Speaker 1:

Hi, I'm Tinkerbell the dog, and I'm her little sister, belle, and this is our podcast. Fierce fabulous fluff Talking about stuff Gossip Pups Fierce, fabulous fluff Talking about stuff Gossip Pups. Happy Friday everyone. I'm Belle and welcome to Gossip Pups, season two, episode 30, also known as 82. So happy Friday.

Speaker 1:

Happy opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris. I am so excited. I love this. This is going to be like my 24-7. I want my TV on 24-7. Even if I don't know what the sport is, I want to watch the sport. I love the clothes, the outfits and just everything about it. I wish I was there. That would have been magical. But it's okay. I have the best view and I heard that they are having like scary security issues on the trains and everything. So maybe it's better I'm here and everything. So maybe it's better I'm here. Anyway, I'm flying solo again. Tink couldn't be here, but I didn't want to miss an episode. As you know, I'm determined to never miss a week and I will not give up and hopefully Tink will come next week. Hopefully she'll be back and ready to wake up and not snooze.

Speaker 1:

So let's go to banter what happened this week. We signed our agreement for that amazing thing that we told you was happening in August, but I can't tell you anything else other than that we had one audition. We had one audition. What else? Oh yeah, humie got lots of emails for us inviting us to all these things, events in New York City, but she keeps passing because it's just too hot and Tink doesn't want to be outside and I don't care, but I don't really like the heat either. So we're declining a lot, which is fine because we get to be in AC, not have to worry. We had our bath time yesterday, which was really good, felt really good. It was a long spa day in the bath and we are fierce, fabulous and fluffed again. And what else happened? Yeah, lots of emails about some things that could potentially happen. So we just keep our paws crossed that they actually happen. What else is going on? So do you? Oh yeah, so I mean, it's kind of pop culture, but let's just put it now, because we're going to be going into pop culture soon. So so let's just put it now.

Speaker 1:

So Taylor is in Munich, and did you see, this week at her concert it was torrentially raining. She performed for three and a half hours, torrentially raining. I think that was in Hamburg. I don't know how she does it. I'm telling you she's like Wonder Woman, super Woman, whatever it's called, whatever hero it is. She's it because I don't know how she does it and I don't know how the pianos and the guitars and everything else don't get ruined. It was torrential and everyone stayed Like no one cared. They were soaked for all those hours, all day long, standing like that. Everyone just stayed.

Speaker 1:

So this craziness, it's amazing, like I just don't understand. I'm telling you she's taking some major vitamins and she's got to share them with the world. But the stadium she's going to in Munich, olympia Stadium, was actually built for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games, which I thought was so cool and so timely because of the Paris Olympics, and it holds 63,000 people. So that means she sold out every concert there. I don't even know if the Olympics did that when they were there in 1972. That's crazy. But now she's there. I guess she's not going to the Olympics opening ceremony, which is tonight, because she's performing and yeah, so that's the banter, and we've already talked about the queen and I guess we could go on to Tink's favorite, the pop culture. So I'm going to pull that up here with my paws and see what we've got going. So of course, we're going to keep it going with the queen, because we just talked about her, so let's keep going for our pop culture segment. We've got Taylor Swift reveals she's the godmother of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' kids.

Speaker 1:

So I knew she was the godmother to one, but I didn't realize she was a godmother to all of them. So apparently, taylor made a surprise announcement. Why is this a surprise? I don't understand. Surprise announcement. Why is this a surprise? I don't understand. Her close pals for a decade revealed she's the godmother of the couple's four kids James Inez, betty and Olin, who was just born in 2023. So if you know Taylor, you recognize those names from some of her songs, right? So Taylor shared this news while celebrating the release of Ryan and Hugh Jackman's new movie, deadpool and Wolverine.

Speaker 1:

Over the past few years, I've watched one of my best friends on the planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness and magic into this film. She began her message posted on Instagram. He's created the best work of his life and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality with an abs sandwich. I don't know how he did it. Taylor, who posted the note alongside a picture with Blake Ryan and Hugh, and director Sean Levy cheekily joked but that's just Hugh for you. These other random crashed the photos and we were too polite to ask them to leave. See, she's funny, she has a sense of humor. She concluded her message with a nod to Deadpool himself. Shout out to Wade Wilson.

