Jason:

Hello, welcome, welcome, welcome to another edition of the Pond Pony podcast. We are back. We are back in action. It is me, the OG in the fantasy funkle, Joshua Pershing.

Pershin:

What is happening? Howdy, how you doing strength? How you doing populace? Glad to be back after a brief hiatus.

Jason:

Yeah, you know, some people have to take vacations.

Pershin:

Hey, some people need a break from my bloviating.

Jason:

So, yeah, we're, we're back at it after a brief vacation, a one week vacation. We got, you know, NFL schedule to talk about NBA playoffs to talk about. And you know, just poking around the, the news in, in sports today. So let's, let's get after it. Let's start to show. All right. So first thing I wanted to talk about was, was new deals, new deals in the NFL. Jared golf got a new deal. Um, He got paid, he got four years, 212 million contract extension, 170 million is guaranteed. He is the highest paid a lion in franchise history. What are, what are your thoughts on that, that deal?

Pershin:

My thoughts are, wow. I, is that a yeet or no yeet? I guess it's a yeet. I mean, I'm happy for him. My man is ridiculously rich right now. So, you know, do your thing. I mean, from, from a perspective of like, okay, Is he worth this deal? My guess is no, you know, he's, he has played well since he's been in Detroit. I won't, you know, hold that against him. I won't say, you know, that he's disappointed or anything like that, but he still has the same problems. That he had before he got to Detroit. And namely that is when he does face pressure, he doesn't do well. And he has been lucky. I think it's been four or five seasons in a row now that, that they've actually had an offensive line, at least past protection wise in the top five, according to PFF, at least so. Even if you don't necessarily agree with all PFF says, it's pretty obvious to see that his offensive line has been really good for him since he's been there. And right. I just think that, okay, you just paid the shit out of Amon Ross St. Brown. That's fine. He deserved it. And now you pay in the shit out of golf, including a ton of guaranteed money. You're locked in. It's going to make it all that much more difficult to keep that offensive line intact. And the thing is that I don't believe that Goff is the kind of quarterback that's going to be able to withstand if he doesn't have. One of the better offensive lines. He does just fine. In fact, he does better than average with the clean pocket situation. I don't think he's done much to improve in the area where he needed to. I wouldn't have given him that much myself, but I could see where they're coming from. They probably don't necessarily think Hindenhooker. Is good enough to step in and do that. And so they feel like, well, we got to pay him or, you know, square one at quarterback. And it's not a good time for them to do that. You know, they're all in. So,

Jason:

yeah, they're, they are all in, but. I mean, we, we already saw what he could do with, with a crappy offensive line. So, you know, but I mean, it seems like they didn't really have a choice. It's they, they have to go all in and then. When this extensions over they just blow it all up boom right hit the reset button full nuke fallout style On on the team.

Pershin:

Yeah, I I think that he and his agent Really did a good job that that with that 170 guaranteed fully guaranteed is is pretty good Pretty good. Pretty good.

Jason:

Yeah. Another player got a, a one year deal OBJ. He's, he's going to hang out with Tua and the dolphins. He wasn't sure about Tua at first, but he became sure so he signed with them. So, you know, maybe another weapon. I don't know. I mean, He's like limping onto the field at this point, regardless if he's healthy or not, right?

Pershin:

Yeah, last year was a weird situation for him. He was playing like, An average of like 30 percent of the snaps. And a lot of the times when he was in there, he actually was making plays, getting himself open, earning targets. So I guess maybe, I guess maybe he, he could be a thing for them, but I don't know what's going on with him health wise, or if he's just. at a point where he, he just can't stay on the field. I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Tua is very excited about it. So that never hurts.

Jason:

Well, yeah. I mean, if anything, maybe he can be the intermediate route guy, just collecting the underneath stuff, you know and then Zay Jones went to the Cardinals. That's that's gotta be nice for Kyler Murray. Zay Jones, if you're a Zay

Pershin:

Jones fan, I believe it's a 4. 25 million deal, but it's incentive laden. So he could actually make a decent amount of money this year. And then of course, if he hits those bonuses, he's also going to look good production wise, which means he'd probably get himself a contract next year. I think that it'll be interesting though. Look

Jason:

out for fantasy.

