Awakening Hearts and the Dance of Light: November Magic

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright Episode 95

What happens when we embrace life's imperfections and see beauty in the broken pieces? Join me, Dr. BethAnn Kapansky Wright, as we explore November's transformative energy theme, "Focus on the Light," through the lens of the Akashic Records.

In this episode of Heart Magic, we reflect on the art of Kintsugi, celebrating the power of our imperfections to create something more beautiful and nuanced. Building on October's empowering theme, we delve into the impact of our individual light, the ripple effects of our awakened hearts, and the possibility of a collective heart chakra awakening. Together, we recognize how each of us contributes to the harmony of the systems around us.

With November's Scorpio energy inviting us to seek light in darkness, we journey through profound transformation and expansion. The Scorpio new moon at the beginning of the month sets the stage for new beginnings, urging thoughtful responses rather than reactive actions to world events. As the month unfolds, the first quarter moon offers a moment for reflection, while the full moon in Taurus encourages grounding and the celebration of tangible manifestations.

By cherishing life's simple pleasures and creating everyday magic, we enhance our connection to the world around us, fostering personal growth and a collective focus on light.

Don't miss next week's Talk Story episode, where I share passages from my books and the inspirations behind them. New episodes are released every Thursday.

Aloha and welcome to your Heart Magic, an illuminating space where psychology, spirituality and heart wisdom meet. Here's your host, Dr Bethann Kapansky-Wright, the clinical psychologist with a mystic mind.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

Aloha everybody, welcome to your Heart Magic. This is Dr Bethann Kapansky-Wright, and today we are talking about the energy for the month of November and we are looking at what the Akashic Records have to say about the month ahead and checking in on the moon cycles and astrological signs and any other intuitive messages that come through during this time. So diving in with the Akashic Records. The Akashic Records name the theme for the month of November, focus on the Light, which I personally thought was a really beautiful theme, and when I was opening the records, a lot of the imagery that was coming through was this emphasis on seeing light shining through, like the crack in a window in a dark room or the crack in a doorway, as if the sun was shining bright outside and even if somebody tried to pull the curtains and shut the door, it can't keep the light out, and so there was this beautiful brightness in it. I was also seeing images of Kintsugi art, the kind where the Japanese take ceramic or pottery and if it breaks, they piece it back together with liquid gold and in that process it becomes something more than it was before. It's more beautiful because of the breaks and is turned into this different kind of art and the emphasis is not on the perfection of the piece to begin with, and oh no, it's broken. What will we do now? The emphasis and the art form is on taking it and using gold, using something beautiful to mosaic it, to piece it together in a way that makes it more nuanced and interesting and something even more than what it was in its original form. And so that's the metaphor that the Akashic records gave us for the month of November, and the encouragement this month is to use this metaphor as a way to understand ourselves individually and understand the collective energy.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

Now, just to do a refresher, the energy of October was called terra firma and it was all about empowerment and moving forward into new terrain with more confidence and more certainty in our step. October was a month where we were told we would step into a greater sense of our power, a greater sense of efficacy and a greater sense of confidence. So it might be fun to do a little reflection prompt and think about how did that energy show up for you in October and where might you have seen yourself taking a new stride, whether that was something that you stepped out into the world and you tried and you manifested your energy in some kind of external way? Or was there something inwardly, where you resolve something within yourself and had a sense of self-mastery or resolution or something like that, where you felt like you were moving into a new energetic space, and maybe it was a little bit of both of those things. So that's the energy that we're coming out of, and now that we're standing on new ground, we are being asked to appreciate not only what brought us there and what might have looked broken or like a mistake or something that was imperfect, that helped us grow and arrive to that new place, but, as we're standing on that new ground, if we are looking around and thinking, oh, but this isn't as shiny as I thought it would look, this doesn't quite meet my expectations. I took this big step out into the world, or I launched something, or I took a risk, or I did this thing and it's not looking how I want it to, or it didn't have the impact or the effect or whatever, it is where we feel a sense of discontent or loss or something that doesn't quite add up. That's where the encouragement is to look at that and see what beauty can you find in that imperfection and what was interesting about the message for the month of November is oftentimes, when I do the Akashic Magic message, I'm opening the collective records as they apply to all of us and accessing here's the collective energy this month.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