Speaker 1:

She wrote aka my godson's sperm donor, so my godkid's sperm donor. So she talked about it on social and she's got all four. First of all, those kids are the luckiest kids on earth, not because of their parents, because of their godparent. That's insane, that's crazy, that is amazing. And that's like I don't even think those kids know, like, how amazing and lucky they are. Like that's crazy. That would be the coolest thing. I would be like I want to go to every concert. Take me on your plane and don't let me go anywhere else, but on the plane and to the concert and that's it. I would want to stay with her the whole time and moving on to the next one. So this is interesting and makes me go. Hmm, okay, I'll start it and then let's see if you go.

Speaker 1:

Hmm, also, travis Kelsey shoves chief player during training scuffle. And here we go with his temper. The guy just got back to Kansas City to practice for the new season and he's already in trouble. I don't understand. That means he has a temper, I think, don't you? Things got heated during a Kansas City Chiefs training camp. It ended with Travis Kelsey shoving a teammate. The team was playing 11-on-11 when defensive and George Cardliftis knocked down wide receiver Cardius Toney. Toney can be seen throwing the ball towards Cardliftis in a huff. Kelsey then confronts Cardliftis and appears to headbutt him and push him. Words appear to be exchanged before Carliftis makes his way to the sideline. The whole incident was caught on camera and, of course, posted to X. Where else? And here is a hmm.

Speaker 1:

Kelsey has a history of hot-headed behavior on the field. The intense moment he shoved and yelled at coach Andy Reid's face during the Super Bowl we all saw that. And the time, according to Sports Illustrated, he threw a punch at linebacker Jack Cochran during a practice game. None of the players involved in today's scuffle have commented on the incident. Well, travis, what are we going to do with you? I hope he doesn't show this temperature, taylor. That's all I want to say, because I don't get it. It's another one for me to go, like, hmm, and give him another one of. I'm not so sure about this. He just keeps adding fuel to the fire, like what's wrong with this guy? Calm down. You're with Taylor, like what more can you want? Anyway? So moving on.

Speaker 1:

So you all heard the great news that Celine Dion is performing tonight at opening ceremony. I will be there glued to the TV, as you know, but this is interesting. Performing in large venues is risky. Loud noises are not good for stiff person syndrome. Noises are not good for stiff person syndrome. So she's set to make her triumphant return to the stage for the Olympics and also, which I'm very excited about, a Las Vegas residency. A decision is told, both as a positive sign about her stiff person syndrome treatments, but also very risky. So here's the deal Selena performed Friday night at an opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, while also in the final stages of negotiating a Resorts World Residency Two major developments amid her sometimes debilitating struggle with stiff person syndrome.

Speaker 1:

Did you all watch that? I'll continue the story, but I just have to ask you did you watch her documentary? Oh my gosh, that was so good, but I can't believe what she goes through daily. It's crazy. Okay, back to the story.

Speaker 1:

So this doctor, who's a specialist in stiff person syndrome at the Cleveland Clinic, said, while he can't speak specifically about Celine's situation, he believes her return to performing is an encouraging sign about her condition. But there are some big precautions. Sps effects, namely minor to severe muscle spasms, can be triggered by a number of factors, including loud noise, stress and temperature. So not an ideal combo for the professional singer at a large venue. But combative measures can be taken, such as relaxation techniques and strict environmental control. The doctor said techniques and strict environmental control. The doctor said she will have her medical treatments readily available off stage for every performance, just in case she begins to experience a spasm which could last anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours.

Speaker 1:

Should Celine suffer spasms so severe, a show needs to be ended. That doesn't mean her residency would be a bust. The doctor tells us one extreme episode does not indicate another would happen. Bottom line if the superstar says she's ready and well prepared, her epic comeback will go on. I don't know epic comeback will go on. I don't know If I was resorts I would feel like that's a little risky to have her because you don't know.

Speaker 1:

I mean, look what happened the last residency. She was canceling so many shows and no one knew why. But now we all know why. I mean I love Celine. One knew why, but now we all know why. I mean I love Celine. She's like amazing. I want, can't wait to see her tonight. I would love to see her in Las Vegas. But is this smart? I mean, I guess, if she's ready, she's ready, but you could have a spasm and your team has to be in the wing. Then what if you can't go back on? Goodbye audience. Peace out. Hope you enjoyed one song I don't understand. Well, we'll see tonight how she does. I can't wait because I think she's just amazing, but she said it does affect her vocal range. So let's see what happens, I guess. Moving on to another story for pop culture, after I have a sip of coffee, of course, delicious, okay, I think this is my last story for pop culture.

