept abandoning. He was more of a bully than a friend.
Speaker 2Yeah, but Boat Guy was so ignorant he still thought his friend was a friend, we're friends, we're friends. Right, like oh, whatever, and that's the story of the Titanic.
Speaker 1Yeah, very cool.
Speaker 2It is very cool.
Speaker 1I didn't know that.
Speaker 2I know you didn't know that.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And they made a movie. Yeah, the guy. James Cameron yeah movie yeah, the guy james cameron, yeah, something like that, I don't know yeah and the movie was completely wrong yeah, I mean, I didn't know anything leonardo dicaprio and yeah kate winslet yeah they were never on the boat no, okay no, it was just women and children yeah and boat guy. They completely left him out. I don't know why. Yeah.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2Like he might have been filmed, but they cut his character, yeah.
Speaker 1It's too bad, very stupid.
Speaker 2It is Dumb, very dumb.
Speaker 1I hate James Cameron now.
Speaker 2You were never a fan anyway.
Speaker 1No, that's true. I haven't even seen the Abyss.
Speaker 2That's right. You couldn't possibly be a fan if you haven't seen all of his movies.
Speaker 1True yeah.
Speaker 2I don't know, is this enough?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Have you written a limerick this time?
Speaker 1I haven't, but I started it oh my god Okay. In record time. I in like a second. I just came up with a limerick.
Speaker 2Alright.
Speaker 1Do it. Last week the fat guy was stressing His friend got all the aggression. Now he's been better when Apology met her and she now gave a history lesson, okay.
Speaker 2Good job.
Speaker 1Thank you.
Speaker 2Proud of you. Okay, good job.
Speaker 1Thank you, proud of you. Thank you, yeah, it was stupid.
Speaker 2It was good, okay, matthias.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2This has been so much fun.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Sitting here doing nothing, would you?
Speaker 1Sitting here melting.
Speaker 2I'm melting. What did you say?
Speaker 1Doing nothing.
Speaker 2Would you like to wrap this up?
Speaker 1yeah, if you see someone.
Speaker 2Yeah, if you, you're just like I don't know, on your phone doing whatever or looking down, look up and the first person you see, go up to them and make this noise and then say hello. I'm listening to this super funny podcast called roasty toasty ghosty and you should definitely listen to it yeah if you want to hear more of this sound awesome, very good and then you'll be besties Like us. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1And maybe you'll fight once in a while too.
Speaker 2That's natural.
Speaker 1Or at least one of you will fight and the other one won't say anything.
Speaker 2The other one will just be a cushion for anger.
Speaker 1One day you're going to snap.
Speaker 2Yeah, probably, but I've said that about a few things before.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I would snap and I've been pretty good, I think. Yeah, I've been close, not quite.
Speaker 1Yeah, it would be cool if it was like the reverse.
Speaker 2If you snapped at me.
Speaker 1What.
Speaker 2What.
Speaker 1I do that all the time.
Speaker 2Yeah, that would be pretty cool, I guess. Is that what you were trying to say?
Speaker 1No, that you would snap at me, oh, and I didn't say anything back. I would just take it. It would be kind of cool.
Speaker 2Would it though.
Speaker 1For you? No. What if we switched bodies?
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Do I get to keep your thoughts or do I have to keep my thoughts? I think you will have your thoughts. Okay, but you're just in my.
Speaker 2I can't get in your head.
Speaker 1No, it's like uh, the Freaky Friday movies.
Speaker 2Okay, so what would happen then?
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2What would that benefit?
Speaker 1I guess you.
Speaker 2I'm still me just taller and terrified because I'm so tall.
Speaker 1Okay, I thought you were going to enjoy being tall for once.
Speaker 2I mean. I might take advantage, but I'm going to be holding on to everything.
Speaker 1You seem like you want to be tall. Sometimes, Just temporarily. You're always talking about how tall I am.
Speaker 2You are tall, yeah, just in amazement.
Speaker 1Yeah, it seems like you want to be tall so badly.
Speaker 2Only when I need to be.
Speaker 1Yeah, like when you're gonna reach the snacks.
Speaker 2Yeah, I can never reach the snacks.
Speaker 1So yeah, I don't know, Maybe we should stay in our bodies, though.
Speaker 2Maybe we should do that.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I'm not sure if we have a choice.
Speaker 1I don't think so probably.
Speaker 2We have to stay in our bodies, yeah.
Speaker 1And yeah, I mean guess.
Speaker 2Just how it is.
Speaker 1Yeah, we'll have to live with that.
Speaker 2Yeah, our next Live mad libs is may 4th. For those who missed our last one, you can find it on twitch oh, is that gonna be a star wars? I think we're gonna be star wars themed yeah, can we dress up, sure, do you have anything?
Speaker 1no, I'll be dressy I'll be dressing no dressy, I'll be no okay, but Dressy no, dressy-uppy no. Okay, but we figured something out.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1Who are you going to be?
Speaker 2I don't know. I have some time to think about it.
Speaker 1Princess Leia.
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 1I know who I'm going to be.
Speaker 2Okay, jabba the Hutt. Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 1That's the one that feels very Matthias.
Speaker 2I don't know very, matias.
Speaker 1I don't know, maybe not you're wrong. Han solo. No, we have time to think about it. Fat solo porkins. Porkins, that was his name who it's one of the guys you know flying in the first one. You know at the end when they're gonna blow the death star into pieces. There's one a little bit, you know, heavier guy flying one of those things.
Speaker 2X-Wing.
Speaker 1Yeah, and his name is Porkins.
Speaker 2Okay, I don't know, that's me, we'll see.
Speaker 1Yeah, we'll see.
