What happens when conventional medicine's answers feel inadequate? In this deeply personal episode, I peel back the layers of my ongoing cancer battle to reveal the unconventional approaches giving me hope.

My journey has taught me that fear and ignorance often cloud our understanding of health, especially when facing life-threatening conditions. That's why I've sought wisdom beyond traditional medical settings, building a diverse team of experts ranging from physicians to fellow cancer patients. Through this collaborative approach, I've discovered powerful insights about oxygen therapy, exercise, and how tumors respond to their environment.

The episode details a recent setback when I attempted to treat my tumor with hydrogen peroxide, causing increased swelling and pain. This mistake led me to deeper research into chlorine dioxide therapy and the science behind oxygen's role in fighting cancer. Dr. Amil's remarkable experiment combining chlorine dioxide with oxygen-supplemented exercise showed dramatic improvements in just two weeks – a finding that has renewed my commitment to increasing physical activity despite my weakened state.

Perhaps most valuable has been my experience in Dr. Hoffman's cancer support group, where doctors battling their own cancers speak as equals with patients. This human-to-human exchange, free from the hierarchical dynamics of typical medical encounters, has provided insights unavailable in any textbook. As one participant noted: "When you start hearing doctors speak as humans, not gods, it's a whole different experience."

Whether you're facing cancer or supporting someone who is, this episode offers a window into the power of critical thinking, community healing, and finding your own path when the standard roadmap fails. Subscribe to join this journey and discover how sharing our stories might just save lives.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to the Healthy Living Podcast. I'm your host, joe Grumbine, and this is another subscriber only issue and I wanted to thank Lisa for subscribing recently and remember the subscriptions really matter to me. Subscriptions really matter to me. We're raising the awareness of this podcast through these subscriptions and it's really given me the impetus to raise the bar and find ways to communicate better and to dig deeper inside of my own experience to bring things out that I think can help more people. I am confident, because of the people that I've been speaking with, that these stories are helping people to understand their own problems and maybe consider solutions that they hadn't before.

Speaker 1:

I know that fear and ignorance grips a lot of people when it comes to medical issues, because we don't have medical training and we get told a lot of things that are incorrect about our bodies and about health and we only know what we know. And when you begin a journey like mine and the truth is the only thing that and the truth is the only thing that matters and the truth is the only thing that's going to save your life well, it's a different dynamic and, again, I highly encourage anybody to read Thomas Kuhn's book, the Structure of Scientific Revolution. It really will change the way you think and it will change the way you assess information. It will affect your discernment and help you find truths in better ways. And remember my truth isn't necessarily your truth. I am not telling anybody to do what I've done unless you happen to be me but the way that I'm going about it, the things that I'm causing me to go down the road and change course or stay course or whatever, that's the part that really matters and that's the part that you know I'm imparting to everybody and that's why I'm, whether I feel good or not, or whether I've got strength or not. I'm going to do this because I think it's that important. And to the new people who are listening there's a number of subscriber episodes. I encourage you to go back and listen to them all. They all have a particular special value and meaning.

Speaker 1:

When I left off, I thought I was onto something and you know, I think still that I am I just think I pushed too hard. So in this, this wound was weeping a little bit right out of the tumor and it continued to do so, and throughout the day, and I was with my sister, florina, and after a while she had gotten some kind of a message that said you know, look out for infection and and to be careful. And she said you know, maybe you talk to one of your doctor friends and, as I've mentioned, I I built this. Oh, I haven't built, it's come to me and I've cultivated it. But I have this beautiful team of experts and these are experts from physicians to cancer patients, to health experts, to just people with amazing ranges of experience and each adds something to the paradigm. That is my healing and this Dr Emil Escube, who is an amazing individual and I don't know that he's ever going to subscribe to this, but I do believe that he's instrumental in the answers I'm finding and he's been on a more than four-year battle from being diagnosed terminal and he's still out there and he's still working and he's still solving and just a huge inspiration to me and his scientific approach, his understanding of this book I was telling you about, and Dr Hoffman and the people we're working with and this whole crew. He's a big part of it.

Speaker 1:

And I asked him. I says what do you think? And I told him this story and he says well, you need to be careful because if you have an open sore or an open wound, they're probably not going to give you that chemo. And I didn't think about that. I didn't think anything about that. And he says you need to let that thing heal up because you're getting very close to getting approved and if that comes through and they see an ulcerated sore there, they may just stall it because your chemo is going to attack your immune system hard and you won't be able to fight that and you can't get any infection when you're on on chemo. In fact that's one of the things they told me. If you even have a elevated temperature of you know a hundred point five, they said you got to get to the emergency room and so shit.

Speaker 1:

I didn't think about that, so immediately I stopped all the peroxide and then I really started learning about peroxide and studying this chlorine dioxide and there's a Dr Kalker who has done a lot of work with chlorine dioxide and he has some of the leading edge information about making it and just the relative safety about it. So I spent a lot of time listening to his information, listening to some interviews with him, and I've come to understand chlorine dioxide in its simplicity and its elegance, and also more about peroxide with its aggressiveness and its free radical and all of these things. And so by dousing this thing with peroxide, it was really just tearing apart the area around and even though it was maybe sterilizing it, it was causing pretty bad damage to the tissue around it, and especially since I had made it kind of strong. So I kind of messed things up. The last couple of days I've just been letting it dry and it's wept a little bit yesterday and the day before, but less and less, and the wound is closing up. Today I'm probably going to put a little ointment on it that I would make and it's a really good healing ointment. But unfortunately for me, since I did all this, there's been an increase in swelling, and it may be because of just the reaction to what I did, and so it's restricted my movement even more and it's caused a great deal of pain and been very difficult Because, remember, I went from being choked out pretty bad to a little bit of relief, and now some of that relief is diminished. So it's urgent that I figure out how to reduce this thing again.