Speaker 1:

Facts of Lifestar. Mindy Cohn says a greedy bitch in the cast ruined the revival. So apparently this was a very famous TV show a while ago when they were children. Now they're all adults, but I thought this was interesting. Greed of Life. Mindy Kohn called one of her Facts of Life co-stars a greedy bitch, while blaming the unnamed actor for sabotaging a revival of the popular 80s sitcom. We got into talks, we hired a writer, the four of us got together on Zoom. This was during COVID, and we had meetings with Norman Lear about it.

Speaker 1:

She explained of the potential revival, according during her Wednesday appearance on Sirius XM's Jeff Lewis Live. At one point, though, cohn revealed one of the girls went behind their backs to try to make a separate deal for a spinoff deal just for herself. Can you imagine these people? The Royal Palm Royale actress said the movie devastated the cast. The move devastated the cast. I'm just saying for a 40 year friendship and sisterhood. There was like a tidal wave of emotion around it. She added that's when guest Michael Hitchcock chimed in saying there's always a greedy bitch. Cone58 was delightfully surprised by the comment and responded you know what Greedy bitch? She was a greedy bitch. She also. Then she high-fived the host.

Speaker 1:

While she declined to reveal who ruined the spinoff, cone confirmed it was one of the girls and suggested the fans could make an educated guess by scanning her social media to see whom she spent time with over the past few years Kim Fields and Nancy McKeon. Her Instagram page shows that she socialized only with Kim Fields and Nancy McKeon. Hmm, so obviously she's talking about Lisa Welschel, who in these pictures, is the girl with the blonde hair. Okay, so why are you being so greedy? Do you even work anymore? Like I know who the? I know the names of the other girls, but like, who are you? Do you work anymore? Why are you being so greedy? You should be so excited that you have a possible spinoff coming back. What is wrong with people? And now it's got ruined for everyone. I wonder if they could do the spinoff without that greedy one, but then I guess it wouldn't be the show and the lady. There's a lady in it, but I don't know. So that's interesting.

Speaker 1:

Do you guys know that show? Did you watch that show ever? I think it's on like rerun somewhere, all right, so I like to fight with Tink. There's no fighting involved here. I'm talking to you guys and I love talking to you guys, but like I need my fight, I need to battle Tink and tell her she's wrong about her opinions and right about her opinions and things like that and whatever. Hopefully she'll be back next week, but I'm just happy that we didn't miss a week, because you guys are the best. You GPS guys are the absolute most fabulous, bestest people on earth.

Speaker 1:

Moving on to pup culture, this is true and I bet all of you listeners will be like yeah, bet all of you listeners will be like, yeah, okay, dogs can smell shifts in human stress levels and adjust their behaviors in response. A study finds Dogs can smell whether a human is stressed or relaxed and will make behavioral decisions based on that information. According to a new UK study. That information according to a new UK study. The study published in Journal Scientific Reports tested a group of 18 dogs to see how they would respond to the smell of people who were both stressed and relaxed. Some people have looked at can dogs actually detect difference in odors? Can dogs actually detect difference in odors? And they have. But nobody had really looked into at how that affects a dog's emotions. The study says the researchers determined that the dogs were significantly less likely to approach a food bowl if they smelled a stressed-out human than if they didn't, indicating possible risk reduction behaviors in response to the smell of human stress, according to the study. Well, that's interesting. So if the human is stressed, the dog won't go to the bowl. Do you guys have that? Do you have a pup that does that? Let's keep reading.

Speaker 1:

The researchers initially tested dogs' responses by placing bowls in one corner of the room that often contain food and empty bowls in the opposite corner of the room. The dogs learned to head towards the side, where they knew the food was more likely to be. In another part of the experiment, some human participants were put through stressful activities, including delivering an impromptu speech and calculating complex math problems. In contrast, others were left to rest in comfortable chair with blankets and instructed to watch calming videos. During the tests, the participants' cortisol levels, heart rate and self-reported anxiety were recorded.