But I'm usually focusing on how will this show up for us on our individual journeys so that we are able to maximize the information and find ways to apply it to ourselves. And there was a definite emphasis on the collective this month and I kept feeling like this message about focusing on the light was something that had a lot of collective weight to it and that it is something that we're being asked to do as individuals. But I felt like not only did that impact our personal journey, but that there was an impact collectively this month as we did that focusing on the light, and it almost felt, as I was in the records, that a mass heart chakra awakening or a heart healing or something was happening on a universal level. So I will be curious to see what kinds of things happen for the month of November and how that might show up. But there is a definite emphasis on seeing our individual journeys this month and appreciating how they also contribute to the whole, how they contribute to the harmony of the systems around us, how our individual light also has an impact on the greater light, the collective light on the planet at this time.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

And the Akashic Records was very specific to give us the guidance to not misperceive the impact of our individual light and how that truly does contribute to the systems in the world around us. And the Akashic Records went into this idea that so oftentimes we feel like our impact isn't big enough because we can't fix something or we can't solve it or problems seem so huge and we think what difference can I make? There's nothing that I can do about this awful thing going on over here or this thing that's happening over there that feels so huge and I'm just one person. And the Akashic Records really guided us away from that kind of thinking and instead said don't minimize the impact that you can have as a conscious, awakened heart and don't necessarily look at what you're doing and judge that and say, well, that barely makes a ripple effect. Look at the energy and the intention behind what you're doing, look at how bright you're shining your light and trust that something is happening at an energetic level that has a lot of impact on the environment around you and the places and people and situations that your energy might touch. And so there was this really cool focus that the records had to not be a little bit too much, but to be able to be a little bit more, minimize our efforts and to not minimize the energy that we radiate and what we're putting out there, and I thought that was just really encouraging and a beautiful message for everybody.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

Something that the records actually said for November's message was be generous with yourself when it comes to giving yourself credit for the things that you're doing. And so often, when we are used to just trying to do the right thing or be a good person and live in a more open-hearted, conscious-minded way, it's second nature to do something that we might not even think about and it's just the right thing to do and so we do that thing. It would never cross our mind that there is an alternative way, an alternative approach, and that we could choose to be unkind or choose to not be in our integrity about something. And so there was this fun exhortation from the records that so many people who might access a message like that are humble of heart. They're not going to sit around thinking about how great they are and all the good things they did in the world and all the ways they move their energy in a positive way. They're just going to do them. There's no need to make some big fuss about it.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

But the records encouraged us in our inner work to really reflect on well, how am I choosing to show up in a way that I am making an impact for the light, and to be generous in giving ourself credit for the ways that we're doing that, not as a boastful, self-congratulatory thing, but more as an honest assessment and a healthy self-esteem of being able to recognize not only our own progress on the path, like how have you grown over the last decade? Are there ways that you choose to share your energy now, to shine your light, that you might not have chosen 10 years ago, because you didn't know then what you know now and you hadn't had the growth. There is a choice. There is growth there, and it's important to recognize that, because right now it's easy to fall into hopelessness and it's easy to fall into despair and it's easy to fall into that mentality of feeling like you can't make a difference or your impact isn't enough. And so this wisdom from the records was really focusing on seeing all the ways that you are making an impact and that you as a soul, in your personal evolution and on your personal journey, have made shifts towards growth, towards expansion, towards living with more peace or more integrity, living your truth, living more authentically, whatever it is that for you represents open-hearted, wholehearted living, and trying to embody more heart-based principles and more spiritual principles.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

The last takeaway that the records had for the month of November was don't judge a book by its cover. Not everything is as it seems right now. This message really speaks to that. There's so much going on under the surface or behind the scenes of things I often think about spiritually that we look at something and say that's terrible. Look at what's going on over there and it can feel terrible from a human perspective, and we don't often see the angelic forces or the energy that might be taking place. We might not always see the end, where something is headed, or something that might not look perfect or might not look good, might actually have a purpose. It might have a hidden light, it might have something that breaks somebody open and helps reveal what's best in them, or helps expand somebody or grow them forward.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

So we're really encouraged to play with mindset this month and just remember that there's always more going on behind the scenes and under the surface than how things might look and to not take everything at face value, but to really be able to delve and to develop that higher perspective where, instead of reacting to information right away, we respond to it and we take a step back and look at what might this mean? What does this look like? Might there be more information coming through? Might there be more to the story than what I'm hearing? That would shape a more holistic perspective and that segues so nicely into the astrology for this month, because we start the month in Scorpio season and Scorpio is all about penetration and going under the surface and transformation and working with things that seem like they might be in the shadows or might be dark and finding the light in them. So that very intense transformative energy of Scorpio is a beautiful tie-in for this message from the Akashic that, even when the energy might not necessarily look the easiest, we can work with it in this way that allows us to transform it and we can find the light in whatever might look dark or whatever might look imperfect, whatever might look broken, and we can find the ways that, through life's breaks, we continue to grow into a wholer version of ourself. So Scorpio encourages us to not take things at face value and to do our own deep diving, to do our inner work.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