Speaker 1:

And so, in learning about this chlorine dioxide, at first I started taking it and I felt almost like when I was drinking peroxide and I was tasting that really nasty, bleachy taste in my mouth. And when I started drinking the chlorine dioxide, at 30 parts per million approximately, it didn't taste bad when I drank it, but afterward I still felt like I had that bleachy taste in my mouth. And then, after listening to Dr Kalker, I realized there's no chlorine involved. This is not a chlorine molecule in this at all. It's a chloride, you know, like sodium chloride, like table salt and hydrochloric acid. Those are the two components that make this, or even citric acid will make it, and the gas molecule is not chlorine, even though that's the way it makes it sound. And I think it was really a placebo effect that was causing me to taste this chlorine.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if it's true or not, I just know that once I realized all this is is oxygen, it's just oxygen. There's nothing else and table salt and oxygen. And so then the key to it is like you can't drink a bunch of it and get the value. It's like breathing. You know you can't just a bunch of it and get the value. It's like breathing. You know you can't just breathe in a whole bunch of oxygen at once, and then even a hyperbaric, it doesn't. You know it has a limited effect on how long it lasts and everything. You have to just breathe all the time, and so the key to chlorine dioxide is that you take it regularly. You take it once an hour and you get that in your system on a regular and uh, and yesterday was easter and my kids and my grandkids came over and we were hanging out, but four o'clock on sunday we have that uh cancer group meeting with dr hoffman's group and it's really such an important meeting that I've become a part of that.

Speaker 1:

I won't miss it, even if I have family over or something important. I may not sit for the whole thing, but I won't miss it and because every time I go, I either contribute something or receive something that's beneficial in a profound way, in a place that you're not going to get at your doctor's office, in a place that you're not going to get at your doctor's office, in a place that you're not going to find in a book. This is real collaborative experience from people that are doing it, and there's I don't know half a dozen doctors present, and most of these are doctors that are dealing with their own cancers and they're sharing their own stories and their own weaknesses and the things that they've learned along the way and the things they were wrong about. And when you start hearing doctors speak as humans, not gods, it's a whole different experience. And we're all talking peer-to-peer. We're all talking human-to-human and it's a completely different experience. The level of respect and understanding and caring I've never experienced before. You go to the doctor's office and most doctors are looking down on you and they're telling you what they know and they don't really want to hear what you have to say. Not all of them, you know, there's exceptions, but my experience in my life has generally been no doctor wants to really hear much about what I have to say.

Speaker 1:

And anyways, in this event, dr Emil was sharing an experiment that he had done and he was telling us about it for the last few weeks. But this time he got to share his report and his report was about his ingesting chlorine dioxide and oxygen supplemented exercise, and so he was going to the gym and they have, I forget, what it's called EWOT, I think it's basically a system where you do a HITT training high intensity, interval training and it's the best way to get the most exercise in the least amount of time and it's with supplemented oxygen and it's all computer controlled and everything. And in like a 20-minute workout with the oxygen supplement, he says you can get a really great experience. Well, he shared the stories of his experience and the markers that he noticed and within two weeks he had a dramatic change, with just those two things being changed. And the studies are unequivocal.

Speaker 1:

And it's not just. Obviously the oxygen supplemented exercise is the very best way, but just adding exercise to your regimen is a powerful thing. So think about this a tumor wants low blood flow, it wants low oxygen, it wants a death environment and that's how it is in its best home. And when you have, when you're doing exercise, you increase blood flow to all tissue and there's no way that that tumor can keep that blood flow from coming in. And then, when you are increasing your oxygen whether, like I am, through, you know, nebulizing peroxide, ingesting ozonated glycerin and now this chlorine dioxide, I've got extra oxygen flowing through my veins all the time. And then when you add the exercise to it, it's um, it's a powerful addition and it's something that you can actually do.

Speaker 1:

In my experience right now, I'm kind of. You know, it's all in god's hands right now and I I've done everything I could think to do. I take my supplements, I I do my regimen, I do my sauna, I do my. You know everything I'm doing. But there isn't like a way that I can push harder, and this gave me a little bit of something that I can push a little harder. So I'm going to take the.

Speaker 1:

I am taking the effort now to increase my exercise. Getting back down to my pushups I'm going to get back to my hikes. I'm pushing my wheelb push-ups. I'm going to get back to my hikes. I'm pushing my wheelbarrows again. I'm going to get that blood flow going and, additionally, it will allow me to sleep better and, you know, build a little strength again.

Speaker 1:

I lost quite a bit.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I lost 30 more pounds and I'm skinnier than I've been since I can remember.

Speaker 1:

I still have some decent muscle mass, but now I'm going to start honing it.

Speaker 1:

I'll probably start taking more of that hominix medical food supplement because it's got a lot of amino acids without methionine and cysteine. I'm going to be probably eating a little more fruits, but the problem is my throat has begun a little bit more sensitive and I think it's because of this swelling and I hope it's just swelling and not tumor growth, but regardless of what it is, we can reverse everything that we're doing. I am reversing everything that I'm doing and I am more resolved today than I've been in a long time, so I appreciate everybody who's been supporting this and listening. I hope you find value in this, I hope you find inspiration, I hope you get ideas and if you want to come out here and share some of your experience, I would love it. It's just a conversation and a lot of people, as you can see, have been doing that, and we all learn from each other. All right, thank you for participating in the Healthy Living Podcast. I'm Joe Grumbine and we'll see you next time.
