Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the highly animated podcast. I'm your host or co-host. What are we doing again? Host. Yeah, that's right, jason, so.

Speaker 2:

I'm your host. We're going to take turns. I guess I'll be the co-host this time.

Speaker 1:

Oh, ok, well, welcome back, welcome back. All we always slow play these beginnings. We should be smarter, like other people, and fucking like have like the chapters and shit laid out. So we're going to talk about this and we're going to do this and we're going to do that. We don't do that around here really. But if you listen to the last episode, right, we alluded to, but I stopped, he was like don't say it. Don't say it because we had some opinions on some other content on another platform. You care to share what platform that is with the peeps out there listening.

Speaker 2:

I mean you don't want to share that? No. Your platform. I don't want to steal your thunder right.

Speaker 1:

Stop my platform. You knew what it was. No, you knew what it was.

Speaker 2:

before I didn't know what it was.

Speaker 1:

I thought on the mall listings, you looked at the top right and you knew that it said what platform was on.

Speaker 2:

I heard of it before.

Speaker 1:

OK, you're saying I took a chance on it, though I was going to take a chance on it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, is that not that? That's true, that's true. Yeah, you took a chance on it and it's just like shows, right? I don't want to steal your credit when you say you found all these great shows that I really found, but oh, you watched all these shows completion before.

Speaker 1:

Well, except for the one we're going to talk about, I just snuffed you on that one, but you almost caught me on that show, but you blown me out of the water on the other one, which I'm excited to hear what you got to say about. So, without further ado, the platform so graciously Spencer just toss back to me is High Dive. So for those that are anime fans have heard of it. We'd love to hear what you think. You know what I mean, because that's what we're going to kind of dive into today and some of the shows and the content that is exclusive to their platform, which is a big deal Because we're crunchyroll guys, or Spencer is still a crunchyroll and Funimation guy because he got me off of Funimation. I'm not going to go pay them because they're already owned by a crunchyroll.

Speaker 2:

But that's the only thing. That was your decision, that was your spy master networks, just sabotaging the shit out of me. I didn't go in there and be like hey, click, I just canceled your subscription. You did that yourself.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm, Remember. Yeah, I mean, it's hardly. It was so long ago. I mean, how long have they owned them for? But that's all we're talking about. You're getting me sidetracked here. So High Dive is another platform like Crunchroll, like Funimation. What like Viz Media? Do they have their own shit?

Speaker 2:

Yes, there is a Viz Media. I don't know that they do like an app or whatever it's not like they don't even have an app. Actually, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

So anyways, platforms.

Speaker 2:

Not like one of these ones. Not like one of these ones, Not like a High Dive. I don't think.

Speaker 1:

And I mean when we say like a High Dive, it's exactly that it's a High Dive into a pool with no water. As far as the interface goes, sorry, I had to be a little dramatic there.

Speaker 2:

For the platform, yes.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I know People are like why are they going to talk about this shit? It was a high, yeah, not the shows. I had to be a little dramatic there. But if you ever use a platform, I mean we'd love to hear what you guys got to say. I told this guy right away. I was like, hey, these shows, bangers, they're good shows, they're worth watching the whole and they're both like 20 plus episode or I think one's 20 and one's 24, right Episode shows. Spencer's breezed through these two, which I'm obviously happy about because I suggested them. But we're going to get more in depth. The first one what show? Let them know what show are we talking about and we'll kind of mix in what we think about High Dive and what we're talking about with the show Was the whole full finished.

Speaker 1:

Yes, did you finish it. Yeah, yeah, oh, you did.

Speaker 2:

Finally, finally, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm finishing for you. When we started talking about that.

Speaker 2:

Was that last season or the season before? I think it was.

Speaker 1:

When we started talking about this show, we talked about it a long time ago, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Winner season or some shit. Yeah, when we started talking about.

Speaker 1:

We're in depth, was this last episode and episode before that a little bit, I think.

Speaker 2:

Yeah Well, they would probably already know it's Eminence in the Shadow.

Speaker 1:

I don't think we said it. I mean, maybe we did.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, I did not. Oh yeah, I don't think so you just broke news right there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, you don't know. No, no, no.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah, yeah. But Eminence in the Shadow, I guess it is kind of Isakai, Kind of I don't know. It's like even when he was in that first episode he's already kind of been reincarnated before.

Speaker 1:

And there is another time Shady with it, and it's happening again.

Speaker 2:

He's like that was the whole reason. He's like, oh, this is why I'm so focused on all the martial arts and all this shit that I'm doing, Because I want to be this guy. I want to be so fucking good yeah.

Speaker 1:

And our boy Sid. I can't remember.

Speaker 2:

If they implicitly say whether or not he had memories of a previous life, then or not, it's like he just felt different and he was different and I think he had previous memories. I'm pretty sure Acting weird around all the other students and stuff he must have actually, because, remember, when he's talking with the super popular, was it the president girl, like in the first?

Speaker 1:

episode yeah, oh, and I hate this guy.

Speaker 2:

He doesn't see me, he doesn't take me serious and then, he calls her the wrong fucking name all the time and shit. And then he's calling her some name and he's like, oh, maybe the NPCs in this world have different names.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, exactly yeah, he's thinking from a previous world and I think the other thing to kind of ride away, give it a little bit of a negative is, I feel like some of it's a little bit predictable. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

I feel like that dude that she was trying to make jealous obvious bad dude. I think I told you wasn't huge on the way they skipped through the end of that, like him dying and going to the next world. I thought they, I don't know, I thought that was kind of like sped up a little bit, like when they got to where he was at in the world and then how quickly he progressed. You know what I mean For me.

Speaker 2:

I thought that was a little sped up. Yeah, I don't fault with that. I didn't give a fuck about. You already know where it's going beyond that anyway. So it was like. I was like whatever, let's get over with this stupid, fucking back story.