Speaker 1:

Researchers also collected samples of the participants' breath and sweat on rags. Ew, yuck, that's gross sounding. The rags were then released to the dogs. Dogs who smelled rags collected from humans involved in stressful actions were more hesitant to approach the food bowls. Canines who sniffed rags from humans participating in relaxing activities weren't as affected. It basically shows that the stress smell might affect how dogs respond to ambiguous situations. They might be less likely to try something risky if they think they're going to be disappointed. Wow, that's pretty cool. We should all try to test that out.

Speaker 1:

I don't think human stress affects me. I eat no matter what Doesn't matter, stressed, not stressed. Happy, sad. I'm hungry. I'm going to that bowl and eating. That's how it goes for me. I'll have to check on what Tink does. I'm going to watch Tink from now on and her eating behaviors, but sometimes I eat so fast I don't get to watch her. But anyway, very interesting, moving on.

Speaker 1:

Two hero dogs helped save woman with dementia who spent over 24 hours lost in the Utah heat. Utah officials are crediting a barking pup and a working dog with finding a missing woman after she became lost in extreme heat for more than 24 hours. According to a post, the 80-year-old woman was reported missing last month in Emory County Sheriff's Office when she failed to return home after taking her dog out for a walk at a nearby mountainside. Guys, this sounds like a story. I did a couple of episodes about that lady who got lost, but she wasn't walking her dog, so it sounds kind of like a repeat to me, but it's not. This is weird. But that was Colorado, maybe this is Utah, very crazy. Anyway. The post said the missing woman had dementia, which increased concerns.

Speaker 1:

According to the Utah agency, along with canine assistant Kip, who began training certified to track humans, began searching shortly after the report came in oh, kip's a nice looking guy. They had dropped to 55 degrees weather after dark. Authorities were worried the missing woman's health, since temperatures were 100 degrees during the day. Wow, that's insane 55 degrees at night and 100 during the day. Holy mackerel, how'd he adjust for that Gosh?

Speaker 1:

Due to extreme heat, the amount of time that had passed, many search and rescue personnel area, the likelihood of tracking the woman was low. However, kip began tracking near the woman where she went missing and they heard a dog barking at 3 30 am. They searched the area. They heard the dog but didn't immediately find the woman. They gained access, saw her walking past. Then they took to the mountain searching as they got closer to the sound of the dog barking. When the group reached the noise source they located the woman. She was extremely dehydrated, no shoes, minor cuts and bruises, but she's overall in good condition. The dog stayed by her side the whole time and if they hadn't heard the dog barking she could have never survived this. Wow See, I'm telling you us pups are amazing. Forget testing us about eating. How about testing us how good we do to save humans that are lost in the middle of the mountains, in the woods. Amazing, okay, my last story for pup culture.

Speaker 1:

Dozens of corgis gather for races to spread smiles and fight Alzheimer's. Two dozen Corgis were off to the races for a good cause. Corgi owners and their fluffy friends gathered together at Emerald Downs Racetrack in Auburn, washington, for the Amazon Corgi World Championship races which benefited the Alzheimer's Association. The 12 contenders in the first heat of the race were Corgis who raised the most money for the Washington chapter of Alzheimer's Association. The second round, called the Rufus Cup, included pets of Amazon employees. Oh, that's so cool.

Speaker 1:

Many of the canines' families had a connection to the disease, including Milo Bigglesworth, one of the day's winners, who traveled from Wisconsin to compete in the races. Milo's family is originally from Washington and their grandmother, ella, was a Tacoma area resident who died from the disease. Grandma loved Milo and Milo loved her and her treats, which. She describes this pooch as a speedy little guy. Oh, wow, there's a picture of them running. It's so funny. Milo, who's only lost one past Corgi race.

Speaker 1:

Last year's Emeralds event returned to take on victory in the Alzheimer's Association Heat. The winner in the Amazon Heat was a dog named Dizzy. Milo's past accomplishments included back-to-back championship wins, canterbury corgi races, best in show titles and all-breed race. This will most likely be Milo's retirement race and he wants redemption. Well, milo, sorry you didn't win, but this is amazing, and I'm so happy that Corgis are making people smile and help raise money for a great cause.

Speaker 1:
