Welcome, welcome, welcome to another Minnesota edition of the Pine Pody podcast. What's up, Persian? Howdy, howdy. Excited for the week four. Already a quarter of the way through the regular season here. But I, you know, I think I love these look aheads even more than the, the previews. Cause it's like, oh man, this is what I think's gonna happen now. I get excited about these bets and shit. Yeah, it's, it's nice to see how wrong we'll be when we're watching the games. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right, well, let's get into it. Let's start the show. The Pied Pony Podcast. Speaking of bets, did not have a good fantasy weekend for myself as far as bets wise. I lost a few during the day, but then, you know, regained all of that back on Sunday night game. I felt good. Actually, I think I gained 10 on the Sunday night game. I was like, Feeling good going into Monday. And then a lot of the, you know, some of the apps and all that, we're all like, yo, you know, if you get three of these out of four, like, you know, you'll get minimum your, your cash back and all that. you know, I got cocky. Didn't win a single one on Monday night. ETN fucked me hard with no touchdown at all. Anyway, hopefully we can do a little bit better this week. Yeah, I don't have much to report for myself Just I was at a music festival all weekend. I just didn't have much time. I believe you won DFS this week But I will say I did a clean sweep in all my leagues. I, I got, I got two fantasy leagues plus the draft Kings league. I got to win all three of those. And so that was good enough for me. Yeah. I won two of two of four, two of four leagues. All right. College football, notable games to look forward to Miami has its first ACC game on Friday night against Virginia tech. That should be interesting. Virginia Tech can finally give Miami a tough game. Kentucky plays Ole Miss, Ole Miss number 6 in the country, 4 0. Kentucky has been playing everybody tough, I'll be looking at that to see if, if they can play Ole Miss tough again. Louisville plays Notre Dame, number 15, number 16. Louisville's undefeated, still 3 0. Notre Dame's 3 1. They're looking to get, continue to get on the right track. That'll be a big test for Louisville. See what Louisville is made of. And then of course, Clemson plays Stanford. I don't act with recent success. I don't expect this to be a game, but I don't know much about Stanford, to be honest with you. I'll be interested to see what that game is. The spread is 21 and a half Clemson favorite. yeah, you gotta be feeling a lot better after the app state and the NC state performances, you know, Well, and this is an ACC game, so it's a conference game. So we, we, you know, we got to win this with the new realignment. And then another game I'm looking at Illinois versus Penn state number 19 versus number nine, see if Illinois can knock off Penn state and in the big game, everyone's probably going to be watching is Georgia versus Alabama. To cap off the night, 7 30 PM. Yeah, should be a good week of college football. I'm excited for that to kick it off on a Saturday. Moving on to the NFL. Let's talk about the Thursday night game. Cowboys versus Giants. Dallas is a four and a half point favorite. Over under is 44 and a half. I think Cowboys are going to get the win. They almost beat the Ravens. You know, the blowout against the Saints was maybe a little bit of a fluke. I think you're going to get the better version of the Cowboys and the worst version of Daniel Jones. Like last, last week was a fluke for Daniel Jones. I think Cowboys get the win prop bets that I'm liking real quick. Dak getting over 35 and a half passing attempts. He's, he's pretty much come over that all but one game. I think he, I think he'll get it anytime touchdown. And then I like Malik neighbors to get a touchdown as well. Okay. What do you think purge? Yeah, I think those are reasonable. I have a couple of my favorite pickums from the Thursday night game. I like both of the running games, the Devin Singletary. over 14 rush attempts and Rico Doudle over nine and a half rush attempts. Rico Doudle has quietly become the one a and that offense. Yes, he has. And I think that, you know, who drafted him? You did this guy, this guy. Nice. Hey, you were, you were out ahead of the curve. That's, that's what you want. And so I like both of those. I think that both of these teams are going to be able to, to be competitive enough to where neither one of them will necessarily abandon the run game. I think both of these defenses are pretty bad. And so what I like even more than these picks is I really like the, over on the 44 points apparently looks like some sports books have like a 44.5 or a 45, and some of'em even have a 44. Really all three of those. I like the over, I was actually shocked. I thought it was gonna be something like 48. Both of these defenses are just really bad through the first three weeks. And I think that there's just going to be more, more scoring than that. Moving on to the next game. I'm looking at Saints versus Falcons. See if the saints can rebound against a reeling kind of Falcons team. Still trying to find her way. Atlanta is a two point favor for 42 and a half over under. Saints have a grueling defensive battle. I don't think that'll be the case here. However, though, I do think it'll come down to the running backs, Kamara and Bijan. As to who can get going, whichever one can, can really get going. That'll be the office that I trust in this game. I like the saints to win though. Yeah, I'm actually going to pick the Falcons here. I think that the saints have been a really good surprise. But one thing I noticed in the week three game is that they lost their. Left tackle, I think they lost one of their tackles and they lost their center and as soon as their center went down They started having a lot of issues getting blown up, you know Right from the jump the Eagles are a tough matchup with Jalen Carter and company up front But still I think that they're going to struggle if they don't get those guys back Both of them I think are pretty doubtful to play And this game and I think that just as you said the running game is going to be huge for who could establish the running game, I think it's going to be harder for the saints here because They already don't have the best offensive line and then they're missing those important pieces I think that it it really gives the edge to the falcons in this game If if it was, you know an away game maybe But I like the falcons to win a close one here. Yeah, as far as prop bets, I think I count Kumar to get a touchdown. But one of the early ones that is out there, I think that's, that's doable. Yeah. I like that. They're just giving him so many opportunities so far. Yeah. He's next game I'm looking at, of course, I think game of the week. Packers, Vikings, Vikings 3 0, Packers 2 1, Green Bay is a two and a half point favorite. Jordan Love is back. He could have played last week, but why play Jordan Love early when you didn't need to, especially the way Malik Willis played the week before, and it was the Titans. So, I expect this team to turn more of the field goals that we've scored into touchdowns. And of course, open up the passing game a little bit more in this and that the Vikings defense allowed 71 yards rushing average per game. I think, I think we're, we'll try to attack that and you know, exploit Sam Darnold a little bit. I think, you know, Sam Darnold has been playing a lot better on this team. I think this will be the best defense that he has faced thus far and in the environment. We'll definitely see what that heavyweight matchup of Jair versus Justin Jefferson. That is my favorite matchup. I hope we get another Jair gritty all over Justin Jefferson. And I hope Jair is talking like I'm just imagining Jeff Halfley. Who this team defensively has improved seven interceptions already this season. They had seven interceptions of all last year. i'm just imagining jeff half and it'll be like yo jair. I want you fucking up in this guy's shit I want you talking all that shit to him and just like Get after him jam him at the line because jair last game He he came up and I mean he jammed one of the wide receivers at the line so hard And it threw the whole playoff You And it ended up with one of the eight sacks that will love us collected. I got Packers. I got Packers in this game at home. Yeah, I think we are pretty confident at this point. Correct me if I'm wrong. That Jordan love is going to be back for this game. Yeah, he he he was warming up Before the game moving completely fine. No, no setback. They just were you know, hey, let's be cautious Like it's the titans malik willis. We we can we can win with him. Let's let him get his revenge game. Yeah Yeah I actually see these teams as pretty Similar here. I think that it's going to be very interesting to see. We even talked about this on the preview. How, you know, the coaches that are in line for coach of the year right now get to play each other. I love it. I can't wait to see what happens. I'm going to give the nod to the Packers just because they're at home here. But I love what Brian Flores has been able to do. It'll be interesting to see how the Packers respond to it because If anyone is going to be a little bit more used to it, it would be an interdivisional opponent. Maybe the Packers are the ones that are going to understand better and not get tripped up. But yeah, this is one I'm just so interested to see how this plays out. And particularly like what sort of adjustments are made along the way. You know both coaching staffs just love to make adjustments and tailor things to the situation. I'm just interested to see how it all unfolds. I will give the nod to the pack. But just cause they're at home, I think these teams are pretty even right now. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Last game I'm looking at Steelers versus Colts. See if the Steelers can keep it going. Good. The four and Oh, Pittsburgh is a two point favorite as of right now. 39 and a half is the over under AR struggled a little bit lately, man. I'm a little disappointed in his game right now. he needs a get right game, but unfortunately, I don't think this is it. Because Steelers are going to be up in that ass. Yeah. I think the Steelers win this game. I'm not scared of the Colts right now. And maybe they play a game, maybe they play better than they have been, but I'm not scared of them at the moment. Steelers. Yeah, I agree with basically everything you said there. Unfortunately, AR has been disappointing as a passer, you know, I will, I was out on AR while you were in before he even, I'm still in before he even played a game. And then last year I got in just from like the, Eight quarters or nine quarters that we got to see of him. I was like, oh man He's better than I thought not then I was in I went and I traded for him I got him on my on my dynasty league and everything But I got to admit that it's concerning that he can't have Even one game with above 50 completion percentage. I mean he Is he is really air mailing some balls really bad, really poorly here. Of course, sometimes he'll have this amazing dive down the field. That's that just looks so beautiful, but he's got to become more consistent as a pastor. There's no way he's going to stay in the league if he doesn't improve. I think he, he will improve. I think he's just so raw. He's still. Even with this season's three games included, he still only started eight games in high school. The guy just needs, you got to imagine this is like his first season. This is his first season in the NFL. Yeah. He needs his reps. I think he'll improve. This isn't any worse than what we saw from Josh Allen. And now. He's cutting ass in the NFL. So long term I'm still in on him concerned for this season right here, though, I'll just say that. And yeah, that, that, that's the long way of saying I got the Steelers in this game. All right. All right. And other notable games that I'm going to be watching Broncos versus Jets. I'm hoping for the Broncos to get up in that air Rogers ass. I'll be checking that out bangles versus Panthers, the red rocket versus his old team revenge game. Yeah, but it's interesting. Cause this is a game that you would look at first at the beginning of the year. Like, Oh, this is like a bi week for the Bengals. And now this is this isn't looking like so easy. That bagel's defense has been looking rough this year. Suspect and especially against the run. Yeah. The last one that I wanted to shout out is that on prize picks, they've already got some of their Sunday stuff up. Andy Dalton over 20, excuse me, over 224 passing yards. I like that one. Patriots 49ers. I'm wondering if there's some bad juju around the 49ers team. You know, this Patriots defense was pretty good. They had one game that was kind of, you know, weird. Let's see if, you know, they'll bounce back and see what they can do. I don't think they'll win this game, but I think they'll give 49ers a run for their money. And then last game, Bills versus Ravens, two top teams or supposed top teams going at it. And is this the best Josh Allen that we've seen? It is. It absolutely is. I mean, his, his big bugaboo is what turnovers and he has actually minimized it, putting the ball at risk in a way that I thought he just would never come around to. I just figured this is always going to be a rollercoaster ride and you're going to have to take the good with the bad. But the thing is that it you know He lost gabe davis who's who's a great blocker in the run game and will stretch the defense for you Even if he's not that productive And of course he lost stefan diggs and even with a lesser cast of characters. He's just balling out. He's He's making plays, you know, maybe, maybe that led him play freer. He's, he doesn't feel, he is like, oh, I don't have to get the ball to Stefan did. Right. Try to, I don't have to park him. You know, he's like, I'm just trying double digits every week. Right.'cause we've seen without him, he's just spreading the ball around like everyone's getting involved. Right. It's Sha Shaki. Couple nice catches, Samuel, a couple nice catches. Keon Coleman. Couple nice catches. Yeah. I, I Dalton he, speaking of which. I I actually won in my I had a free ticket to a DFS contest, draft Kings for the Monday night lineup, six bucks. I won six bucks. You know, I won six of my 10 and I lost. I love it. Whenever you get that free play, man, just shoot for the stars, baby, bro. I took, I took Khalil Shakir. I took, you know Jaden Daniels, like. Josh a couple other players. I can't remember when Aaron Rogers sees the defender in the neutral zone and he's got a free play. He's like, well, I'm throwing it towards the end zone here. Yeah. Right. Somebody go make a play, please. Yeah, please. Somebody go catch the ball. That's what it's like. You get those free entries. It's like, all right, let me see. Let me see if I can win me a tournament somehow. That's pretty cool. Yeah. I came in 279th place with Jayden Daniels, James Cook, Austin Eckler, Jamar Chase, Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Zach Ertz, Zach Moss, and the Bills defense. It's a pretty good lineup. Yeah. Yeah.