We began the month with a Scorpio new moon. That happened on November 1st, so it's already passed by the time this podcast is coming out. So this month, like day one, was set with the energetic footprint of new beginnings, new intentions, transformation, encouragement to dive below the surface. And what I love about a new moon is it's also so representative of the idea of feeling like things are slightly in the dark. A new moon is metaphorically the dark moon. The moon is always shining but we can't see the light from our vantage point and so it looks like there's no light up there. And that darkness of what's happening in the darkness and being in the void space and being in the nebula is where we began the month. We began it more in the shadows and as the month progresses, things start to emerge and to come out into the light.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

It's not lost on me at all that this is all happening during the election season and there's a lot happening for world events right now and global events, so this will likely be a big month with things going on in the greater collective and in the events around us, and so this wisdom applies to not only our individual path, but applies to how we might engage with some of these things that will be happening in the world around us and how we might find perspective and find our higher perspective when world events are happening or events are happening in our country or at the state level that we are tempted to react to and instead we're being invited to take a step back and respond and allow more information to come in, and to stay in our wisdom and stay in our higher understanding and know that there's always more going on behind the scenes than what might present itself upon our initial viewing. This episode actually comes out right around the first quarter moon of the month, and the first quarter moon is when the moon looks like it's half lit, half dark, and it happens like halfway between the new moon and the full moon. And the first quarter moon is this wonderful time to again take a step back, look at what is being illuminated, what is showing up, what is presenting itself, and to be evaluative and to figure out do I need to tweak anything or realign or recalibrate something, but we can also know that deeper illumination is coming and that deeper illumination hits around November 15th. We have a full moon in Taurus on the 15th of the month. Full moons represent illumination, celebration, abundance, completion. They are also an invitation to release, under the light of the moon, anything that we're ready to shed and to let go of from the last 28-day cycle as the moon moved from one full moon to the next full moon.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

The sign of Taurus is an earth sign, so this is an excellent full moon for looking at what you have been manifesting in your material world and the physical reality of your life. It's a wonderful moon for grounding and for returning to simple pleasures and simple joys. One of the things that I love about Taurus is it really encourages us to tap into our connection with the earth and our connection with our senses and our connection to pleasure and what brings us a sense of security and just being in romance, being in love with the earth, being in love with nature, finding those very simple ways that represent creature comforts to us, and small joys that help us feel anchored and help us feel grounded and help, when we compound those and add them together, create so much magic and the fabric of every day. So, working with the earth in any way that speaks to you on this full moon, looking at what earthly manifestation, like what has been happening on the surface of your life, what progress have you made? That might be a tangible manifestation, or even just doing something that represents a comfort ritual to you, where you are lighting candles and having a cup of tea or having something that taps into your sensory pleasure Any of those things are wonderful ways to work with the full moon.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

This month, after the full moon, we move into Sagittarius season on November 22nd, and Sagittarius energy is about expansion. It is a fire sign. It is about curiosity and play and adventure. Sagittarius is the seeker of truth and is always on an adventure and a quest for knowledge and out of curiosity, wanting to experience more of life and learn more, and sometimes that can represent in travel and adventure and physical movement. It could also be inner knowledge and a quest for truth and wanting to expand truth in your life in some capacity.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

And so what I love when we look at the overall energy of November and just take a step back and look at how it's going to play out as we begin the month, kind of shrouded in the new moon and the darkness, and we're in that Scorpio energy of needing to go below the surface, to really look and dig for truth, to search for the hidden lights. We are asked to look at what is broken or not quite right in our lives, where things haven't really pieced together in a harmonious way and where we've had to find new resources or new resilience to re-piece ourselves, or where we've had to grow bigger to handle something that we didn't expect, and to appreciate the beauty of that and the beauty and the asymmetry, and to also appreciate, when it's all put together, how it contributes to the harmony and how it contributes to the whole. And then, as the month goes on and we move into this full moon energy where things are illuminated, we also shift into Sagittarius, which is all about truth and seeking, and it is more external. It's about expansion. We are no longer digging below the surface, we are expanding in our lives, and so the energy becomes bigger and more curious and more exploratory, more external. We're asked to move our energy in different kinds of ways, and so I really love how the month shapes out and how each season feeds into the next and how the moon cycles tie in with that and the beautiful message from the Akashic just kind of brings it all together with the exhortation that, no matter what is happening for you this month, find the ways that you can to focus on the light.
