Deepak Chopra talks about an age-old philosophy in India, the principle of economy of effort, or as he says, “do less and accomplish more.”

You start with an idea, and that idea manifests effortlessly. People may call that miracle, he calls it an expression of the Law of Least Effort.

That's his Fourth Spiritual Law of Success, and it's the topic of my episode today.

Deepak Chopra talks about an age old philosophy in India, the principle of economy of effort or, as he says, do less and accomplish more. You start with an idea and that idea manifests itself effortlessly. People may call that a miracle, but he calls it the expression of the law of least effort. Today, let's talk about how to do less and accomplish more.

Welcome to Every Day A New Thought. I'm Thor Challgren. Today, I'm continuing my seven part series in the book The Seven Spiritual laws of success by Deepak Chopra. Today, I'm looking at the fourth of seven laws, which is the law of least effort. I'll drop the first three episodes in the series in the description below. So be sure to check those out.

Today, I'm gonna give you my shorthand for how I view the law of least effort. Basically, you can think of it as allowing, most of us probably have a lot of work to do when it comes to allowing. There's so much that we want to do and so much we want to accomplish, we feel that often, it's incumbent on us to take action to make it happen. So we're not used to just allowing or letting things happen as they want to. We want to use power to force things to happen. Deepak Chopra reminds us that least effort is actually the real path to what we say that we want. He says, and I'm quoting here, least effort is expended when your actions are motivated by love.

So how does that work? He says, When your actions are motivated by love, your energy multiplies and accumulates. And the surplus energy you gather and enjoy can be channeled to create anything you want, including unlimited wealth. Well, this makes sense. Think, for example, about someone running a race. If they figure out how to run more efficiently, they're going to use less energy to cover that distance. So wouldn't they then be able to take that energy to either run further or sprint faster when they needed to? Basically doing more with less?

How do you put this into practice? Deepak Chopra says there are three components to the law of least effort.

The first is acceptance. As you go through your day, make a commitment to yourself, and it can sound something like this. Today, I will accept people situations and circumstances as they occur. Live in the moment, you may wish for things to be different, but right now, accept them as they are.

The second component is responsibility. Responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for your situation, including yourself. It means you also have the ability to have a creative response to the situation as it is now. In Episode 109, I talked about Jack Canfield success formula, which is E plus r equals O, where r is your response. In every situation you're in, you take responsibility for what's happening. Not only take responsibility, but look for the opportunity in what's happening to you. Now.

The third component is defenselessness, which means you don't try to defend your point of view. How much energy do we spend on defense, as Deepak Chopra says, If you relinquish the need to defend your point of view, you will in that relinquishment, gain access to enormous amounts of energy that previously had been wasted.

So those are the three steps, acceptance, responsibility, and defenselessness.

That's my look at the law of least effort, do less and accomplish more. I kind of like that. That's the show for today. If you liked this episode, please hit like if you're watching on YouTube.
