What if the world's peace and unity were within our grasp through the power of prayer? This episode seeks to explore this tantalizing possibility, guided by the wisdom found in the scriptures from Romans 11. We unravel the profound notions of acceptance and grace that God bestows upon us, and the life-changing impact this can have. Ponder the prophecy of Israel's salvation, and what it means when the full number of Gentiles is reached.

We then invite you on a journey through the miraculous stratosphere of prayer. Led by the host, Reverend Charles Irvin, we rediscover the strength and resilience that faith in God brings in our lives. We also take a poignant detour through the heart-stirring song, "Mary, Did You Know?" and discuss the significance of its message during the blessed Christmas season. The episode wraps with an uplifting prayer session for world peace and unity. If you've ever found yourself wavering in faith or searching for hope, this episode promises to refill your spiritual reservoirs.

Speaker 3:

Have a glorious year. Hello and welcome to another City of Churches podcast. I'm your host, reverend Charles Irvin. Now for the opening prayer. Dear Lord, may the power of your Word open up some very heart.

Speaker 3:

Today we are praying for Israel, ukraine, china and Africa and South America and the Philippines, who are in war right now. We are praying for you, to somebody, to start the talk of peace in those countries, to bring peace to their region. We need peace in this war right now. That's the end of this country. We need to make peace with our neighbors, our friends, our schoolmates, our senators and our councilmen, republican and Democratic. Make peace. Let them come and make peace so they can govern our body once again Tonight, fight. Amen. Now for the Lord's prayer. Our fire is not that in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Doth kingdom, come, my world be done. Our earth is in heaven. Give us this day, our day, bread, and give our trespasses and forgive those who trespass against us. Live not of temptation, but deliver us from evil. Fighting in the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. Now for our scriptures of the day. Consumers of the day comes from Romans 11, chapter 11.

Speaker 4:

Romans, chapter 11. I ask them did God reject His people? By no means. I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject His people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he appealed to God against Israel? Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars. I am the only one left and they are trying to kill me. And what was God's answer to him? I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

Speaker 4:

So too, at the present time, there is a remnant chosen by grace, and if by grace, then it cannot be based on works. If it were, grace would no longer be grace. What, then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly, they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened. As it is written, god gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear to this very day. And David says may their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see and their backs be bent forever. Again, I ask did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all. Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel enlious. But if their transgression means riches for the world and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring? I am talking to you, gentiles, in as much as I am the apostle to the Gentiles. I take pride in my ministry, in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? If the part of the dough offered as first fruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy. If the root is holy, so are the branches.

Speaker 4:

If some of the branches have been broken off and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in amongst the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do consider this, you do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in. Granted, but they were broken off because of their unbelief. And you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant but tremble, for if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Either, therefore, the kindness and sternness of God. Sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in His kindness. Otherwise, you will also be cut off, and if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature and, contrary to nature, were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited.

Speaker 4:

Israel has experienced a hardening, in part, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way, all Israel will be saved. As it is written, the Deliverer will come from Zion. He will turn godlessness away from Jacob, and this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins. As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake, but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and His call are irrevocable.

Speaker 4:

Just as you, who were at one time disobedient to God, have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient, in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you, for God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. O the depths of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable His judgments and His paths. Beyond tracing out who has known the mind of the Lord or who has been His counselor, who has ever given to God that God should repay them For? From Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

Speaker 3:

But your hair was a drum beat. Why is our drum beat? Jesus is the sticks to beat the drum of life. This, like our hearts, beats. That's our drum to know that we are alive.

Speaker 3:

Jesus said I am the drummer of the world. I come to spread love, to drive a steady beat of love and compassion as we get in this gateway to become the holiday season. It's not being why he was born this Christmas. Let's walk him in this world and make peace with one another on this Christmas and Thanksgiving. We need to give one another this year. I am a drummer myself and I know we need a strong beat.

Speaker 3:

We need to make people listen, to call on one another, as there was in the scriptures today for the words of Israel, not for the riches, but for the people. I did not send a leader to you to make you rich. I sent a leader to you to know me, the prophet of Israel, I hear, to make peace with your Gentiles. There, I said I generalize, as we know, as Pirate singers. Pirate singers are the Gentiles. My God said make peace with you, make peace with them, so I can have a land for myself, a holy land where people come back and make a peace with themselves, give them a full heart, a full drum beat of life and love. I'll call you, brothers and sisters, to take out your drums and be the heartbeat of your church, your community, your loved ones.