Speaker 1:

Oh, the story's what we're about here, dude, what do you mean?

Speaker 2:

That's not even a good story. That's just like oh, you have this mysterious guy and he doesn't give a fuck about the most popular girl, most popular girl angry about it, and then you know, I mean, I love the way he goes about what he does.

Speaker 1:

I like the story.

Speaker 2:

I'm just saying I wish there was a little bit more back, yeah, and I think it was like the first two episodes or something, because then obviously she gets like you know spoilers she gets kidnapped and then he comes to rescue her. And that blood thing, all our blood, he's got that thing where he's like oh, I'm fucking dual wielding crowbars and shit. He's got a better weapon than a crowbar. You know it's like. Oh, jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:

Hey, dude, he sat that in that first episode. When he uses those things, dude, fuck all those dudes up like savage, Like that's what sold me on the show when I first watched it. When he's defending the girl and before his first life. I was like oh God damn.

Speaker 2:

That was pretty cool. That was pretty cool.

Speaker 1:

I thought that I think that's the punch you need in a show, you know, and I mean, I think that's probably what would draw anyone out here that's like, oh, I'm not sure about him in the shadow, hey, it's a solid show, Like yeah, it's solid.

Speaker 2:

I mean I was gonna say something earlier. I wouldn't say banger, I know. Banger, like you said, I'm a little bit more on the fence on this other one, but this one's good. It's a good show, it's not a good show.

Speaker 1:

The other one, oh, this one, it's good. Okay, I'll settle for that I'm happy with that I enjoyed it. Though I mean I enjoyed it, it took me a while to get from like 12 to yeah, right, I told you it slows down, dude. And then it picks up like last three or whatever Last weekend, right, and like I got to like one to one to 10 and like a fucking day. Yeah. And it was just like fuck, I could get through like 11,.

Speaker 2:

Get through 12. I wouldn't even get through 12. It'd be like already asleep at 12, just like fuck dude. Okay, let's get some going. Yeah, then finally you know.

Speaker 1:

Maybe like 16? Episode like 15 or something.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like all of a sudden, the story finally. They finally give a fuck about the story again Like all of a sudden it's cruise back in the mix. And yeah, I thought my biggest qualms with the show I have very rushed story not fleshed out enough characters like all of his little harem chicks, like they could have done so much better with them, and I don't know if this has been green-lighted for a second season or not.

Speaker 1:

It is. No, it has been, I mean, at least according to Maul.

Speaker 2:

It's potentially right, but we'll be able to get more of that. But I think I mean the story in and of itself is not. I don't think that's what sells me on it. I think like super generic, like very. It almost kind of makes you not care about it, in the sense that he doesn't care about it but because we've got descriptions and we know about what's going on. It's like oh hey, he made up this cult that he thinks he made up by just looking at random stuff.

Speaker 1:

When he's out for it and what we really find out is oh, this is actually a real cult.

Speaker 2:

And this whole time he's just like okay, whatever. Like oh yeah, you guys go do your own thing and they're like actually doing shit. And how does it not click when you see? Not so long, how well they're doing, how successful they are, how wealthy they are, how like strong.

Speaker 1:

I know when he goes that snow spoiler, when he goes to that chicks the one that's clumsy and she has all this shit and I'm like oh yeah, yeah that gold? Oh my God, dude yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's just like is nothing's making sense for you? And he's like well, she always was the smartest one, and I guess I did tell her a couple of things, and it's like yeah, so that makes you have a fucking country wide, worldwide.

Speaker 1:

Like story yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 2:

No, I think that's kind of what I meant from the beginning. Yeah, a lot of stuff where I just felt like it it's not like they could have done more if they could have done. And then even to just like from the action it's it's, when you get action, it's fucking dope.

Speaker 1:

Dope.

Speaker 2:

It's badass, but it just seemed to be so like far and in between it's like you get a whole, like the whole fucking. First, like outside of episode one is like two, three are pretty mundane, with him being like a little slave dog to the prince yeah, I think it was a princess, like the second princess or some shit, right, yeah?

Speaker 1:

I get the gold coins and jump.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, a little bitch guy right, you know, and it's like dude to some extent, like sometimes it was funny, but then it kind of got overdue and then it was like oh, you know, they have their fucking tiff. You know they get a little little lover's quarrel and yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, then he gets fucking blame for some shit you know. And then even to, it's just like probably from a comedic standpoint, the funniest aspect is how he continues to like oh, I need to maintain my background character, this is the perfect opportunity for the beta male background.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

As far as that come from that, but at the same time it's almost like overly done. Like it gets to the point where I'm like all right, motherfucker, like we already know, you're the strongest person in this fucking world.

Speaker 1:

Like let's go.

Speaker 2:

Come on, come on.

Speaker 1:

Drop some fucking hammers on some people, blow them away, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I think the character was going to be way more involved too. I liked her, and she wasn't involved fairly enough.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I like her too. She's like fighting and she's trying to go find them.

Speaker 2:

They put in too many characters without like enough substance.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, fair points, fair points. So what would you rate it? You know, yeah, you know, out of the one out of 10, you can obviously point ones, you know. So.

Speaker 2:

Probably like six five, maybe like a six eight.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you're being stringent. That's interesting. I would go all the way up to like 7.6, only because I feel like you're right. The first bookend and the back end are badass as fuck. It's unfortunate that the middle and, like you say, you brought up great points, some parts of the storyline and other stuff is lacking.

Speaker 2:

Just the frags. Well, I mean, they're not very clear about everything you know. It's like they haven't really touched on a lot of stuff. It's like even the whole shit with a lip.

Speaker 1:

I wouldn't go that low though.

