Lord, you know you listen on the place of word. Radio is the best. You can relate to that a little bit right, looking back and just reminiscing a little bit and remembering that the Lord is with you or was with you then, as he's with you now. The same Lord, he's been with us. Man, you live long enough and live and walk with God. Man, it's so nice to look back and say you don't age, lord, I do, but you don't. Hello and welcome to Plays on Word Radio, where we discuss, analyze, work and play on the Word of God. Thank you for joining us on this excursion. Today let's join Pastor Teddy, also known as Fred David Kenny Jr, the founder of Plays on Word Theater, as he does a deep dive into the Word of God.

Yes, yes, yes. Thank you very much, mr Josh Taylor and Katie Kenny. Welcome to all you listening to Plays on Word Radio. We are back, that's right. Today we're going to do something a little special for you. I'm going to get my Wolfman Jack or Casey Kasem on. If you, those old heads, would understand that. You young heads have no idea what I'm talking about. But today is a music episode. We're going to rock some of the tunes from the plays and some of the tunes from the albums and, yeah, we're going to.

Just what happened was the reason we did the first album was a lot of people would come up to me after the play and they would say one of the things I would always get specifically after a Genesis Joe play. People would say, hey, have you ever listened to Keith Green? You know you remind me of Keith Green and you know I take that as a major compliment. Keith Green, for those of you that know. You know. Those of you that don't know, you need to check him out. He died way too young, a Christian artist, and yeah, he was the real deal, but he had some unique chord changes. That whole period from the late 60s through the early 80s was some serious songwriting, chord progressions and stuff like that, and so I took it as a compliment. But people would come up after the play and they would say, hey, where can I get these songs? They sound great. And I was like, well, you know, I had a recording studio over 20 some years ago in Philadelphia and I've always had a recording studio. I had a recording.

My first recording studio I had I think it was basically man, if you think about it I took two boom boxes and put them back together I like put them back to back so I'd record on one and I recruited my brother, and then, at another point I think, I recruited my other brother, ben, but mostly it was me and Mike and we would record. I'd play keyboards or guitar or bass or something and he would play drums and we would record one pass and then we'd play the cassette back and record again on top of that with another boombox. So we're playing what we recorded and then we would play additional stuff on top of it. So we were, and you can do that until you get to a point where there's so much noise that it's just like it makes no sense. But that was before we had multitrack.

And then when I got to high school, my mind was blown because they had an eight-track reel-to-reel. Mr Weisert was overseeing the recording studio. I couldn't believe it. Yeah, man, it was a real legit recording studio and I learned more about recording there. I would God bless Mr Weiser If you're listening to this, lee, god bless you, man. He would let me go in there on, during, during study hall and during during my lunch. A lot of times I didn't even eat lunch, I just be like, you know, I got to pass, I got to go down to the music room and they let me go down to the music room and I would blow stuff up. I was there, man. I was like, oh, don't want to do that again, turning stuff up, getting feedback, uh, erasing stuff by accident. But I was learning how to properly record and engineer, and so then I got some gear at my house. My dad God bless his soul he bought us some gear and then later, late teens, I even took out a loan from the bank. I think it was like my first loan.

I got my own recording 8-track reel-to-reel. My brother Ben still has it. It's out in California. I just recently came across a bunch of not cassettes, the Ampex 456 reels, something special about that tape. When you open up the box and smell it, oh man, it's just creativity. And those of you that know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about. The new heads have no idea because everything's digital now. But there was something special about new tape and so, yeah, I mean I've always had recording studio and then I worked in New York, basically apprenticed under Edison Sandsbury, yeah, and he's a legitimate, real deal producer and he taught me the art of production and engineering. He's an awesome engineer, excellent engineer and an excellent producer. He understands, like the big picture and yeah, so I learned so much from him and that experience being up in New York. And then I upgraded my studio again and I had all kinds of Anyway, I'm rambling, but we ended up becoming halfway decent engineer and halfway decent producer.

And most of these songs I think I engineered. I know I engineered on them my buddy Carmine. I brought him in for a couple songs to assist on that and let's see what else did we? I might have brought a couple instrumentalists in. My buddy Randy came in, phil Sinclair came in for a couple songs, but what we're going to do is we are going to rock steady here. This is a Plays on Word radio special music program and our first tune is going to be from the Genesis Joe play and this was a pure joy to record the song and to record the video. I wish you could have seen my wife's face when I came upstairs and showed her the video. I was recording it with two iPhones down in the studio in the basement. I had a basement studio at my house. She didn't know what I was doing and I came up and I played it for her. She was like what she was like this is great.

And then she was like, then the artist of her kicked in. Those of you that know, katie, can I get an amen? And she was like, all it needs is just a couple, a couple adjustments. I was like, oh man, I thought it was done. But so she came back downstairs and we did some color correcting, some tones and stuff like that. So I made the adjustments.

Katie helped me with that. I'm a good video editor. I just basically applied my music approach to video and I can put videos together, tell the story, get it framed right and everything, but the color correcting aspect. I mean, katie understands these different colors. I'm like you know what color is that? I'm like that's blue. No, no, that's periwinkle. She's got all these different, different names for all these different colors. Where I'm just like basic, I'll give you seven or eight colors. Anyway, that's what my beautiful wife is excellent at. So those of you that saw this video that's her on the color correction and me in the studio Check it out for me.

How I'd often think then. What would come to be. Looking forward from that time, I could not see. Would I change Babylon or would it change me in some way? And looking back now, I can't say for sure. Was the time spent worth it with the working door?

Right, looking back and just reminiscing a little bit and remembering that the Lord is with you, or was with you then, as he's with you now, is with you or was with you then, as he's with you now. This same Lord, he's been with us, man, if you live long enough and live and walk with God, man, it's so nice to look back and say you don't age, lord, I do, but you don't, and you were with me, thank you, and I can look back and see your hand upon me, lord, oh, hallelujah, I can see your hand.