Speaker 3:

We need peace on this war right now. If we not wake up the call of history, history would repeat itself. Seems like we're going to go into another war, but I do not want that to happen. So we need to call on the United Lears and the United Nations Security Council to start the peace talks with Ukraine and Russia, with Israel and Palestine, and to make peace talks with China, with Africa and the Philippines and South America and Central America. We need help in those regions with the refugees and the humane givens. We need to say my people feel why there is a tattoo so we can help people, can somewhere, somewhere so they can have shelter and warm blankets. So please give to the war break it. Go to warbreakitorg to donate. Now I want to call closing prayer. Dear Lord, may these words that I speak today to find somebody, to feel somebody's heart, to know you today. Amen. Now we're going to find the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. God is good all the time. All the time. God is good. Now for the closing songs.

Speaker 2:

She's a mother or a teacher or a one-man love, but she's someone else entirely. When she's brave. She's a friend warrior, down on her knees, wrestling with powers and principalities, standing in the gap for others, for her sisters and her brothers, reaching heaven with her heart. Prayer, warrior. Don't see her lonely nights of intercession or that tear she sheds with every whispered voice. We may not see the secret things hidden in her heart, but the eyes of God are watching her with care. She's a friend warrior, down on her knees, wrestling with powers and principalities, standing in the gap for others, for her sisters and her brothers, reaching heaven with her heart. And we're never falling all the debt we have earned For. We'll never know the evil we've been spared. Many nights she's crashed through satans, strung her arms, reaching heaven with her prayer. She's a friend warrior, down on her knees, wrestling with powers and principalities, standing in the gap for others, for her sisters and her brothers, reaching heaven with her heart. Oh, you have touched the very heart of God. Prayer, warrior, prayer warrior, prayer warrior.

Speaker 5:

Prayer warrior. In this time of desperation, when all we know is doubt and fear, there is only one foundation we believe we believe In this broken generation, with all this dark, you help us see there is only one salvation.

Speaker 5:

We believe, we believe. We believe in God the Father. We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in the Holy Spirit and it's given us new life. We believe in the crucifixion. We believe that he conquered death. We believe in the resurrection and it's coming back again. We believe. So let our faith be more than anthems, better than the songs we say, and in our weakness and temptations we believe, we believe.

Speaker 2:

We believe in God the Father. We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in the Holy Spirit and it's given us new life. We believe in the crucifixion. We believe that he conquered death. We believe in the resurrection and it's coming back again. If the lost people ever tell me We've been to here and now We've been made to the church In love, I've got to say we believe, and the gates of hell Will not prevail, for the power of God has torn the veil. Now we know your love will never fail. We believe. We believe in God the Father. We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in the Holy Spirit and it's given us new life. We believe in the crucifixion. We believe that he conquered death. We believe in the resurrection and it's coming back again. It's coming back again. We believe. We believe the crown of swans placed on his head. He knew that he was small.

Speaker 5:

He said did you forget me, father Deja? They nailed him to a wooden cross, sold all the world which filled the loss of Christ, the King before us.

Speaker 2:

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. He hung his head and prepared to die.

Speaker 2:

They lifted his face up to the sky, said I am coming home now, father, to you, a wreath which held his final self was gently lifted to his lips. He'd wake his nest and gave his soul to glory. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. Three days went by and every came, he moved his soul to bless his name with oil and spice, and nothing. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Mary, did you know?

Speaker 5:

that your baby boy will one day walk on life, on water, on, mary. Did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you deliver will soon deliver you, mary. Did you know that your baby boy will give signs to a blind man? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? Did you know your baby boy has walked with an angel's trot?

Speaker 2:

When you kiss your little baby, you've kissed the face of God, the blind will sing, the deaf will hear, the deaf will live again, the lame will leave, the dark will speak the praises of the light. Mary, did you know?

Speaker 5:

that your baby boy is Lord of all creation. Mary, did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?

Speaker 2:

Did you know that your baby boy has heaven's folding?

Speaker 5:

land, this leading child you're holding is the great the great I am.

Speaker 2:

Did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