Speaker 2:

A Libby Varos or whatever, like the fucking original demon shit.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, Even.

Speaker 2:

Chayre Elf girl was. That is like probably has some type of relationship with Alpha or whatever. That shit is like. People are like brushed over really quickly, right, they spend more time on, you know, the witch chick who you come to find out. Well, you know anyways yeah you know like they spend way more to like.

Speaker 1:

She gets like fucking three episodes two episodes right and then you have like 20 episodes. That could have given us more yeah.

Speaker 2:

This person who's supposed to be like the world's like biggest hero and like, save the world from this shit. Like you don't get anything from them, right? Yeah, hardly even get background on them. All we find out is that the whole the world thought the whole time that it was this big, burly, like fucking man, and it ends up being like it's this little fucking chick elf.

Speaker 1:

I feel like, yeah, I feel like he's in his head too much. You know what I mean. Like when they're like the show's going through, he's always like taught, like it's always like an out of body experience, you know, and I mean which I think kind of pulled away from it too.

Speaker 2:

He doesn't like own the character Like. I wish he was like, like Rudy and Mushoku. Rudy and still acts as himself, like when he's in the world, right and yeah, like thinking all these crazy things, but then at the same time you have you know him kind of more, so just like noting the things that happen, you're right, picking up that he could talk about later with himself.

Speaker 2:

And I don't know I wasn't too sold on the, on the voice actor either. I think the voice actor was kind of just like you know yeah, he's got that.

Speaker 1:

Like, yeah, like, never care, I think he nailed it was like the nonchalant.

Speaker 2:

Just like to like. Okay, dude, cool, you're super badass, but you don't want to let anybody know you're super badass, but at the same time it's like come on man, like yeah, I want to see some badass stuff, right, you know, and I'd given you know towards the end where it went. After he wins the fight against the redhead, the first princess, right.

Speaker 1:

Like that's pretty badass.

Speaker 2:

And then he like fucking see some shit going on. Oh, it was that other, the other princess chick with the with the long blonde hair, who was like running from every way because she was being framed by the person who like fucking poisoned her dad and then she just like fucking kill them outright, you know, like saving her country and shit.

Speaker 1:

Doesn't? She doesn't? I mean spoilers, guys. So if you've been listening to this all down there, spoilers in here, because we just got a didn't she become 666? Isn't that her, the blonde, blonde girl this morning?

Speaker 2:

She like yes, okay, I'm sure Okay, so I'm trying to like track story wise.

Speaker 1:

I'm like, okay, that's two, like two episodes before I think right.

Speaker 2:

That's why. Because she did that yes, it's pretty much murder her father in order to save her.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I like how they did little things like that, though you know what I mean Like when she goes in, like oh, you're 666.

Speaker 2:

I'm like again it gives her shit, but it's a story. I think it's an oversaturation of characters you know these all could be cool characters, but they're just not flushing them out enough, Like, like there's so much more that they could give them. Like I mean, yeah, they got another four more episodes, right. Maybe you have one episode half and half goes a little bit more into the background, Like we still don't even know how all of these bitches got saved, Cause all of a sudden alpha's just got this huge ass.

Speaker 2:

Dude even though, what's going on with alpha?

Speaker 1:

Like a little blob in a fucking cage and like somehow does magic to over and over again yeah and then reverses it yeah. No, I know how does that happen. There's a lot of unanswered questions, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's very like they're very vague and a lot of like things which you know you can get away with. When you know, like like early on it was all the different characters and shit, I'm like, oh, here's a new chick that he's got, that's part of Right.

Speaker 1:

You know, yeah, does it? Does it? One of them have like no breasts and she uses her power to keep her breast and, like she does, anything.

Speaker 2:

She had some, but they're small, you know. So she she wants to look like one of the other ones.

Speaker 1:

And she's compensating that. I love how she every time I saw like like looks like all crazy, like they saw what happens she goes. You saw nothing Like. Essentially I was like ooh.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, she goes like did something happen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I asked if something happened. No, nothing happened, bad ass.

Speaker 1:

Like there's little tidbits right, like I'm like okay, that's really enjoyable.

Speaker 2:

I think we little things like that, yeah for sure 6.8 though, like is that what you said?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I mean you're like point fucking seven more above me. What do you mean?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, seven points. Yeah, no, I mean, it's not an eight, which I think is from not mistaken, at least the second season's being hailed as an 8.39 for the Eminence and the shout out.

Speaker 2:

Season two says zero minutes, 12 episodes. How's it being hailed? As it hasn't even come out yet, nobody's even seen any of it? How can they rate what it's going to be?

Speaker 1:

Maybe based off of the light novels. I don't know, I do not know. But yeah, 112,000 people pictures. I'm not saying as bad.

Speaker 2:

I'm just saying, like you know, if I were on a one to ten scale, my number one is one piece, obviously, right, clearly that best, best show ever. Number one show everything included obviously huge longevity. So there's a lot of areas for it to not be as good. I wouldn't even say one piece is a ten out of ten now it's like a nine point two yeah, you know what I'm saying. So then, okay, what's below it, what's in my eight range, what's around an eight range? You?

Speaker 1:

know, maybe dragon balls and Nartos like you know, yeah like balls.

Speaker 2:

Nartos, probably a little bit higher for me, like I probably put like a bleach around like an eight point, oh, maybe like a seven point five no seven.

Speaker 1:

I give a seven point nine, just a snuff it, you know what I mean, because it should be like an eight ish kind of show.

Speaker 2:

It could easily be it was for a while, but yeah, so then, like if I'm there with bleach imminent in the shadow, doesn't compare to any of those shows even remotely give it now episode count is a lot different, right so?