Pershin:

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I, it's going to be really interesting to see who kind of wins the battle because the battle is going to be between him and Michael Wilson. Now, last year they took Michael Wilson in the third round. He had an up and down season. I wouldn't say it was horrible. There's sort of flashes and some people were excited about him. My guess though, is that Zay Jones does beat him out, but we'll see. That'll be an interesting sort of battle because. If Zay doesn't get on the field much and can't get those incentives and can't help his case for a contract in the offseason, he's probably going to be shitting. So it's going to be like, Oh, I need to trade, trade me or something like that. But

Jason:

I don't know. He's going to be more than shitting. He's going to be off the team shitting.

Pershin:

Yeah, but I think Greg George is locked into that slot role in three wide receiver sets and obviously Marvin Harrison's going to be out there every place. So it is going to be a battle between he and Mike Wilson, and they both are the same type of receiver to specializing in that sort of boundary field stretching contested catch sort of. Archetype. And so we'll see.

Jason:

Right,

Pershin:

right.

Jason:

Yeah, we will see. Moving on from player deals, the NFL has struck a deal with Netflix to host all of the Christmas day games. So effectively at some point or another to watch the NFL, you can watch it with the old school antenna. You can get ESPN plus you could get Peacock, Netflix, and Amazon prime. And then if you wanted all of it, like what I'm going to do, you can get YouTube TV and get the Sunday NFL ticket package. You

Pershin:

can

Jason:

get the

Pershin:

NFL ticket,

Jason:

which erases the need for ESPN plus and Peacock. Because you kind of get those already. When you get the, you know, the YouTube TV, but I only do, you know, what I do is I only sign up for the months that football's on and then I split it with somebody else. So really, I will, we're each only paying like 180 bucks for Sunday ticket and then like 30 bucks a month for the TV.

Pershin:

Yeah, that's what I was going to ask is because I, I literally don't know, but how, how many people, if you have the YouTube TV subscription, how many people can actually log in at the same time? Because usually there's a cap of three, four or five, something like that service. I don't

Jason:

know. I don't know how many people, but we effectively each one of me and him used my one account. He logged in on my account at his house. I logged in at my account of my house and we watched, we each had four games going at the same time.

Pershin:

Yeah.

Jason:

So, I mean,

Pershin:

It, it, it's at least two. I was gonna say though, if it is like three or four, you could really milk that You could really get your bang and, I mean, for most people.

Jason:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Pershin:

That YouTube TV subscription is gonna come at a big discount when you bundle it with the Sunday ticket and also it, it will basically make the other streaming platforms redundant for you.

Jason:

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there are some people paying a lot of money for streaming. I am fortunate that I have. A couple of deals, like with my phone plan, I get HBO so I can watch some of the NBA games, some of the NHL games that come on there. And then, you know, some people allow me to use their login, so

Pershin:

yeah.

Jason:

But yeah, so that, that's, that's just interesting. What else is interesting about broadcast is Jason Kelsey's going to Monday Night Countdown. I did not know that.

Pershin:

Huh? Okay. I could see him being good on, on a show like that.

Jason:

Yeah. Well, I mean, if you listen to his podcast, he's pretty, he's pretty solid on there. So,

Pershin:

yeah, I've actually never listened to it myself. I've only seen like little clips of when they say like something controversial or funny or some Taylor Swift shit or whatever.

Jason:

Right? People trade them around. Speaking. I'm glad. Yeah. You know, I'm glad you said something about Taylor Swift because It's a

Pershin:

professional show, we have professional transitions.

Jason:

She recently played her 87th show, and so what she did was one of her outfits was the colors of the Chiefs red and yellow, so. You know, good on her. Good on her for doing that.

Pershin:

It's gotta be love. No one does that unless they're in love, right?

Jason:

Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. Here we go with the hot, the pine, only at the pine pony podcast where you can get the hottest and latest news from around the globe. But anyway, moving on to, to a pretty hot topic. Yesterday, The NFL had its annual schedule release That's right.

Pershin:

Did you see any team? Did you see any team's announcements that were legitimately really entertaining? Because I've actually been disappointed so far this year. Last year, I felt like there was a handful of really funny ones and I haven't seen anything that super impressed me so far. Well, so my

Jason:

problem is, is I don't have Twitter anymore. So threads is, you know, everybody's not really on threads quite yet. So some people forget to post.

Pershin:

Oh, the team's not even posting it on threads right now.

Jason:

Yeah. Yeah. Oh

Pershin:

Get it together, man. You're a professional.

Jason:

Yeah, there's social media accounts. I need some help But they're not that means they're not even posting it on Instagram either so

Pershin:

Yes, you know they use that that to me is surprising because it's like You, you would think that these, these huge organizations, like a, like a sports team, a professional sports team would have like a full time dedicated social media person. You know what I mean? And it sounds like they probably,

Jason:

yeah. I mean, does the NFL, like, do the teams themselves really need like a huge social media presence? No, I

Pershin:

mean, they're, they probably don't have much incentive to change anything. The money's probably rolling in no matter what.

Jason:

Right.

Pershin:

I would though, I would go ahead and do that just because, I mean, that's the way the world is moving more and more and more people are using social media than ever before. But Hey, you know what? And I don't, I don't have any teams.

Jason:

Yeah. Well, so let, let's talk about this schedule a little bit. So. A couple of notice, notable games. We have the international games week one, Friday night for the first time in over 50 years, we got the Packers versus the Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil. That's, that's going to be fun. That's your peacock NFL plus. So, so I guess you gotta have peacock to watch that. Yeah. So sucks for the people who don't. I don't, I don't know if that's, you know,

Pershin:

one of the six services you're going to have to have if you're not getting a Sunday ticket or whatever.

Jason:

Yeah. So this should be a fun game. You know, you got Jordan love and you know, getting, getting week one prime time only slot. Yeah. Very excited about that game. So I'm just going to go through the rest of week one here. Week Thursday night, the opening of the entire shebang got a Chiefs versus the Ravens.

Pershin:

Yeah. This is actually the one I'm most interested in from the first couple of weeks, because the thing is that you know, Chris Jones and that Kansas city defensive front, they are going to put to test that Ravens offensive line. And the thing is that that they completely blew up that offensive line this off season. They let them all walk. I think they're literally bringing back one of their starters from last year and their line is basically Oh, our backups are starter caliber anyway. And they like brought in debt pieces or whatever. And it's like, all right, well, we're going to see early on just how well that line holds up because the past couple of seasons, they've been above average. They've been a good offensive line and it'll be interesting to see how they fare because, you know, they're gonna, they're gonna have to go against the. You know, some, some pretty tough fellas there. So I'm interested to see Yeah. How, how well that's gonna work with Derrick Henry. Is he gonna get any space to run? And yeah, I think that'll, that'll be an interesting narrative heading into that game. Should be a good game either way.

Jason:

Absolutely. Another game from week one that I'm interested in, Texans versus the cults. I wanna see if the Texans can kinda. Start off of that momentum they had last year. And then a reason why I'm interested in the Colts is because Anthony Richardson, I think should be back so we could see where the Colts could maybe go. So yeah,

Pershin:

that's definitely going to be one that I'm going to try to tune into. If I can Anthony Richardson is a guy who was. What the equivalent of seven quarters in total that he was able to stay on the field last year. So a super small sample size. That being said, he looked better as a thrower than I thought he was going to be. And he was fantasy gold. He was running and running for touchdowns left and right. And I was like, Ooh, shit. So still something of a question mark, you know, because he, you know, a game and a half worth of play is, is not really enough to hang your hat on. But

Jason:

He's not a question mark. Look, man, he's not a question mark in my heart. He's not a question mark in my heart.

Pershin:

Hey, well, I'm betting on him. I went from betting against him to betting on, I actually traded for him. I have him in our dynasty league at this point. So I'm really going to be, I'm really going to be looking forward to that first couple of weeks and seeing, you know, is he still putting up crazy production? We'll see.

Jason:

Yep. The next game I'm interested in is Harbaugh's first game. Raiders at Chargers. Antonio Pierce. First game as official head coach versus Hallborough as official head coach. So that should be fun. Game after that I'm looking at is the Cowboys at the Browns. Just want to see what Deshaun Watson can do if he starts And in the last game of week 1 is the Monday night primetime Jets at 40 Diners. Interesting, the Jets have 6 primetime games in the first 11 weeks.

Pershin:

Was not expecting that. I, I think they're overestimating the interest in Aaron Rodgers, man. I think that, I think for a lot of people, they're literally over, they're over it. Like he's constantly saying. Yeah, absolutely. Crazy shit on various podcasts and shows and stuff. And I mean, he's been at this antics for so many seasons now. It's been, I, I don't know, maybe he does have some, some people who just really still care, give a damn. But for me. I feel like I'm, I'm over it. And to be honest with you, I'll be surprised if he even is the same guy anymore. He's older, he's coming off of Achilles. He didn't even look like the same guy that final year, two years ago. I just feel like, man, the expectations are way too high for the jets this year. Way too high. I think that they're going to be the Broncos of a couple of years ago. People like, Oh, Russell Wilson, he's going to save them. And, and then, And in fact, that year the Broncos had like seven primetime games and the NFL was like, shit, this team sucks. And they're in all of our primetimes.

Jason:

Yeah. Yeah.

Pershin:

And I think that that might happen. So I would not be surprised if the jets fall on their face, man.

Jason:

We'll see what happens. Moving on to week two. I'm interested in the bills at the dolphins on the Thursday night game. And then the Colts at the Packers. Just, again, Anthony Richardson, Jordan Love, that, that should be really cool. Falcons at Eagles and then Bengals at Chiefs. You know, Bengals at Chiefs is probably gonna be the, the supposed, you know, highlight game.

Pershin:

Yeah, that's the one I had highlighted for Week 2, was like, okay, let, let's see. My, my guess is that they're both gonna come into that game 1 0. And everyone's going to be like, Oh, you know, Superbowl in week two. I think there's going to be as about about as much sort of hype for a week two game as, as you could, as you can get for that one, I think. And I, I love, I love how they've got two really nice Thursday games to start things off to.

Jason:

Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, I mean the, they got a lot of the teams that deserve a lot of the primetime games this year. Like just real quick, yeah, six general teams with six primetime is 49ers jets, Cowboys, and then five primetime games. It's Ravens, bills, bangles, lions, chiefs, Rams, Eagles, Packers, dolphins. So, you know.

Pershin:

Yeah, I literally think they did better this year, did better this year than last year. Just like looking, when I was looking through, like, what are the Thursday games lined up to be? Last year, it was like, even before the season started, I was just like, they got some dud games on Thursday thrown in here on an island. And then this year it's like, oh, okay. A lot of these island games are, they should be good. You know, we never know, but you know, I like it.

Jason:

Yeah, Kirkhope Street should have a better time this season. Yeah. Yeah. So week three Ravens at Cowboys. That should be a fun game. And then we have our first Monday night double header. Jaguars at bills should be a good game. Commanders at Bengals. Let's just say I won't be watching that one.

Pershin:

Yeah, I think it'll be interesting in the general sense, just to see. How, how much and how good of a runner Jaden Daniels is. He'll be interesting if he really is like a Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts style QB. He's kind of talking like he wants to be a pocket guy in the NFL. I, I don't know. But it'll be interesting to see.

Jason:

Moving on to week four, the only notable games as of right now, I mean, it's kind of hard to tell, like by, you know, what's really going to be notable by then there's going to be injuries. But anyway, as of right now, week four, it's another Monday Night Doubleheader, Titans at Dolphins, and Seahawks at Lions. So, eh, you know. And in week five, we've got an international game, Jets are playing the Vikings. Week six, we've got another international game, Jaguars are playing the Bears. Week 7 Patriots versus the Jaguars and all of those games are in London and Then I don't have anything week 8 week 9 just because like I said By then the narratives and everything's gonna be changed Records are gonna be in play, but week 10 is another International game and I believe the final one and that's the Giants and the Panthers in Germany So, yeah, I mean, the Panthers have zero, zero primetime game. They're the only team without a primetime game.

Pershin:

Yeah, but they do have a Germany game. So there you go. They do have an early morning game. It's like an Island game kind of.

Jason:

Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, I mean, that's the NFL schedule is came and it is gone. So what do you think of the

Pershin:

Packers schedule? You feel like this is going to be a tough schedule, kind of like meh, or even on the easier side?

Jason:

I have, let me let me pull it up real quick to give you a, well, so we start out with the Eagles Colts, you know, the Eagles could be, could be a loss cause I think we'll still be figuring out the defense. And it's a, it's in Brazil. It's weird, weird game, but it could be weird for anyway. So that'll be interesting game. But Colts, I think we'll win that game. Titans, Vikings, Rams, Cardinals, Texans, Jaguars, Lions, bears, 49ers, Dolphins, Lions, Seahawks, Saints, Vikings, bears. I mean, it favors us early on in the season.

Pershin:

Yeah.

Jason:

We, we play a lot of. lower level talent early on and then we go through a stretch of like Texans, Jaguars, Lions, Bears, Niners, Dolphins, Lions.

Pershin:

Yes. I basically felt like the Bronco schedule was basically like average, which for us will be difficult because we're below average.

Jason:

Yeah.

Pershin:

Luckily for us, I mean, playing with the Chargers, I really don't expect much from the Chargers. I think they're basically in a transition year here. Nobody's talking that way, but I think that's the truth. It's like a rebuild year for them. I think the Raiders will be interesting. I actually find myself really liking Antonio Pierce, even though I don't like the Raiders in general. It, I could see them going either way because they were playing well towards the end of last season. And it's not like they lost a bunch of pieces. In fact, they were kind of injured and still playing well. And so I think it's possible that he has a team. You know, competitive, but I, but I could also see how it's like completely different this year. Last year he was playing on house money. This time he has expectations behind him, you know? Right. So I could see it all flopping too.

Jason:

I mean, looking at the chief's schedule, they got a pretty tough schedule too.

Pershin:

Yes.

Jason:

I mean, they start off Ravens, Bengals, Falcons, Chargers, Saints, 49ers.

Pershin:

Ooh. I think that outside of the AFC West Divisional games, like the out of division games for them, I think it's the hardest in the league.

Jason:

Yeah.

Pershin:

I think. Here's the

Jason:

question, here's the question. Did the NFL arrange the schedule so that it would line up for Taylor Swift's concert schedule so that she could be at the games?

Pershin:

Is her concert schedule already done that far in advance? I

Jason:

Yeah. Oh yeah, man. I mean, you're doing a big tour like that. Yeah.

Pershin:

I mean, that's an interesting question actually. I haven't thought about that, but you know what? If I'm the NFL, I would, I literally would be like, Hey, the reason why I'm always saying that is

Jason:

because why don't you work? They've got one, two, three, four primetime games within the first like seven weeks. So those are not on Sundays.

Pershin:

Yeah. I mean, they are the, they are the hottest sort of team as far as like gaining new members of the bandwagon right now. So I think it makes sense for the NFL. If I was the NFL, I really would do exactly what you said, which is like. Contact with Taylor or her handlers, however, that works and be like, Hey, look, we love having you at the games. How can we make it more convenient for you to be at our games? So like, let's work together here. And you know, since she stayed in Kelsey anyways, she's probably game to be like, okay, let's work it out. You know, I think that makes sense.

Jason:

I

Pershin:

have no idea if they did that. We shall see.

Jason:

Well, you. You know, what else is kind of weird about the Chiefs, Xavier Worthy got his car stolen. He did.

Pershin:

I have a suspicion that Rasheed Rice stole his car. One of them keeps getting crimes committed against him and the other keeps committing crimes. They said that Xavier, where these car got stolen just like a couple of years ago. I wonder if it's the same person. I don't know. I thought that was funny. I was like, damn, the poor guy keeps committing

Jason:

insurance fraud. Yeah, there she or I should, well, you know what else is interesting? You know what else is interesting about another player? If I can't, is it Marvin Harrison jr. Hasn't signed his NFL PA. Like Agreement or whatever. So he can't sell the, like his Jersey is not being sold yet. You can't buy his Jersey yet.

Pershin:

Wait, he's, he's doesn't want to join the organization. Like that's basically the union that represents all the players.

Jason:

Yeah. I actually did not hear

Pershin:

about this. That sounds wild.

Jason:

Yeah. Marvin Harrison Jr. Jersey remains unavailable with NFL PA licensing deal unsigned. So he hasn't signed the licensing deal yet.

Pershin:

Wow. That's funny.

Jason:

So now we will check in on the NBA playoffs. You know, typically I watch the NBA. I watch every Hornets game actually, but not this season. Because of basically what the NFL is doing is I had to pay to watch the game and they were bad and I'm not going to pay to watch a bad team play. So, but anyway, I checked in on the NBA playoffs and one team that really surprised me to be really good are the New York Knicks and Jalen Bronson is carrying this team. He is a stat leader in total points, 329 points as of yesterday. He's averaging like 40 points a game. There have they have so many injuries like it's it's unbelievable how they are even winning Yeah, I believe they're up on the series Where are they? Yeah, they're up three games to two with a game tomorrow

Pershin:

Yeah, I saw Charles Barkley on TV comparing him to LeBron He was like, this reminds me of just when, like, LeBron had, like, an injured Chris Bosh, I think it was like somebody was injured and then couldn't play. And then Kevin Love played through injury and it was him versus the all star team of the, of the Golden State Warriors, heavy underdogs. And they just kept winning anyways. Cause LeBron just did everything. He, he just, he handled the ball every single fucking play. And he's like, this is literally what Brunson's doing. And it like, people need to pay attention. And so kudos to him. You know, I, I don't follow a lot outside of my nuggies and my nuggies have come back in the series after being down oh two. I watched him. Yeah. Yeah. I watched him win. Quite decide to, they're up three games to two now. Right. They, they were down 0 2 and then they won three in a row, which is nice. I watched the game a couple nights ago and they won very decisively.

Jason:

They're losing right now though.

Pershin:

Oh, is it already on? I thought it was supposed to be a late game. I guess it is late.

Jason:

No, it is, it is halftime and it is 59 40 Timberwolves are up. Oh, bro. Oh, bro. That's not

Pershin:

good. That's not good.

Jason:

Yeah. What do you think about Jo? He, he won, he won another MVP. The guy

Pershin:

continues to defy my, like, sense of him. He's he creates some sort of optical illusion for me where every time I watch him play, he looks sloppy. Like he's a clutz, like he's uncoordinated. But then somehow he keeps making play after play after play. And I'm just like, okay, clearly he's very coordinated. Clearly he's not,

Jason:

you know, he

Pershin:

just looks so awkward, but yet he just, he keeps making the plays. And so, I mean, he reminds

Jason:

me of Dirk, Dirk Novinsky. Like he just, Looks sloppy as hell, but damned up all was going in.

Pershin:

It's like, I think it catches defenders off guard too. I think if you have like an awkward way of moving, it just like, people don't necessarily know how to defend you that well. Like it's, it's a little bit, I'm not sure. All I know is that he is really good. I do honestly think he's played at an MVP level the past two seasons. And so you know, kudos to him. I'm glad that the Nuggies got him. He's a beast. He also has some pretty funny sound bites. Sometimes he'll say some, some pretty left field shit, which I think is, which I think is always good. Never hurts.

Jason:

Yeah. Yeah. There's so, so they got this game and another game to close out the series against the Timberwolves. So we'll see what happens with them moving on to another intriguing matchup, the number five seed Dallas Mavericks versus the one seed Oklahoma city thunder. Dallas is leading that series three to two. I mean, look at Dodge, which is, is going off. He's doing Luca. Don't just zings. I think he had 40 last night. So they got another game. I think he's got a chip

Pershin:

on his shoulder. I think he's like, bitch, I was MVP.

Jason:

Yeah, for sure. For sure. So, I mean, I would love to actually watch the Nuggets and the Mavericks go at it. That would be fun.

Pershin:

There's a good chance of it. Yeah.

Jason:

Yeah. And then our final matchup, which is already over because the Celtics dominated the Cavaliers. So, four games to one. The gentlemen sweep. I mean, what you're going to say, I think it's going to be the Celtics coming out of the East again. They're the best team. What do you

Pershin:

think? I mean, they're, they're the favorites. They really are the ones that you would expect to pull it out at the end of the day. Yeah. Yeah, I, I don't have too much to say about the East, I guess. I think that the Brunson thing is pretty interesting, but

Jason:

yeah. Well, it is interesting that the bucks, you know, brought in doc rivers and they saw a first round exit 76ers, they kind of been this team that's teetering on, on trying to get to the finals and they had a first round exit. So it's like, and then on the other side, you've got the Lakers with the first round exit with LeBron James. You've got the Warriors not even making it into the playoffs. So there's definitely, yeah. It's changing of the guard.

Pershin:

Yeah. I was going to say, it's crazy. Just what a couple of seasons, how different the league looks now.

Jason:

Well, and then what about in Phoenix? You have. Kevin Durant, you had why am I dropping his name

Pershin:

now? James Harden, right? Was he with the, with the sons over there?

Jason:

Yeah. You had Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Eric Gordon. I mean, all of these guys, Bradley Beal, who used to be, you know, he's all right, but still Kevin Durant and Devin Booker should be enough to get you to the, to the playoffs. I'm sorry.

Pershin:

Yeah. So I think there is something to the, the notion that the West is a little bit tougher.

Jason:

Oh, it absolutely is. It absolutely is. I mean, if you just based off standings alone, go to conference, you know, the, the, the wind total in the East, Is the highest is 64, which was Boston. But then after that, it's 50, 49, 48, 47. Whereas the wind totals in the West are 49. Yeah. Like your top, top 10.

Pershin:

Yeah. And I mean, anything over 50, you know, that's going to be a competitive team right there.

Jason:

Absolutely. So, I mean, absolutely. Well, What do you, who do you think, last little bit on the NNBA playoffs, who do you think is going to be in the finals? Well, you got the Celtics and who's coming out of the West? I got the Celtics and the

Pershin:

Nuggets, man. I got the, I got The Nuggies came through and made a lot of clutch plays last year in the playoffs, and I feel like they've got the same dudes who made the clutch plays last year, they're gonna clutch up again. We're gonna get it done. Maybe not tonight, but we're gonna get it done versus the Wolves, and then we'll take care of you know, Dallas. I think it's probably gonna be Dallas. To get the upset and then play the nuggets. And I, I think that the, the path is pretty well clear for the Celtics to kind of skate, skate to the championship. And so that's my,

Jason:

sounds good. Yeah. I too, I too will have Denver, but dark horse. I, I think the Mavericks might be able to pull it out. So I'm rooting for the Mavericks, but I think Denver is going to be in with the Celtics.

Pershin:

There you go.

Jason:

Yeah.

Pershin:

Now I'll be honest with you. I haven't followed the NHL playoffs at all. Do you even want to talk about that? Do you, do you follow it? Watch it or what? Nope. All right. Well, we're good. There you go.

Jason:

There you go. And so, and that's all we got for you this week, ladies and gentlemen. Catch you next week. Maybe we'll talk some fantasy. You know, Implications of bi weeks, possible dynasty year two thoughts on rookie draft and anything else. Fantasy wise, we can scrape together as this new year begins and some of these other leagues get the closing. Hasta la vista, baby. Adios.