Speaker 1:

we'll see what they can do, but there's a picture. I can't really zoom in right now. I don't know what my shit is going on, my shit, you can't see it. Well, yeah, it's in the middle. It's essentially like a downtown, like scene, whatever, and then like the blood moon in the background. It just looks pretty cool that's the second season yeah, this is this. Allegedly. The second season is supposed to be out right now and it was previewed at anime expo July 1st.

Speaker 2:

Yep, so second season supposed to be playing right now yep, I haven't seen it anywhere, so well, so then the first season mostly came out a while ago, like not even like last winter summer. Like we said, the beginning yeah, it's been out for a while, I think even longer than that oh shit that's good, I mean at least like at least a year and some change, I would assume definitely, I think two years I'm.

Speaker 1:

I could even been longer than that, to be honest, but I didn't pull that up so I don't want to draw the pause too long enough. But yeah, solid show. Obviously me and Spencer differ a little bit on the ratings. He's in the high six bracket, I'm in like the mid to go into high seven bracket, that's probably more, because I'm hoping that they're gonna, you know, fill in the storyline and the gaps and do all that second season maybe. You know, obviously we don't get as much action, but we get a lot more depth in the story which would be, which would be fine, you know.

Speaker 1:

I mean, it would bring back like, okay, hey, they're gonna sprinkle in a couple badass scenes, I'm sure, because they have to, but if they do more on the story, then okay, I'm excited for season three maybe.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, budget, well and budget, and that's what I should practice to like, even though I think it's stupid, like how he's not so nonchalant, he thinks all this shit's made up, how they portray it as real and like how it's like working out is actually still pretty cool right interesting storyline oh shit, they got this huge secret layer. That's like fucking all crazy. It's him like what the fuck?

Speaker 2:

right, you know, compared to the rest of the world, and what's going on right, and I mean I think honestly, I think alpha is almost a more interesting character than sit is yeah, I mean I think yeah, like why were you that he told you the story?

Speaker 1:

you fullheartedly believed it. I mean, why wouldn't you?

Speaker 1:

and then fucking saved her so and then you're out there actually fighting this shit and starting like the like the world's greatest spy assassin organization the world has ever seen, based on what Sid gave you. You know what I mean? Like crazy, crazy, and they don't really explain that. You know what I mean? It's that's. Obviously we're seasoned anime show watchers, so we, you know, we put two and two to get another. People couldn't put two together, but I feel like you would get lost quickly if you're not expecting it. Yeah, interesting, so okay, okay, but yeah, I mean even using like high dive itself. You know, before we get into this other show that obviously don't know as much about as you do, but I mean, I have a lot to say it for the beginning of it. I think we can kind of really hammer that home. I think it's a flip side to the other show, to give a little preface for those wondering the next show we're gonna talk about.

Speaker 1:

I think this show has a bang in ass story yeah concept, but they just missed the mark on the fucking savageness like it could have. And it's not bad, like as you get a little further in, but like yeah they could have really nailed it out of the park.

Speaker 2:

I think early on, yes, they're like obviously the first like two episodes.

Speaker 1:

They definitely miss out on a lot of parts where it could have been like fucking nasty, nasty it picks up a lot more as it goes on like four and five as far as going, but before we get into it, I mean even beyond that, once you get to like fucking nine, ten, and it's like, oh yeah, shit's really falling. It's like okay, okay, I'm glad to hear it. So before we jump all the way into that, yeah, high dive, fucking blows blows right fucking time you get on regardless.

Speaker 1:

If I was just watching it, fucking 30 when I get on, when you're on, is there you're saying no, no, if I was just watching it okay, all of a sudden there's a power outage fucking okay.

Speaker 2:

Power comes back on five minutes later. Turn my shit on. Turn it back on. Hey, get back to the episode that I was one episode.

Speaker 1:

It's fucked. It switches it over to Japanese. They're talking about yeah back in Japanese.

Speaker 2:

I'm like hey, motherfucker, I switched this to fucking dubbed, no subtitles, like every single time you get on. You have to do it yeah remember your preference so annoying, dude it'll at least bounce you back to wherever you left off in the episode.

Speaker 1:

But true, they do do that.

Speaker 2:

I don't see there's no auto, auto play, fucking turn off.

Speaker 1:

That I saw no, so that is just fucking just roll right, mm-hmm. You know we hate that. I mean I don't give a fuck, but I know you hate that. I'll be passing out. Yeah, I will tell you if I want to continue on to the next episode or not.

Speaker 2:

Don't fuck in five episodes in the future and be like wait, wait on 18. No, this guy before baby, baby, baby, the fuck out of here get me out of here.

Speaker 1:

I'm seeing shit I shouldn't see. Yeah, yeah, the app itself, like I don't know. I've been trying on the computer. I feel like everyone's like I mean, who who's gonna just use their computer every time to like hook up to TV? If you're trying to watch TV, like most people have like a console, you know I mean with this PlayStation, xbox, main boo, playstation, go Xbox but yeah, I used to watch it from my computer yeah, I mean, you're weirdo though no, you just have multiple plugs.

Speaker 2:

So I had a fucking HDMI from my my Xbox, and one on my computer.

Speaker 1:

I like the interface on the computer better, so I'd watch from the computer source okay, hdmi to all right, cool, yeah, but you have to be like sitting here like I'd be sitting here doing this and then like go over and get, like you know, I like to watch.

Speaker 2:

That's a you have a shitty setup, not, not? It's the computer watching aspect of it.

Speaker 1:

I have a shit. I mean, I do have a shitty setup, but like. I know, oh, oh, you know oh yeah, what about your setup? Okay, once you shut your ass up.

Speaker 2:

So we're both slumming it on the setup my setup still kills your setup no, no because my setup cost a fraction of the price of your setup my setup's free maybe like I'm not talking about, just like how you watch it or where it's at the overall room and area and everything all inclusive yeah, not killing it.

Speaker 1:

Compared to that, what are you talking about? Close not even did. Okay, when she just got on that little you know. Mayflower behind you.

Speaker 2:

Okay, sail off into the distance yeah, I could fucking probably buy that Mayflower with all the money I saved that's what do you mean?

Speaker 1:

you mean, I pay my bills always on time, so you're talking about pay my bills on time. I'm not saying you don't, you don't, I'm saying what are? You trying to get at with me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, obviously I know that yeah, so that's why my setups and more ideal setup oh, the whole setup like that, I think on the computer setup.

Speaker 1:

I was.

Speaker 2:

I was, oh no, no. Another computer set, I mean mine was better, but I don't even have one anymore yeah, I mean not really, I mean it was just slightly better but oh, it was like 10 times better now did you even have one at that point?

Speaker 1:

I guess not more towards the end.

Speaker 2:

Did you?

Speaker 1:

during COVID. Yeah, we're all well. You're still working, but the rest of us were Well. Jordan was too. I was only working from home. Member.

Speaker 2:

Where did you keep your computer at?

Speaker 1:

Right, I mean right down the floor. I that was looked up to the TV, remember? I was sitting on the fucking leather couch With the keyboard, just fucking.

Speaker 2:

You were using your computer on your TV. Yeah, you're on the.

Speaker 1:

TV like not like no Xbox at all like on the TV itself, like clicking on it. You didn't do that. You had your computer, like me, and you right here. You're going like this You're looking over at the TV to have it get set up. You click play and then you leave your computer to either turn and watch it or go to the better, whatever, to watch it, and then you have to go back to the computer. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And so, and so that's a hassle, exactly like what you just did. So here's my computer, here's my TV, here's my chair.

Speaker 1:

You have a better chair that. Yeah, you're a better chair for that.

Speaker 2:

I'm just like oh, reach arm over, grab mouse, click, click. Okay, no movement except for the arm action. No, yeah, my set was far, far beyond better.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm sitting here on the couch just clicking away on the TV. Boop, boop, play. Set it to the side, watch. Grab it Set to the side easy easy you're doing that's kind of sirens, and who's was it before that years?

Speaker 2:

damn right it was. It was ever Kyren's, it was fucking are just in his room, I guess. No, we let other do. You say I was stealing from me, use it. It was an extra one that we had out in the garage. Love that let it go. Yeah, yeah, we need to. We need to upgrade old Jason's status a bit here. So We'll bring this couch in. We'll get you set up, you know so half your setup was like an offset of my setup.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, okay.

Speaker 2:

What's going on I?

Speaker 1:

dive runs, you know, and I mean is like a set up, like Half ass yeah and even to you know what else is also annoying. The fast forward aspect is fucking annoying lame the how you get the fast forward to get to the next episode thing.

Speaker 2:

There's no fucking next episode roll and fun amation, like it shows you kind of yeah what?

Speaker 2:

what? The thumbnail of what that seconds at this one. You're just guessing. So, like, when I'm fast forwarding Through the, the intro, it's like I immediately go All right times, 32, okay, maybe I'm at a minute. 30. All right, hey, intros like fucking, you know just over a minute, you know so. Then once it hits 233. All right, hit it again and it stops and I'm like all right, cool, I'm like spot on, pretty much right, or maybe I gotta, I gotta go forward a little bit more, right, yeah, but you have no, no real idea. You're just cuz kind of like basing it off of like ah, it's generally about, like you know, a minute, and it's not always even the same to like. There's a couple times where it plays out pretty heavy for like the first, like three, four minutes before it even actually goes into the actual intro credits for you to have to Skip forward.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. It's it's fun. Oh, that's also, that's weird and you can't.

Speaker 2:

You can't use the fuck. They stop triggers or anything Like you have to like, okay, go over to the fast forward button, click on it, click on it, click on it, you know, and then, like you can't just click, click B. Either you have to click a again or you have to go over to the side. It's like it's just not not a very intuitive Intuitive system, but not at all.

Speaker 1:

It's fucking yeah for. I told you day one.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly right, you know, and like you know whatever you know and like what you said, you know exclusive content you gave the shot on it because it's got shit. That other shit you know other other sites don't have and there's obviously some reason why this site was somehow able to get the licensing or rights.

Speaker 1:

How they compete with these bigger show yeah companies.

Speaker 2:

I don't know how especially to, I mean, crunchy roll ain't no fucking slouts, that's like a, that's like a billion dollar fucking company, right they?

Speaker 1:

bought out Funimation. I mean, yeah, I'm a shit in a country, or, like you know, I mean that was the two, so like all in that's probably like.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like they're probably worth a billion dollars or something. I don't know. I don't know what the value is, but they're definitely cornering the market.

Speaker 1:

There's no question about it.

Speaker 2:

I Dive, I don't know, high dives. I guess you still gotta have like a decent amount of money. I don't know like.

Speaker 1:

Couple hundred mil couple hundred million.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, maybe like 200 mil.

Speaker 1:

I have no idea.

Speaker 2:

I haven't looked into that be cool.

Speaker 1:

Maybe we'll look into it. I don't know like. I'm just surprised because like, oh, so another, oh. This will be a quick excerpt before we talk about the, the other show that I yeah, start, I yeah, story-wise, I think we you know it's dope but made an abyss, a scant text scene about that. I actually really am enjoying it for it's like it's our and everything. But I think so we can go into a little bit later. We love people's feedback on that.

Speaker 1:

That's a show I've seen a lot of people talk about. It's one of those ones I didn't know if I was gonna like or not actually really liking it. But Without further ado, why don't you bring up this one, seeing how you finished it over me? Yes, I brought the show to Spencer's attention but Spencer has ran with it now and I did say, to my credit, in the text First three is a concept everything super fucking dope. I could see like how this is a really cool-looking show, but I got dumbed down with the, you know the, not aggressiveness, essentially, but what was show is that? Well, we're talking about here on high dive, only on high dive.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I don't know, only on our, you could probably know, you could probably we're not talking about going and searching on the web and do that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we used to do that and then you can get fucking anything that way.

Speaker 1:

I'm talking about, yeah, like not breaking the law technically, even though I don't think ever it's busted for that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, no. So to introduce the second show of this, this pod, it was Gates. Just just gate, g8. You know cap, so cap so you, it's, it's good point if you type it in and oh, that's another shitty high dive thing If you don't type it in exactly as is, it doesn't populate on the fucking search bar. No like I just did, like gate real quick, right, there's no caps, no nothing, and I couldn't find it. I was like what the fuck?

Speaker 1:

Jason, you fucking line.

Speaker 2:

So I go back on my capital G, capital a, and then I was like, oh, pops up immediately. I'm like you fucking that's weird.

Speaker 1:

I didn't even realize that. I didn't know it's cap sensitive, like, like right on it.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't fucking pop even to like, and when I was looking for I wasn't typing in Eminence, I would like I just type in shadow right and then, if you, don't it wouldn't pop up capital, s, a, w, you know, and then it would pop right. I'm like what the fuck is this fucking weird dude? But uh, yeah, no, gate, gate, gate was the other show. Gate is you know as to what you said in the beginning? I I have not finished this one yet, I have only a five deep think I'm on like 18.

Speaker 1:

So, I got a like six left, no eight.

Speaker 2:

I think it's a. I think that's 24. Is that the 21? Yeah, it's a 24.

Speaker 1:

That's the 24 one.

Speaker 2:

So I got a few more to go there. I got a few more to go there, Um you're right with the six, though, if you're 18, that one is Um, I guess it's a fantasy. I mean, it's a fantasy, it's, it's, it's integrates modern and, and uh, medieval.

Speaker 1:

No well, yeah, yeah, I'm an evil fantasy. Yeah, lord of the Rings, or whatever.

Speaker 2:

You know, I mean timeline, yeah like, if you're not thinking about like earth medieval, you're thinking about like you know yeah, fantasy medieval, yeah.

Speaker 1:

so fantasy to the real world, yeah essentially is this cheap way explaining it?

Speaker 2:

Um, my guess, without getting too much away on this one, it's yeah, like. I mean, the title is called fucking gate, so it's about the, you know, it's about these, these gates, or portals to other worlds. Yeah, connect one, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if it's world dimension versions of whatever, yeah, whatever the fucking is Present like, like you think about today, our world, us here as humans, as normies, right Like as normies or fucking.

Speaker 2:

Living today as we are. Yeah all of a sudden, some fucking gates pop up that connect to this fantasy fucking world, right and Coming out of it the earth now has to, has to contend with hey, what the fuck is this?

Speaker 2:

what the fuck happened? And it's obviously very spontaneous out of nowhere. And then you have, like this massive army that comes out from Um, you know, into the gate and you know that's, that's really where, where Jason's kind of getting hung up on at. You know, those first two episodes, where that battle and this fighting is taking place, was like very they had vague too.

Speaker 2:

They had a lot of opportunities for it to be like I mean, I'm talking like, like fucking attack on titan gore top notch, but like they show it, they show it. Like you see, motherfucking heads getting.

Speaker 1:

The you do limbs, people have to the fact though there's no blood, there's no like, there's no. Definitive terror? No, I think it's pretty obvious.

Speaker 2:

There's definitive terror. How you see all the people. I think attack on Titan is definitive. There's no question. Sorry, no question terror.

Speaker 1:

I question it. That's why I'm questioning it right now, as we're talking about it, like that shit, like when the dragon and shit, all the shits come in, you know, swooping in, like it fucking flashes away to like you hear. You hear it, the noise, the audio. I would give them credit for it. They do a nice job with the audio mixing and giving you you, yeah, like what? I guess that's sorry, that's what you're probably meaning, or maybe not. I don't speak to you, but like you can hear it, you know what's going on, you can imagine what it looks like, but they don't right, like a second time.

Speaker 2:

You see the head getting decapitated. You see, yes, yeah, when the dragon comes in and he does a fire breath, it doesn't show people getting incinerated and everything. But, yeah, you hear, you're hearing them like, yeah, you know, and I mean, you know what? Did you say earlier? Something about the fucking art and shit, right, like you got? Oh, people who are anime Watchers. You know, no know what's going on without knowing what's going on.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, true.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's what this fucking is. You think a dragon breath does not mean.

Speaker 1:

More than I'm not specifically thinking of where they could have. They could have sapped it up big there are a couple.

Speaker 2:

I mean what you're upset, this fucking, not goblin slayer, and I'm bending over all these fucking people.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why you're thinking about that for a spark. There's lots killing. That goes on too, you know they.

Speaker 2:

Show all the killing like so.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what they're not showing it like you need beyond that attack on Titan. Go on with Slayer here. Gate is here.

Speaker 2:

Overall show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for sure and that, and then you know they could have been here no. Golden commies above gate Savagery At this, sorry, at the point I'm at five episodes in. You gotta remember that too. So I'm giving it more. I'm seeing it starting to pick up, but even in the beginning. No, I'm one season one, yeah, I'm so five of gate.

Speaker 2:

That's all you watch.

Speaker 1:

Jesus Christ, you're a psychopath. I'm waiting for those episodes to come out.

Speaker 2:

They're already out.

Speaker 1:

No, not the new. If it came out months ago, then I'm already caught up.

Speaker 2:

I'm waiting for the new, then no yeah, the new one after the dude died and we're waiting for they fucking they've. They restarted it and they restarted it from one. From one like season four. It's on like season four right now.

Speaker 1:

I'm like.

Speaker 2:

Ten, a season four right now, so there's probably at least like six or seven dubbed out. I.

Speaker 1:

Mean then maybe I'm that far behind then possibly. But Shows dope savage. That's a good, that's always a banger. That's when you brought up. I'll wait, but yeah, okay.

Speaker 2:

Anyways, yeah, definitely, I mean it does. I'm, when you said that and I watched that point, I'm like, oh yeah, this is what he was talking about. Okay yeah, this could have been like Way more gory, this could have been like you know.

Speaker 1:

I'm talking about that punch, you know. I mean that I'm, I'm digging everything that's going on. Without it not as much, not real anime fan oh. About being a real. Yeah, I am a real anime fan.

Speaker 2:

Oh, a real boy, god they may say Visually, visually, aesthetically, it would have been nice if that was there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I need that to be there to still appreciate what it is me, need it to be there, need it to be if, if you're predicating this show on savagery, because then Not, you know. That's how I'm feeling, that's what, where I'm like dude, you're coming in with this. What, what the fuck? You know gay, you know, I mean. And then the king on the other side. Spoiler for everyone you haven't seen gay, you know.

Speaker 2:

Maybe you know, you know.

Speaker 1:

Well, this part, this point, this part is important, I think. When you get it, I think it's in that, within the second episode or third episode at most, the deviousness that they they do in the other world To like help themselves out. You know I'm going with here.

Speaker 1:

That shit is like Damn. You know what I mean that savage in a sense of writing. Right, they hit it there, they hit it with the audio. I'm just saying they don't punch it out of the park with the visual. They do a good job, great job, Sure, but for me I wish it was just an amazing job and I mean I think that makes the difference.

Speaker 2:

I think the aspect of visuals that you care about is red. That's the only aspect of visuals you care about exactly. Like otherwise. Otherwise the still the show still looks good. This looks like a good show. Your company made this, animated this show.

Speaker 1:

I'm not even sure who made it. To be honest, through it out. Well, like it looks nice, let me type it in on and on my own. See what we got here. I actually don't even know who makes a show. It's good, it's giving some flowers, you know, let's see you got a 7.69 show came out 2015.

Speaker 2:

Hey, yeah, oh god damn well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 2:

I mean, we're not gonna get any more.

Speaker 1:

Well, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

Wasn't a real banger.

Speaker 1:

Guess not. No, as though a grim cars action illusions, banger, denogram, banger like, and yeah, no episodes, at least to date. New ones for those. Yeah, I dive in Netflix. It says it's on, and what Company? I guess.

Speaker 2:

So A1 pictures 3 billion, 2 billion, like something billion dollar company maybe that's where they tested all the shit on high dive another. Transferring over. I don't crunchy rolls, at least a billion.

Speaker 1:

Oh, this is interesting, so that's a lot for sure, so it was a 1 pictures who made it interesting enough. That's sort are online. That's seven deadly.

Speaker 1:

Very, your fucking shows my shows fairy tale, darling in the Franks Moggy. So a 1 pictures. I know I recognize the name. There's more on here that we know. I'm just trying to kind of go 8686, I know you're. Um, yeah, some slappy, all no zero. We both kind of like that one. That's kind of like that mech twist that Lee coy Lacroix recoil. I've heard of that show. I've never watched it myself, but I've seen that on the boards. Oh, mosh Moshel, excuse me is a one.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's the most recent, huh.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, looks like it, so bangers a 1 pictures they won up there with Moppa then. Definitely.

Speaker 1:

Discography yeah, discography in a way. I think. So Near on Tana, ma I, even though we have both haven't watched yet I think that's what. Maybe we should kind of try to check out Version 1.1, a, whatever, that's a1 Now. Now I'm interested. Of course Pat's calling me right now.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, bud, I don't think I'm getting a lot of repeat fairy tale shit and like Japanese names that I cannot read and I'm not recognizing the pictures right away. But a lot of stuff. And you know, if you've you've you've listened us, we use mall a lot to kind of reference stuff. It's a lot of cool pictures and stuff kind of go through and you can keep kind of lost in here. But that's who did gate, and so that makes sense, that it's a great show, because it makes sense that I liked it, because I like all those Other shows and that's kind of interesting. I think I mean we both like Moppa. We might have to do maybe a little show where we Talk more about the, the studios themselves, and you know I mean kind of dive into their episodes and try to draw parallels or something Like that, I don't know, get fucking fancy with it. That's a little more research on our end. So gate to where you're at so far.

Speaker 2:

Banger, not banger feel like it's gonna be a banger. Oh hey, guess who owns high dive who amc.

Speaker 1:

No shit. Oh, I am see trying to get in the game, Okay.

Speaker 2:

They acquired the streaming service in january.

Speaker 1:

When this january- 20, 20, 22. No shit, okay, I was. I say like I felt like I never had heard of it and all of a sudden it was there. So they got. I mean amc play man, they got money boy. Let me be on the movie business a long time. Movie theaters, all that shit.

Speaker 2:

They acquired a show and tie film works, a global you say hentai a sentai. Oh, okay global supplier of anime and official merchandise.

Speaker 1:

Hmm.

Speaker 2:

Looks like they. There's not a whole lot on it. Then there's a. It potentially bought it for. I see 30 million that's it.

Speaker 1:

I mean easily. They got three great shows. In my opinion, you got shadow shadow in the eminent or eminence, and shadow Jesus. I always do that with that one. I'm gay and I think made in a business is going to be proved to be a banger too. So I mean, right there, that's exclusive content to that at least.

Speaker 2:

They have like all these like fucking pages that to go like I'm on this. Oh no, there we go. I just refreshed it. Amc networks gets high dive anime streaming, exclusive rise to japan's mbs programming slate. I'm not the fuck. That means Um, the pack is sent as biggest ever deal for anime contact Content. According to the company, the output deal encompasses MBS is programming slate based on a collection of popular manga, light and light novel titles. So apparently they own a bunch of different popular like the rights to popular manga and light novels and they're now trying to Transfer them into becoming animes.

Speaker 1:

Oh, sons of bitches. Okay, that's smart. Play honestly. This speaks larger to what episodes and episodes ago are saying this market just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Speaker 2:

Look at these, look at these players who've been in there. The villainous to savior is a new show that Came out based off of, yeah, light novels, I think the biggest one I've heard about for a while.

Speaker 1:

Now. That's supposed to become, as that, solo leveling.

Speaker 2:

That's the one that's coming off on high dive.

Speaker 1:

No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I think it's a crunchy roll or something like that, but it's yeah that's, that's a crunchy roll.

Speaker 2:

Yeah that's a slapper, that's a fucking. Top is original, that's okay. I've read all of that.

Speaker 1:

I'm excited to see that one. That's the one it's supposed to be.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that was the one that's holding me on that stupid fucking app. Before I was just only only webtoons and now, now, after being on top, is webtoons kind of fucking sucks. There, there, there, there, the scam artists.

Speaker 1:

Finding your way through the manga light novel world.

Speaker 2:

Huh they got good shit, but they don't got nearly as good as webtoons and whatever as top is does. Yeah, web webtoons takes advantage of you and then, like then, they just ramped up their but you let them take advantage of you for a long time. You know I mean no, no, I didn't even get that into it for a while I had I they were, so you're giving them coins.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I do, but they were already so established that I was able to go through a lot of their bigger content for like, the majority of it For free, just like okay, one a day for free, one a day for free, one a day for free.

Speaker 2:

And then it wasn't until I got to the point where, after like two years, the one a day for freeze weren't there anymore. It was happening like once every two weeks, once a week, once a month and I was like, well, fuck you, you can fast pass and you can get like 10, 10 episodes, chapters, fucking comics ahead of that right.

Speaker 1:

I can't believe people are into that shit.

Speaker 2:

Dude Fuck yeah, dude, it's just like a show.

Speaker 1:

If you, if you could pay.

Speaker 2:

If you could pay fucking additional three bucks two bucks right now to watch this Saturday's episode. That's going to be like the most legendary one-piece episode ever. They're telling me you wouldn't do it.

Speaker 1:

Where are you gonna see?

Speaker 2:

what we're gonna see.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly so yeah, it's like that same kind of a fucking feeling, right where you're like shit dude, like Fuck Two bucks, okay, that's like fucking, that's like 30 minutes, like fuck 15 minutes, not even like 10 minutes. Eight, six minutes of my day, okay, okay, I can make that up in six minutes, if I do. If I do 12 minutes, dude, I could watch two episodes, fuck dude. If I do an hour, bro, I could watch fucking eight episodes, right, you know you start breaking it down like that.

Speaker 2:

You're like oh, fuck me, you know. Next thing, you know you're dropping fucking a hundred bucks. It's just like little kids with their like.

Speaker 1:

All these games on my phone. I didn't know I went to your credit card. Yeah, I know I did.

Speaker 2:

You know I was gonna say something, but you know, you know, you know I yeah, what, oh, you know you're talking about.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you're talking about the other game. Oh, yeah, yeah, I spent like 200, maybe like 300 on that bitch on my phone. Yeah, I can't remember the game of wars, some shit like that. Yeah, got really into that shit. But yeah, I mean you're spaying like that. Motherfucker, it's so long damn. I love that game I didn't say I didn't love it play like, like what, like two or three years. It was like dude, that was like peak phone gaming dude, like it was still like good then like on your much pay to play as.

Speaker 1:

I mean, it was like if you wanted to get, it was, but not as fucking hard not yet.

Speaker 2:

You could still do shit without it.

Speaker 1:

For a long time yeah.

Speaker 2:

I mean, and that's different to you think about like, like people spend money on on on candy crush and Fucking farm bill and shit like that, right, you know it's like the fuck dude, like I'm in here.

Speaker 1:

Let's put a little cap on what we were talking about will move on for the last couple minutes of the show. So, gate, solid bang, you're gonna be a banger. We were you're at. What do you think? I think it's got paying banger potential.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think it's way closer to banger than Eminence was. I think you like it a lot more once you get past four episodes.

Speaker 1:

I'm five.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so you should start liking it more now. Yeah, I am.

Speaker 1:

I am okay.

Speaker 2:

So, like I said, I think I Really don't have too many qualms with it so far. I mean, there's a couple of things where I'm just kind of like you know you kind of roll your extra critical though. But at the same time I'm just like, okay, that's not like a killer for me or anything.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, there's oh some of the mannerisms and shit.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's not gonna break it for me, but I'm just like.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But. But I mean I still am overall like enjoying it, the story as it progresses. I mean we gave kind of a basic we didn't want to get way too much.

Speaker 1:

I'm not.

Speaker 2:

I'm sure you can find that shit fucking some, some other mean anime heaven, are you? Because, god fucking, they got shut down.

Speaker 1:

God.

Speaker 2:

You know, I mean like the story and like how it progresses and how it continues on, like they do a lot better job, and and that's a little bit different too, because it just focuses on like really a few main character, like a crew, as opposed to like an Eminence in the shadow, where. So you have this whole fucking organization, right?

Speaker 2:

Yeah even still, there's no excuse. I mean, you go to overlord, you know. I know a lot of people fucking slack and overlord and you guys are fucking stupid as fuck, but stupid. They do a great job developing all the different, like our side characters. Why can't that just be like?

Speaker 1:
